It was almost pitch black at this point. Which should’ve been enough of an indicator that they ought to stop for the day. Which was honestly something that the Espurr intended to do regardless. There might’ve been a chance to locate the egg before booking a room in the local pokemon center and he opted to try it. If anything, it gave a few more minutes for Noel to rest. This time though, he’d go along with the others in the search, to make sure nothing iffy happened. It’d been rather quiet regarding oddities happening and so he felt it was probably safe to briefly leave the rider alone with Noel.

Plus, they had parked outside of a pokemon center to begin with so, if they disappeared, someone would probably see where they disappeared too if at all. The doors were made of glass after all and a giant bird was rather hard to miss. With that handled and pokedex in hand, Algernon, Alanna and Sherlock headed off to seek yet another egg. Alanna was rather disturbed by the dark; she wasn’t afraid of the dark but not being able to clearly see what was in front of her certainly made things difficult.

Well, almost. There was a massive light beacon near the coast; a lighthouse that gave a lead to both those that were shore bound and on the water to keep them safe. There was also Algernon’s wide eyes which seemed to glow in the dark, to guide them as well though that was more an extra level of creepy that Alanna didn’t want to think about. She had to wonder what was up with this Espurr and why he seemed so close to Noel. They both even had matching headsets, something else that she was curious about. She considered asking him at some point when the time was right; they both seemed sensitive about the issue and she certainly didn’t want to upset anyone to the point where she was just abandoned for no good reason.

Speaking of… she wondered what had happened to the trainer who had caught her originally. It was kind of odd to go from one person to another though she didn’t bother thinking about the situation much more. Algernon cooed and pointed in the direction of a lane that the needed to head down, wandering off the path after a bit to check the nearby grass. These egg hiders seemed to be fans of hiding things in the grass.

A little bit of looking and Sherlock for the egg before Alanna could, an act that caused the Pikachu to pout a bit. Maybe she wasn’t quite getting this as well as she thought after all. They sent the egg off and headed back to the pokemon center. Algernon woke Noel up and managed to usher the groggy boy into the center to get a room for the night. It was far better to get rest on a bed than the back of a pokemon, no matter how smooth a flier they were. The morning rolled around soon though and refreshed and rested Noel was off to continue his egg hunt with his pokemon.

By the time his search actually got underway, the young trainer fortunately tore himself from what he was thinking of, keeping his eyes open to properly spot the eggs in the area. Nova hummed quietly to a tune Zero didn’t recognize, and Nevermoor bobbed his shadow left and right to the soft beat, bringing a small smile to his lips. Something about it made him a little happy, for reasons he wasn’t entirely sure of. He chalked it up to finding some amusement in it, but moved on before he dwelt on it too long.
