While he was insanely excited, Dodger realized that he was now insanely thirsty, and a might bit cold. Pulling at the short sleeves on his jacket, he turned to Eileen. "I'll be back in a few, kay? Gonna find us something to drink." Leaning down, he gave her a peck on the cheek and headed off to find some sort of something stand that had a decent drink. There was water, juice, and cider at some stands, but none of them caught his attention. Then, of then, he found the treasured stand of drink stands! Coffee and hot chocolate! Rushing over, Dodger ordered up a cup of hot chocolate -- complimentary keepsake mug included! -- and took a few steps, mug in paws, to just enjoy the warmth radiating from it. Dodger took his first, slow sip of it. At first it was amazing, but then he began to realize how hot it was going down! "Ack! Hot hot hot!" he howled out, tongue lolling out of his mouth, freeing up a paw so he could fan it.

It wasn't long before Bobbi had found the next place with the last book that seemed to be available for the festival. It was actually somewhat heartbreaking at the fact that there wasn't any others here, but at least there were a great deal of books xe hadn't had before. Being optimistic and such is important... not that Bobbi felt much either way most of the time. Stepping up to the game booth, it was time for the Litch to give xyr best shot to try and win the final prize xe was looking for!
Well, needless to say the first try for the game, Bobbi fell flat on xyr face with it. Did terribly, yet that only fueled xyr fire to try once more. The second round xe fared a bit better, but not good enough to win the wanted prize! One more try... Success! The third time was the charm for Bobbi! Happily accepting the book, xe bowed xyr head in thanks, tucked the book away, took up the cage and called to the little dog, and that was that! Onto... other things. Hmmm...
Camrine continued her shopping spree and picked out a lovely pink solstice light neck lace.
Glykeria walked along trying to figure out what she wanted to do next, she stopped and picked up a blue solstice light neck lace.
Aeon smiled "I hope I will never forget my time at the academy in a good way as well." Anon smiled brightly when Ami pointed out the snow globes. "Oh how pretty" she said looking inside at the little figures building the snow man inside. She picked in the snow globe to shake it to make the snow fall. "I'm just happy to have won a snow globe." She said when she didn't find a sticker to indicate she had won a plushie.
Coco couldn't help her giggle when she went to the booth to ask for Coco knowing her name was Coco. Even though she didn't look like Coco. For that matter Coco wasn't sure why she was named Coco, she just knew she was named Coco. She sat down to be Coco and enjoy her coco.
"Oooo... Kara! Look at these!" Odessa exclaimed as she stared at the cute little necklaces. Her eyes glanced up at the attendant, a small twinkle in them. "May I have one, please?"
Kiessi squeezed their newest haul close to their body, grinning from ear to ear. They were going to study each of their newest little plushies to see how they were made! They wanted to make them for a living when they grew up after all!
At this point it was quite like Odessa to wander off, so it hadn't quite surprised Kara to find her staring at more twinkling lights. Kara giggled softly, but took the offered necklace. "They're cute, thank you." She replied to the worker.
Anara was surprised by the huge plushie that was being offered to her. She blinked, eyes slightly wide at the thing. It took her longer than it probably should have to receive it from the attendant. As she began to wander off a random thought came to her mind, "Drat! This huge thing is only going to get in the way of my loot!" She grumbled to herself when she realized she was going to have to find her caregiver again so that they could hold it for her.
Rorie was walking beside his caretaker when they finally made it to the newest booth. Upon arriving, he found himself staring at one of the snow globes, it looked just like the school!
Kirella wasn't quite sure why her feet had led her back to the school grounds after all these years. She wasn't a student, and she definitely wasn't a teacher.. however, the Gift Giving festival here had been one of her fondest memories growing up. She wanted to see how it had changed and if there were any familiar faces, though she doubted it, everything had changed so much. She stood back, shelling out a few coins for a hot beverage and began to take it all in.

Batholith relaxed. Oh. Right. Other people had other people in his lives...the entire world did not revolve around him. That was actually a comforting thought for him. Being a non-entity meant that he had little power, but it also meant he was in very little danger. He'd trade power for safety any day. He'd tried both. Safety was better.
Bath waved away the person handing out hot drinks. "My arms are too full," he told them. He resolved to get some later, though--it smelled good, and it might be just the thing for a pick-me-up at the end of the festival. Instead, he crossed his arms and watched Mytrax drop the hammer. He grinned and applauded. "Very nice! Jinx you, my as--tail." He took the hammer from her and gave it a few experimental swings. "Last blow," he muttered to himself, and swung the hammer down. He snorted at the result and handed the hammer back to Mytrax. "Okay, you may not have won yet, but neither have I."
Wyrdda watched as another Grimm, a freshling, took her place at the card table. The other Grimm rapped their knuckles on the table and gestured at the attendant...wait...did that mean...? Wyrdda's heart leapt.
She'd been sick the day that Kestrel and Mink visited, but she'd heard rumors about it later. Apparently, the pack back in the Grimm homeland didn't like cripples and the disabled. They had shown reluctance to accept the blind and the deaf into their midst. That's what the rumors said, at least. Whether it was true or not, it had stuck in Wyrdda's mind ever since. She couldn't get the idea out of her head, no matter how hard she tried. Grimms, her own people, the ones she had been desperate to meet since she was a little girl, didn't want her. Her, with her talent and her hard work... So now she paid more attention to her classmates, the ones who displayed some...difficulty compared to other people. The blind, the deaf, and the mute. She wondered if this little Grimm was mute or if they were deaf, and if it mattered. Maybe they were just quiet, though?
Someone handed Wyrdda a snowglobe, which she accepted with a nod and a smile. Then she went back to considering the other Grimm. Well, either way, maybe she could communicate with them. She waited until the younger Grimm was done at the table, sagging as if lonely. She reached out a hand and tapped the freshling on the shoulder.
Are you okay? she signed. Can I help you find someone?
Awww, she had the same earrings! How come Ella always looked so cute? Not that that was a bad thing or anything, of course! Quilo wrapped his hand around hers affectionately and smiled. "Sock puppets sound like fun! So, um, how late am I? Also, I'm sorry I'm late. Startle and Flabbergast decided to have a spat, and I had to break them up." He pulled her in close as the crowds started to thicken, but he let her lead the way. Someone passed Quilo a snowglobe that he cradled in one arm.
Oriset looked around for something to do. It was a Festival, full of Nightmares--it was time to socialize with her hosts, right? She'd sort of been ignoring them throughout the entire affair...she looked around for someone who looked approachable. It was...more difficult than it should have been. Nightmares seemed to come in every shape of terrifying. It seemed like half of their races had enormous claws (the fact that she herself had claws conveniently slipped her mind). There were horns on at least four different races, and black sclerae showed up everywhere. How was she supposed to find one that wasn't...well, a little bit scary?
She settled on a peppermint-striped Demon who was admiring a sparkly necklace. It looked a lot like Oriset's new one, but red instead of yellow. In fact, it looked a little like a chili pepper... She reached out and tapped the Demon on the shoulder. "Hey, is it always this wild around here?" Someone passed her a bundle of candy canes, which she thrust into her pocket.
Anchriesel frowned. He hadn't thought about Ganymede's physical comfort so far...he guessed that sort of made him a terrible boyfriend? He was going to have to change that. He wrapped an arm around Gany's shoulder, careful not to muss up the boa. "If you're cold, then we definitely need to get you some hot cocoa. Your comfort is more important than any game." Ha. Ha. Ha. "Let's get you warmed up, then we can try another game." It hurt him to have to concede to Foras--he felt like he was ceding control to someone vastly irresponsible--but he had an image to maintain, and anyway, he had to endear himself to Ganymede. That meant bowing to his whims.
Chries followed Foras and Alioth, the Geist still tucked under his arm and his tail brushing the back of Ganymede's knees. When they got to the cocoa stand, he stood aside, letting the other three go first while he plucked a bundle of candy canes from a tree nearby. Hey, the sign said free candy canes? Why not?
However, the candy canes were a little heavier than he expected--likely because of the white, blue, and red Flitterrat attached to it. Chries could hardly contain his delight. He loved Flitterrats! He gently pet the little creature on the head; it ignored him, busily chewing on the candy canes. "Would you like to stay with me, dear?" he asked it. It blinked at him. Chries took that as a yes. "Gany, look what I found."
Zalir finally finished zeir hot cocoa and set the mug aside. Zey stacked up zeir books so far and arranged them in zeir bookbag. Nearly the entire set--well, that wasn't half-bad. The mug zey rinsed out at a water-filling station, surreptitiously dumping the water in a nearby potted plant. With the mug rinsed out, zey wrapped it up with the stocking and tucked it away in the book bag next to the books. Next, then, were the plushies, all three of them. Or rather, four--when zey got back to zeir table, none of the plushies had been disturbed, but one had been added--a purple and pink one, along with a copy of Malice in Wonderland. Zalir blinked and looked around, but no one gave any indication of being the mysterious gift-giver.
"Th-th-thank y-y-you!" zey squeaked to the world in general. No one seemed to have noticed. Zalir tucked the book into zeir bag and juggled the four plushies in zeir arms. It was time to go back to zeir dorm and drop off zeir finds.
Okay, so, snowglobe--not precisely his first pick of a trinket, but hey, it was pretty! And it showed a happy scene, with a Demon and an Imp building a snowmare together. Ved smiled. He wished he could have a friend like that to build stuff with him. As it was, he didn't have anybody...Ugh, no. This was a bad way to think. He shook his head, feeling his ears flap against the sides of his head.
He took a look around the room. Okay, that's what he needed--stuffed animals! Something to take his mind off himself. Banana Panda, his beloved stuffed bear, looked lonely on his bed. Now was the time to make Banana a friend... Vederat walked up to a memory game, waiting his turn for his chance to go up. When it was finally his turn, he started overturning cards. He sighed. Only one pair of cards matched... He was given a selection of earrings to choose from. He picked the green ones--he liked green. He clipped them to his ears and moved on.
A potted plant! Well, at least there were some "trinkets" at this event he could enjoy...he was still going to have a terrible time. He knew it. He moved on into the party, sluggishly avoiding large knots of people. Someone must have noticed his plant--or his plantishness--because someone was very quickly handing him another potted plant. He would have said something rude, but honestly, he was sort of running out of energy at this point. And he'd only started! Ugh, the suckiest day ever.
"Yeah, I think I've got... I think I've now got eight pets. Yeah, Trouble, Danger, Mischief, Uncertainty, Distress, Rebellion, Terror, and now Horror." His dormmates would not he happy to find out he'd gotten even more pets. Especially if they were all as noisy as the ones he already had. Oh well. Someday he'd be a junior, and maybe then he could have a room of his own. That would be nice. No one anymore to complain about his collection, and the way he left papers all over the floor and got angry whenever anyone mussed up his origami...it was something to look forward to. Even if he had a roommate, it would only be one roommate instead of five plus a caretaker!
Peri looked at the senior maring the cannon and narrowed his eyes. On the one hand, they were flinging things at people, and people could get hurt. On the other hand, it looked like fun, and if Prometheus--and Ustule--weren't his friends, he'd find this all hysterical. But they were his friends, and somehow...well, he wasn't sure how stuff like that made him feel.
He still wanted to work a cannon like that someday. But he didn't dare admit it. It looked like fun, but not the sort of fun that his friends would enjoy...
Peri blinked. Well, of course he'd known there was a difference between solstices here in Euros and the solstices in Boreas...but he'd never thought to ask about them before. "Well...we make lots of food down here in Euros for the solstice. We put up trees and decorate them with lights and ornaments. We go from door to door singing to each other." He accepted a pair of earrings from the attendant at the door to the house and stepped inside.
"No going from door to door for singing," Ustule said, shaking her head. "Eet ees too cold, end the snow ees too deep. Except on the morning efter the Solstice--thet's when we gether around the tree in the center of town. Thet's when we sing." She smiled sadly. She still felt homesick for the old traditions. The Solstice log, the big decorating party, the potluck... Someone must have seen the sad expression on her face, because the attendant handed her a stuffed animal as well as a snowglobe. She shook the snowglobe gently, watched the snowflakes fall, then shook herself out mentally. "Thees ees nice, though."
Awww. Peri felt sorry for Ustule. She obviously had a family somewhere, like Prometheus, but here she was far away, spending the holiday with strangers. If Peri had any family, he'd feel the same way she did. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and squeezed. "There's a big tree in the center of town," he murmured. "We could sneak out of school early in the morning and sing at it, if you'd like."
Normally Teo was against any such shenanigans. It was generally not a good idea to anger the school, especially with security so high. "Or you all could sleep over at my house on Solstice. Then we can leave whenever we like, and my mom will drive us." He scratched his ear idly and accepted a pair of--jingle bells? They were attached to clips. He clipped them onto his sweater. "That way, none of us gets in trouble."
He considered holiday traditions in Elienne's household. "My mom's a Fallen from Cassiel's Watch, so we celebrate the holiday Fallen-style. We pour wine over a log called the Solstice log. We go to prayers at midnight to thank the gods and the saints for all that they have given us this year. Then we have a really rich breakfast, with a sponge cake shaped like a log." He giggled. "Honestly, I haven't experienced it yet, but Cal hasn't shut up about it since November or so, so I keep hearing a lot about it. It's my first year as a member of this family."
Jurvik smiled. He felt confident about leaving his son in Corben's care. After all, his son was under Corben's supervision every time he went to herbology, wasn't he? "You two have a good time, okay? Don't drive each other crazy." Jurvik collected Xeno's books, stuffed animals, and potted plants, juggling them all carefully in his hands, and headed back to the backstage area, where he put them all in the cubby he'd been given for the day. He added another potted plant someone had handed him to the collection, and went to practice.
Xeno waved his father good-bye, then turned to Corben. "Well, we did a beanbag toss, and then we did an obstacle course...then we did a game where we had to guess how many candies were in a jar. I'm up for anything, really, though I'd kind of like to get something to drink." Without Jurvik around, he sort of felt a little cold. "Um, maybe some hot cocoa or something? I think it's for free, right?"
He took Corben's hand gratefully. "Yeah, I do. I hate getting lost." He smiled at someone who handed him a necklace. "Thank you!" he said to that person.
She had heard of the festival all throughout the academy, and while she had been uninterested initially, through much prodding and coaxing from other classmates, she had been convinced to check it out. Entering the area and accepting her complimentary stocking, she clutched it tightly to her chest. Glancing around, she felt amazed; the area was loud and crowded. She glanced around, unsure where to head off to. Instead, the curious fey decided to float about, watching all the merriment about her with intrigue until something or someone would grab her attention. She found herself placed in front of a enthusiastic who thrusted forth a book into her arms, saying something along the lines of 'This is what all the young adults are reading now and days.' She curiously glanced down at the book, her face reddening at its frivolous cover before stuffing it in her stocking, hoping no one would see her prize.

Caper chewed on his cookie, pulling the other part up into his sleeve so it wouldn't get damaged. "You're welcome," he returned brightly, more than happy to be polite. He turned to look around them, jumping a few inches into the air. "Silas!" he squeaked, touching the other's arm gently. "I think they want your cookies!"
Behind the blond stood both the thickly furred fox and a new companion, a dainty red lamb. Caper's eyes were wide and he immediately raised a hand above his head. "You can't have this, this is for my bird!" he pleaded with worry as if there wasn't a table behind him full of more goodies.
Happily nibbling away at the treat that Caper had gotten him, Silas jumped in reaction to the other freshling's. His cookies...? Who wanted them..? Fearing it might be bigger kids, he quickly, turned around and took a few steps back, only stopping once he spied the two little familiars.
Staring, his eyes widened, the fluffy fox staring up at him and giving a cute little squeak. Instantly, Silas' cheeks flushed brightly, and his eyes sparkled. SO...CUTE! slowly, he broke off a piece of his cookie, and offered it to the little fox, who daintily accepted it, munching happily as the Litch had been prior. Managing a tiny smile, he looked to the little goat too, then back at the defensive Caper. It made him smile just that bit more. Crouching, he reached out to the goat too, offering it some of his own cookie too, "Can have some of mine..." he quietly murmured.

Lilan was plenty fine with the festivities... what he wasn't fine with was all the obnoxious and annoying people that were a part of it. Everyone was so loud, and overly excited around him, running around, yammering away. How annoying... Tottering around the booths, he kept wide berths from those he didn't want to brush against him, holding his nice little stocking to his chest so it wouldn't get dirtied. His eyes would slide back and forth, quietly judging those they came in contact with, while secretly admiring and brewing with envy for some.
But as he started to survey the objects that were up for grabs on the booths, he found himself being blocked by one particular booth. A large pair of starry wings were in front of him, guarding his view of what was up on the higher level. Frowning, he snorted irritably, glaring up at the back of poor Estys' head, "you're in my way." he declared, pouting very visibly to show his displeasure.
