Sam giggled a little as his tail swayed happily and looked at Clark and smiled, glad that Clark was playing with him. Other kids bully him and Max didn't play anymore, so it made him feel happy and warm inside that he had someone to play with again. Sam went to jump out of the way again then his eyes widened and he meowed, it was easy to hear that it was a sound of pain, as Clark grabbed his delicate and sensitive tail.

Clark's eyes widened at Sam's reaction. It wasn't a meow of pleasure, but one of pain. He let go of the tail, eyes sill wide and backed away from him.
"I-I..."he stared down at his hand, he hated that he was so violent, he didn't care about hurting scumbags, but hurting someone he loved, he wouldn't dare try.

Sam gently held onto and rubbed his tail as he tried not to cry, but a few tears had slipped out anyway. The boy then looked at Clark and could see that he didn't mean it. The boy walked closer to him then nuzzled his head under Clark's chin to tell him that it was okay.

Clark eyes grew wider as he saw the tears fall from Sam's eyes. He actually made him cry? Well, if he didn't feel like crap before, he felt like utter scum now.
Then, as Sam nuzzled his chin, he wanted to pat him on the back do something, but he didn't want to hurt him again, he began to tremble slightly under the weight of the anger at himself.

Sam looked up at him and nuzzled agaisnt him again, as he felt Clark tremble he wrapped his arms around the male and wished that he could talk to tell him that it was okay and that he loved Clark, but as hard as he tried he couldn't bring him self to speak any words.

Clark stood there, still trembling. He felt Sam wrap his arms around him, all he could bare himself to do was lay his head on the other male's shoulder. He couldn't risk hugging him back, in the fear that he may crush him in the process.
"I'm sorry..." he whispered to himself.

Sam hugged him tighter as he nuzzled against Clark more, he then looked up at him and smiled a little as he gently kissed his cheek and smiled softly. his tail swaying gently.

Clark pulled away from the embrace quickly, but reluctantly. He walked back to the tree and sat at the base of the trunk, he then began to stare up at the night sky, musing and silent.

Sam felt a twinge of hurt as Clark pulled away from the hug then sat down by the tree. Sam looked at him for a moment before slowly walking over and sitting next to him.

"Ya know, the night really is beautiful." he said in a monochromatic tone. He felt a little lifeless right now. He had never felt this way when he had caused hurt before, but when he had only caused that tiny bit of hurt, he felt almost like he had punched himself in the stomach then kicked himself in the groin.

Clark looked at Sam leaning on his shoulder. He began to shake again, he wanted to put his arm around him and pull him close. Maybe even have another make out session, but he just couldn't bring himself to do it.
"You seem sleepy. Do you need me to take you back?" he asked the neko.

Sam could feel Clark shake a little and it made his ears fall back as he nuzzled agaisnt him more. Sam the looked up at Clark and shook his head no gently, he wanted to stay with Clark.
