Adrian nodded, for he knew all his crew knew their ways around locked doors. But he also knew that his crew wouldn't be foolish enough to cross him. If he locked a door, it was to stay locked, or be badly punished. He was a fair man, but he also wasn't one to allow his orders to be countermanded.
Adrian cracked open the door to pop his head in, "Would you like anything? Food or water? Lord knows she'll probably need both by the time she sobers up a bit." he said his gaze goign from Tahlia over to Adelaide.

Glancing at Adelaide, Tahlia sighed, and then nodded. "Yes please, I'm sure that would be helpful, if we'd like her to be up and about tomorrow." That was a dreadful lie, and Tahlia almost immediately regretted it- Adelaide had been blessed with never having hangovers. It almost made Tahlia jealous, not that she was allowed to imbibe anymore. Returning her gaze to the Captain, Tahlia sighed inwardly at the unconcious ache in her heart. He was reminder of everything she almost was, that was almost out of reach now. Giving him a wan smile, Tahlia inclined her head, every inch teh priesst Arianne at that moment. "Thank you again, for being so kind despite Adelaide's foolishness."

Adelaide made her way to the bed, wanting to sleep away the dizziness, and the hurt she knew she would feel tomorrow. She laid down quickly, making sure to be comfortable and shut her eyes. "Thanks." She said it loudly, and to the both of them. She hadn't exactly expected Adrian to help, and the fact that he had made Adelaide realize she had been going about this expedition wrong. Though she most likely wouldn't remember it in the morning.

"Don't mention it. We've all done foolish things at some point in our lives. Hers didn't put her in reckless danger. My foolishness has. Nearly cost me, my life, my crew, my ship." He then shrugged, "I'll be right back." he made a quick trip to the galley gathering whatever bits were left from supper, and brought the plate up for the girls. "You both need to eat, her after she's slept a bit. Anyhting put in her now, will just come right back." He said jerking his thumb towards Adelaide before locking his eyes on Tahlia. "You need to eat too. I'll see you both in the morning. Though, I'll let her out of work tomorrow. No one is any good when they are hungover. Good night." He said before stepping out and returning to his study to check maps and routes, making sure they would be able to resupply before the got to Homenai.

Tahlia gave a soft smile that didn't reach her eyes. She was worn out, and starting to get tired herself. As he walked away to grab the food, she glanced at the resting Adelaide, and sighed. She brushed the girls hair out of her face. "What am I going to do with you," She murmured, mostly to herself, before turning and watching the door. "Understood." She responded to his statement that Adelaide best eat later. Glancing at the food when he mentioned she needed to eat, Tahlia mustered up a nod. Her stomach was empty, though she felt no driving urge to fill it. The priestess fastings had accustomed her to the feeling. "Good night." She murmured, glancing up and him and smiling. "I'm sorry we've kicked you out of your cabin." She watched him leave, and then sat down and munched on a bit of dry bread and cheese.

((I'm too impatient, and craving RP.....MUST POST!!!))

As Adrian looked over the maps he realized that even with a restock, they were be almost out of supplies by the time they reach Homenai, and even he couldn't convince his crew to stick around too long without supplies. His hand strayed to his dagger again, gripping the handle. "Tahlia, I hope that whatever needs to be done in that Hellish land won't take long." he said glancing at Homenai on the map, "Your Goddess has some sort of a twisted sense of humor. Calling you to that place.......and dragging Adelaide and myself along for the ride. Am I really that important to this? I'm a bloody pirate." He growled, before cradling his head in his hands. "This whole mess is doing nothing but giving me a headache." he said before his mind drifted to Tahlia, "Well, I suppose one good thing has come of it."

Tahlia sat in the cabin, awake, the entire night. She alternated between rubbing Adelaide's back, ensuring there was a pot nearby in case of any unpleasantness and, when Adelaide finally drifted off to sleep, she ensured she was on her side. Her friend taken care of, Tahlia stared out the porthole, up at the night sky, from her place on the floor. A deep sigh made it's way from her chest as she reflected on the ways this journey was changing her. When they arrived in that dastardly land, would she even still be pious enough to rescue her goddess?

She glanced down at the clothes she wore, pilfered from their captain. Surely her goddess could overlook this, but what if she needed to be some holy beacon? Like the entire nation believed she was? Unbidden, the image of Adrians eyes as he teased her flickered into her mind. Not the whole nation. He, for whatever reason, didn't see High Priestess Arianne Kyoko, or whoever she was... He saw Tahlia.

The Tahlia she almost was, vibrant and wild and one with the sea. That Tahlia had no conflictions of loyalty or princesses for best friends. She loved only the ocean, and the sway of the ship. Thinking of Adrian again, Tahlia, or Arianne, or whoever, wondered if the Tahlia she almost was would have loved only the ocean. As her thoughts began to wander, she flushed, and shook her head. Such unholy thoughts, She scolded herself, even as her skin burned where Adrians clothes touched. Are unbefitting of who I am, no matter who it is I almost was.

As the sun began to rise, and the light filtered into the room, Tahlia shifted into a kneeling position, bent her head, and intertwined her fingers together in a prayer position. It was the tradition of Prisma's priestesses to greet the light of day with song- a tradition she had shirked in the past few days. Things had been rough, and dangerous, and she'd allowed her spiritual duties to fall to the wayside.

Opening her mouth, Tahlia began to sing. The words were of an ancient, holy language, unknown in meaning to all but the most devout, but the song itself- and the sound of her voice, were pure sweetness. The lilting tune had been sung in tiny cabins, and in the grandest cathedrals, and her voice had been trained to project to even the smallest corner of the giant holy buildings.

As it did now in the ship, unbeknownst to Tahlia- or more likley, Arianne right at the moment. Her head was bowed, and her eyes were closed, and as she sang, she felt close to the goddess she truly did worship, despite all that she had put Arianne through. The song fluttered in her heart before bursting out, in a range of the notes befitting the goddess of such varied colors.

Adelaide had muttered small apologies to Tahlia up until she fell asleep, feeling bad that her friend once again had to take care of her due to drinking when she shouldn't. What a wonderful princess she was . . . then again, if she hadn't become a holy knight, she most-likely wouldn't drink. Once asleep, her mind went over memories - as she normally didn't dream but recall things she had once forgotten. Though she wouldn't remember what she was remembering when she woke.

Being blessed with never acquiring a hangover, her eyes opened slowly to the singing she had been accustomed to hearing. Instead of moving in a way to show she was awake, she closed her eyes and clasped her hands together under the blankets slowly - praying herself as she should have been the entire time. Adelaide herself couldn't sing - she knew that from many many failed attempts - and it was a good thing that she didn't need to join along in the song.

Once she felt she had finished her prayer, she pulled the blankets off and stretched, trying to forget the heaviness in her heart. Of course she remembered why she drank, she remembered all events after too - she called that the curse that accompanied the blessing - and set her head into her hands. Out of all the times she had gotten drunk, this was the one time she wished she had a hangover.

She glanced over to Tahlia, unsure whether to call her by her given name or her priestess name. Once she finished her song, she addressed her the one way she knew wouldn't be wrong. "Hey Lia. . . I'm sorry about yesterday." Her eyes fell back to the floor in front of her. 'I should apologize to Adrian too. He did help after all. . . and I was a bit wrong about him.'

Glancing over at Adelaide, she smiled softly, sadly, and shook her head. "Oh, Ela... It's one thing to over imbibe with the castle guards who you've known your whole life, where there's a safe room waiting for you..." She shifted from her kneeling position, sitting on the floor and wrapping her arms around her legs. "But on a ship? A pirate ship, even. These men are trustworthy, I think, but they're... they're still men, Adelaide." Her eyes grew worried. "And men are... are not always kind to women as pretty as you."

It was hard to discuss this, especially since she wasn't sure just how much education Adelaide had received on the subject. She went from being a sheltered princess to a holy knight- what exactly were they told? Tahlia had been dodging advances since she'd first begun to show signs of womanhood, and her mother had told her, in explicit and bitter detail, just what the men would expect of her. But would Adelaide have received such a talk? Was she even aware of why what she had done was so risky? Surely ad adult woman would know? Groaning inwardly, she rested her forehead on her knees, before pushing to her feet. "I'm going to go get you something to eat." She rested her hand on Adelaide's hair for a moment, smiling sadly, before opening the door and slipping out of the cabin.

Adrian, having been out on deck had heard the singing. Though he was utterly confused he was sure it had to due with Tahlia being a priestess. When she slipped out of the cabin he was standing there, waiting for her. "You have a lovely singing voice. Though, I couldn't understand a single word of what you were singing, it still sounded lovely." He said with a small smirk. "How is our fair princess doing?" He then asked, genuinely concerned. "I've already spoken to my men. They should have known better than to let her drink that much."

Tahlia glanced over at him, strangely not surprised that he was standing there. She'd opened her mouth to make some sort of a witty retort- anything to direct away from the fact that she hadn't slept, her best friend had spent the night carousing, and she was fretting constantly in the back of her mind.

But then he threw her off with the simple compliment he offered as greeting. She blinked at him, and realized in a rush her voice must have carried. "Oh." Giving a wan smile, she glanced away. "Thank you. I'm sorry. I didn't realize my voice would carry. It's one of the ancient songs. I don't know what the exact translation is, but it's supposed to represent a prayer for a safe and happy day." When he smirked, she felt much more at ease, and glanced at the door.

"Well, she's feeling guilty, but that's about it." Tahlia wondered if he would call her out on the lie she'd made last night- that Adelaide would have a hangover. "I guess I thought the ship would get to her, but doesn't seem like it." Hestiantly, she glanced back over at him. "Thank you, but it isn't your mens' responsibilty to see she doesn't over imbibe. And she's always been fairly... skilled at drawing others into her mischief." Tahlia reflected a moment on all the narrow scrapes they'd gotten into.

Glancing up, she smiled slightly. Her eyes were a flat gray, though. "I was going to go get Ela some food." She inclined her head. "If you need anything, I'll meet you up on the deck afterwards."

Adelaide softly cringed into herself as she felt like she was being chided. . . which she probably was. Tahlia made a point, one that only made her feel worse. She could drink with the castle guards, they did what she told them to and always escorted her back to her room safely to guard it until the morn, but she had gone and gotten drunk, on a pirate ship. "I know. I know." She muttered, glancing at her friend on the floor. The look she was giving her made her heart heavier, and she sighed. "I know it's not a valid point here, but at least I put them off a little bit by making a fool of myself."

She uncurled and sat up straight finally, only for Tahlia to rest her hand on her head and then leave. "Thank you.." When she left, the princess let her head fall and she sighed heavily. Not only had she made a fool of herself in front of the pirate crew, she made the one person she wanted to keep happy worried and upset. "You always make messes, no matter where you go." The phrase she muttered to herself was something her mother constantly told her up until right before she left for knight training. Her mother had been right of course, she always seemed to get herself into trouble no matter how big or small.

Ashamed for her actions the night before, she laid back down and threw the covers back over her. She was acting more like the princess she was than the knight she was supposed to be. She was both, being a holy knight hadn't stripped her of her title or status but seemed to add to it, but she felt like she should always act knightly as Tahlia had shed who she was before to become Arianne.

Adrian nodded to Tahlia, "You find me. I'll probably be at the helm, and someone to talk to would be lovely. Especially if its a lovely person." He said, finishing with a small smirk. "Truthfully though, I am interested in this holy quest or whatever it is."
