"What!?" he gasped opening the door and walking out only wearing his pajama pants. "Oh no the poor woman! Calm down Finita this wasn't your fault! I am to blame as well. Well shall grieve for the woman later, but we must be strong." he stated trying to comfort her. Yes she was mad, but she probably was hurting because she couldn't protect the mermaid. Her body language was scaring him a little, yes, but at the same time he wanted to calm her down.
Softly placing a hand on one of her muscular arms he gave the woman a smile of compassion. "Shhh...just breathe and relax. You need any coffee or anything? Something to calm you down?" he asked hoping she wouldn't smack him across the room.
Alexander was nervous! Pulling into the parking lot he left his car and proceeded into the building. Holding a manilla folder, filled with all the paperwork and documents, he was to give it to the head scientist, a woman named Finita. It contained his transfer papers and other legal documents he had to fill out.
He had to sit and wait in one of the rooms, while the desk clerk paged Finita he twiddled his thumbs and wondered just what kind of job he would be doing. Alex had been told that she already got most of the paperwork a week ago but he would have to wait until it was all filed. Getting a call that morning he nervously waited for her. Today he hoped he would be starting on a new project.

Cecelia gasped and placed her hands over her mouth. She looked both shocked and sad. "Oh no. Who would... who would do that?" she asked. Who would just put a sting ray in there? It seemed really odd to her. Perhaps they should have roomed together. "Oh Celeste." she murmured. "What are you going to do with her body?"
Finita sighed, trying to make a visible effort to calm down. Something soothing... what teas do we have, Ratchet? She asked, before draining the last of her carafe of coffee. She then handed it to him. Do we happen to have Honey Vanilla Chamomile? Make a big pot with that and bring it to me when it's done seeping. I'm going to need it to keep from killing the stupid contractor who thought that was a good idea. She sighed and sat down next to Cecelia's tank.
She then glanced at Cecelia. She sighed heavily again, this time from regret. It's not very respectful, but we have to study it. It'll probably be taken to a lab room and have an autopsy run on it. But I'll make sure her body has a proper burial afterwards.

Meanwhile, Alexander could feel the building shake slightly for a moment, before a thin scientist approached, with black hair, a long white lab coat, and pair of thin glasses.

Ratchet nodded. "Right away boss!"
Running into the small kitchen he stopped a moment and waved to Cecelia as he noticed her floating in the tank. "Good morning Cecelia!" he stated happily before running past and heading into the kitchen. The sounds of hurried bangs and pounding could be heard.
"Oh!? Silvia!?" he gasped noticing she was making something blushing he looked away shyly from her, then sighed. "The...mermaid was killed by a stingray." he said looking away sadly as he prepared the water for Finita.
The sound of the rumbling caught him off guard, as well as a few other scientists in the room and he looked up at the woman with shock in his eyes. "U-Uhh...yes." he stated taking a deep breathe and sitting up.
"My name is Alexander Snowe. I'm the new transfer yes. I was called to be debriefed? By the way...w-what was that rumbling?" he asked hoping this building hadn't been built on an earthquake fault!
I was watching a pancake start to bubble as Ratchet came into the kitchen. I looked completely human at the moment, in a professional dress suit complete with a tie.
I flipped it as he hurried about, preparing more tea. When he said that the mermaid had been killed... I paused, my eyebrows furrowing in confusion. I flipped the pancake.
... Where'd the Stingrey come from? I asked. ... I smelled a rat.

"Doesn't seem like an earthquake," said one of the scientists.
One of them was typing on a computer... Alex couldn't see the screen. "Err..."
Well, said the scientist, who he had been talking to, she glanced at the screen. Um.... When you see Finita, don't panic, ok?
That was weird for the scientist to say, at least for Alex... he had heard that Finita was a tiny scientist who was always shy and a hard time sticking up for herself.
Also, this project happens to be top secret... so we ask that you don't go telling anyone about it, ok?

Cecelia nodded, trying hard to ignore how that picture made her stomach roll. She looked down. "I understand." she said softly. "My I be there when you do bury her? I think it would be fitting to sing her off." She waved to Ratchet as he went by before quickly disappearing. He seemed to be really lively this morning. She tried to think like that, breathing deeply and putting aside her feelings for the moment. She didn't know Celeste well, but she still felt for the girl. Cecelia layed down on her belly, her tail casually swaying back and forth like a fan. He touched the glass where the minotaur sat. "Things happen. Perhaps it was meant to be." she remarked.
Finita looked to Cecelia, then nodded. If that is what you wish... It's probably just going to be you, me, Ratchet and Silvia anyhow... She didn't have much in the way of family and her ex already said he would kill her... I doubt he would be welcome for the funeral.
Glancing back at the door Ratchet had went through, she smiled. It's nice to see that Ratchet seemed to have gotten some sleep... he's been having sleep problems for a long time.
When Cecelia commented on how things were meant to be she nodded. But still... I don't like it... it's a terribly stupid way to go...

Cecelia shrugged. "I don't think so. From what I read, they can be decently formidable. She may not have known how dangerous they were. Like coming across a rather harmless looking snake." she said, rolling over. She was having a hard time remaining still. Her body felt really jittery of she stayed in out place for too long. "I don't really like it either. But there are stupider ways to go." she remarked. Really she was just trying to cheer Finita up. Though she would gladly admit she was doing a terrible job of it. "What's on the schedule for today?" she asked.
Possibly. Sighed the Minotauress. Nothing like looking for a milk snake and coming across a coral snake. Red touches yellow, you're a dead fellow; Red touches black, you're an okay jack. She recited, referring to the common similarities to the red-yellow-black banded Coral snake and the Yellow-black-red coloring of the milk snake.
She pulled a clipboard out of her bag which she still wore and flicked through some paperwork. Well, we were supposed to do the next ritual first thing this morning... though with the rain last night drenching everything and Celeste's death, I'm not sure we'll make it in time. I need to go yell at the contractors and arrange for a bio lab to be set up for the autopsy... the ritual area has to be bone dry so we'll have to wait for that... There's a new guy coming in to help with the project too that I have to meet up with... Hope I don't scare him out of his skin... greet any newcomers to the experiment... She trailed off as she read her to-do list for the day...

Cecelia listened patience, sometimes laying down, sometimes swimming in circles, sometimes sitting and combing her hair with her fingers. It seemed the woman was busier than she had first thought. She made being a scientist look easy. When she came to the end of the list, Cecelia made a promise not to put too much of a burden on Finitas by making too many selfish requests. Talking to the hired help would be the only thing. She wanted a few things put into her new house, if it wasn't too much trouble. She shook her head to get her thoughts back on track. "You are really busy." she remarked. "You know, if ever you need a calming song or something to get your energy up, just ask. I'll play for you. Like my gift for all you do for us." she said with a bright smile. She was very pleased with the idea herself.
That sounds nice. She said. Maybe after I'm done talking to the new guy and I've gotten the room ready for the autopsy. We won't be doing much after that while we're waiting for the chamber to dry out.

Ratchet sighed. "I really don't know honestly. Though Finita's all upset and mad, I'm hurt too. She seemed like such a nice girl too." He sighed then looked over to watch her flipping pancakes.
Wrapping an arm around her, he kissed the top of her head. "Did you sleep alright? I have to say you're body is very warm." he wispered to her flirting and blushing a bit.
--------------------------------------------------- Alex first looked at the woman as if she was crazy. What was the big deal about some short girl? Was it Finita's time of the month or something? Not really letting that fluster him Alex smiled kindly to the woman. "A-Alright. Oh and I know I won't blab! I promise." he stated happily.
He wondered what kind of project it was? Immediately he looked up when he heard the door open and in stepped a blue haired woman.

"Hi! Sorry I'm late, my car wouldn't start on me this morning!" she stated blushing shyly. The woman was tall and a bit curvy, it was clear she was in her early to late 20's. Wearing a beautiful light green business suit she walked over to the man and woman and smiled happily at them.
"I'm here about the test subject? I believe I sent you an application about a month ago?" she asked opening her large blue purse and fumbling around to find her wallet. Her hair was long but in buns and she had a flower hair clip. Her perfume even smelled of flowers.
Many would recognize her, she was the owner of the local flower shop in town. Taking a seat next to Alex she smiled at him. "Awe, aren't YOU cute! I bet the girls can't get their hands off you huh?" she lightly teased in a motherly tone. He looked young, these teenagers they never ceased to amaze her.

This needs looking into. If it has already found out-- I need that book. Curses! My mind reeled with all the annoying damn things I needed right now but couldn't obtain... it was an irritating feeling, to be sure... most of the time I just needed to wave a stack of fifties and the necessary item was in my possession. I doubted that would work here.
My mind softened and got all fuzzy when Ratchet kissed my forehead and flirted a little. I smiled and gave him a kiss on the lips in return, whispering back: I slept wonderfully. You are a very good cuddler.

The black haired scientist with thin glasses scientist smiled and nodded to Alex, and when the lady came in, he fetched a clipboard in which he presented the pretty blue haired woman the waiver/contract.
This is for formality. He told her. This is a top secret project, so we request that you don't tell anyone... and a little bit of a warning, you might not be seeing much of your family and friends for a while.

((lol yeah I noticed the gun. xD Well at least Switchem this time wasn't as rigged as it was for Halloween. It's such a fun game though. xD I hope I'll be able to get the rest of the items. The turkey hunt game is just too hard for my with my laggy computer. xP It's odd how the switchem game doesn't lag but the turkey hunt game does. Ratchet grew a bit concerned when he heard Silvia grumble about wanting the book again. Pulling her into his arms he kissed her lips again. Knowing where one of her ears was hidden Ratchet began to scratch behind it as he nuzzled their noses together. "I know...but from what happened last time. I..don't want you to die on me." he blushed.
"I love you after all. If you died I don't think I could take it." he said reaching out and flipping the pancake before pulling her into a kiss again. "Sorry..I just..want to hold you Silvia." he smiled shyly at her. "It's easy to cuddle when your fur is so warm and soft." he flirts again.
Suddenly the pot whistles and he sighs. Pulling away from Silvia, along with another parting kiss, he winks. "If your bamboo room gets too cold and lonely..my room is always welcome." he stated mixing and preparing a large portion of tea for Finita.
"Maybe...we could go out for lunch or something sometime? Or dinner? I would like to get to know you better." he smiled before leaving the room and walked up to Finita.
Gently handing the woman her tea he smiled at her. "Here you go! Now if you excuse me, I've got to shower and get dressed." he stated happily then blushed at a thought. "No peeking SIlivia!" he yelled back to the kitchen knowing she could hear him.
Happily humming he walked off. Ratchet was feeling much better today. Maybe it had to deal with the fact that..he was in love as well?
"I-I guess...." Alex said and blushed to the blue haired woman as another scientist led him to Finita's office to wait for her. The woman was gone at the moment, and he was told she would be right with him. Sitting in one of those large and cushy chairs he glanced around the room and noticed this woman seemed to love literature, both old and new. Just what kind of person was she? Alexander was honestly getting excited! He couldn't wait to meet her!
Olivia smiled warmly at the man and took the clipboard from him. That wasn't a problem because she wasn't married, nor dating, and most of her family was busy. Looking the form over she filled out the information and paused to look at one question.
What do you love the most? it stated and she chuckled.
Answering "flowers", she wondered why that silly question was there? Not knowing that it would help determine what ritual she would be performing. Honestly the woman thought she was going to be eating some kind of new food or trying out some new kind of drink.
Once she finished she handed the clipboard back to the young man and winked. "There you go cutie." she chuckled and then waited herself. Pulling out her smartphone she began to look through any missed calls and orders. Luckily she had other workers and had told them she might be gone a bit. She trusted these women and men and knew that they could run the story without her.
She was sworn to secrecy and it was kind of fun. Olivia couldn't wait to get this started and figured she would be gone for about a week or so. Boy, was she going to be surprised!
