Elex Yorke

With the last of the areas searched, Elex doubled back to the entrance tables to declare his results. Only two eggs found spoke of a low completion rate, but that didn't matter - he met at least one other denizen of DC today, and discovered that much of the youth population found egg hunting socially acceptable. His mother would be satisfied, too.

After surrendering his results, Elex waited long enough for a winner to be declared and offered his applause for the affair. Afterward he would return home to give the unconscionably detailed progress report to his mother.

Mags Butler - Isn't Quitting Her Day Job to Be a Treasure Hunter

So the hunt hadn't been as successful as she'd have liked, but having waffles in her stomach and a friend by her side, Mags wasn't deterred.

"Sure, we can go wherever!" She agreed happily as the two girls headed towards the gathering crowd. Mags didn't mind if there weren't goodies - after all, whatever she'd win would have to be hauled around the city until she could get back home 'nyway.

At the mention of meeting someone new, Mags did the proper thing - both hands flew up to readjust her ponytail holder and then went back down to straighten up her flannel shirt and undershirt. After all, she wasn't raised in a barn... just next to one!

As Kodi approached the gentleman, she sing-song called for him. Could it be a fella she was chasin' after, maybe?

"Howdy!" One hand flew up and waved vigorously. "Ah'm Mags!"

Kirra Morrow – final total: 0 eggs (T _ T)

Kirra followed Briar to the computer lab, full of optimism for the last lap of the hunt. It would be easier now she’d seen his photos, and knew how big the eggs were. There was no point looking in teeny-tiny corners or in the computer disk drive, for instance. But for all their searching, there was just no egg to be found.

She returned to Briar’s side, as crestfallen as a child without a crest could be, empty-handed, and moped while he texted his other friend.

Then he said the magic words.

“Yes!” her response was instant and heartfelt. “I would love a cookie! Let’s get cookies!”

Briar made everything better! And he found heaps of eggs – maybe he won! “I’ll come with you,” she added, wanting to watch him hand in the photos and find out how well he’d done.




Gigi Gennaro - Exit

Gigi turned in her egg-selfies at the desk and thought no more of the hunt while she scanned the crowd for her bright-haired cousin – until her name was called amongst the list of winners. Apparently her gotta-catch-em-all instincts were still in working order. Though if three was enough to make it to the finalists, the hunt must have been more difficult than she’d expected.

Her cousin’s name wasn’t called, but she did notice Briar’s was, and that made her smile too. Good for him!

The prize itself was one of the eggs she hadn’t found, and the colour and pattern were lovely. She tipped it gently to its side to read the artist’s name. It was a little too big for her collectables shelf, but she would definitely find a place to display it. Hopefully her cousin had enjoyed herself enough not to get jealous, because it was too big to hide in her handbag from the ten-year-old. She had a few errands she could run around campus, maybe she should sneak it back to her car first? After all, there was egg-painting set up for the kids now, so Kirra would probably want to stay a while longer.

Candice Shermon - Exit

Candice hadn't managed to find any eggs, but it was okay. She had been late to the festivities and it was her fault and not anyone else. Okay maybe she could blame whoever hid the eggs.

She clapped for the winners of the hunt as they were announced. Part of her felt like she should have been a bit sad at not winning anything, but they were just eggs after all, right? If they were delicate at all, her furbaby would have destroyed it on accident (or possibly on purpose...) anyways.

When she saw there was a table to paint her own egg, Candice did so, just to have a memento of her own for the day. It was simple, she painted it in the colors of her fuku dashed with white dots and a small mask on it. She signed her name and year on the bottom of it with a black sharpie.

Maybe next year she could hold an egg hunt for the Medical department or something. The idea made her smile as she pondered if she should head home or go elsewhere.

Kathryn McAdams - Exiting

Kathryn still was handling her egg as she nodded to Chailee, Abbot and the nervous Finch before letting her gaze take in the table where people could design their own eggs to take home. It was tempting to sit down and paint a few like in years gone by. This time though she would have to pass up on the activity. The ceramic egg that she now delicately held was to be her only prize from the day. It had been worth coming here for such a fun event.

Tucking a strand behind her ear Kathryn listened to the conversation on going between one of the organizers and a possible participant as she passed the sign in table. Her mind was busy, trying to mentally find a place for her egg in her room at home. Most likely it would sit somewhere near her bed but that wasn't a firm decision yet. Kathryn exited the DCU grounds and began the trek to the closest bus stop that would allow her to get home. As she waited Kathryn traced the pattern on her egg with her finger before placing it gently in the bag that she had brought with her. It covered most of the egg and she set it gently on the bench beside her. Soon she'd be home and find the perfect spot for her "trophy."
