Keisha: -Sitting in a corner of the thread, out of the way and fairly unnoticable, carefully making holes in a piece of leather.-
Yun: *is also pushed out to meet others*
Keisha: -Her ears twitch as the sound of newcomers reaches her, but she doesn't look up from her task. This part was particulary important, she had to make sure the holes weren't too large or so close to the edges that they'd tear.-
Yun: *notices another noodle in the corner working on something, he has a feeling he's supposed to talk with her but waits patiently over to the side watching her work*
Keisha: -The back of her neck prickles, sensing eyes watching her. It's kinda uncomfortable, but she doesn't look up as she carefully works another hole into the leather.-
Yun: *notices his staring is making her slightly more comfortable, isnt sure whether or not he should say something but it looks like intensive work and he doesnt want to mess her up*
Keisha: -Finally the staring is too irritating to handle. She looks up, scowling fiercely, and looks around until she spots Yun.- What are you staring at? -Tone of voice is tart and annoyed.-
Yun: oh I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable, its just it looked rather interesting what you where doing, and I didnt want to speak up and mess you up.
Keisha: -Still looking grumpy and reproving.- So you thought staring at me wouldn't be distracting?
Yun: mmm no I figured in the long run that it would probably end up causing you discomfort, so I was trying to find a way to watch and not be disruptive, I hadnt come up with any good ideas unfortunately before you called out.
Keisha: -Rolls her eyes skyward as though begging patience from the deities, then looks back to the task between her paws.- Well now you just seem creepy. Maybe next time you'll learn to speak up, or everyone you meet will just think you're a creeper.
Yun: Well I guess if that's the worst others think of me, I'll be fine *doesn't seem fazed at all* although if you wanted privacy this isnt exactly the place to be working on that, you're bound to track attention.
Keisha: -She glowered at the cloud-colored male, irritated that he should think to lecture her.- I don't care if people want to watch me work. I'm used to that. It's when people are trying to be overly subtle yet still clearly watching, like stalkers, that I take issue.
Yun: and here I am pissing you off again. Here let me make it up to you, its the least I can do for being an apparently creepy lecturing stalker towards you *shuffles through his things and pulls out a set of Coupons* Its a couple coupons for coffee and to a musician I know of.
Keisha: -She took one look at the tickets and had to clamp down on the urge to knock them out of the male's hand. Who did he think he was? Did he think he could just buy her into a good humor by throwing some pretty baubles her way? Her voice turned frosty.- No thank you. It would please me very much, sir, if you left now.
Yun: *sighs and shakes his head* I think you're completely misunderstanding me, but its understandable considering we havent really been seeing eye to eye from the beginning. I want to say I'm sorry once again for upsetting you. Good luck on your piece it looked like it would come out pretty amazing and really do come by if you want, best day would probably be thursday that way you dont have to deal with me at all or just disregard it what so ever *walks a good distance away from her to hopefully get out of her "Bubble and goes back to working on the reason he came into town in the first place*

Phoebe: *wandering around, gaining her bearings*
Hmm... Rather small town. 8T
Keisha: -It was a nice day out, the sun providing warmth while the wind held only enough of a bite to keep the day on the cool side. She had rolled up the canvas walls of her outside workstation and had a wide strip of leather on the table in front of her, meticulously cutting long slits up the length of it in preparation for her latest project. She lived close to the edge of the little town she called home, a place that was mostly families and family-owned craftshops. A lot of artists lived here, enjoying the quiet country-side as a freedom from the distration of large cities.-
Phoebe: *finds herself already at the other end of the town, looks around*
Really? *scoffs before spotting movement in a covered area* Finally.
*makes her way over to the stranger, calling out* Hello, there!
*smiles brightly, attempting to appear friendly and unintimidating*
Keisha: -She jumped a little as a sudden voice rang out. She set down the sharp knife she used to cut the leather, thankful that she hadn't had the blade to the leather when the person had called, lest her jumping cause the knife to shift and mar the leather. It was that that instantly gave her the feeling this person was a stranger to the village before even the sound of voice or sight from her eyes could confirm it; everyone who lived here knew Keisha and knew not to disturb her when she was concentrating on a task, in case she startled like she had just a moment ago and have an accident of some kind. Since there was no harm done to herself or her work there was only the mildest of frowns on Keisha's face as she looked up, spying a cream and pink colored female at the fence that separated her property from the road that ran in front of it.- Hello. How can I help you?
Phoebe: *uses her sweetest tone* Well, I guess I was initially curious about this town...
But now I'm sort of wondering whatcha doing~?
*her tail wags, her eyes scanning the stuff before the stranger*
Keisha: -She gave the female a considering look, head tilting ever so slightly so that her long hair swayed gently beside her face. Then she straightened her head, appearing to have come to some kind of decision.- I'm making a mystery braid for a bracelet. You're welcome to watch, if you'd like.
Phoebe: *perks, curiousity taking over* "Mystery braid"?
*giggles lightly* What is that? ... If you're allowed to tell me.
*nods* I would love to, since you offered.
Keisha: -She gestured to the little gate that opened to a path towards her house and her workshop.- Well come in, the gate's unlocked. It'll easier to show you than to tell, though it's no secret. Mystery braids are quite common among leather bracelets.
Phoebe[/b: *makes her way to and through the gate*
Hmm, I've never met anyone that actually worked with leather before~
*smiles again as she reaches the other* I'm Phoebe, by the way.
Keisha: -She returned the smile, perhaps not with the same open friendliness that the other female affected but it was a smile of welcome nonetheless.- I'm Keisha. I don't work just with leather, though it is my primary craft. I can do a bit with wood and glass as well. -She turned her focus back to her work station and on the strip of leather, one end held in place by a nail to a block of wood. The leather had two long cuts paralleling each other, dividing the leather into three strips, yet the cuts stopped several inches short of both ends of the strip. Keisha gathered the strips carefully in her paws and began to braid them. It took her only a minute, simple as it was. Done, she spaced the braid out them pulled the whole thing off the nail that had been holding it and ran both sides over smooth slab of stone sitting on the counter. She held the finished braid up for Phoebe to see.- See, nothing to it. I'll have to trim up the ends and add a fastener of some kind to it, and then it'll be done. Unless I want to decorate it a bit first, I'm still not sure if I'm going to do that or leave it plain.

Phoebe: *nods in greeting* Oh, cool! You certainly are a girl of many talents!
*beams, a bit of flirtation slipping in, before she's caught up watching Keisha work*
Woah. *stares, wide-eyed, at the finish product* That was so quick! *blinks*
I don't even think I caught all that you did. There was braiding and then.. unbraiding?
Yet braiding at the same time... *shakes her head, laughing* Man, that is some skill.
Keisha: -Her smile was a shade warmer for the praise Phoebe had given her, but she felt compelled to remain honest.- It only looks more complicated than it is. Once you've done it a couple times the movements start to feel natural. -A glimmer of humor touched her mouth.- Though if you think the three-strand mystery braid looked interesting, you might like the five-strand. It's the same technique I just used, though there's a few minor differences. -She set the braided bit of leather on her table and brought out a cylindrical length of wood and a charcoal stick. The wood gradually tapered, small on one end and larger on the other. Keisha picked the bracelet up and wrapped it around the wood, sliding it until she found the spot she was looking for, then made marks on the leather with the charcoal. She slid the bracelet further up for a larger fit and made another set of marks, then set the bracelet back and the table and put away the sizing stick and charcoal.- Hmmm. I think I might keep it plain. Plain sells just as well as decorated since some people prefer to keep their jewelry simple.
Phoebe: *returns the smile a bit too much before dropping it slowly*
My newbie self will probably take a while to get used to that type of movement.
*looks reluctant to admit, but actually isn't* I ... I'm a bit of an artist myself.
Mostly with paints or food. I've never tried leather working...
*watches Keisha more before nodding, agreeing whether it's needed or not*
Yeah, with a base as beautiful as that, I can't imagine decorating it.
Keisha: -She laughed, a soft breathy noise of amusement.- Well no one can be good at all kinds of crafts. You can only devote yourself to so much and expect to be good at it before you can only count yourself a dabbler in other things. -She lifted a paw, brushing some of her bangs to the side.- I'm only a dabbler in food. I can make decent, edible stuff, but it's all fairly plain. I can paint leather, but that's as far as that goes.
Phoebe: *momentarily looks affronted before forcing her smile*
No, of course not. But, then again, one shouldn't "put all their eggs in one basket."
I think that with enough time one could be proficient in anything.
*chuckles, superior like* Ah, yeah, cooking can be such a challenge.
You have me on... this. *frowns, displeased to admit, while gesturing*
It would be fun to learn, though. *sighs wistfully*
Keisha: I think I could learn cooking just fine if I wanted to. It's just I don't really have the time to devote to the fancier or more complicated stuff when I could be doing something else. -The most complicated she ever got was tossing a variety of stuff in a pot and let it simmer all day. Fancy stuff was wasted on her since her palate was only able to pick out a very small range of vegetables and the more popular and fragrant spices. She gave Phoebe another considering look.- I doubt you'd ever have time to be more than a dabbler with leathers, but there's a variety of stuff you can do on the beginner level. I can even show you how to do a mystery braid since it's not that hard, or tedious if you're doing a short braid. -A corner of her mouth quirked up in a grin.- Actually, braiding is the least tedious part of the whole process to make a bracelet.
Phoebe: *sideway glares at Keisha, but forces a quick smile, not wanting to lose her current entertainment*
Fair enough. Cooking is best only when one has the heart for it. *shrugs*
*head jolts back, obviously insulted* I'll have you know I have plenty of time
to learn any new skill that I wish. *pouts but drops it* I would love to learn if you can teach.
*smiles, issuing a challenge*
Keisha: -Sees the feeling of insult and the challenge in Phoebe's eyes, but her only response was to shrug. It wasn't any of her business if the other wanted to trot out her pride, nor was it any skin off her nose if that pride got trampled on. Plenty of people came through this town thinking they could master a craft with ease, only to realize just how much work was involved. And maybe Phoebe did have what it took, however...- I'm no teacher. Simple braids or letting people watch as I work is one thing, but I'm afraid I don't have the patience to do more than offer advise as a fellow crafter. -She reached out and pulled a strip of leather from a small stack on the table towards her, picking up her blade and beginning to carefully cut two strips into it.- This doesn't come free, by the way. I'll show you how to do the three-part mystery braid, even help you size it, trim it, and put rivets in it, but if you want to keep the bracelet you'll have to think up some form of payment or trade. -She paused in her work to glance up.- Leather can be expensive, and I'm only a dabbler in tanning my own.
Phoebe: *shrugs* We shall see how you are... *watches Keisha silently as the other sets up another*
*frowns* Hmm. Is there a service I can provide you in turn? I could pay but I tend not to wander with money in a purse.
You'd have to take me at my word that I'll return if you'd rather have payment.
*nibbles the inside of her mouth, thinking* I don't even have much to trade on me. Unless you'd like one of my bracelet? *lifts a forepaw to show off the ruffled fabric bracelet*
Keisha: -She chuckled softly under her breath as she examined the two cuts she'd made in the leather. Satisfied, she used an awl to make a small hole and set the strip up on the nail, then started on another bit of leather. She'd slow down and make sure Phoebe had the general idea for the braid, then have her do it herself on the leather she was preparing now.- Why don't you show off your cooking skills for me, then? See if you can take the plain fare and herbs I have now and make something spectular out of it that I wouldn't be able to do. -She glanced up, amusement and her own hint of a challenge glinting in her eyes.-
Phoebe: *smiles, brimming with delight at Keisha's choice*
Sounds like a fair deal to me. This is turning out to be a fun-er day than I expected.
*moves to closer to Keisha* Shall I take this one *points to the leather already prepared*
or the one you're cutting now? *watches Keisha's preparation, for future reference*
Keisha: -She didn't look up from her work.- Whichever you please. They're going to be the same, so pick whichever one you think looks best to you, and we'll start once I finish this one. -She carefully lifted her blade from one completed cut, then moved over and started the second.-
Phoebe: Alright. *nods head before touching the one already done* We'll stay as is. It'll be easier.
*smiles honestly before glancing around*
So do you live here alone? *smooths paw over the leather strip, mostly to feel the material*
Keisha: Yes. I moved here from my hometown a couple years ago. It was also a craft-y place, my hometown, but I felt like I needed a change. What about you, you live anywhere around here?

I'm trying to get Muse to think on Keisha and Meris, so that way we have everything settled and can LM once babies from the ONS are here. Or at least we can LM between kit and adult stages, if we don't want to rush it too much.
[6/15/2015 7:17:35 PM] Jinx: So what happens is the father of the kids is going through this severe, suicidal depression which involves a ton of alcohol. Keisha finds him and helps him. Yushi and I haven't decided if it's a true ONS or if Sven comes back every now and then since it's a place to sleep and Keisha knows cures for hangovers and such, but either way, babies. Then Sven panics and runs off. Eventually he'll come back, have to do some serious groveling, and will be a part of the kit's lives before they grow up completely.
Muse figures we might slip Meris in before Sven comes back. Not so much in the capacity of a surrogate father, more like he's in the area for a bit and sympathetic to Keisha's situation and tries to help out. What does Meris think?

However for Keisha and the children he probably wouldnt do anything because truly its how she felt on the matter. He might eventually warm up somewhat after Sven did all that groveling and showed he is going to be there for them. although you probably couldnt tell unless you knew him
