Buffel is attacking the Rogue Scientist!

HP:35/40

You see the scientist scuttling around in the shadows, scribbling on the floor. The scene they're illustrating seems to involve a lot of flames, and exploding bits of metal. As you creep up on them, they spin around and point a crayon at you. As you stare them down, they leap forwards, ramming the harmless writing implement hard into your eye, causing you to see stars and pain.

Thundering through the door, The Spirit burst through, Buffel clinging to his back. Hearing the commotion, The Spirit followed it, dashing through the smoke of the hallways until reaching a dimly lit one with less smoke and a figure on their hands and knees before them. Flickering in the light was the scientist, apparently having momentarily retreated to scribble more of their insane ramblings. Hearing the patter of footsteps, they looked up at the Yellowblood and his lusus. Their eyes were wild and set behind lopsided glasses. Without warning, The Spirit shook Buffel off with surprisingly rough force as he charged the scientist. Losing his grip, Buffel was flung galley west into the wall with a crash.

”Oi, Spirit, why would y-”

Buffel froze in place, having matched eyes with his lusus.

Spirit had turned back to him, eyes cold and angry. He'd never recieved such a stern glare before and The Spirit made it clear this encounter was different than his hunting trips that always came with traps and safe distances. In this hallway, there was Buffel, his lusus, and someone who would do him harm, and The Spirit was forbidding him from taking another step forward.

With his guard dropped, the scientist had grabbed their writing utensil by the dull end, peeling off wildly from their prostrate position, going from scrambling on all fours to a gait-like run. Arm poised to slash down, The Spirit turned back to his adversary in time to receive a sharp pain directly in his right eye. Yelping in pain, he doubled back, before snapping his jaw wildly in front of him, managing a single weak bite to the wrist that was easily shaken off.

”SPIRIT!!!”

Buffel's pained cry rang through the hallway. He ran full tilt to his lusus's side, taking The Spirit's head in his lap as he gingerly took each side of the tricksy howlbeast's eye and pulled it open to survey the damage. Blood swirled around the whites of the beast's eyes, and he pulled away from Buffel sharply, letting a small growl escape before hushing it. Buffel softly laid his head back to the ground. The Spirit seemed either unable or unwilling to stand up in his pain. Buffel however, was up with his left hand affixed to his holster. The scientist had fled. Buffel listened to the clattering of footsteps, found the hallway they had been sourced from, and stepped briskly, his gun drawn.

Leeroi laid down some more hot hustle, trailing behind the drones to keep their work ethic up, and checking up on the nearby bots to make sure they were still operating at full capacity. With so much work going into the space ladder, everyone needed to be doing their best in the name of progress! And, kicking Civisect's a**.

He placed one of his gerbils, Showoff, on one of the more faulty floor-cleaning bots, and assigned her to the task of keeping a close eye on the bot. Being a good gerbil, she did just that. Or at least Leeroi assumed so. It could have just been she was too afraid to get down while the bot was moving.

Leeroi made more progress on his plea for a Gerbil Space Program, emphasizing their smaller size would make it so less materials were spent in construction, and could therefore be used for a larger number of tests. The only complaints with his ideas were that the gerbils were perhaps not intelligent enough to pilot the spacecraft. Leeroi was offended by the implication.

At the very least, Brainz would be capable of taking on a space mission! But they were right about the others... They needed more mental training. But Leeroi could change that. He drafted up a strict intelligence training schedule for his fluffy white friends, knowing just how to up their game. With treats!

Buffel is attacking the Rogue Scientist!

HP:31/40

Damage Dealt: 3 (1 dice roll, +2 modifier)

You follow the soft cooing noises to the scientist, hiding under a few upturned boxes, stroking a stapler. They react by stapling your leg a few times and crying weakly, before skittering off into the shadows. Take 4 dmg, do +2 damage with your attack.

Stalking after the scientist, Buffel stopped at an intersection at the sound of soft humming amidst a sea of boxes. Fashioned like a crude box fort, Buffel saw the scientist crouched over something, humming softly to it. Aiming his six-iron assuredly at the whitecoat he yelled, "Hey! Look at me! I'm gonna fix you good for what you done to The Spirit, y'hear?!”

Sidling past the boxes and into the fort, he saw the scientist had been hunched over a stapler, cooing sweet nothings into its nonexistent ear. Buffel's stance softened in confusion.

"What in the...?”

He looked at this troll with a glint of pity, trying to understand what could make him act this way. Then he thought of The Spirit and steeled his nerves, recalibrating the aim he held on the scientist. His knees weak and his fingers struggling, Buffel was poised to pull the trigger. Quickly jerking in fear at the last second, Buffel pulled and fired a shot-

-right into the stapler. The heat of the bullet whizzing by hit like a sting to the scientist's ungloved hands, and as they recoiled the stapler clattered to the ground. Their eyes darted quickly to the boy, and before he could react they snatched the stapler up and were upon him, managing to land a hit into Buffel's leg as the tears welled in their eyes. Buffel wailed backwards in pain, landing on the boxes behind him, crushing some. this only seemed to further enrage the scientist, who smacked a the yellowblood's face with the corner of the metal stapler, opening up a long, deep wound across the left of his face. He raised his hands in defense when the boxes behind him burst forward past him: It was the newly blinded Spirit, who bit ferociously into the arm of the deranged scientist. Screaming in pain, their attempted shake-off of the offending howlbeast led to their smacking him into the lighted panels next to the two. After giving The Spirit a good head thrashing a few times, who tossed the creature on top of the incapacitated Buffel. With that, the scientist sped off, rounding the corner and dropping their bullet-skewed idol behind them.

You fail to see the scientist, until a shaky battle cry makes you look up and see them, crouched on top of a processing bank. You raise your hands up to defend yourselves as they rock back and forwards, ululating, until they tip the bank over onto you. Take 4 dmg.
Forera dealt 3 damage to the Rogue Scientist.

It was amazing how batshit insane one could be. Forera realized that now after slowly approaching the crazy science guy, hand curled into a fist while she murmured words of comfort. Y'know, t'help him?? Forera didn't know, she was trying, at least. She continued searching in emptiness for some sort of sign, but she was given no clue until the man was already screaming a battle cry, tipping something over and-- Forera snarled a curse, pulling her foot back in anger. At least he showed her where he was. With a trained foot, the tealblood flexed her foot before slamming it into his side, glaring. Maybe that'd make him sane.

If you rolled a 6, you hear a hissing sound, and turning around, see the disheveled scientist staring out at you from under a table. As you slowly approach, they give an incomprehensible scream and kick out wildly, striking at you before scuttling away on all fours, yipping in fear with their rear predominantly exposed. Take 3 dmg. Your attack does double dmg.
Forera dealt 10 damage to the Rogue Scientist.

Forera managed to tail him, tracking his trail of messes he'd made, prepared for one hell of a fight. She wanted to pummel him to the ground, especially after tipping that thing onto her foot! It ached now, and Forera had no time for resting. Damage to her body meant damage to her soul! She needed revenge. Forera cracked her knuckles again, flexing her fists before keeping them close and approaching him, prepared to punch. His scream disoriented her, sure, but after he hit her, Forera slammed a hand into his back with an intense amount of strength, jumping up and down with energy. Hey, might not've been fair, but this wasn't exactly a fair fight, y'hear??

Forera dealt 6 damage to the Rogue Scientist.

Forera felt ready and calm. With a steady gait, the tealblood wandered the area, searching for her science buddy with a fist full of friendship. She was ready to be done with it. Hearing some scuttling to the side, Forera shuffled over slowly, keeping a slow and steady pace so that he didn't hear her. Was he... drawing? Forera's eyes stared at the scene on the floor, squinting at the flames and shocking her with how dangerous it looked. Did he want to do that to the factory? Forera wrung up her hand, but before she could slam her fist into anything, the teablood saw the scientist quickly grab a crayon and before she could do anything, the troll slammed it into her eye. Forera screeched, punching him in the gut. "You BUCKET HEAD!" Forera snarled in anger, grasping her eye. She'd been crayola'd. How ridic was that?!

She was getting sick and tired of being pushed and stabbed and ATTACKED like this. Forera slipped her piercings on carefully, and with two prepared punches, the tealblood was ready to slam her fists into the face of whatever troll decided to come up to her. Forera was finally ready. She stalked up to him and lunged, flinging her fist at him like a thunder crack, missing the first time but managing a solid hit the second. Forera grinned. Well, that was what he got for messing with Forera Serpen! YEAH!

Forera dealt 8 damage to the Rogue Scientist.

Forera ran after the scientist as he ran away, clenching her teeth in anger and grabbing the nearest pole in anger. She wanted to kick him in the rear, feeling her anger burn to a boiling point, honing it to give more oomf to her fists. At last, she'd managed to corner him. "Don'cha DARE MOVE, y'wiggler." Forera seethed, preparing herself for more hits and approaching the scientist-- Before her view was completely covered in white. It took a minute, but the teal ball of anger managed to free herself, punching and kicking and clawing at everything in her way. What an a*****e!

Forera managed to get a good 2 more hits on him before deciding to tag herself out of the wild goose chase, feeling like hell on wheels with each movement. Maybe today she'd focus on stealing some stuff. She'd heard she could rewrite her info, maybe she could go and do that... A turn in an awkward corner almost had the tealblood bumping into a pile of crushed boxes. The teal blood was instantly alert, feeling like it might've been the scientist again, trailing after her.

Instead, the midblood found a kid with a deep cut along his face and a white howlbeast looking lusi dropped onto of him. Forera's eyes widened. "Oh s**t, hey, hello?! Kid, y'there? Y'alive?" She wanted to help, but didn't want to risk their lusi standing up and attacking her right after, not feeling like she can take any more hits in her body. Instead she approached him wearily. "D'ya need help...?" She didn't have any healing materials, but a quick tear from her jumpsuit could stop that face wound from bleeding, she was sure.

You lift countless supplies onto the loading docks and set them up for transport!

Nictor and Beehemoth were expelled from the research labs as quickly as the techs could push them out. Of course, when someone had tried to pick Nictor up to drag him out, Bee rushed forward to block the scientists. The whole things had turned into an ordeal of techs trying to catch anything Bee knocked over, Nictor hiding his face with his hood and trying to convince Bee to leave, all the while Bee was getting bent out of shape at anyone that got too close to himself or Nictor.

Eventually the pair made it out of the maze of delicate glass, paper, and frazzled white coated trolls. Nictor was nothing but tense and anxious by the end because none of those looks from the scientists were friendly in the least.

He was not eager to run into any scientists again for a while. Bee ushered Nictor back to his room, where the buzzbeast proceeded to fuss over the small scrapes, impeding Nictor's ability to patch himself up more than help.

Once he'd been bandaged though, Nictor convinced Bee to move back to one of the open loading bays where there was actually space for him. Bee helped Nictor load supplies for transport, well away from any of the steel frames and structures being built. This was a lot better than dealing with the nightmare scientist, for sure.

A trundlebuggy gets stuck, and you’re the first responder to help pull it out and get it back on track!

Bee was finally calming down from the fight earlier, only glaring suspiciously at passing drones than trying to crush them with his bulk. At the shift in mood, drones, under the direction of one of the supervisors, began subtly herding Bee out, and, with a stern word from the supervisor, Nictor began reminding Bee once more that the lusus is too big to be in the work areas.

Eventurally, with much reluctance and chittering arguments, the buzzbeast was relocated to outside, but Beehemoth remained close, making drones nervous as he buzzed about the supply transports.

Nictor glanced nervously at the supervisors and was met with an approving nod. It would seem he' wouldn't be getting in any more trouble about Bee right now. The supervisor seemed patient enough though, as they went to ward another large beast from the loading bay. That's what happened when a portion of your workers are child volunteers though.

Nictor jumped when a stray trundlebuggy almost flattened him and hastened to get the thing to where it was supposed to go. At least he could handle this.

Nictor's "accidents and unwanted excitement quota" for the day seemed to have been met by the ordeal with the rogue scientist earlier, as the day from then on was just loading supplies. Monotonous and endless work.

Nictor did accidentally bump a drone who seemed to react very badly to the pollen that rubbed off onto them. Their face puffed up, their nose got runny, and they were sneezing wildly. And when the drone kicked up a fuss, Nictor quickly and quietly relocated to the other side of the loading bay. He'd leave that excitement to the drone workers, thanks.

Hopefully not many drones had that reaction though. Glancing at his hands and the beam he was currently handling, it was easy to see the yellow smudges on the metal. There were traces of Nictor's presence all around, if you just looked for the smattering of pollen. Nictor glanced back at the miserable drone struck down by the ailment of allergies and then hurried along.

Nope, no more excitement today. Not for him.
