Chibi Charybdis - Straight and Narrow, Strong Wind

The middle path was skinny, and scary, and the little girl clenched her fists and tried to steel herself. She needed to be brave, like all the other people here. She was Princess Giulia, and she was magical! Just like everyone else here. She belonged! And she wouldn't be scared by what lay ahead. Even if it was dark, and there was loud screechy screaming coming on the wind- coming towards her. It was dark and she could hardly see, and the wind gust knocked the child off her feet; the people behind her weren't waiting, however, and she curled up small for a moment and felt the shaking increase as things fell apart around her.

But she couldn't stay on the ground for long; she shoved herself back upwards as fast as she could, not even taking the opportunity to dust off her hands or check herself for scratches. She had gloves on, and long sleeves, and everything was overwhelming. She needed to get away from the boom-falls behind her by heading to the screechies. Twisting, like... like a really old car? Giulia sniffed, and moved forward again, heading after the last little bit of the closest person to her that she could see.

All paths progressed in the same general direction; they remained three separate paths, but they were all affected by a sudden, strange wind. The breeze was accompanied by an odd, metallic hum pushed against the three groups as if trying to repel them towards their goal. The force wasn’t enough to cause harm, but something was clearly trying to stop them from moving forward.

The faster they ran, the stronger the wind blew. In the distance before them, while difficult to see, the sound of twisting metal and monstrous shrieking echoed.

Behind them, only blackness; the path they had come down already was crumbling. Something glinted high above the group but there was no time to examine; they needed to fight against this wind and try to cover more distance if they didn’t want to wind up falling.
1-3: A gust of wind blows so strongly that it knocks you backwards a few paces. You lose your footing and wind up falling on your rear. You are able to get up, but you have lost valuable time as the wind pummeled you.

Imbrium of Castor - Top path, moderate wind

It was noted that she was out of shape, and really did not like climbing stairs. Pythia was wheezing by the time the wind started to press on her, and her lungs sucked in the metal-twisted air greedily until they could hold no more. She could hear some absolutely horrible sounds, sending a chill down her spine. The wind pushed, and pushed, and the air turned from blessed relief to punishing.

It made it harder to shift her limbs forward, made her brow furrow indignantly. How f-cking dare this shitty little- rage pumped her arms and legs now, indignation fueling her as she shoved her way forward. Upwards, towards the sound, the flickering lights.

All paths progressed in the same general direction; they remained three separate paths, but they were all affected by a sudden, strange wind. Captain Titanite - Top, Moderate Wind

As she ran, long legs eating up as much of the ground as she could manage with the milling, desperate crowd getting in her way, Titanite became aware first of the pressure of the wind- aur was rushing into her lungs harder and faster as she inhaled, and then it was forcing its was against her front. The Captain could feel her limbs slowing between one rotation and the next, lungs over-inflating, and she shifted gears too late, almost tripping over herself in her desperation to brace against the gusts of wind.

The shrieking of metal- making her think of a hacksaw, preparing to cut the limbs from falling trees. Or the limbs from the enemies of the Mirrorscape, perhaps. Shrieking, screaming, tormented; whatever was up there, Titanite wanted no part in it, but it was probably going to be better than whatever lay in the abyss below.

Slowly, she pressed her way forward.

Nether Wallop- On the middle path

The path he was on was sufficiently treacherous and narrow that it really didn't need a strong, awful wind... one that battered him like a gale and staggered him until he slipped on a treacherous piece of footing and fell down, sure his heart had stopped for a moment until his butt and back hit a hard surface, and he did not, as he feared, tumble heels over head into the terrifying void around them. Still, things were crumbling, and that was bad, it was so bad, and he didn't know where anyone was or if people were ok... he just needed to get up.

He needed to get up, and keep running. Phrygia would keep running. Phrygia was smart enough not to waste time looking for an out of shape, sarcastic twig, or he hoped not.

Quote:

8 or higher: Though a breeze pushes at you, you find that you have reached a weak patch of it; it pushes you back just slightly but barely slows you down at all.

Themisto: 10 (5 + 3 + 2) Straight and narrow, strong wind [X]

Sadly, who could be heard in such a din of chaos? Even the Negaverse agents he could see among the bobbing heads were running for their lives. Denebola disappeared and reappeared at intervals, each time bringing Themisto just a moment of relief. His lungs burned and his eyes watered, the super senshi cursing the footwear he'd been stuck with. If he was still a standard senshi, he'd be long dead by now, ankles broken with his limp body sailing into oblivion. It was death down there, he was sure of it.

A sudden gust of wind blew him back and cost him precious time as other people stepped right over him. They weren't about to let some bum like him stop them from survival. He didn't blame them.

Themisto couldn't move until his legs unfroze.

Itsuki: 12 (1 + 10 + 1) Downstairs, strong wind [X]

Itsuki was holding on for dear life, as much as a tiny cat could. Sharatan was kind enough to carry him while he rested momentarily, and all they could do was continue to run among the throng of people. Itsuki was able to take a few moments to look around, finding shards of broken glass and reflective surfaces shining in odd colors in the distance. He'd never seen a place like this before, and never been in so much danger since the youma and Negaverse attacked The Golden Crane in downtown Destiny City, prompting his awakening.

While the cat wasn't the best fighter, he cared deeply for his charges and friends, and resolved not to let Ash-denka and Benedict-sama down. He was about to try running again when a swift wind blew both himself and Sharatan to the ground in an instant.

"UWAAA---" came a yelp, but it was cut short by breathlessness. The lilac point coughed and wheezed in a fuzzy pile atop Sharatan, struggling to catch his breath. Hacking, desperately trying to fill his lungs, Itsuki tossed and turned atop the senshi until he could breathe again. "PHUH... Shara... Shara-san, daijobudeska??"

Kallichore: 19 (5 + 11 + 3) Downstairs, strong wind

The suspicious lack of Dark Mirrors definitely confirmed things for Kallichore, and she was already trying to formulate a plan. If Ares was standing at the end of this chasm, waiting for them, she and Scylla would have a few choice words for the Dark Mirror Queen. That haughty face, no doubt still as sharp as Kallichore's memory of her, deserved more than the senshi could describe. How many lives had the Queen taken from people, all in the name of satiating loneliness?

She couldn't dwell too long, as harsh wind practically blew her over. Scylla's grip was lost as Kallichore stumbled backwards into the crowd, gasping for breath. She covered her head with her arms, coughing, hoping no one would trample her too badly. She understood survival. She understood the instinct to run.

But this was costing precious time.

Caleb: 14 (6 + 8 + 0) Downstairs, strong wind [X]

Gravity was certainly working in his favor, he thought. All around him, people were tumbling into oblivion. Who knew what horror lurked beneath the smoky darkness that surrounded them? Like the Rift, deep in the Negaverse, Caleb didn't care to know. He didn't want to know what might become of him if he should lose his footing and slip away. Makayla and the thought of seeing her again was what kept this normally-cowardly man afloat, all things considered.

Perhaps he should have powered up here? He couldn't do such a thing while trapped in the room, try as he might. Powering up here, while running for his life and among throngs of people considered to be his enemies might have been a worse decision than throwing himself off the path. Despite the fact that everyone present seemed to be focused on survival instead of fighting, Caleb couldn't bring himself to risk it.

Even so, a supernatural wind shocked the lot of them, tearing the very breath from his lungs. Caleb swung to the right and took to his knees, gasping for sweet breath as other people stampeded around him. Curling into a ball, it took several precious minutes to get life pumping through his veins again and he rose to continue. He could see other Negaverse agents among this hoard of people, which meant... the Negaverse had nothing to do with this. The senshi he'd seen were just as terrified as everyone else, though the lack of Dark Mirrors made this whole thing quite suspicious.

Didn't they have an alliance? No matter, now wasn't the time. Keep moving!

Sutai: 21 (10 + 5 + 7) Upstairs, moderate wind [X]

The only thing keeping Sutai going was the thought that she could save someone else, even though Susquehanna and his Page friend had slipped through her hands. She doubted herself immensely and wondered if all hope had abandoned them. Her Princess wasn't here, Miss Delphi, Mister Alphubel... she'd lost Susquehanna to some demon possessing his mind, she was sure of it.

The wind came as a surprise and the squire yelped, falling to her butt in an instant. A wail was let loose from her lungs though her fluffy tutu broke her fall. Sniffling, Sutai was slowly losing her grip on things as she rose again on wobbly legs to continue the journey. The Princess wouldn't have given up here, would she? No, she wouldn't! ...but Sutai wasn't Princess Polaris. She didn't have the inner strength and warmth that Polaris possessed. This was why Polaris was a princess, and Sutai was not.

What was the point if she couldn't save anyone?

Super Sailor Chara of Chocolate

You know what? THIS was why Chara didn't often go out of his way to help Civs. Well, okay, that was a lie, he DID go out of his way, but it was more of a Batman style, 1 - 2 real quick step, in and out like the dark knight he was. Cept not really. But either way, he scowled and he scowled hard at the man as he let him go.

"I'm 17 you ******** p***k...." As much as he was tempted to give the guy a whap, he had to remember that this man was just some civ. Probably not even a real powered person who just happened to get trapped here. And.... Well, he was about 98% certain that Oberon wouldn't be happy if he randomly sent a grown a** man flying so he tucked his pride away for right now. Come stable ground, all bets were off.

"Honestly, I don't have a ******** clue. We were just doing our thing, then we were sucked in here like some freaky hungry hippo s**t." Even as pissed as he was, he kept an eye on the man, on Oberon, and on the others that were near him, wondering just how they were going to get out of here.

There was a sudden strong gust that came by, but Chara held firm, heel digging into the cracking platform and using it to stabilize himself. For how long, he didn't know.

Lieutenant Strengite

Strengite sashayed down the path, use to dealing with much thinner walkways then the one she was on now. Besides balance was pretty integral to her hobby, poledancing took a lot of skill and muscles. Anyone who didn’t say so was lying… or a guy who just wanted to she her prove it. She kept back for the most part from Chaldene and his little blonde girlfriend, no point int alerting him to her presence before she really wanted too. Messing with him had been fun, he blushed so easily, so Strengite was looking forward to extending the enjoyment for a little while longer.

As the sound started and the wind kicked up the lieutenant didn’t really do much besides slow down slightly and place her feet a little bit more deliberately. She could hear the two talking but honestly only caught a bit of what Chaldene was saying, not much what the girl was. It didn’t matter really since Strengite didn’t care, she barely reacted at all when the girl suddenly slipped. A brow rose when it looked like she would go over the edge, and for a brief moment it was tempting to just push her right over, but when she practically landed right at her feet Strengite smiled. A knowing smile, a pleased smile… a twisted smile.

With a yank the older woman set the girl back on her feet and only chuckled at the slapps at her hands she received for her troubles. “But darling… I like touching,” She practically purred. Like the boy, Strengite wasn’t interested in this little chit of a senshi. Not for anything more than a way to amuse herself, to kill time, and to torment a few of the so called do gooders of the city. She couldn’t hold back the chuckle when the kid hurried to catch up to Chaldene and when she was certain the boy spotted her Strengite blew him a kiss. This was fun.

Antares

“Yes, a leash. It’s the only way to keep you out of trouble!” The young blonde snapped at him, her arms crossed and her toe tapping against the path. “You might be older but I can still kick your a**.” That might be stretching it a bit. Chaldene did have more access to his world’s magic then Antares did but she fought dirty. However the guy had more physical muscle then she did so it might actually be more of a even fight if they ever did more than just spar. “Just go already. We don’t have a lot of time you know!” It was a moot point anyway since the Eternal was already making his way down the narrow path he had chosen for them, Antares following muttering unkind things under her breath.

It wasn’t that she disliked him, she didn’t. It wasn’t that she looked down on him, she didn’t. It was just that she saw him as someone she needed to protect. He seemed to get into so much trouble by himself. He needed someone who wasn’t afraid to get into a fight or to hit first and ask questions later. He needed a freaking collar and leash just so he wouldn’t get into any predicaments without her around to lend a hand. He needed a keeper.

The blonde hunched her shoulders against the wind that was picking up, her hair whipping around her face. She grimaced at the sound that was wailing in the distance, it didn’t bode well. Stupid boy. Dragging them both into this mess. “You're not hearing things. Sounds like a robot godzilla screeching, or a kid learning to play a violin… badly.” She shouted back, not certain if he would actually hear her since she was shouting into the wind. Wind that was even now tugging at her uniform with so much force she had to focus on her steps. She looked up just once when Chaldene voiced his worry and that had been a bad idea.

Antares had taken a step forward when Chaldene called back to her a second time, she wasn’t looking where she was placing her feet and before she could do more then open her mouth to comment her heal twisted beneath her as it skittered off the edge of the extremely narrow path. For one heartstopping moment it was if everything just stopped, and then she was falling.

Falling backwards that is.

Whatever God was looking after her had decided that rather then slip off the path and into the void below Antares was going to land on her a** several steps behind where she had been. Gasping, trying to control her racing heart, all the senshi could do was sit there a moment and gap in shock at nearly falling to oblivion. She didn’t have long to contemplate her narrow escape of death before she was being physically hauled to her feet like a bag of flour. Only her shock kept her from striking out until her feet were beneath her.

“Get your hands off me!” Snapping out of it Antares slapped at the hands that were still on her and glanced over her shoulder to see a negaverser standing there with a creepy a** grin on her face. “Don’t touch me!” If the white haired chick was closer she would have gotten more than a few slapps. Hurrying to get away from her and the strange look on her face, Antares rushed towards Chaldene. “Go! Go, go, go! I think I would rather face whatever is making that noise then that… that… woman,” she practically hissed out that word, “behind us.”

Mlinzi

Mel liked the petting, he always enjoyed a good scratch, even if they were in dire situations. Still though, it wasn’t really protecting her if he was being toted around like a bag of potatoes. He was a guardian, he should be guardianing. “I’m guessing the mirror space since I got sucked in from the bathroom mirror. One minute I was making sure my whiskers were clean the next falling through empty space. Boy was that unpleasant.” He rumbled in annoyance before drifting into a purr. He really did enjoy a good pat. “Behind the ears please,” he muttered as he settled into her arms. He will get down in a little bit, after she was more comfortable with the situation of course.

Even as her fingers drifted over his fur his ears were picking up a metallic noise. A hum almost. And a strange breeze. Why would there be a breeze in the mirror space? Was there other weather as well? Snow? Rain? Hail? Wasn’t there a prince or something of Hail? Could he be here on this strange journey? He never did answer Mel’s questions when the cat asked a deluge of them before they went to the negaverse to kick some dragon a**. That dragon had been cool! All fire breathing and huge and murdery and Mel had scored a hit on it. He had launched off a nega general to get some serious air and actually hit the dragon.

His rambling thoughts were yanked back to their current predicament as a loud shriek seemed to echo through the empty space surrounding the stairs. Mel’s ears flattened slightly, dislike at that sound was almost as bad as the screech that mosquito made when Lacerta whacked it with a golf club. “Uh, um, yeah thats cool. Just be careful. I’m not light you know.” He didn’t like his odds against the wind that was yanking on them pretty consistently at this point but it was probably better than hers since he would be closer to the ground. Even as scattered as he was, Mel understood that he was more like a security blanket right then. Something he was ok being for right then but if whatever was making that god awful racket showed up all bets were off.

Arthur Quinton aka Quinn

Quinn did his best to hurry along, aware that the destruction was just following them. Their path crumbling behind them like one of those timed levels in super mario brothers. He hated those levels and he hated this. It was twisted and messed up something fierce. “Be careful Rae.” He was doing his best to offer her courage but wasn’t sure just how well that was being conveyed. He never meant to drag her into this messed up life he had. It was why he never wanted her to move her but it was too late for that now. She was here, in the city and in this hellscape, so he would protect her. Even if it cost him everything.

He gave her hand a reassuring squeeze as the wind picked up and the howling of some type of metallic creature echoed in the mirror space they were traversing. “It will be alright. Everything will be ok.” Not sure exactly who he was talking to, himself or her, but he still said it. Just the knowledge that she was here where he could protect her was enough. “I’ve got you Rae, you can do this.”

Hopeite: 2 + 7 +1 = 10

Where was this wind coming from? Hopeite had half a mind to duck behind the larger senshi and use her as a windbreak. Unfortunately, her pride got the better of her and she pushed on, only to be shoved back by the gale force hurricane currently battering her on her trek to get the ******** out of there. It tossed her back like a ragdoll and she landed hard on her a**. She could feel her tailbone bruising as she smashed against the floor, wincing painfully at the sensation.

Anger flared to life inside of Hopeite's gut and propelled her forward, pressing back against the winds with loud curses, only to have to sound swallowed by the sound of the wind.

Guardian Cat Theodore

"Falling up hurts more!" Theodore decided as Caia carried him. He could remember too many times where he'd been prancing up the stairs only to slip and knock his chin. Wind threatened to rattle them both and for the first time since he had arrived in this horrible place, he was grateful that he didn't have his hat.

What if it had been knocked off and fallen over the edge!

There was a low hissing whine from him as he buried his face into the crook of Caia's arm, ears flat against his head and barely peeking over shirt. . Clearly distraught claws kneaded into the soft flesh of his arm.

"Okay, hurry up I don't like this."

Right up until this mean and nasty gust of wind knocked her on her a**. Landing with an oof she had to wince as several people stomped over her hair. Gathering it all up so she could stand was a struggle and then, someone's shoulder cuffed her and--

Danny (-1)

Danny was starting to feel like a terrible boss.

He'd lost Kat among the crowd, then through the paths. It was dark all around and voices carried over voices, making it terribly hard to pick out a familiar one from the crowd.

Opening his mouth to call her name, he almost choked on his own words as a sudden breeze suddenly pushed at him from seemingly out of nowhere. He kept his head down and shoved forward, one arm over his face as he struggled to walk.

He was definitely going to have to give the poor woman a raise, if they both made it out of this.
