Haruka ducked, barely dodging the attack. Before Cullingblade could recover, she stabbed her with her sai, and aimed a low kick at her ankles.

The Hollow took the attack without flinching, feeling hot blood flow from a small puncture wound. She picked up her feet and leaped over her opponent's follow-up attack. As gravity brought her back down, she slashed with one of the blades on her elbows.

Haruka blasted Cullingblade with an air attack, slowing her enemy's attack enough to block. She then stabbed fiercely at Cullingblade's side.

Growling with rage, the Hollow felt steel bite into her flesh once again. She used her own blood to catalyze her spiritual pressure, and fired a Gran Rey Cero.

Haruka groaned as the energy blast hit her full on. She fell to the ground, gasping. It took her a few moments to recover. Once she did, all she could manage was a weak jab.

Haruka dodged the kick easily, grabbing hold of Cullingblade's leg in the process and throwing her from the arena. Using her wind abilities, she caught her opponents falling form in a whirlwind, sending her slamming through a nearby wall. A section of the wall collapsed around her now defeated enemy.
Haruka sighed heavily. It had been close, but she had managed to come out on top. Just one more opponent to go before she could face the Demon King himself.

Several days later, Mariko found herself gazing at the arena one last time. The finals should be starting any minute, but she would not be a part of them. Just yesterday she had refused her rights to proceed to the finals. She had only been there because that strange human had stepped out for her sake after all.
With her defeat hanging over her head there was no way for her to continue.
Mariko also found that her opinions on the humans had change. When she entered this tournament, her goal had been to defeat the King and use her power to conquer them. She had grown up thinking the absolute worse of all humans, despising them as much as she thought they must despise her type.
Yet, that human - Ichiro, was it? - showed her mercy and kindness. It was confusing.
In the last few days, it was all she could think about. She puzzled and mused over one question: if they're so terrible, why would even one of them consider her?
In the end, she decided that she would have to find the answer elsewhere. This tournament no longer concerned her. Maybe she'd return someday. Maybe...
With a small smile, she turned and walked briskly away.

Ichiro heaved a heavy sigh, unhappy to have been forced back into the ring. Daisuke was still grievously injured, and Klara was tending to him. Gabriele was still at full strength, but her scores were not high enough to warrant a return to battle.
