Waiting for an answer, Imara was silent. She had heard of the phoenix's healing powers, but did not know how they worked, exactly. Apparently, they came from the bird's tears. It was interesting to her, and she wished she could know more about the strange creature. She studied Ammar's face, searching for any sign of a response. Then, something strange and... wonderful, happened. He held her face in his hand, which easily covered the side of her face, leaned his head closer to her, and kissed her. Her heartbeat increased greatly, pounding in her chest and in her ears. Memories flooded into her mind. Running with the herd, following Ammar as he led them through the forest, his long hair streaming out behind him and the sunlight dappling his fur. Midnight hunts, when the only thing that could guide them safely to home was the sound of their hooves against the ground. Explorations of the territory in which getting lost was a common event. The night he was attacked by the spider, how pained she was to see him suffer to effects of the poison. Staying with him in the castle as he healed. That last night in the forest, standing guard together. The morning of this very day, as they held each other in mourning. The stream, which flowed calmly and slowly that had helped her to forget her sadness and focus on the task at hand. The battle they just fought, side by side, working together as a team to take down their enemies. And now, this moment. All of these things flashed in her mind as she kissed him, a small flutter in her heart as it skipped a few beats.

The battle continued, friends perished and foes disintegrated by the minute. Moans of the wounded could be heard from both sides, whether it was a bludgeoned enemy or an injured centaur. Friends, people from the main herd, died in this long battle of good and evil.

Sagi, feeling oddly compassionate for the fallen warriors, knelt down beside a centaur warrior she had known, but never paid any attention to. She closed his eyes that stared blankly into space, facing West. Those eyes, void of light, still burned with courage and a ferocity that any lions and lioness would fear. Sagittarius wiped the blood from the stallion's head, revealing the once snow-white skin under the partially dried blood.

She didn't have enough energy to fight. Even kicking away the various members of the family, it wouldn't relieve her of the sadness surrounding the fallen. There were no such things as a bloodless battle, but why was it such a bloodbath? "I thank you for your kindness, warrior," Sagi respectfully said, which deeply contrasted her earlier behavior. "As warriors, we expect nothing less than death during battles. Let the stars decide our fate, let the forest guide our blood. Dying as warriors is the most honorable action for us." And Sagittarius truly believed the words she just said.

What did the wizard think of her little babble? Sagi wondered. The mare watched as the wizard turn away and ran off in the aid of one of their own. An injured child, who braved the face of danger. Warriors came in all ages and sizes, with different strengths and weaknesses. This girl has shown hers, and received those scars to prove her bravery in battle.

Sam looked up when Caitlin said something and was rocked in the jaw by a surprisingly powerful punch. He staggered back a little and touched his face. She was stammering and apologizing, but Sam felt a chuckle come up and soon he was laughing. For some reason, he felt like laughing. His face hurt pretty badly and suddenly, Cait was hugging him. She opened her eyes and looked at him. He touched her cheek and leaned down to kiss her.

Jane didn't want to leave the house but knew she could be of no more help. She walked from the house ready to offer any assistance to anyone she could but knew she couldn't do much so instead she stood, hands tucked deep into her pockets and simply listened to what was going on around her. Everyone seemed to emotionally drained. There were a lot of tears and it seemed for once in her life none of those were coming from Jane. Maybe she was growing out of that or maybe she was just in shock. The latter seemed a lot more likely. In another part of the area she listened slightly to the argument going on between Sam and what apparently was his girlfriend. Jane couldn't help but roll her eyes a little. Was this really the time? There were dead and injured all around them they were arguing. Her thoughts were interrupted by screams and a yell from Ron. She looked over and saw a bleeding Michelle being helped by Ronyo. She rushed over to the girl and held out her hand to help her walk. Her attention was again drawn by more arguing and she looked just in time to see Sam get punched in the face. She stared for a moment and smiled ever so slightly. She was suddenly reminded of Allen and the "Plate incident". Men would never learn would they. As most as soon as her attention was drawn from the girl and came back again trying to help anyway she could. This certainly a busy night and they still be there for a while. Jane assumed that any moment the place would be swarmed with Aurors, probably asking for statements. That was what she hoped anyone. She wanted to help from others no matter how little.

ℋeather blinked back to the real world after escaping into the emptiness in her mind. It was quiet and safe there, and she liked it. She looked next to her to see a woman sitting with her. She introduced herself as Tamara, and a tiny light bulb lit up in her brain. "Tamara? Tamara Radcliffe?... You're a Chimera. Just like I am... My name is Heather." she said in a whisper. Her throat burned from shouting so much that day, so she tried to keep her voice low. Calming draught? She eyed the potion that was being given to her, then shook her head. "Oh, umm... Thank you, but no. I-I'll be okay. I'm just... frazzled. If that makes sense at all." she replied, crossing her arms and resting her head on them as she leaned against her knees. She didn't think anything could help her right now. She felt so small, so powerless. Heck, she didn't even have her wand or her bat. Without those things, she could do nothing. That's what she felt like now: nothing. Her body whined for rest, but she would not sleep. Sleep meant dreams, and dreams meant more haunting's of the events that had occurred over the past few days.

Ⓡⓔⓜⓨ looked at Sam as Caitlin punched him. She was about to go to his rescue, when he started laughing. She lifted an eyebrow and watched as Sam kissed Caitlin. Remy turned her head and stood on shaky legs. She walked as far away from them as she could, secluding herself in a shadowed corner. She collapsed to the ground, her ankles nearly bleeding from the strain. She laid on the ground and curled in a ball. She vaguely hoped she would get forgotten there, left to die alone.

Tam threw a glance at Chris. "It's alright Chris. I understand. You could see if anyone needs assistance inside or hang around out here." Then Heather spoke up. Tammy smiled. "I'm not technically a Chimera. I just support them. You sure?" she asked, then capped the vial and put it away. The other girl walked a few feet then collapsed. Tammy got up and walked over to Remy again. "Are you alright? Here, drink this," she said and offered her a calming draught.

((Sorry, no fancy formats for this post! Hope everyone can keep track of all the characters I will posting in this one post. It is going to be a lot of back and forth, and for that, I apologize))

When the chains around Lilith were severed, she felt the weight of years slide off of her shoulders. Like a snake shedding its old skin, she watched as the old her fell away. The years had been long. The Family had been the only ones to know where she had been all this time, keeping her to themselves like a child with a bug. Or a pet. Rather, she was more of a pet to them than anything. A weapon. A tool. It was disgusting to her and she had loathed it the moment they had revealed their plan to her. The day she had been stolen from her home, the day that everything had changed.

She approached Dragon, placing a gently hand on his face. His silver eyes looked up at her, slowly, with shame. He beat himself up when he did not accomplish what he set out to do. It was something that he had always done, that she had always witnessed of him even the day when he was turned by his maker. Lilith had even warned his maker of this, who simply nodded with a grin. They, both, had been cut from the same stone.

Glancing at the wound holes in each of the vampire's chests, Lilith smiled warmly, "I spread the rumor," she tilted her head, then went on to clarify, "When I was younger, I was worried that the vampires would have something like this happen to them... so, I told them that being stabbed in the heart with wood could kill them. It does not. It simply paralyzes us,"

It was her dirty little secret. One of many.

She continued, "Rise, Dragon. And do not blame yourself. No one knew of my whereabouts. The Family had been very thorough," Dragon stood as he was told. Lilith glanced uneasily at Strike, who had not removed his foot from Father's chest. Hadn't even recognized her when he first glanced at her emerging from the shadows. The name, however, had struck a chord in him and he looked up at it.

With a whisper, Strike spoke, "Lilith? One of the first Councilors?" his voice was weak with awe. He had heard of this Lilith. Heard about how she had been taken and never seen from again. He, like many other vampires, had thought that she was killed. Given the final death. A vampire's worst nightmare. He had never really thought about her, because he had never met the woman. In fact, it was around the time that he had turned that she had mysteriously gone missing.

Lilith saw this realization in his eyes and nodded, slowly, "Yes, two hundred and ten years ago, I was taken," her eyes welled with tears as she slowly approached Strike. A feeling inside her flared, and she was sure he felt it, too, now. Now that the gears in his head were turning. He was getting it now.

"No..." he whispered, trying to suppress the feeling in his chest.

With rage he looked down at the man, pressing his foot down until he heard a loud crack of a rib. The man screamed, the sound filling Strike's ears, helping him forget what this Lilith was trying to tell him. A smile of cruelty spread across his face as he watched the man under his foot squirm. No, he would not hear of it. He could not! This was a cruel joke that the fates had played on him. It was not possible...

Lilith stood there, her cold eyes watching him. Gray, like an overcast day. She watched the man before her with patience, then spoke softly, "As your maker, I command you to cease this,"

The room grew quiet. Strike was frozen in place, feeling as though part of him shattered. All these years... he had been left to find his own way of how to be a vampire. Killing so many because he didn't understand that it was bad. He had frenzied so many times before he learned how to control his strength and hunger. Cold-blooded killer that he was, he had no one to show him the way. He couldn't even remember his life before being a vampire. Strike had been lost, confused, and empty. So empty all those years.

"You don't remember, and I know why," she couldn't read his mind, not like she could Yuan's or Jason's, but she was good at reading emotions on faces because of her ability, "Adrian Johnson... many years ago, you were a human man. And you were kind, and generous, and loving. You fell in love with a woman and courted her. It was... the happiest day of her life. This woman was also being chased by another man. A cruel man. A jealous man. He did not want her to be with you.

"There came a night where the man wanted the woman to choose between him and you. His argument was that he was a wizard and you were simply a muggle. You couldn't promise her the life that she could get from him. But, of course, she disliked this other man, and choose you,"
she smiled, placing her hand gently on Strike's shoulder. He was quivering now, "The woman is me. I wanted you as my fledgling. But the wizard, an ancestor of this man here... he couldn't handle it. Being denied. He watched as I turned you, in shock. But then... he came to as I fed you my blood. As you were being turned, he cast the Killing Curse on you, and tore me away from you by wand point.

"The Killing Curse does not work on vampires in the same way as it does mortals. There is no soul there to rip from the body. You were still part human and part vampire when it hit you. It took away the soul you had, and all the memories with it. All your memories of me, gone,"
she whispered the last part.

With a steady voice, she continued, "Since that day, I have been here, waiting, collecting information on this Family. A few years ago, they found a mortal with information on vampires. Tortured him, extracted the information, and it was the first time I heard your name mentioned in years. But not as Adrian. As Strike. At least I knew you were alive.

"That's when The Family rose to its highest point, and I knew I had a lot of work cut out for me,"
she nodded to Yuan, "One of which was watching the movement of everyone that would get themselves involved. When I saw you and your child, Yuan Trinity, I apologize, I had to request The Family bring him here to send you a message. Those images that I had collected these many years,"

Lilith smiled at Yuan and then at Jason, "And the vampires will honor your name, Jason Hill. You will all be considered friends of the vampires,"

Strike listened, silently, as this woman told her story. He wasn't sure if he believed her. In fact, he didn't know what was going on in his head. In one day, he had found his lost fledgling and his maker. He had taken down The Family, and he found out that a vampire's weakness was a lie for all these years. What more could happen?

Then, the man at his feet laughed. A gurgle of a laugh, but it was distinctly a laugh. He coughed, grabbing at Strike's leg, tears rolling down his cheeks. He knew something they did not. That they had missed. Overlooked.

Strike hissed, "What's so funny, scum?" he pressed a little harder, triggering the man to cough again.

When the man had enough air in his lungs, he looked up at Strike, "Do you think I would carry on my family's work just to end like this? We were n-never planning on winning a fight with the vampires," he laughed again, this time worrying the three vampires in the room. They silently looked at each other until the man regained his composure, "Right now, there are vials on v-vials of your precious Arachnid's blood on the w-wizard market... it was never going to be about winning this wi-with a battle against you, Strike," the man smirked, "Hurry, or your fledgling will die,"

The light in the man's eyes faded and Strike listened as his heartbeat soon followed. The other two vampires looked with concern as Strike stood there, motionless. Lilith glanced at Dragon, and then back to Strike, her hand still on his shoulder, "I am... so sorry," she whispered, but Strike pushed her off, his eyes on the ground, filling with tears. He looked up at her and then turned to run off, up the stairs to where Jack was.

Dragon stood beside Lilith, "Should we follow him?" he looked after where Strike had run off to.

"No, it's best to let them talk for a moment," Lilith whispered, looking after where Strike had run off.

((This is the best time for Jason and Yuan to ask what Father meant, if you guys want.))

Ⓡⓔⓜⓨ looked up at the woman again. Her ears had picked up a name, Tamara. She shook her head and laid back on the ground. She didn't want anyone else's help. She rolled over, preferring to stare at the building. Hey, she'd been staring at a wall for days, it seemed natural to want to look at the same sight, since she still felt tortured.

Sehza flew everywhere, to every body she could see. The ones that were still alive, she healed with a few of her tears. The others, the ones that were cold and had a glazed look in their eyes, did not react to her tears. She cried and cried for them, trying to bring them to life again, but ultimately failed every time. So many were dead, gone forever from this life. Maybe they would find a new life, like she did when her body lit up in flames and she was reborn. Would these warriors be reborn as well? To live another life, a peaceful life, where no one fought each other or killed or died? Was there such a life? Sehza didn't know. The wounded were all taken care of, and she circled around and headed back towards the house. Her eyes spotted Remy, Heather's sister, and flew to her. She appeared to be sad, but Sehza could sense the pain still in her from her injuries. They were healing, but not fast enough. The phoenix carefully clawed at the girl's bandages, pulling them away and revealing the burns on her wrists and ankles. They made her cringe, but not back down. A few tears dripped onto each wound, and they sizzled slightly before being fully healed. There wasn't much else she could do, since her powers only worked on physical wounds. She could not heal the injuries inside someone's heart and soul. Instead, Sehza cooed and rubbed her head against Remy's before taking off in flight once more. She landed next to Heather, and nestled down beside her, wishing to go home with her family.

Jason growled low, his eyes blazing. Just what was that fool babbling about? Did that mean something else was happening? He looked over to the vampiress, his eyes already holding the question he was sure she knew he was going to ask. Just what the bloody hell was going on here? Wasn't it bad enough that this had to happen, that someone had to destroy more? Disgust filled him at that thought. What the bloody hell was the point of any of this, anyway?

He looked over to Dragon, and then back to Lilith.
"He meant to destroy the very reason Strike came here. That's what he did." He spat on the corpse. Bloody fool. "He didn't care that he died, but that Jack would perish. Coward."

And now I walk a lonely road...

Chris shook his head, realizing that Tammy didn't really understand, not quite anyway. He'd only just recently been turned. He could do a lot of damage with a touch right now, and that was something he refused to let happen. He bit his lip then. It was definitely hard, trying not to feel hungry at the scent of so much blood. Closing his eyes, he had to back up. He didn't want to accidentally feed on someone to be honest. "Sorry, I, I can't. It's..." How could he explain without telling her? He shook his head instead. Maybe it was a mistake to talk to her. Besides, there were no others here that recognized him. Maybe he could slink back into the shadows and wait for Dragon. It did seem best.

With no light to guide my way.

Yuan was sure as heck surprised to hear what the woman said. Strike's maker and....lover? Once upon a time when he had been human he had fallen in love with her. This family...they had been built out of jealousy. What were they in some kind of story book? While Lilith spoke Lior quieted slowly on his shoulder the small boy still shook though. All the while Yuan rubbed his back and murmured softly to him trying to keep his attention on what was going on . This was turning into an interesting little mess. Strike didn't seem to take the news too well but there was no denying it when Lilith commanded him to stop. Cripes....two hundred and ten years of never knowing who you were. How hard that must be. A spike of sympathy rolled through Yuan towards Strike. He didn't understand it but still how horrible it must be. His mind though was mostly focused on what she said next. She spoke to him and Yuan honestly didn't know how to react. She was the one who had the Family take Lior to free her. He should be angry he really should but right now he was just tired.

Shifting briefly Yuan bent plucking his son's dropped panda from the ground and offered it to the boy. Quickly and briefly the tiny arms released his neck to snag the toy before latching on again. Not a word came out of the boy though as he was still calming down. "For the vampire ignorant person here, would it be too much to ask for someone to explain what he meant? What work? What's wrong with Jack?" Yuan didn't know much about the beings known as Vampires. He couldn't believe his ears when he heard that stakes did nothing to them. But Jack's blood on the market? He was going to die? What on earth was going on here? The raven haired Seer was certain that he knew not a thing that was going on and frankly he didn't like it. He had hoped Strike would leave here with what was precious to him just like Yuan was. He had not hoped that he would be the only one to walk away with his child. Looking from Jason to Dragon to Lilith his eyes easily conveyed the confusion he felt. Hopefully this wasn't supernatural knowledge only.

Caitlin's eyes fluttered shut, the first time she wasn't afraid to close them. She felt his lips on her's and was warmed by them. That's when she realized how tired she really was. She hadn't slept since she left her house. Caitlin's legs threatened to give way, but she pushed through it. She wrapped her arms around his neck and layed her head on his shoulder, careful of where she hit him. She really didn't mean to, she supposed he forgave her though.
