RinoaHeartilly DazzlingCherry12 RinoaHeartilly DazzlingCherry12 RinoaHeartilly, I love your quote in your signature! So true, so true! Especially with our school's football team. Might as well stop cheering for ourselves and whoop with the other team when they make a touchdown half way through the game. They suck so bad. About four or five of the saxes started playing a funeral march in the first half. It was so sad. sweatdrop And when we would make a good play, they would scream, "HOLY s**t!" like they couldn't believe we could actually physically score. (And I can see their point of view.) And it would be really loud. sweatdrop Geez, they need to control themselves... sweatdrop Thanks! biggrin lol xd I feel sorry for your football team... however, we won our game yesterday, so we get to go to the playoffs! Yay!!!! Marching Band isn't over yet!! blaugh Congratulations for you football team! At least some don't suck... xp Thanks! biggrin A lot of people underestimate our football team, but we made it! And we get to charter these wicked buses to our first game in the playoffs! My homeroom teacher was like.. 'Wait, the BAND gets the GOOD buses?!?! What about the football team! They're the reason you band people get to go!!!' Nice. I love your homeroom teacher's reaction. Unfortunately, our team is constantly underestimated and, um...frankly, its never untrue. At least not varsity. I'm pretty sure that JV right now can kick varsity's a**. But, let's not go there. I would love to play for my team in the playoffs. We just got the stinkin' varsity homecoming game and that's that. sweatdrop

OOOOOO...everyone's talking about different types of clarinet's so I might as well join right in. I want to play E flat (I don't know how to do the flat sign) clarinet! It's so small! Like a Christmas ornament! I told my friend that we should do a duet with her playing the picolo (sp?) and me playing the E flat clarinet. We would both be playing tiny replicas of our original instrument! We'd be playing Christmas ornaments! Tee-hee! ^_^ Okay, I'll stop now.

In my lesson group we were going to perform a group clarinet piece at a chamber recital, and the best among us got to play the Eb part. The first day he got it he was the first one in, sitting and ready to go. And all the others in our group came in one by one. He was like "see my baby?" and they were like "Oh my god... it's ADORABLE!!!" and we passed it around and stuff and fun. heart Eb. Also, I just upgraded my mouthpiece and started playing on harder reeds. gonk My poor virgin mouth! What hardness do y'all play on?

>P 'ello all. New to the boards, and a clarinet geek. <3
I play on a Buffet R13, usually playing on Vandoren V12 3's and 3 1/2s. Mouthpiece = Vandoren M15. XP
I'm one of those megadorks who makes All-State bands, Governor's School, all that jazz. ...also the clarinet section leader of my marching band. Also a key part of our clarinet choir...I usually pick between Bb, Bb Bass, and Eb Contrabass.
Big horns = holycrap fun.
Hope to get to know my bethren well. <3

Hurry up and be the best to play the Eb clarinet! I play on size 3 Vandorens (sp?). They are suprising easy to break in for me, or maybe its just the reed. Anyway...I'm teaching my friend how to play clarinet and she could barely make a sound on one of my new reeds. Then she passed it to me and when I played it it was fine. Hahaha...Alex needs some work on her skills but at least she wants to play. She plays the bassoon regularly. 3nodding

Durza the Shade I use Mitchell Luries, 3 1/2. Ah, the good ol' ML. I used to use ML 3's when I started out, then upgraded to ML Special or whatever it was... O_o Had the bronze box. Used 4s.
Decided after 3 years that I like Vandorens better. 3nodding

I was 17th (last) chair in my 2nd hour band class. I took our next test which is a set of arpeggioes (3 lines) that we had to play each line in 15 seconds. what ever amt. we went over per line, he deducted 3 pts/second, and 3pts/ missed no0te. my 1st line, i got 8 seconds, 2nd line i got in 6 seconds, and 3rd line i got in 7seconds with 1 mistake. that totaled up to 1st line: 127% 2nd:135%, and 3rd line 118%. those scores boosted me all the way up to 1st chair. I've been playing clari for 4 years now. also if you wanna be my friend, just pm me!!!
