"We should have slept on the beds." Malcom said, "Blankets are on beds, right?"

"It's always safer to sleep closer to doors." Hal closed the door behind them, pupils contracting quickly at the bright sun. "If you look up you can almost see the sky."

Malcom looked up at the sandy dome, looking for the sky before staring at the dot that was the sun. "Ah, Ah," he lowed his head and gave a loud sneeze, the intensity making him step back abit before he sneezed again. "Sorry."

"Bless you. The storm left us so the sand above will be thinner, look up when you can. I hear the sky is supposed to be blue." He looked in the direction Momo pointed, calculating before nodding. "That way exactly. We should get going." All of their bottles were filled, they had dried meat and a bit of soup left, so the android started walking.

Malcom did too, but was constantly looking up, hoping to capture this blue that Hal said existed. Not that he knew what blue was but he was sure it was pretty.

Hours passed, the sun now at its highest and hottest point. Hal-Cujo was panting, Malcom was looking sick again and the android looked at them before looking around, zooming in and out in hopes of some sort of shelter. There were buildings in the distance, but they looked so tall he knew they were far away. But it was odd, they should have at least come across other houses if they were this close. Everyone was beginning to overheat.

"I don't feel good." Malcom finally mumbled, holding his stomach. "I'm hot."

"We'll take a water break." Hal murmured, stopping and taking off his backpack to retrieve the water bottles. "We'll eat as well."

"But I don't feel good."

"You'll be okay. Drink some water first." and took out the water bottle, handing it to Malcom first. "don't drink a lot, we need this to last us. Hal, you come here." he brought out a bowl and filled it with water, offering it to him.

Malcom drank in a few large gulps, not wanting to drink it all and wiped his mouth, looking at Momo and offering it. "Water?"

"Why was the sand a good thing?" Malcom asked, sitting on the sand. "I don't remember it being this hot before." he pet the maned wolf who quickly sat beside him, panting hard after drinking and soon laying down on his side.

Hal kept on looking around. There should have been more houses here. Were they blown over? Torn down? He moved a few steps this way and that, scanning the horizon. This really wasn't right they should be in the suburbs or maybe even a ghetto--

The warnings lights went off, calculations stating that whatever he was on now would break if he added any more weight onto his right foot. He calculated the weight on his current foot, wondering what on eath was holding him up before realizing. That would explain why the ground was slightly hilly. ]

"What color is blue?" Malcom asked, flopping onto the sand at an angle, the blanket shielding his back from the hot ground.

"Oh. Really? I didn't know the sun was that hot. Was the sand not there before?" he looked at Momo's eyes, "Uh, which color? I see three." the small one, the ring one and the other one. "They kind of go from dark to light."

"I believe, we're standing on top of roofs." Hal said. "so what I'm scanning for, is a groof in be tween all these hills that goes in a straight line, because that will be solid sand. You two are safe I've checked. I, however, am not. Perhaps it's my weight, I am somewhat heavy."

"Can't you move?"

"I am carefully shifting my weight bac--" nope, it caved under as soon as all of his weight was on his left foot, landing hard and groaning. Whatever he landed on cracked, though. Upon inspection it was a table. "Something is, beating, oh I do not wish to move." he groaned, breathing slowly trying to figure out that highly uncomfortable feeling in his lower back. If he moved it moved and the beating, pulsing area only pulsed worse.

"But I want to see!" Malcom exclaimed, standing and going to check it out. Hal-Cujo bit onto the shirt and tugged him back.

"No, there is nothing in my system that is damaged." he called back up, "It is, uncomfortable. Incredibly so. I do not wish to move for the intensity of the uncomfortable feeling increases." he exhaled as though that would somehow help, "I think, I think I will lay here until this feeling leaves. Though I must admit it is quite cool down here. If you give me a few moments I will get up and see if there is perhaps an underground tunnel?"

"Understood." Hal looked around, the light revealing the dust covered area, "You can lower him down. It will definitely help him. But until then I will wait."

Malcom nodded, looking at Hal and trying to pick him up. "I've got him, Momo. Is Hal okay? He's not hurt is he? He didn't break anything?"

Malcom nodded, letting himself be tied up, clinging to Hal tightly as he was lowered. It took a while but soon he was standing on the sandy ground. "I'm good!" he called, letting go of Hal and started taking off the ropes.

Hal the android stood up, grunting a bit before standing tall, "We're all--"

The maned-wolf gave a loud growl, fur rising and teeth being bared, snarling at something in the dark.

Hal's eyes flickered, changing filters before seeing the mass of heat. "Malcom." he murmured, grabbing the rope and yanking hard, "Malcom grab Hal."

But it was too late, the hound snarled and he jumped at something that jumped at him, teeth and primitve noises coming from both beasts. "Momo pull him up!" hal cried, turning as sounds echoed behind him, leg rising and hitting the thing square in the jaw.

"hal!" Malcom cried. "Go get Hal!"

"In a minute." he promised, swinging his fist at another thing. "They're human!" he yelled, seeing the wolf leap from the twitching body onto another, writhing and snarling.
