Jinxi stroked Rock's arm in a comforting gesture. "My memory problems are not your fault, Rock. And my memory has never been my strong suit even before it got tampered with, so you'll just have to learn patience and be willing to repeat things sometimes for me. But I promise it's not because I don't listen to what you say or care about your world."

In his mind, Rock was thinking, "why am I falling for her?"

But he smiled softly when she assured him that he would have some mission to do after this. Then he said, "Well, I might be able to help you with that. Just, not right now."

The forest they had wandered into was filled with purple fog and this fog was affecting Rock's breathing. Wheezing a bit, Rock said, "I should have brought a lanturn because it looks like we've entered the poisonous swamp. Lanterns destroy this fog and I can barely see where I am going through this stuff."

Rock wanted to call out to Link, but his body wouldn't let him. It was obvious though that he needed help soon or he would collapse. Luckily, Rock had a map of where they were in the forest and a unique compass where there were icons to show where they needed to go next. He trusted Jinxi enough that if he were to fall in this muck, that she'd navigate through the fog since she seemed immune to its affects, and find Link. Hopefully, she'd remember about the lantern.

Nearby, some monkeys were watching from a tree. In their language, one of them said to another, "Is that Rock Howard, eek eek?"

The reply was, "Yeah, but he wit' someone who no damage with swamp. Best leave alone for now."

The female monkey saw Rock about to fall then shrieked loud for the enemies of the forest to go away and she raced with Link's old fallen lantern from long ago and found a way to light it. She hopped down from the tree, and using her language she encouraged Jinxi to hold onto Rock while the monkey guided them through the poisonous swamp.

"Rock?!?" Jinxi's alarm grew as he wavered. "Can you put something over your nose and mouth to decrease the effects?" She caught him as he stumbled. He was much larger than she, but somehow she managed to steady him.

The monkey startled her at first, but she was grateful to see the lantern in her hand. She followed the monkey willingly, keeping an eye on Rock to be sure he was still breathing and moving in the right direction. She tried to keep them as close to that magical lantern as she could, hoping it would revive her friend.

(OMG, that was absolutely perfect! That scene right there would be awesome for an anime if it would be made into one.)

Eventually, the monkey led the two to a natural hot spring where there was a goat made entirely of Forest sprites. The monkey explained to the goat what had happened and the goat nodded as if to say that it was okay that Rock take a moment to heal in his waters.

The goat's name was Ordon and he was the guardian of the forest. The swamp the two had managed to get through is a security measure if anything. Those that do not know the secrets of the swamp are subject to fall to its toxic fumes. The monkeys oversee the swamp to help those that do know the secret, but do not come prepared as was the case here.

As Rock rested in the tiny pond, he encouraged that Jinxi too rest up a bit. When he was able to talk, Rock explained who the goat was and who those monkeys were. He also told her that it wasn't far now before they met up with Link. Rock also made sure to remind Jinxi that Link is Dee's son and his half-brother.

(If you don't recognize the game setting here, Joy...I am basically navigating you through Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Not bad for not having to play the game in a while huh? I have the map memorized.)

Jinxi thanked the monkey and the goat even before Rock completely recovered his voice. The swamp fumes did not do harm to her the way it did to Rock, but her headache was returning again and the hot springs were helping relieve that, too.

Her thanks resurfaced when he explained things to her. By then her headache had receded again, thankfully. "I don't understand," she said when Rock finished explaining the swamp's effects. "I don't know the secrets of the swamp, but it didn't effect me nearly as much as it did you."

She did enjoy the respite from their journey, although she was eager to meet Link. "Is Link as big as you are, Rock?" she asked.

She did enjoy the respite from their journey, although she was eager to meet Link. "Is Link as big as you are, Rock?" she asked.

Rock chuckled, "It didn't affect you as much because of where you would be from on this world. The equivalency of where you are naturally from. The swamp has toxic fumes and depending on your level of tolerance to poisons will depend on how fast you fall. It is true that you were affected a bit, but me...well, I should have remembered to bring a lanturn or at least some sort of a light to blow away the fumes. It is your radiance, Jinxi that prevented the toxins from hurting you as much."

After crossing a wooden bridge, Rock showed Jinxi a little crawl space where hidden rupees were. As Rock collected the gems, he answered Jinxi's other question, "Ha ha ha ha, no, not yet. Link is still growing though. He's maybe a few inches smaller than I am. He has been growing like these weeds you see here."

Using his arm like it was a sword blade, Rock's elbow cut down a few blades of grass that represented weeds where they were. A few rupees were revealed too including a rare 20! When Rock picked it up, just before the entrance to Link's place, he showed Jinxi the bright red gem.

"This, Jinxi is a 20 rupee coin. Rupees here are like money. The more you pick up the more money you have. The value of this coin is rarer than the yellow ones worth 10. The blue ones are worth 5. And the green are worth 1. Think of these like dollars. There are no pennies, dimes, nickels or quarters. In my leather pouch that I use for a wallet here, I have collected a total of 35 dollars worth of rupees. I'll ask Link if he will get you a rupee wallet before we go, okay? If you find rupees you are going to want to collect them if you are going to buy stuff here. They even sell horses for you to ride here! Can you believe it? That's a new thing for this place. I just saw the advertisement. Epona must have foals of her own now."

Jinxi admired the sparkling gems. "What beautiful money! So let me make sure I understand. Each coin is called a rupee and the color tells how much each one is worth? Or does the name of the coin include it's color and how much is how many rupees? Like is a rupee coin one of the four colors and this rupee coin is worth 20, or is this a red rupee coin, so that means it's worth 20 rupees?" She giggled. "I feel like I'm talking in circles, so if you don't understand my question, it's probably not important."

She hesitated at first, but finally decided to ask her next question, prefacing it with, "This is an example of when you need a little patience. Who is Epona? I do know what horses are, although I've never actually ridden on one. I don't think." She frowned briefly, then smiled ruefully. "I don't remember riding one. But then again, there's a lot I don't remember."

Knowing that Jinxi was trying to make a joke in the ironic sense, Rock laughed heartily. He then replied, "Okay, the rupee amount is determined by its color. A silver one for example, if we ever find one, is worth a whopping 200 rupees! A gold rupee, which is even rarer than a silver is worth 500 rupees."

As Rock and Jinxi entered the ranch where Epona was, where Rock said, "This beautiful horse here is Epona. She is a chestnut mare."

Epona whinnied happily at Rock's compliment. The horse knew she was aging, but beautiful? Yeah, the horse was flattered.

Link came out of the giant tree fort that was his home and greeted Rock with a secret like handshake. When Link saw Jinxi he elbowed Rock and said, "You never told me that Jinxi was this attractive, Rock! You sneaky little monkey you."

Bowing before Jinxi with respect, Link said to her, "Welcome to Ordon Village. I am Linken Bogard, but please, call me Link. I specialize in combat, in making lunches, and being gay. I am one of the many princes to the throne of the Renaissance Galaxy, but I have no interest in ruling it."

Link had been dressed entirely in green, which he seemed to blend in with the surroundings. If it wasn't for his skin tone or his shiny shield, sword and archery set, Jinxi would have been spooked by hearing voices.

When Link appeared, Jinxi seemed to have no trouble picking him out from the greenery, given her exceptional senses and her familiarity with this kind of lush environment. She blushed at his compliment, bowing back a bit in return. She regarded him gravely and replied with seriousness, "Ruling an entire galaxy seems like an awful lot of work, so I think I would share your attitude in your position. Although Empress Dee seems to be doing a fine job. Everyone I've met here have, for the most part, been happy and productive."

Epona allowed for Jinxi to pet her for a few minutes as Epona grazed on some wild grass that was growing. Rock managed to pick up a green rupee that appeared earning the taller blond a rearing horse.

Link settled Epona before Rock could be trampled. Then Link gave Rock a swift kick in the butt for startling the horse. Rock blushed at his error. Then said to Link, "Best that rupee be in my pocket now rather than in a pile of horse poop and having Epona complain about the money exiting her butthole."

Ignoring Rock, Link then saddled Epona while saying, "You came at a time of peace, which is why most people are friendly. If you two don't mind, could you wait in the tree house while I finish up some ranching duties? A rancher's work doesn't stop even when guests come by to visit. It shouldn't take too long to herd the young goats and foals into the paddocks for the night. Maybe a couple of minutes."

Jinxi started when the horse reared, backing away from her. Then she nodded agreeably to Link's suggestion they stay in the treehouse to wait for him to return from his duties.

Fado was working already trying to calm the goats and smiled when he saw Link gallop up. "Ya sure have a 6th sense when these critters be agitated, me boy. They be finicky again. Me thinks a new danger will be arisin' soon. And I don't believe its that pig Ganondorf neither that's got these hoofers all riled."

Jinxi started when the horse reared, backing away from her. Then she nodded agreeably to Link's suggestion they stay in the treehouse to wait for him to return from his duties.

Rock told her more specifically on how Dee and Terry shared their first kiss since it was really on his mind lately and since he felt like there was no stopping it, he was falling for Jinxi. He said, "Heh, that Link never seems to change when it comes to his chores. So trustworthy, never will break a promise. Unlike Terry who broke the one promise that I thought he was seriously going to keep."

A few customers who was there all turned their eyes to Rock, knowing that he was going to tell a story. Most of the customers looked like children, when in fact they were likely thousands of years old. No one ages quickly in Hyrule.

"Now, before you even ask, Jinxi, cause I know you were going to ask what Terry promised me, Terry said that he would NEVER fall in love again."

Rock smiled at this and laughed a bit. Then he said, "It's really kind of foolish of me to think that Terry could have even kept such a promise because the one force that nobody can control completely is when they've found true love. So, here is what happened..."

Meanwhile at the ranch, Link replied, "I don't think there's any danger really. I think these tykes are just excited because we have a visitor from a really far off place. She reminds me of a combination of the Twilight keepers, you know the ones known as Twili and the Zorans. "

Back at the tree house, Rock was saying, "So, it was a really rainy weekend over at where Andy had been staying in January of 2004 and there was going to be a dance competition of sorts between a few of the fighting teams that were featured in the SNK games on Earth. This competition was going to serve two purposes. One, to improve our own fighting skills as individuals and two, to show complete strangers what kinds of moves we had. I was actually looking forward to having a great time. That was until we found out that the choreographer was a complete and utter perverted creep. Even worse than Joe Higashi this dude was."

Rumors began flying on who this choreographer might be, then Rock continued, "Terry was really, really upset about it. The dance instructor didn't even disguise the fact that he wanted a total slut for a wife. This ticked Terry off even more. Then, as more bad luck would have it, Dee shows up at this ladies only fake promotion to join my team. Or rather Terry's team because we only had one lady and the other teams had two or more. Dee wanted to thank Terry for some previous heroics that apparently he did for her besides the fact that Dee wanted to have some sort of fun and not having to hang around her dad during the vacation she was on."

Rock paused for any questions that Jinxi had, but before the pause he asked, "Do you get what's happening in the story so far, Jinxi? I know your memory has been a bit foggy at best lately, so I want to be sure."

"I think I understand," Jinxi said. "There was a dance competition to show off moves, and a nasty man was somehow in charge of telling people which way to dance and was also looking for a wife inappropriately. And Dee joined the team you and Terry were on so you'd have the same number of girls because she was grateful for a previous favor Terry had done for her and for the fun of it."

And Dee joined the team you and Terry were on so you'd have the same number of girls because she was grateful for a previous favor Terry had done for her and for the fun of it."

Rock smiled, "Exactly!"

He kissed her hand, then continued, "All right, so when Dee saw Terry so upset and since she didn't have her universal translator on at the time, she wondered why Terry was so angry. She discovered why the next day though. Yes, she won the audition, which made Terry angry enough to not show up on practice day because he felt that he would hurt someone that he would regret hurting later. Deep down, he knew he was falling for Dee, but he didn't want to tell anyone about it. Not even me! So, on practice day when the choreographer wanted to introduce Dee to the choreographer's fiancee' and to make his move on her, Dee kicked the guy in his balls. And her foot landed such a perfect hit that it sent the dance instructor off the planet! It impressed all who were present. Both Andy and Iori bragged to Terry about it, and of course, Terry had his doubts. Terry even asked me if that was true. I could only nod still somewhat stunned at how disbelieving Terry was at Dee's immense hidden power."

Link had returned, but said nothing when he arrived because he knew that Rock was telling a fascinating story that had everyone gathered around him. Rock went on, "So the very next day, which was competition time, there was a typhoon and yet, we had no choice but to go to the contest. Terry had decided to participate, though he was still not happy about how Dee joined the team. And yet, everyone else didn't cooperate to try and make our moves be somewhat aligned with Dee's and we looked awful in practice. I had my own reasons for not cooperating, but it wasn't because of the pervert or how Dee joined. I knew what was happening to Terry and I didn't like the fact that he was going to break his promise."

Sighing, Rock paused momentarily to calm his growing anger at the memory. Then he said, "At any rate, I was sitting in the back when Dee took her seat beside Terry. It was then that she told Terry how grateful she was for this opportunity and just for him, she gave that choreographer what was coming to him. Now perhaps it was where Dee had her hand, but Terry was definitely moved by the way she expressed her gratitude. He was so relieved that Dee joined merely for the truth that it was, that we needed a second woman on the team that Terry kissed her. The moment was so perfect for the two of them, Terry's scrunchy unbound and hit me in the face. If it were on a Disney movie it would be one of those, could not have been timed better type of a kiss. Such a chick-flick moment. Then, the downpour of the typhoon had Dee using one more secret power she had that nobody realized she had. She put a magical barrier on the bus as we literally went under the water and then resurfaced at the dance hall. So, Jinxi,"

Rock turned so he was facing her, "I know that before when I kissed you didn't seem as magical as when Terry kissed Dee, but I was hoping that you were at least moved and realized that I feel like I am falling for you in a similar manner as Terry fell for Dee."
