I'm going to classify him as a person of interest in this criminal case and as the prime suspect in the internal investigation." The captain then called for the man who directly oversaw the officers who were corrupted along with the Sandayu worshiper. "Send Sergeant Kobayashi to the interrogation room immediately." After dispatching that order he looked back over to Kojiro. "You're coming with me to cross-examine Kobayashi. Let's find out if he knows anything about the impetus of the Monsoon Temple incident. If he truly knows nothing then he's less than useless but if he does then he's possibly corrupted as well and might just know exactly where that worm is hiding." He was referring to the possible mysterious background operator. Kenshin hoped that this would be an easy interrogation and open and shut case. However, he had a feeling that this was going to be a long road. He stood from his desk and walked toward the interrogation room. The head officer was stopped, however, by an officer carrying a report on Maeko Tsujihara's case. He grabbed the file and read over it diligently before squinting in contempt. Why on earth the Arashikage was getting involved in a petty assault case. Especially one that seemed so open and shut but it was Toso's right to get involved in any matter that he felt concerned with as the Arashikage regardless. "I'm in the middle of my primary case. Give this to Lieutenant Rio-Kyuri." Kenshin handed the file back before swiftly walking to meet the sergeant in the interrogation room. He sat in a chair on one end of the table with another metallic chair next to him and a third across from them near the door. With his files ready Kenshin waited for the officers to escort the Sergeant for the inception of the APD's first internal investigation.

He kept his blades drawn, exhaling slowly, steadying his breathing. He wasn't quite on his last legs yet but he could tell that his bout with Toso's shield had done a number on him, and his Reiken states hadn't been helping with that. He could try to go for an all out assault, but his techniques had not yet been honed to match his strength. He should have mastered all of his styles long ago but his stagnancy had led to the current predicament. His encounter with the Arashikage was a blessing for opening his eyes to the path ahead, but it was also a curse. It was a reminder of his own powerlessness caused by nothing but laziness. If the lesson was to be pain and failure, he'd learn from it.
With more information on Isekai Junsei came an amazing display of meadows, squids and sky whales. It seemed to be something like an Ukyo technique activated through imagination rather than ink. He'd seen incredible things through genjutsu and meditation, but nothing could compare to tangible creations made by imagination. As truly breathtaking as it all was, Soraru didn't allow himself to be distracted when Toso finally started to approach him. A parry or counter would be the best option from his current stance, but no attack reached him. He turned around swiftly, blades ready to bite into the Arashikage's defenses. A familiar figure stood in his vision instead of his opponent, and Soraru had to swallow the words that threatened to leave. He'd just been told the powers of their arena and yet he was still struck by the sight of the giant who he last saw being encased in crystal.
Knowing what it was, he knew that attempting to deflect Wan's attack with his blade would have been next to futile. He turned his body and spun around the attack, avoiding it completely only to see something else moving fast in his peripherals. Of course, the adviser and Raikage were a pair. You could never have one without the other. Rather than an old friend, his final memories with the two of them led to a giant green arm appearing in front of him to stop Kaileer in his tracks. It belonged to Ragnos the Eviscerator, Wan's father and a constant source of dread for Kumogakure's older days. The constructs cancelled each other out and Soraru turned once more only to feel somber nostalgia well up within.
"I've spent a long time missing them, but that chapter of Kumogakure is in the past now. It's nice, though. Seeing their faces again. MOB- er...Miko and I were on a team with another Genin named Hono. Kaileer was my sensei, Axel was my fellow kidnap victim long ago. Hakanai. Well, I hope that her and Shukenja rest in peace." On either side of him were those who helped him get where he was in some way or another. Hono, Hatsu, Shukenja, and even the ANBU woman who once acted as kage for a time. Allies who hadn't shown up in Toso's own memories. Crisis and celebration played back in Soraru's mind, and it all led to the culmination of a technique he'd only used back when he helped Kaileer slay Wan's father.
"This round will be my last, Arashikage-dono. Your techniques have taken their toll and the power of Reiken doesn't last forever. Still, so long as my body isn't broken I won't dishonor you with an unworthy assault" Electricity began to crackle on his blades, a storm brewing within. With a flourish of his blades he lunged towards the kage. His arms raised to the sky and lightning struck within Isekai-Junsei, fusing with his blades as he sent out a single powerful slash that would be almost immediately followed up with eight chakra blades homing in on the opponent.. Assuming they weren't all dodged, the sound of thunderclaps would ring out one after the other until the last swing. The dragon surrounding his form would lash out aggressively with his strikes, becoming the icing on the cake that was his multi-slash technique.

The user then begins to spin rapidly as they raise from the ground and become engulfed in a vortex of lightning that takes on the form of an oriental dragon as they move towards a target while extending a total of forty feet. The lightning the dragon is composed of can leap out, striking targets within ten feet of the dragon, requiring ten chakra per post to upkeep. Those hit with this technique suffer tier three paralysis.

For each rank of the technique, the pressure wave throws the opponent back five feet unless the Act of surface Walking is used at equal rank and potency to the user's parent technique. โข Ionic Blade The user's bukijutsu and basic combat weapon strikes may be made complex to add their lightning element to the attacks. This causes tiered paralysis on contact equal to the rank of the technique it is paired with. โข Clan Members have a genetic affinity to the lightning element. โข Clan members gain descriptive increases in the same manner as any standard Taijutsu or Bukijutsu. โข Complex techniques performed gain the same bonuses as simple techniques. โข Lightning based techniques may be used in the same manner as Mystic Hero allows. Sergeant Kobayashi entered the room without any fight. He bowed respectfully to Kenshin before he sat in his chair. While he was a man in his early fifties and his waist now bulged behind his belt buckle, his face showed that he was once a very handsome man. His fading hair was brushed back as he took a professional seated position. It was clear that this was the most formal he appeared in years. "Captain Kosei. Lieutenant Kojiro. I take it this is about the boys who were under my jurisdiction." He said in a knowing tone. He was not going to mix words since he had nothing to hide. At least, he appeared as though he had nothing to hide. His hands were on the table open and bare.
Hajime let out a relieved sigh, hearing that Toso hadn't put the forms through yet. "Yes Sir, understood." He stood at attention, arms at his sides, keeping eye contact with his Kage's clone. When Toso relaxed he would, hands moving to rest upon the hilts of his blades. He listened to his orders and nodded, speaking up. "Nothing will happen to the Airship, I vow on my blades. If anyone tries, their blood will be spilled and their lives added to my count." Hajime was grinning a wide grin, he was excited ready to leave as soon as he could, though he did remember there was a date set up with friends before he could go, just thinking of it brought a blush to his cheeks. He was such a fool for writing a goodbye letter than agreeing to go on that date. Aaaaaaaa!

I dunno where my on going techniques went but the Hydra is still attacking the puppets, and his lightning strike armor is still equiped. chakra has been taking out for both's upkeep.
Maeko's face remained blank, her physical traits showing through clearly. Her emerald eyes locked on those scarlet rubies of Kagerou's. They seemed to flicker in the light, wet still, and liable to let loose the waterworks again. Mae' expected her to be a bit older, head cocking slightly as she looked the Surgeon General up and down. She was very pretty. Maeko gulped some, hearing the lady request her cell be opened.
She remained exactly where she was, not to cause the guards to become agitated. However she wasn't expecting Kagerou to step right in, and when she reached out Maeko flinched, and tugged away, memories flooded into her mind. Someone holding her hand, a parent or a long lost friend, then all there was, was Kaito after that. Gritting her teeth she stifled back tears. Her hand did move forward, to gently grasp her's. A hard gulp and she was starting to return to her level self again. Her eyes had almost teared up. Mae' followed right behind, her hand gripping a bit tighter, not out of malice but as if she was clinging to her. Kagerou was correct, she was absolutely scared, hurt, not knowing what was going to happen next. Without warning, that scent tickled her nose and she relaxed. Kagerou had the smell of the forest clinging to her, gentle bells danced in her head. Where they real or where they just her imagination? Maeko pondered for the while, as they walked, eyes looking up and down the back of the Surgeon.
She stepped in after her, and heard the door gently shut. Her words, didn't necessarily take proverbial mask off of her, she gazed at her only to see Kagerou swirl about, their hands held together. She was staring into those eyes, searching for something, searching for any sort of malice or ill intent. She gulped, before she got out. "I-I know you won't, I just...don't know you." Those eyes drifted down to those warm hands, holding her's, eyes drifting back up to her's. A slight blushing forming across her face. Finally, Maeko allowed herself to relax and that sorrowful expression was back on her face, hurt and confused written across her forehead.
Dance of the Larch: Absolute Defense [ A ] This is a supplemental technique. The user first prepares themselves by channeling chakra throughout all of their bones. Then, when the user is struck with a tai or bukijutsu technique, the user is able to have a plate of bones first protect the area which was struck equal rank to the strike provided. Then, the user launches a counter attack, which converts the opponentโs strength stat which they used the technique into the speed of which the bone blades rise out of the user to impale the target. Can only be used up to the rank the user has access to. Cost one activation to block the strike, and another to launch the counter strike. If the user only has one activation left, then the block will occur, but not the counter attack. If the user has no activations left, then this ability does not work. This stance last for 6 post. Behind the seemingly made of spandex armor the kage would produce a soft smile as the armor was shed as he assumed a more casual appearance once more. He'd give Soraru a nod. For him to speak of the old guard in such a way to even carry with him memories of that time in the past. Why...the kage felt most foolish to have ever believed the man was ever an assassin. Then it clicked and Tos began to laugh as he placed his palm on his forehead and shook his head that he hadn't realized earlier. He wouldn't share what it was that clicked but once Soraru spoke about not dishonoring him with an unowrthy assault did the Kage spread his arms wide as if a he were the owner of a big top with a renewed vim and vigor. "Then allow me to pay you your due respects by facing you head-on rather than hiding behind my cowardly defenses!" The man's glasses glinted brightly at their edge as he grinned like some kind of villain.
Suddenly from the mans back as if emerging in a force of eldritch horror did a mass of the tentacles from earlier produce themselves. One tentacle in the center smiled sinisterly then split, and suddenly where there was once 6 there were now 13 tendrils splayed like that of a peacock. A mass of air then flooded the expanse as each was cloaked in a spiral of wind flowing. Toso had picked up on the boys affinity for lightening and figured it respectively time to react appropriately. Then what be essentially a clash right out of the animes would occur. With each slash that Soraru made he'd be taken aback just enough as the toothy tentacles mocking found the weakest point in the arcs moving in zigs and zags at the most ideal of accuracy. Toso himself hadn't moved an inch as each of the boy's attacks applied more and more pressure the Arashikage's counter-offense being all that 'moderately' stronger. There were many ways to have approached the situation much better and more efficient ways, but none he could think that would have been as enthralling as this. Soraru striking through the forest of tendrils, to close in on his true target. Toso had been ahead of the game.
This was until Soraru's final slash would come bearing down through the black appendages as if parting a bush and finding the prey inside. Toso would look up and grin. "Not bad, my old roommate." In that moment the large dragon of wind and lightning would descend upon the Arashikage. The swordsman's pressure and the Kage's commitment to match it had netted what seemed to be be quite the success. A massive thunderous roar, the white expanse that had become a meadow would shoot grass and dirt into the air raising a massive dust cloud...anticipation as the dust cloud cleared. The Arashikage was face down in the ground noodly tentacles splayed...did Soraru do it? Had he defeated the Arashikage? Ah, wait but what was that on his arm raised above him. The notorious shield making a second appearance. Soraru's disbelief would then be met with the expectation.
Rising from the tips of his toes in an almost cartoonish manner did the Arashikage stand-up and dust himself off with hardly a scratch raising the question if he really was made of rubber. He'd cough up a black cloud and his hair looked like that one scientist from the movie involving going back to the future. He'd fix his hair and look to where Soraru may have been now. "I have to say. Backing the Arashikage into a corner like that bloop. Not bad. not bad at all..." The sound of shifting metal and cloth as Toso would look at his shield. Visible damage actually reflected on the shield. "Did quite the number on black. I'll have to see to repair it." He'd adjust his glasses and look back to the likely exhausted Soraru. "I do believe after that you've more than earned your previous title back bloop...Soraru.

It was equally the most powerful he felt while also being the most resistance he'd ever felt. Something happened. His chakra surged, and spiritual armor began to form over his body as the assault pressed on. The lower half of his face became obscured as a helmet made up of the Reiken aura appeared. Bracers, armor, an overwhelming spirit. It may have been just another day for the Arashikage, but the honest display of strength did its part in cleaving his way forward. He'd scoff at the words Toso spoke before his final strike, his mind unable to fully process anything. That was always a double-edged sword for him. It was nice to turn his brain off when it was necessary, but he could get too swallowed up in the flow of combat to acknowledge his surroundings.
Thunder roared and lightning struck. Dust began clouding the area and Soraru worked against his combat instinct to jump back instead of continuing his assault. He dropped to a knee the moment his feet hit the ground, feeling the effects of their battle more than ever. It was over. He could make a defense maybe, but it'd be impossible to counterattack if Toso put even nearly the same amount of effort he did in defending that samurai's assault. The wind left his blades and only the faint crackle of lightning remained on their surface. It was getting more difficult to keep his arms in the primary stance he'd taken on, but there wasn't any time to rest yet. The squid kage had already proven to be incredibly effective at utilizing Soraru's expectations against him, so he'd need to stop himself from moving in so eagerly. Though, it wasn't like he could do much more fighting regardless. His reiken state was fading away, and the dust had begun to settle.
Blue eyes widened when he saw the kage's fallen state, initially being quite taken aback. Still, his heart was kept steady. His expectations were tempered. It was a strong barrage of strikes, but the Arashikage was no doubt made of tougher stuff than what Soraru could dish out. Also, that was a damn stylish outfit and he highly doubted Toso would let it get ruined so easily. His eyes finally caught sight of the shield and everything fell into place. The kage got up in an impressive manner and all the swordsman could do was let out a long breath. The exertion was catching up.
"Glad to hear it, Toso. Can't say I'm too sympathetic towards the shield, though." His tone was breathless, making it all the more obvious how screwed he would have been if any sort of counterattack were to occur. A part of him expected to see red eyes glow on the stupid shield again. "Apartment 201. Never thought I'd end up meeting my mystery roommate like this after all this time." Chakra dispersed from his blades completely along with the Reiken form, and he wasted no time sheathing the weapons. He picked himself up from the ground unceremoniously and faced the leader of his village without reservations.
"I'm going to be getting a change of clothes after this, but is there anything that you need a Jounin of the village for at the moment? I excel in both Shinobi hunting and enforcing law. I noticed that your clone left in a hurry as well earlier and I was curious about that. If you need any help there I'm available for it too." Really, he'd do whatever was requested. Even if it involved teaching Genin or working in a team, there wouldn't be any opposition so long as he was rewarded for his efforts.
It only took a quick look around for him to find where his haori and quiver had blown off to. The latter was extremely heavy, so it didn't surprise him to find that it hadn't gone far at all. Once he finished his interrogative command Kobayashi would see his expressionless eyes begin to tense with surrounding bulged ocular veins. The detective examined the officer's central nervous system as he awaited his response. A steady pulse, no indications of any lies but a hint of nervousness. Nervousness at the idea of possibly striking her? No, that didn't seem to be the case.
Still softly smiling, Kagerou gently released Maeko's hands. She didn't need to keep her finger on that pulse any longer. Motioning to the hospital cot, Kagerou took a seat herself on a nearby seat. "In that case, could we chat a little bit, Maeko?" Kagerou asked, phrasing what she had been ordered to do into a request that Maeko would feel like she had a choice in, "I'd like to know more about you."
As if twirling the cane to direct a band the world around them was swept up in a spiral and vanished. However, shortly after doing so would the sounds of the real world begin to echo. Sirens and individuals within the core compound dispatching. Toso would look around with a sudden curiosity. He'd bring his hand to his temple as what appeared to be translucent screens appeared before him. They revealed images connected to the network of squibs which monitored arashi. Beasts, creatures, the likes of which he'd never before seen. If it wasn't one thing it was another. This was supposed to be a sanctuary and all it takes is one bad apple to spoil the bunch. I thought he was here, and I'm afraid there is a lot of ruckus in the village right now that could use some handling. Monster things, and all that." She smiled at him, too at ease for what she was saying.
She put a hand on the wall beside her in lieu of waiting for his answer, nodding sagely as she received the sensory information. "My, my, there are many big fish here in the compound today. I'm going to stick around a while longer, but I recommend you get out there and fight if you feel well enough now."

Out of frying pan and into the fire. Soraru nodded, fixing the quiver back to his lower back horizontally and slinging his haori over his shoulder. No point in getting blood on it. He wanted to tell the Arashikage about the sealing pot. About his history and what happened to Kaileer. It was knowledge he gave to each of the previous kages out of respect and loyalty. In return, they did their part in not keeping it on file. The village was under attack though and that was the priority. "Right, consider it done. I'd rather not bother the surgeon general when someone out there could be getting hurt, so I'll bandage myself up if I have the time. I'll check the dojo first in case there are any Genin trying to hold out over there. After that I'll clear the civilian areas." He made sure his swords were fastened tightly to his obi and got ready to depart, offering one last sentence as a goodbye. "Don't stretch yourself out too thin, Toso."
His body wanted to recover but the wounds on his back were making it difficult. His hands were also still numb from trying to get through that shield. If it was anything like the disaster several years ago in Kumogakure, he'd still do all he could to help regardless of the circumstances. Walking out of CORE, he hadn't even been paying attention to the woman he saw in the kage's office earlier until she spoke to him. The lighthearted words brought a smile from him. Seems like he's trying to deal with a lot of really intense things all at the same time and he seems like the kind of person who'll keep going 'till he collapses if it means keeping his village safe. He didn't know who "Officer Kosei" was, but he figured they were important due to him being the first one Toso called for.
With his little information spiel wrapped up, he got ready to continue his departure. He could already feel his body start recovering even faster. "Thanks by the way. Soraru Hiraite. I just reclaimed my Jounin position so we may be seeing much more of one another. May the gods walk with you and all that, Kameyo-san." He hurried his way on out of there after that, knowing that he needed to get geared up and ready.

I dunno where my on going techniques went but the Hydra is still attacking the puppets, and his lightning strike armor is still equiped. chakra has been taking out for both's upkeep.
