It was a good thing Dakota had jabbed Ryan and made him move away, 'cause shortly after moving Dakota was hit again. Only this time it was a fire extinguisher.
Now partially blind and drenched, Ryan couldn't help but snort loudly at Dakota, before clapping a hand over his mouth. Though in spite of his efforts, his body shook with barely contained laughter.
"Wait--" Ryan tried to call after Dakota, however his voice failed him. He tried again. "Wait, you can't just leave her here. What would Candace say?"

"Did you find them yet?" The voice on the other end of the headset, aka, Mark was sounding a little nervous. "You gotta find them all and gather them back to where I dropped you guys off at.This portal doesn't like run on eternal juice, just so you know, you're in the heart of Excalibur and Merlin <********> territory here." A pause. "Hope it looks pretty cool at least. But yeah, grab the goods, head to floor one. I'm going to put you guys on open broadcast so you can at least coordinate with each other, for like help or stuff." OOC The message was sent to all Hunters! They can now talk to each other in all floors through the headsets too. Make sure to QUOTE all people you're addressing, or if it is an OPEN HEADSET BROADCAST, post the line in BOLD RED

Wilson covered his mouth with one hand to stifle the laughter threatening to come out. Oh Dakota..."Yeah, yeah you go do that," he snickered, but all of the amusement drained away when he turned toward Aria.
"Alright. I can't say we were ever friends before this because we weren't." You were my superior. "What we know about you we learned from our superiors." This wasn't a lie, because Aria was a superior. "We're not actually part of security here, I'll admit that, but our superiors did tell us to rescue specific people. And one of them is you. Why you needed to be rescued is something you'll find out later. It's sort of classified information, you know?" Wilson shrugged. "But if you don't believe us that's okay. I can't fault you for that. Everything must be confusing for you. It's alright if you can stay here and we'll be on our way. We'll just have to tell our boss we failed. Or you can just stay with us for a little while. Who else is willing to get you out of here? As I see it, we're your best chance at making out of this place alive."

FLOOR 7Wilson was going good. Real, real good until he got to the "classified information" bit. Those words brought the fire extinguisher nozzle up again. This time the hand holding the nozzle was shaking. Silence. Then: "Fine." Aria slumped her shoulders, lowering the nozzle. She bent down slowly and picked up her pepper spray, securing it in a locked position and pocketing it. However, she didn't let go of the fire extinguisher. Even though it was bulky and even though it looked like she was about to fall over, she clung onto it tightly. Sharp-eyed hunters would notice something written on the side. There was something about the brand name of it that seemed familiar, that could be seen: Symphony. She gave a tired nod. "Lead on. Just... Just get me out of here." Syusaki ARIA IS NOW FOLLOWING YOU! Floor 9Cass's pajama comment had Eden rolling her eyes, "It's Luau Day. I'm just glad you aren't wearing anything featuring parrots." After a long moment of consideration, she drew up her gun and lifted off of Marcus. "This all sounds pretty whack-a-doodle to me, like one of those rolling player games they have during the corporate retreats." There was another round of gunfire in the distance, followed by a pained scream. "Welp, I still don't exactly trust you, but looks like the time for QnA is up. Grab whatever you can that looks sturdy! We need to create a barricade to last until we can get out of here." She fired a shot into a figure lurching in the distance while her other hand tore a metal door off its hinges. For a second, she just stared at it in mild confusion, as if unsure if she should be able to do such a thing. Quote: COLLECT BARRICADE MATERIALSYour hunter can carry up to three items collected on this floor! They can drop items for better ones if they wish! You can roll as many times as you're willing to risk! The defense bonus will be added in the next stage! To collect items roll 1d10 1 : You grab a large clipboard! It looks very professional! +1 defense! 2 : You approach a filing cabinet and a zombie drops on you through the air vent. It has 20 hp and 3 auto damage! 3 : You grab a chair! It has wheels and spins in a mildly entertaining way! +3 defense 4 : You approach a desk, and a zombie hand grabs you and drags you under! It has 15 hp and 2 auto damage! 5 : You grab a large piece of a broken wooden desk! +5 defense 6 : You approach a bank of security monitors and notice the happenings on the other floors. It's kind of creepy and distracting! 7 : You obtain a wooden door through either force, luck, or cunning! +7 defense 8 : You find yourself face down on the floor, a figure in a Hawaiian shirt groans hopefully into your ear. It has 20 hp and 3 auto damage! 9 : You find a metal desk that's both lightweight and incredibly sturdy! +9 10 : You come up with some MacGuyver style defense s**t! Roll 1d20 to determine it's defensive effectiveness

He flinched when she suddenly raised the extinguisher. Okay. Wilson could see where he had gone wrong here, but it was too late to take back his words. "Does it look like I know why?" A rather convincing question. But actually he did know why. neutral "Try not to point fingers at the grunts, okay? Once we get out of here I'll be more than happy to direct you to the people in charge." At least this was the truth. Wilson adjusted his headset. "Looks like we have to head back to the first floor. So I guess we have no choice but to head for the elevator." He looked outside and paused. "...are you guys ready?" Out of the corner of his eye he spotted Aria again and smiled. "We'll definitely make sure you get out of here in one piece, okay?"
He was about to look forward, but did a double take as he looked at the side of the extinguisher. Hey wait a minute....

Dakota came back just in time to see that Wilson did it before growling over at Mark on the intercom.
"Bringing in a Survivor, Aria." Dakota didn't move until Ryan and Wilson led the way. And he kept a safe OUT OF RANGE FROM EXTINGUISHER AND PEPPER SPRAY distance from Aria.
over the headset, he said one last thing:
"Does anyone need back up?"

Floor 9 Cass shrugged. "Fair point. I'm not a fan of the Hawaiian print bit either." she consented - and then her headset went off, prompting Cass to look from Edenith to one ear. However, for the time being she decided to be quiet. They were already on kind of shaky terms, after all.
However, the sound of more gunfire and Edenith giving some orders had Cass moving rather quickly. "Got it! I'll be back in one piece and a jiffy!" As she began roaming to look for materials, she could hear Dakota over the headset, pausing for a moment before she quietly spoke into the headset.
"If you come up to the ninth floor, we've got Edith. Don't tell her you're security, I tried that and turns out she's head of it in this weird place. I don't know if she's expecting a cavalry or if she knows something we don't but she's having us make the fort before we can man the fort and defend it."
In the background of the transmission could be heard a loud CRACK as Cass put one foot against a doorframe and one hand on the knob as she yanked it off the hinges.[A wild Cass found a Wooden Door +7 Defense ]

Oh yes, thank you. He liked actually being able to breathe comfortably and stand. Standing was nice. Shaking out his sleepy leg, the moon hunter heard the call of his moonbro over the headset. "Cass and I found the moon princess so...." Who ripped a metal door off it's hinges. "I think we'll be okay.""Er-" Metal door aside, Marcus just looked at what they had on hand. Time to channel his own moon princess powers

"What meeting?" the voice sounded extremely suspicious, "I don't recall a memo going out earlier today about any meeting." There probably wasn't a memo about the state of chaos going around either but that didn't seem to stop them.
"That's exactly what I said," agreed Allen, taking another bite of said apple. "I told them I don't mind if this is your company's equivalent version of a good time, it's okay to be fun, but to also keep in mind that not everyone is as flexible and open minded as I am."
"And who are you?" Pause. "Is that my apple you're eating?!"
"I found it off the floor," Allen continued, "it's not like it had your name on it."
"That's because it's an apple."
"Case and point. Apples are as open as my stomach-"
"Allen!" A pause, and then a hasty- "Sir. Is this part of your 'keeping things exciting' motto?"
"Oh hey, you remembered me! It was probably the e for Exciting, wasn't it? Anyway, I had a swimming party planned myself, but a zombie takeover slash Hawaiian Luau party is pretty cool too. If it was just in the memo-"
- At this point the lights flickered on again to reveal someone who looked like the Death lead in an off-tan polo and khaki pants wielding a stapler. His arm was also notably bleeding and had been hastily binded with what was probably someone else's polo, unless he happened to own two.
"Wow," continued the stapler guy flatly. "Are you sure these guys are in the right department? I mean one of them looks exactly like Steve, from accounting." Unimpressed look at Jerry.

Edith had sort of trained him well.
He came to the barricade with a fairly large bookcase that seemed to be made of wood with metal shelves. Someone had raided the nice office.
It's not like those fancy potted plants and awards and things were using it or anything.
"Man, just like the good old days... only less foggy and talk about dying eh Cass?"

Dakota sighed in relief as hunters, two of which he also trusted were over the headset, his eyebrow raising just a bit. he hurried closer to Wilson, leaning down to whisper in his ear.
"Wilson, They found Edith on 9, Imma head up. I'll leave....that one to you." Dakota didn't have to say who THAT ONE was because THAT ONE would now become the one who shall not be named.
He disappeared, over the headset, he could hear Marcus saying that they'd be okay and snorted.
"No offense to Cass, but remember the last time she tried to build something?" he took the flights of stairs two at a time and hit floor 9 quickly. his weapon this time wasn't drawn and he held his hands out, in case Edith was still roaming around with a gun. "I'll be up anyways, We've got three with Aria, and we don't know what could happen."
Slowly he crept around.
"Cass....Marcus?" Dakota hissed, looking for the other hunters.

Floor 9 "I heard that, Dakota." Cass murmured into the headset, the sound of her dragging her lovely wooden door audible from the stairs to said floor. However, while Marcus was doing productive thing, Cass was making a motion to steal a desk when something grabbed her ankle, sending the wooden door slamming to the floor as Cass also hit said floor.
"Yep! And with more zombies too!" she agreed over the headset as she kicked her offender in the face and resummoned her weapon to get down to business to defeat the Huns

"Sweetheart... you did manage to make the hole um... extend as it were." Dakota sense tingled, moonbro was on his way.
"Dakota, give us a hand at building the wall- Cass I-" A heavy sigh.
"Really, everyone wants a piece of you Cass."
"Too bad I'm a bit of the jealous type."
He went over to stab at zombie head.
