Hmm, well, I have to complete the mission, so, I find a traveling salesman, pay him to ferry to children back to Iwagakure, where I'm sure the powers that be can find some use for them. If not, I will make sure the children make it to Iwagakure. That way, I can both complete the mission, and possibly have some Genin for the Village to use. Eliminate the target in the shadow of darkness, take the target's position, and reap the supposed rewards. Unexpected bonuses for the Village is a bonus for me. If not, I am prepared to murder both the target and the children to make sure the mission is done. Three days doesn't give me a lot of time to ferry these supposed children, so, eliminating all of them for efficiency might end up being the best option.
A ninja is resigned to carry out what he must.
....Did I answer that right?

no not really... Its kindof weird that you'd go find some potential ***** or child seller to leave a bunch of children with instead of just contacting home or konoha. I mean you've got 3 days. You could at least tip the police in the area off or something or ask me some additional questions because you're some perceptive person who needs more details.

I kind of crossed those options off, since I'd assume that whoever I'm hunting is a criminal or something. There is no way to know exactly how long it would take to make contact to home or Konoha. Also, you don't just find a child seller like that. And I would not know how far into the country we'd be, either. No, I know there are merchants with good hearts. Paying that merchant to take these supposed kids back to Konoha instead of killing them is a more merciful approach. Regardless, this is a mission that needs more details; I just thought I was supposed to go off of little information. You know, make a judgement call with little to no information.

doesn't matter if they are a criminal or not really since the tsuchikage gave the orders.

You could always ask how long it would take

The first undercover businessman you happen to find near a place with 20 kids?

You didn't ask about the location

Why not pay konoha to take them?

You didn't ask for details.

Would chunin be ok?

Chunin is fine. That was my original plan. The only problem I have now is that the Hozuki Clan is limited to Mist. How would my character end up in Iwa?

It would be a bit suspect but it wouldn't be entirely unrealistic that he could end up in Iwa. You may want to consider the possibility of him simply being in Iwa without being from Iwa but he wont have the opportunity to formally advance in rank until we come into contact with Kirigakure or wherever he is from. Lots of people flee from many places. Kirigakure should have had people running away either way since they are constantly dealing with corruption.. like not the black stuff just dirty business.

The real problem is how will he survive with corruption in the water in a mountain region. He sure as hell isn't hanging out in the bath house without a chaperone lol

My original idea was to have my Character's father, Shengetsu, sent my character to Iwagakure to 'toughen him up'. How about, his father was instead involved in exposing corruption within the village, and to protect my young character, sent him Iwagakure after making a deal with the Tsuchikage? Sounds good?

You still have to explain how he did this. One does not simply send a kiri shinobi out without Kiri finding out. And if they ask for the kid back and we say no it becomes kidnapping or aiding criminals. Or if they deem the guy a missing nin it could get worse.

how'd the father get permission to send Kirigakure or whoevers assets to Iwa?

OK, how about, to avoid this potential problem, we set so this incident of the Father exposing corruption happen when the character is young, you see, and is not yet enrolled as a Shinobi. That way, not only can the father contact the Tsuchikage for assistance, they can move to Iwagakure without any problems. This way, Kirigakure wouldn't even know, since my character wouldn't have graced their records, so to speal. It wouldn't be a kidnapping or missing nin case then. I think that's a sound series of events.

Rule of thumb

If you live in Kirigakure and you contact Iwagakure, kirigakure knows something is up. I guess its possible if the father wasn't a shinobi but it'd be kindof weird for someone from a known clan with distinguishing physical traits to be able to do this so easily.

Iwa and Kiri aren't on the best terms either historically. Its like the CIA vs the mob. Both are kindof dirty and have a bone to pick with the other even if they work together sometimes.

But its technically allowable for a chunin to travel from one place to another. I think the more practical solution would be to have him be a member of Kiri and be stationed in Iwagakure for the most part. He'd be kindof stranded but then he'd also be at work. As far as I can tell you don't need a formal advancement in rank to actually get stronger in this guild but you'd have to apply for a chunin level job for the Mizukage in that case. Probably a diplomat or researcher. Iwa has a use for both. Shikamaru nara was an ambassador when pain attacked and he was a chunin. That would make him 15-17 years old at the time though that may have been because he was porking going out with the kazekage's sister

So, in essence, my character would be Kirigakure ninja, just answering to Iwagakure for diplomatic reasons. Or rather, answering to the Mizukage for diplomatic reasons, essentially making the character a diplomat ninja. Alright, I'm cool with that, if you are. I'll edit my profile accordingly, I think.

yes but don't forget to quote the Mizukage and expect to get dragged into research jobs and be watched a lot I suggest simply stationing yourself at the coastal research facility which will eventually be part of a joint village network anyways.

That puts me in a weird middle ground, now that I think about it. I guess I'll quote the Mizukage here, to make it more simple. Simple enough, if I do it right.

"looking" is a word for it I guess. The position exists. It will inevitably be filled as long as the guild is active. I'm not actively searching, if someone wants to apply there is a test or another path to take.

Leveling up in this guild seems excessively easy btw for those who don't know

The tsuchikage has ordered you to go west and search for something. There is no time limit nor is a distance given. You are simply to go west and search for something. You will have 10 people with you and if you don't find it the world will end.

What do you do and why?

I would ask what I am searching for because "something" could be anything thus I could bring back the wrong thing without realizing it. Information is crucial to a search mission.

I would want info on the 10 people that are coming with me. Different skills, jutsu, strengths, weaknesses, etc. If I'm doing this with a team I need to know where to send these ninja to use their strengths to the fullest while covering their weaknesses as well.
