Zephyr kept his head down as Hexxis spoke. He knew how absurd it sounded, it wasn't the first time he had mentioned it to someone, but it was the truth. Though, the mention of Oblivion caused him to cringe a little bit. Wiping his own tears away with his sleeve, Zephyr looked up at Hexxis. Clearing his throat, he tried to talk.
"It - she.." Zephyr paused, feeling a lump in his throat, "It's complicated, but the simple explanation is that she's dead.. I - she...." he closed his eyes and brought his hands to his face, "She was being controlled in a way that is near impossible to resist and she was sent to kill me, but managed to get enough control to not kill me.. she...stabbed herself through the chest.. and--- I didn't want her to go... I " his voice caught in his throat. Zephyr had never told anyone the full truth of what had happened before.
"I- ... because of Oblivion in my world was connected to me for awhile, I have... I have the ability to take peoples souls and put them into things." His voice was as shaky as his body was, but he did his best to continue on, "I... I took her soul...I wanted her to be able to see our kids grow up.. I...I wanted her to enjoy the world a bit longer... but when I found out I could bring her back.." he sniffled, wiping his eyes a bit, "I had to try... "

Hexxis continued to listen, taking in the information with deep consideration. "...kids...." she repeated and frowned. "....what is..your wish..if you win..." she asked carefully.
She hesitated, seemingly conflicted then moved forward to hug him. "....I'm sorry... I don't remember the things you speak of.... all I know is this school...and oblivion.......... my siblings........ the fighting...." she sighed. "I wish I was that person...I'm sorry if I'm not what you expected...." she spoke softly and hugged him a little tighter for just a moment longer before letting go, wiping her eyes of tears.

Zephyr was doing his best to not cry more until he was hugged, soon all of his emotions came crashing down around him as he stood there. As Hexxis moved away, he tried to collect himself again, struggling to try and form words.
"I don't ... I don't know what happened to her soul when I got here.. I-.... don't know if you're actually her or just a different version of her..." Zephyr wiped his eyes on his still damp sleeve, trying to get himself to calm down from the sudden emotional onslaught, "I know you have her face..but I'm going to try to win so I can ask for her back.. if she even wants to come back, that is.."

Hexxis stared at him, searching his face for lies but finding none and that was incredibly hard to handle, knowing he was being completely honest. She inhaled shakily and the tears slipped down her face slowly despite her better efforts to hold them in. "....and what if I'm not her.... then what.... you'll just... you'll kill me to get her back...won't you?" she looked down and bit her lip, tensing up. She was afraid of the answer, and part of her had already accepted what she assumed was the answer regardless of its validity.

Zephyr did his best to stand tall, trying to shoulder the courage it took to say it, "If I have to.. I will. But...I can give you the option of death and the unending darkness... or I can do what I did for my wife... I can try and affix your soul to someone you care about." His face softened at the end, "I want to give you that option, at least, if I am the one to do so... as much as it hurts.."
He looked down, clutching the front of his shirt in front of his heart, "I never thought I would have to reenact that night... but... I want to give you that choice..." Zephyr whispered.

Hexxis stared at him with wide eyes but not out of surprise or fear. She just hadn't expected him to say something like that. Swallowing down her emotions, she nodded as seriously as she could. ".....i think... my only option is the first one... any person i could have wanted to be joined with is dead... and you..love your wife. Someone who might not even be me.... even if part of me wishes it was..." She frowned. "I'm sorry that I'm hurting you by looking just like her... I really am..." she paused and moved forward to carefully grab his hand into hers. "..actually......instead... will you stay here tonight.... we can't fight in the dorms so its safe here. I just... don't want to be alone..."

Zephyr took a breath as he was asked to stay the night, moving to look at the door and then back to Hexxis, "I don't want to risk you and... him having a fight if he decides to show up or hears about this, though.. as much as I would love to - I just... I don't want to be the reason, again, why he's....like that." he looked down at the floor, still holding onto her hand, though.

Hexxis squeezed his hand a little, head down as she seemed to think about it. ".....i don't want to be alone..." she muttered softly. "...but if you really insist on leaving........then I won't stop you." she spoke softer then gradually let go of his hand to allow him to leave if he chose to do so.

Zephyr felt his heart sink as she let go of his hand, feeling
his emotions welling up again, he shook his head and took a deep breath. "I'll... I'll stay. I know that if I left, I'd be alone in my dorm too, and this...might be safer for both of us, even if we're on different teams.." He smiled a little as he looked up at her.

Hexxis suddenly looked at him, not expecting him to agree to stay, a mixture of relief and a small bit of happiness to hear that he wouldn't leave her. She exhaled slowly, not realizing she had even been holding her breath in the first place, and gave a faint smile, "...thank you..." she muttered softly and hesitated a moment before finally motioning to the bed to sit. "I apologize that I don't have many accommodations for guests here... I don't exactly have friends, so you would be the first to visit my room..." she explained, a hint of embarrassment, but only a little since really she just feel like a poor host.
Her room was immaculately clean, everything in its proper place as even the pencils and papers on the desk were aligned. On the wall was a framed photo of her family. Her, Melody, Ree, and Tri... but they lacked any indication of being anything other than normal humans. Her uniform was hung up from a hook on the closet door and she was actually in a t-shirt and comfy shorts. She looked like she had no intentions of leaving her room for the night.
Hexxis moved to a short set of drawers next to the bed, a nightstand as it were, and opened the bottom drawer to reveal a large shoe box that filled up the whole drawer. Pulling it out and uncovering it, there was a small hot plate and a number of packets of tea, instant coffee, and hot chocolate. Setting it up, she plugged in the hot plate and then moved one drawer up to grab the only two mugs in that drawer and a bottle of water. She was prepared to say the least.
"I know it is against the rules to have this in my room, and as student council president, I should be the least likely person to be storing it.... but I can't seem to sleep without a cup or tea or hot chocolate... it's just become a bit of a ritual now." she explained softly as she set it all up. "Would you like some? I have tea, coffee, and hot chocolate." she looked at him, offering him the box so he could look through what packets she had. Her attitude and body language was nervous but relaxed if not a little excited to have him there. It was very likely she hadn't been able to interact with anyone like this ever beyond Oblivion. "I'm sorry I don't have more to offer you..." she tried not to frown as she moved to find her laptop so she could maybe play a movie or something. "Do you like movies?... I have quite a few..."

Zephyr smiled, a little uneasily, but he did his best to relax a little. Though, as he saw that she had a hotplate and the methods to make a hot drink, he couldn't help but chuckle a little bit. Once a rebel, always a rebel, even a little bit he thought to himself as he looked at the coffee, nodding a little bit.
"Coffee sounds good to me... and as for movies - I do like them quite a bit, though I'm... not sure which ones are here in this world." Zephyr smiled a bit, resting his hands on his own hips as he looked about the room. It felt oddly comforting to be with her, even in a death game.

Hexxis nodded and started to boil some water on the hot plate. In the meantime, she opened the laptop and searched into the movies folder that was connected to a server hosting thousands of films. Everything was organized by genre then alphabetical listed with the director and year it was made. There was a wide variety of genres and in all the same movies as there was in the normal world Zephyr knew. She offered the laptop to him. "Well.... Here, choose one you think you might be interested in." she spoke then went back to preparing the coffee and hot chocolate for them.

Taking the laptop, Zephyr moved to sit on the floor as he started to go through the list of movies, "Wow, you do have a lot here, it's kind of impressive." he chuckled, smiling as he went through the list. After a moment, he went to the search function and looked up one specific movie, the one that he and his wife loved.
Moulin Rouge
"Though, if you do have this one, I do wonder if you've seen it... --- have you watched all of these?"

The search function would prove a little overwhelming as it accessed everything Moulin Rouge on the server which included all publications, pictures, plays, movies, articles, etc. However, it gave Zephyr enough information to indicate it, at the very least, did exist in the database, and with some sleuthing, he found what he was looking for in the musicals folder.
"...oh... No, that is just a database for movies. I've yet to watch them all. I haven't the time to dedicate to such a feat, although I hope to see as many as possible over my lifetime..." she explained.
Finishing up with the drinks, she moved over to sit next to Zephyr and offered him the mug of coffee. Looking over at the selected movie, she tilted her head. "...moulin rouge?... I haven't seen this one." Hexxis took the laptop and set it on the flat surface of the dresser next to the bed so they could sit or lay and watch it.

Zephyr seemed to struggle a little with the amount of information that was presented to him, it taking him a little longer than he would have liked to find the proper file that he was looking for. Clicking on it, he grinned and waited on the main menu for the DVD.
"It's one of my favorite ones, I'm a bit of a romantic, if I have to be honest." he took the mug and bowed his head as thanks, deciding to keep sitting for now, as he didn't want to get too comfortable yet. "Though, to be fair, I've seen it over twenty times by now."
