"We..." What was going on? "You should probably pay more attention," Optimist frowned. Had Trouble been right after all? She was feeling more uneasy as the doe kept speaking. Well, perhaps she was just extraordinarily empty-headed, but the problem was, well, Optimist didn't know anything about Apathy. "I don't know that their killing Snake Flower accomplished much other than confusing us, though," Optimist said thoughtfully. "Unless perhaps we examine the things she said the first day? She was remarkably quiet yesterday."

The doe laughed like a hyena and couldn't stop her creepy smile from showing. "A date? With me?" she laughed, hard to believe what she was hearing. "You better hope those cranes are amazing to look at, or make a delicious snack," she said, smiling back at Sage, teeth showing and all. Her focus turned to Watch as he tried to explain himself. "Well, perhaps this time you may have a better reason behind your vote?" she told him in a cautious tone, and was still suspicious of him. "This game turns every kin against one another. I've seen it in the first one, but that time we had fewer players." Blinded By Silence yea yea mini rps are nice Kitty Sprightt she can do with both bucks or in separate ones (:

Optimist tried to turn to Kiss of Death as she spoke up again. Hm - at least she was paying attention and she seemed to be pressing where she needed to press. "Oooh, you've played before? What happened? What should we avoid?" She paused, and then turned to Merry Wanderer. "Are we allowed to talk about that?" she called.

The buck was a bit surprised at the narrator's description of the latest victim. The Acha certainly is graphic in his story-telling, he thought.
"So sad to see the young one taken out in such a way," said Night. "It would seem that those that had spoken up on the first day are being eliminated first."
"I'm inclined to follow the yellow-faced doe's (Optimist) reasoning. Possibly, the young Flower might have been on the right track in singling out the predators among us."

The next day's news about Unsung gave Kiss of Death a hard time to decipher whether they were part predator or part prey to begin with. That one never said anything for days. 'Tis no wonder she died... However, Snake Flower's death left her even more puzzled. That one barely said anything at all too. Voting for a kin with the most votes as a reason gave her nothing to pick off of at all... With a stern look, Kiss of Death met Apathy's gaze. Seeing that she is still nearby, she told her in a questioning voice: "You know, giving nicknames is what you do when you know the other party longer than just a day or two." Really what was she thinking? "And, I've heard you speak to others before. You addressed them with a shorter version of their names." Right now, she felt uncomfortable. What's even worse is that it is already day three. The number of preys are slowly diminishing and she still needed more clues. "Forget two syllables. Just call me Death. What's so hard about that?" She had not accused anyone of bluffing since the game had started, but more so stating little bits of information that she clung onto dearly hoping that it could potentially make her believe a kin to be prey or predator. Apathy, to her, seemed to be up to something. Dotty, Spotty, Stripey-- it still seemed like she was marking kin.------------------- Her eyes turned to where a new voice was calling out to her. "Ive played a game like this before. But in smaller numbers," she replied while turning around to see who it was. Upon seeing Optimist, she just gave her a slow blink of her eyes as greeting. "What happened was that near the end.." she stopped and paused with her sentence. "That's right, perhaps we should ask for permission first." (( ryuu goodluck with your superlong classes! ))

Tipping Into Madness had watched the proceedings with a sort of half muddled fascination, eyes going wide and then narrowing again as she swayed.
She shivered in anticipation.
"Who next, who next, who next..." she said, partly laughingly. "What path do we take now?"(( sorry for missing last round, had some life issues @@ ))

Merry Wanderer inclined his head Okay is Wonderful. He loathed to interrupt the game but he didn't want the players to feel too constrained and he was, admittedly, somewhat curious as to what had occurred at the last game--he hadn't played afterall. He had only stolen the other doe's rules.
"Go ahead. It can't hurt to discuss what one has learned about strategy through experience."

Watch chewed on the information that he had gathered. The Once and Future King was the first to die. She refused to vote. Watch the Skies perished that night; she had voted for the dragonkin, Fire Made Flesh. Now, Trouble had been killed after voting for the oddly-curious Lost Apathy and Snake Flower had died as well. Who had she voted for? He thought on that a while. There were a lot of names to keep track of and his mind truly wasn't what it once was. It was Trouble, he concluded. But with Trouble already dead... What did that leave them with? The first day... "The first day, Snake Flower held the attention of the Dragon, Fire Made Flesh. Watch the Skies had also voted for him, that plus his actions make him seem very obviously a predator. But that feels too easy, does it not?" He asked the crowed, "And yet, I feel a trap." He paused, thinking more, this was a truly interesting game. He was knocked out of his thoughts, however, by Lost Apathy's oddly-placed confusion. He coked his head and raised an eyebrow suspiciously, "My dear, surely in a game where every detail is critical, you should not let your mind stray too far."

"I'm Okay is Wonderful," Optimist said, smiling over at Eyes of the Night. "You can call me Optimist, though." She paused. "I don't remember that she called out anyone specific other than - er - The Once and Future King, though." Most of what Snake Flower had done that first day was encourage kin to vote - a fine pursuit, in this context! She turned to Tipping Into Madness the moment the quiet doe spoke up. "What path do you think we should take?" Optimist asked. "I think a number of us have already spoken; do you have an opinion?" She glanced carefully at As the Sun Burns. "Are you...intentionally ignoring us?" she asked, careful. It wasn't like he wasn't making relevant points, but it was strange that he was just going to ignore what remarks Optimist and Kiss of Death had made. "Anyway, I'm not especially suspicious of Fire Made Flesh at the moment," Optimist said, although that was not to say she trusted the dragon, either: he just didn't seem like a nice guy, even outside of this game! "I think he's just being targeted because he's not very friendly." She cocked her head. "I'm much more interested in continuing the discussions we had before if a connection to Fire Made Flesh is all we can extract." Well, actually, it might be better to question the dragon anyway. She turned to him, cocking her head. "What are your thoughts on the matter?" And then she nodded, happily, at Merry Wanderer, and turned to Kiss of Death again. "That sounds quite fascinating! Smaller numbers might be a bit more manageable in terms of paying attention to the conversation!" Optimist really liked doing that.

His eyes narrowed as he considered those now lost. The choices for who they had picked had been... mostly rather grabbing at straws. He didn't know what he thought of choices the hunters had made. "Poor Snake Flower... I don't know why they had to go for such an inoffensive girl. She seemed so sweet." When he got a chance to do so, unobtrusively, he glanced at where she would have withdrawn to and gave her a slightly flirtatious wink. Had to be true to himself, after all, and she was pretty. He then refocused on the circle, and looked around at everyone. "Perhaps we should reconsider all we have seen..."He found himself studying Apathy, eyes slightly narrowed. Was she really this very distracted, or was it a bluff, to look more innocent? He wasn't sure, and it made him suspicious. It didn't stop his suspicions about Wintershadow either, and his eyes turned back to that buck, pondering the pair of them.

Oh, swampsake, he'd picked a dangerous one again. Why this.
He kept smiling charmingly at Kiss Of Death, but it definitely felt forced. I'd hope she's all bark and no bite, Sage mused glumly, but with a jaw like that, and a preference for a territory littered with bones, there's little room for doubt... Maybe they'd be more like the nibble a friendly ramcat would give you if you'd been grooming it a little overlong? Yeah, and maybe Through Your Eyes would confess her undying love for him next time they crossed paths.
Pulling his head out of his assuredly dismal love life, Sage actually turned his attention to the game at hand and listened a little. Oh, they were talking about that other game. Against his usual impulse to expound freely on his opinions, He'd let Kiss Of Death field that one - and explain himself afterwards, but only if strictly necessary. The way that game had gone super embarrassing.

With such vivid storytelling, Peep was glad she hadn’t brought any of the kids along to watch ‘Uncle’ Merry’s game. "Are you quite alright, dear?" She inquired, looking over at Lost Apathy, who seemed to have no clue what was going on, or was at least a few steps behind. It was odd but was it damning? In any case, they’d lost young Snake Flower and had less clues pointing towards the wolves ever before. "It could be," she ventured, "that they were trying to throw us off the scent and so chose somebody that would confuse. Perhaps Trouble was a wolf... or the wolf is one of the others with a lot of votes." Doubleback and As the Sun Burns had both received four votes, the highest after Trouble. Peep hummed a thoughtful sound and watched them both curiously, then turned a smile towards Kiss, waiting to hear how the last game had progressed.

"Actually," said Optimist, frowning slightly at Arctic Waste. "I think it's in the predators' best interest to pick someone inoffensive - that way they can get us to kill off the offensive innocents for them." She paused, ear twitching. "What do you mean by reconsider, Arctic Waste?" She was rather interested in hearing what he had to say - the previous day, he'd picked Wintershadow, but for a silly reason, in Optimist's opinion. "Yesterday you picked Wintershadow for fading into the crowd." She raised her eyebrows slightly judgmentally. "If I may point out....I don't think the buck's necessarily innocent, but I don't find him suspicious at all, either. I mean, in the game. He seems very nice, outside of it!" She paused. "The nature of a crowd is that everyone's in it, after all." Oh, Peep was speaking! She considered the pretty white doe carefully. "I'd be willing to wait for Doubleback to say her piece," Optimist said, nodding. "As the Sun Burns has already spoken, though, and he seems to be just ignoring...well, everything. I'd certainly look at him again." [hi corn............optimist ignored you because sage didn't actually say anything <3 ;; ]

Her creepy smile appeared again as she looked at Sage. "You seem to remember that game that I have been talking about," she went on with a singsong tone coming out of her throat and winked at him. "Took you long enough to remember me." Turning back to Optimistic, after getting the go ahead from Wanderer, she continued with their conversation. Whoever wanted to know what happened might as well creep closer to have a listen. "That one had just five kin less that participated. In the beginning, like this one, we knew nothing. As the days went on, it felt like some prey were able to identity the predators' bluffs and had a small group that somewhat believed one another. That's how the first predator got voted off. They picked and prodded for information. The predators did their share in killing too of course, before it was too late. But..until much later in the game. There were 7 preys against 1 predator... This buck here, "she went on nudging Sage, "he boldy stated to the group that he was the last of them. Most had our doubts but voted to see if he told the truth since night was coming. He got voted out and that's how the game ended. A displeased Th rough Your Eyes confirmed his identity." She did wonder why he did it but won't ask since it's in the past now. He must have had his reasons to do it. (( @THY I'm referring your doe as Optimistic too because I won't remember Okay is Wonder without going back to your posts all the time ))

"Wait - you played it too?" Optimist turned toward Sage with much more interest now, but the story was interesting enough to draw her back to Kiss of Death. "How'd you convince him to do that?" she asked, eyeing the buck in question carefully. "Wait - you shouldn't say it, because then the wolves will pay attention." She nodded. "It also sounds like something that'd work much better once we're a bit deeper into the game..." If trust formed between kin as the game went on - as it was seeming to - then Optimist was excited for the new friends she was sure to make. [ omgg you can totally call her optimistic if you want QvQ !! ]
