From as far as Charlie could see, they weren't alone. Right in front of him was a graveyard of airplanes and wrecked ships. He backed up some. "Claire we have to go the other-"
Darkness over came him.


'He's coming to. . .Charlie . . .Charlie are you okay?"
Charlie blinked a few times and slowly sat up, moaning as a pain ran thorugh his head. "What happened? Where am I?" He asked.
"You're back at the camp. Charlie, where's Claire and the baby?" Jack asked.
Charlie looked around. Sawyer, kate, Locke, Boone, Sayid, and everyone else were looking downa t him.
"Charlie." Jack snapped.
Charlie looked over at him. "What do you mean? Isn't she here?"
Jack frowned. "You don't remember? You took her and the baby into the jungle. . . We found you about a mile away, to the South. Claire and the baby weren't with you."
Charlie's heart collided to his rib cage. "Then where are they?" he asked.

"Charlie was taken by the others . . .I had only enough time to save you and the child." Ethan replied, walking over to her. "I think your people found him, no doubt he'll come looking for you. When he does . . ." Ethan crushed a coconut under his foot, then smiled at Claire.

Charlie sat there, taking deep breaths. "I-I don't remember . . .I . . ."
"Charlie, who took Claire?" Jack asked.
Charlie closed his eyes and began to think. "Um . . .I . . " Suddenly a picture flashed through his mind. Ethan. "It was Ethan. He took Claire." Another picture flashed. "There were others . . .people . . .they took me from Claire . . .they took me into one of the airplanes . . .they . . ." he closed his eyes. "I . . .I can't remember Jack."

"I won't have to harm him. He'll do it himself. You see, when I attacked him, the knife I cut his throat with had hullisinagentics in it. He's seeing things. Hearing things. He'll come after you alright. And kill you." Ethan hissed.

Charlie was left sitting by himself while Jack and th eothers talked. "He can't remember much." Jack replied. He looked over at Sawyer and Kate. "I think something is wrong with him."

Ethan nodded. "But more importantly I did what I did so that he could fulfill what is needed of him. He'll come, and he'll kill the child. And then I shall take the child's remains . . . " Ethan trailed off, grinning widely at Claire.

Ethan grinned. "Oh . . .but he will."

Charlie rocke dback and forth. There were voices now. They were closer. Saying that they were going to kill Claire and the baby. He closed his eyes. Whyw as this happening? It was like this was all a bad dream. What was happening?
"Charlie . . ." A voice whispered. "Go after them . . ."

When Jack and the others got back to Charlie, he had vanished. "Where is he?" Jack asked, looking around frantically.

Charlie ran through the jungle. The voices guiding him to Claire and the baby. He stumbled once or twice and also thought baout going back, but once Charlie makes up his mind about something, he sticks to it.


Ethan grinned to Claire. "He's coming."

Charlie saw Ethana nd ran up to him. Beating him and cussing at him, pounding his face into the ground. "WHERE ARE THEY? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH THEM?" He shouted.
Ethan grinned up at him. "They're dead."
Charlie stopped, fist in mid-punch. "What?"
"They're dead. I killed them."
Charlie shook his head. "NO!" He shouted and got up, running to where the voices told him to go.

Charlie stared at them. He shook his head. Ethan said that they were dead.
"It's not them . . . ."
"It's the others . . . "
"They're playing with your mind . . ."
The voice were telling Charlie. Charlie glared at Claire and the baby and grabbed her tightly by the arms. "WHERE'S CLAIRE AND THE BABY?"
