He'd asked her to wait, he'd asked her to hold out. But there had been no time, on the battlefield there was never any time, you looked away for just a ******** second and someone was dead. Just one ******** second. He looked away to make sure his bandage had taken and when he looked back there was the crackling bolt of power from Medea heading straight for Rin. There was no time to deflect it, no time to get between her and it. All he could do was watch as the bolt of power completely wasted the woman and with the adrenaline coursing in his veins it was as if, just to mock him, everything slowed down, including him.
No one could survive the damage she took, no one. He knew it, Tracey knew it.
He'd said all his friends were immortal. He'd sworn it, and yet here he couldn't ******** believe his eyes, he couldn't begin to process what he saw. She'd survived so much s**t, so many of his ******** and turned a blind eye to the worst of him.
"RIN." he called out, as if it could call her back, as if it could fix everything, as if it could take back those last few moments where he'd been too far away to help her.
All he could do was stagger with all of his strength and put himself between Melvin and the fallen woman and fight as best he could to at least save one of his friends. There was no time to let himself think about it, there was no time for anything but fighting on and hoping he made it out to grieve.

Medea's presence washed over him, even as the woman screamed. Bastion felt the conflict, uncertain whether Noni was going to be a problem, or whether he could just ignore her. A moment later, Medea filled him with her presence, and he dropped to the ground in horror. "NONI!" He screamed, putting both of his hands on his mouth. He'd been so disrespectful to her, his most beloved cousin. "Noni, it's me, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry! The emperor - I mean, I wasn't, that wasn't me, and he called me, and he told me if I didn't attack Medea he would be saddened and I just couldn't - Noni, help me!" The scimitars all but disappeared. His body was becoming even less corporeal than it had been a moment ago, as Medea continued to fill him with her power. In his core, a deep, throbbing red began to glow. He wanted to tear it out and throw it at those who would hurt his priestess or his cousin. But instead, all he did was kneel before Nergui, and beg her for forgiveness.

Amrita swung again, trying to break the shield that surrounded the crazy Priestess, but as she leaned back to let the sting fade from her fists, she felt someone's arms around her. The touch made her pause, freezing instantly, too afraid to move even a single muscle - someone was touching her! Why was someone - Oh!
"Tack~!" Amrita breathed out the name with a sigh of relief, sliding one arm around him as well, while the other reached out to pinch a piece of Night's jacket between her fingers, keeping him close as well. After all, with the way things have been going, it was only a matter of time before her consciousness shattered again...

As easy as it might have been to assume that their greatest threat was their own kind, Medea reminded them that they had been so rudely ignoring her by stomping on their existence with nothing but her power. Maebe was down on the ground instantly, flattened by the weight of Medea's attack. It took every ounce of her strength to pull out the barrier daggers and slam them beside her, though even then one of them petered out and the other barely sheltered ******** this." She muttered in annoyance, as she turned herself around. "******** that thing." She waved a hand at Medea. "******** these guys, in particular." At this point, she was just gesturing to everyone. Sanity returned for a moment. He avoided Medea completely, and focused on finding Shun in the crowd. Lock was still Lock. Shun didn't exactly stand out in a crowd, but he eventually found the other reaper. There were still identifying features- the eyepatch, the daggers.
Noticing the number of hits the other reaper had taken quite a beating, insanity Lock summoned a number of shadows and began healing Shun, like the good little healer her was.OOC Name of character: Lock Blackwood Faction: Students HP: 25/30 BOSS HP REMAINING: --DAMAGE DONE TO: 10 to Shun This is Lock. Nothing said but a small growling whine, another volely of arrows fired into the crowd. He made especially sure to target the one who had said something to him. This one seemed to be leading the charge against Medea. No, he couldn't let her fall.

His scream struck her like a physical blow to the heart. She had no heart. It hurt, and she flinched as he groveled, begging forgiveness for having been swept away by whatever power had stolen him away from her. "Oh Cousin..." She hurt when he hurt. His pain was her's - But of course. Of course. This was preferred. This was acceptable. This was how it should be. "Of course I forgive you." Her hand touched his head, fingers playing in the rise of fog that rolled up from him, and she smiled. Benevolent, crooked. "Do not fret so." She spoke so gently to him. Glowing eyes lifted from his bowed head momentarily, scanning the battle as the corner of her mouth twitched, ticking upward as she watched the humans trying to dig their way through the barrier. Little better than ants, but even they bore through stone walls, given time. "Stand Cousin. Stand and fight." She took back her hand, but her arms were open, welcoming. "Fight with me. So we can go home."

Then that damn horseman attacked her, distracting her, and came very close to getting blown to pieces himself. Black crystalline roses bloom upon her thorny vines, the shadows within them pulsing softly like tiny black hearts. Power floods through her, and the voice whispers, Clear away the trash.enoh love Amrita feels compelled to attack those protecting Medea. Her dice when doing so are now 3d10's (-6 modifier) edit: while medea is gone, the compulsion shifts to all horsemen ~ the dice buff stays fears: chill and swift strikes each go up a tier, battle cry is now 12d4

Maebe, still on her back (because she worked best that way), pulled out the two sets of bandages and slapped one right on Cami's a**, to get her back for what she'd done. Then she put one on herself, and continued to lie there. Seeing as Shun was now dealt with, Lock turned his attention to Medea. He summoned a shadowy hand, which laid over his own hand, acting like a spectral hammer for him.
He ran forward, jumping to the shield and smashing the enormous hand against it. The entire thing shattered, and each shard that fell scratched him.
Lock wouldn't feel any of it though, the insanity referring. His skin slowly disappeared into a blackish, grey mess of shadow and insanity. This was the way things were supposed to be. Snarling, Shik desperately made his way back to the collapsing barrier (bumping past the same hunter, though this time without trying to attack), but he was too slow. He still lent his fear to Medea regardless, however, or at least attempted to.
