Lynora hesitated for a moment and pulled against Carac's force. "No.....I think I need to find a place to hide by myself. I can't risk them capturing you again Carac!" She said worriedly, although where would she go? She didn't know this place and there were wild animals just about everywhere. How could she defend herself if she came across dangers by herself?

"Oh, but we can protect you! And you won't run so carelessly this time, right?" Carac replied, not letting go. "Please let us help you, Miss Lynora. At least until you get your bearings. I did promise Cedany and I would help you get home. We may need your assistance." He feared letting her go off on her own, for who knew what would happen to her? She didn't seem capable of surviving here, even less so now that she was hunted.

Lynora continued to hesitate but only for a few minutes more. She knew he was right, if she had any hope of surviving at all then she would need their help. "No..I won't run off on my own, I promise." she said softly, agreeing to go with them. She just hoped she could help them as much as they were helping her.

Cedany did not have the same friendly face her brother donned. "Hmph! Just be sure to stay in our sight. I won't forgive you if something happens to my brother again, understand?" She didn't like Lynora, but she knew that Carac did, so she would tolerate her.Carac glared at his sister for a moment and then smiled at Lynora. "Please don't mind her. She has been this way since we were children," he tried to explain. "Well, since you're with us now, would you like to help us pick some herbs? We're nearly finished and will be returning home soon. The last herb we needed, the thyme, just happened to be that one you stepped on..."

Lynora wasn't sure which plant Carac was referring to and was a little nervous to help them out, she was never good at keeping plants alive. "U-um....maybe you guys should pick the herbs, I've never been good with plants." she said softly, feeling a little uncomfortable at Cedany's persecuting stare. "I really am sorry Cedany. I didn't mean for any of this to happen."

Carac knew Cedany was going to say something more, so he quickly shushed her before smiling at Lynora again. "No worries. Just follow us and pick up whatever plant we direct you to. If you're still unsure, show us your find," he instructed and the magic users began to move back to the innards of the forest to where they knew there was a field of the thyme herb. While Cedany moved on ahead, Carac lagged behind to make sure Lynora was catching up.

Lynora tried her best to pick the herbs she was shown, finding it a little easier than she thought but she was sure she might have messed up a few of the herbs when she picked them. It seemed their herb picking was just about done for the day. "So what are all of these herbs for? Are you making a soup or stew or something?"

"Potions," Carac answered tersely. "We're mainly making those that help prolong the lives of those children. We can't cure them, but we can preserve their lives until we can find an antidote." He gathered some twigs from a nearby ash tree. "Of course, some of these herbs allow us to enhance some of our spells. Growth spells, for example, so we can enhance the potency of these herbs." Seeing that the baskets he and his sister had were full, they stopped gathering. "Shall we head home? It's not as comfortable as our cottage, but it should suffice for now."

Lynora gave a small smile and nodded. "I'll follow you wherever you go." she said softly. "I hope the prince didn't ruin your cottage." she said with a little guilt in her voice, she hoped they would forgive her eventually. "Is your new home hidden well? I doubt he would give us much of a chance if he found us again."

"It's hidden quite well and it is a bit of a walk from here," Carac answered. "We will need to swim part of the way, but it at least assures that the guards cannot get to us lest they be willing to take off their armor." His smile saddened a little, but it never went away. "Don't worry about our cottage. It was on the verge of falling apart, anyways."At this, Cedany could no longer hold her silence nor her anger. Stopping in her tracks, she stomped over to Lynora, barely holding back from snapping the girl in half where she stood. "Oh, your prince did more than ruin our cottage! His guards reduced it to nothing more than dust in the wind! That cottage was built by our father, I'll have you know!" she yelled. "It was the only thing we have of him and it's gone thanks to you!" At this point, she was pulled away by her brother and they had gone into a full-blown argument that no one but they could understand. Finally, after Carac had had the last word, the witch sighed and just continued ahead, only stopping when her brother was the length of two cottages away.Carac waited for his sister to disappear ahead, but it seems that even after all the yelling, Cedany would not leave him behind. He really wished she hadn't snapped like that. Turning toward Lynora, he gave her an apologetic expression. "I"m sorry you had to see all that," he said rather quietly. "I understand if you don't want to be anywhere near her. The feeling would be mutual, but please don't mind her. She's becomes a bit of a bull around this time." He didn't move toward Cedany, waiting to see what Lynora was planning to do.

Lynora jumped a little when she heard Cedany yelling at her, almost wishing Carac hadn't taken her aside to talk. She had half a mind to start yelling back at her but fighting about it wouldn't solve anything. "Don't worry about it." she said monotonously. "Lets keep going, she probably needs some time to herself." She would forgive the outburst for now but she wasn't sure about the next time.

Silence remained for a while before Carac recalled Lynora had been expelled from the palace. He then began to worry about Sreda. "By any chance, do you know what happened to Sreda?" he asked anxiously. "She wasn't there with you and I wonder if she's alright. The prince didn't find out about her involvement with me, I hope?"

Lynora shook her head and tried to keep up. "I didn't tell him anything about her. I don't know if he found out or not. I'm a little worried about her though." she said softly, thinking to apologize for messing everything up but she thought she would just annoy him with all of her apologies. "You don't think he would hurt her do you?" She almost didn't want to know the answer.

Carac was not sure how to answer. He did not know the prince very well, but he did know the king. "I can't really say anything about the prince and I'd prefer to know as little about him as possible," he answered, "but I know what his father would do to her. It's too dangerous for her to stay there." He glanced at his sister, who met his gaze as if with understanding. "Goodness me, our hiding place will be a little more crowded than expected. I hope you don't mind."

Lynora felt responsible for any punishment Sreda would endure, if she wasn't so nosy then Sreda would probably be okay. She gave a heavy sigh and wasn't paying much attention to Carac's words until he mentioned being crowded. She blushed a little and gave a small smile as she shook her head. "I won't mind. I want to help in any way I can." Many people called her naive, too trusting, and sometimes too nice but when you are raised with a generous family those habits are tough to beat.
