"So how does mac and cheese with a baked potato sound?", she asked the girl. As she kind of skipped in joy to the kitchen.

Mel smiled at that. "Sounds great." she said. Then asked "What time is James gonna be home?" she asked, worried about going back into the cage. She hoped they let her stay in the house soon, even if it's just to sleep on the couch.

Mel nodded, and then smiled. She was glad to sleep inside. It got really cold at night. Sometimes she had to shift, just to keep warm. And sometimes bugs tried to land on her. The cage was a bad place to sleep in. She was glad Athena had so much authority over James.

As the potatoes were in the microwave. Humming she gently swung her legs a bit. Figuring she could catch him online later when Mel was asleep. Since she did not like to blow off the newly shifting cougar.

Mel noticed Athena's behavior. "You're happier than usual today. Did something happen?" she asked. She wondered if it had to do with why Athena was laughing earlier. Did she see a video online, or did she meet someone? Mel had heard of people dating on the internet without ever really seeing the other's face. She never tried it, but wondered what it was like. She suddenly noticed her nails. They were a bit longer than normal, and sharper too. Was that from shifting? Or were they longer because she hasn't been able to cut them? She could tell they were tougher than normal.

Getting off the counter she grabbed a small file used on like a young pony's hoof. "These work best, emery boards would wear down to fast.", she said. As the file was not pointed at the end. Even by looking one could tell it was well used. "Until I can find the good nail clippers I hope that does for you.", she smiled.

Mel smiled. She hoped Athena did find someone nice. She got the idea that Athena was the type of girl who got hit on a lot, and flirted back a bit, but didn't really want any of the guys. When she was handed the file, and Athena explained, Mel smiled again. "Thanks." she said, and started filing them. She could tell it was well used, and wondered what else weres had to do to fit in. She was a bit worried about school. More specifically, getting through the day without shifting or revealing she wasn't human. That was a big fear now. She wasn't sure what would happen, but she suspected either the students, teacher, or a student hunter would...'dispose' of her in whatever way possible.

As in fully harm and hurt you, no he'd never do that on purpose.", she said. Still rubbing Mel's arm. Then she had to stop and mix the mac and cheese in. As she pulled the baked potatoes out.

Melanie nodded. "I'm glad he won't hurt me, bit I'm still creeped out. He stole me from my own neighborhood. And I'm still mad about him turning me without permission, or even warning me." she said. Personally, she saw James as inattentive and clueless. He didn't see how his actions affected her.
