Niyx paused a half step in her more or less walk of shame. If you could call the slow trot the candidate or possibly ex-candidate was taking. The candidate master really should have worded his orders slightly better. There were after all more then one latrines and it wouldn't hurt if she happened to loop behind the stands on her way to them. After all she was still technically following orders.
Keeping to the shadows she leaned around one of the doors just enough to glance out through the mass of crowd as she passed by. A silver? It seemed all the other hatchlings had found theirs, but this one still sat and cried. . .no not cried more like screamed shouted and demanded. Glancing to make sure the candidate master was still on the sands and hopefully not looking at some backdoor for an already shamed girl she shifted slightly to get a better view ready to move along should anyone spot her taking advantage of her loophole.

"They are rare, but it could." At that point the silver started calling out. Solath, be kind and wait. That could of been you instead of him. Shards, where was the Silvers. He was starting to look weaker. He didn't want the hatching to end on a sad note.

"What is it they say? Those without roofs can't be choosy when Thread falls?" Lena said wryly, a little concerned when the silver's gaze continued to sweep the audience and he didn't seem to be finding what he was looking for. He was calling but...was anyone hearing him, beyond the audible racket? She peered to one side and the other, knowing it was futile to try and see Impression in a crowd this large, but trying nonetheless.

65+ Niyx is spotted cheating her punishment - 45, not spotted The Silver continued to call and cry and even went so far as to step down from his throne and toddle a few steps towards the Stands, eyes whirling a brilliant orange with flashes of white. Where was His!? His sheer distress carried him closer to his mother but he stumbled and fell as his strength failed him. Calling out in a miserable sound, he cast his glance over the Audience one last time. And went suddenly, completely silent. His head had stopped swaying, his tail had curled around him and he was staring intently into the Stands with a gaze somewhere between a predator having spotted prey and adoration. Hekatemine! Why, praytell, are youthere? I demand you come see to your Devith for he hungers and all gazes shall be upon us, Mine. He shouted at her, the imperious, arrogant tone plain as day even minutes out of the shell.

"Looks like he found something...someone," Lena corrected herself, trying and failing to follow the silver's gaze and identify the person in question right away. "They'd better run though - even a silver's stamina can't hold for that long this young." And the run from the Stands...yes, that would be interesting. They'd soon know who he'd chosen?
"So, lunch and then the lake and then congratulating Roeline tonight?" she prompted S'ren and E'lai, fidgeting in her seat. They hadn't been dismissed quite yet, but if they slipped off now they'd get out faster... Though gossiping on the way out wouldn't be a bad idea either. There was quite a lot of material to talk about...

Yes, Stands Impression indeed. Cetalese thought the girl looked familiar, one of the girls who worked as a drudge in the kitchen or Lower Weyr, and applauded for her. It was rare to Impress without being a Candidate, so it deserved some acknowledgement.
Good for her, Cetalese thought warmly.
Halith snorted. Her Silver will be a handful. We are much better off. Are we done with this now, Cetalesemine? The hatchlings are cute, but the Hatching is over now and we can go do something else before we lose daylight completely. You promised we would. We can invite Plexith and Velath as well, if they is not busy!
Cetalese looked over her shoulder in Halith's direction and smiled, giving a small shake of her head. Yes, Halith. I will try to make it out of the throngs of people, and then we can take an adventure. No bugling! She warned as she saw Halith lift her head. Brakiath was on both of their minds as Halith's eyes whirled with apology and she instead made her shouts private and mental only.
Velath! Plexith! Over here! You are not busy now. Let's go for a trip! Cetalesemine promised we could and you have nothing else to be doing. Let's go!

S'kiro looked around, trying to figure out who...where the Silver was looking. He had a deep feeling that it was someone in the Stands, but where? His gaze caught sight of a girl, one of the drudges. Could it be...Yes, Mine. She is His. A Stands Impression, the third one he had seen. At least the little one found His.

Wait What?! It WAS a Stands Impression but to whom?! Dizzian let the breath she'd been holding out as the silver calmed, choosing his. At least he wouldn't Between. Finally she noticed the tell tale look of Impression on a young woman's face. Dizzian's shock was doubled. She was a drudge?! How in the world did she find THAT much luck? Going from the bottom rung of the weyr, below even the candidates, to the top in one instant! She was lucky she'd even shown up. Dizzian internally fought against the ingrained prejudice that drudges were servants only. No. If anyone deserved to Impress it was someone who'd worked hard! Yes that was the way to look at it. This young woman must have done something. Dizzian still couldn't quite believe it though.
...............................................
Ailin looked around as the last dragonet Impressed. Were they allowed to go now? He was rather anxious to get off the Sands and be by himself for some time. Whether he knew it or not he needed to get over the death of the young boy beside him and his own unnoticed disappointment at not Impressing.

"Sounds about right," S'ren agreed. The silver's growing distress was beginning to worry him a bit though... Would he actually be able to find His in such a large crowd?
It would seem the answer to that was 'yes', for eventually the young silver froze and stared down someone in the Stands. 'Who' though he could hardly even begin to tell. "'Lunch'? Don't you mean breakfast? It's still rather early yet." Not to mention the fact that he still had yet to eat anything today, so any meal he had would be 'breakfast' for him. And Ruby, though she may have grabbed herself a grub or two while he was gone. "But yes, food does sound like a rather good idea. Shall we?" Preferably they should try to grab some before the kitchens were stuffed full of hungry people also trying to grab their first meal of the day.

Because I wasn't invite to join the party, but I certainly don't mind crashing it. Hekate replied a slow mischievous grin stretching over her lips as she picked up into a run through the crowd slipping through the masses until she reached the stands barrier.
Picking up speed the girl leaped her hand clasping the edge of the wall as she flipped over it in a flash of color and skirts as easily as if she'd been jumping fences to avoid guard whers.
Landing on the sand Hekate mimicked the dragons predatory crouch as she rose amber eyes flashing as she moved with a suave and very threatening grace keeping her pace at a fast run to come to a halt my her dragon's side.
Her Dragon.
Flashyentrance. . .I approve. Now come Mine! I hunger! The silver all, but roared in his rider's mind as Hekate lay her hand on the silvers neck allowing the dragon to lean into her for support without losing is pride.
Giving the stands and candidates a sweeping look Hekate flashed them a dark winning smile, Devith all, but smirking along as the two walked off the sand heads held high.
Once out of sight though all business turned to feeding.
Mine I demand goodmeat. That slab there. Get it for me! Devith barked drawing a laugh from Hekate, but she did as asked snatching the meat up and taking her place among the others allowing Devith to lounge in style as she fed him the best cuts she could get her hands on leveling a solid glare at anyone along with her dragon who dared to give them less.

"He reminded me of one of my brothers," Akaya said, coughing lightly into her hand to try to mask the last of her chuckles. "Very much the human preening sort. More concerned with his clothing than most of the women I knew." It was amazing to her that he'd even bothered choosing to stay a Beastcrafter, given a bit of mess was inherent in the process. He did aspire to manage rather than be too involved in the details; perhaps the silver meant to do the same. "I'm glad he found His though." Even if both woman and dragon sauntering off together looked like nothing but trouble...

Nope, the crimson hadn't made an Impression with that first girl, instead she seemed to shift her attention to another. A black was the next to hatch and was soon paired with another female. Huh, it seemed that there was a lot of female Impressions at this hatching. Not that she had seen any others.
Aislin was drawn back to the eggs as another whack against an egg caught her attention. Another crimson pushed her way from the shell, making as much noise as the black had. The girl couldn't help but grin slightly at the sight. She seemed so happy to just be out of her shell. Watching the hatchling make her way towards the boys, she couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed.
However, after a moment of rest and what seemed like hesitation, the crimson changed direction and headed towards the girls. Before she could make it, she stumbled and sat back down. And then she started to cry out. A sound that had the girl's heart in her throat. The hatchling wasn't going to between was it? She really hoped not.
And then the crying stopped. Did she find her partner? Aislin craned her head slightly to get a better look. That was when a presence suddenly entered her mind, clumsy at first until it seemed to settle in.
Aislinmine! It couldn't be. You are so far away! Your Loveth is so tired and hungry! Aislin couldn't help the look of surprise that was surely written all over her face. It took Loveth's next cry to shake her out of it, which had her hurrying to the crimson's side. "Of course! You did so well! Let's get you fed." Scooping her new companion into her arms, Aislin slowly stood up and started towards the feeding tables. For being a Harper, she managed to only stumble a few times with Loveth's weight.
After gently setting the crimson down, she quickly set about to feeding the tired hatchling. Between mouthfuls, Loveth slipped in close to hers and Aislin couldn't help but stroke the hide still caught in the wonder of it all.

Echlerov had only been vaguely aware of the events going on, from the hatching going between, to the empty egg, to the large amount of atypicals, being more concerned with feeding his blue. The clutch seemed healthy though, judging from the ones who were coming over to eat, and it was looking like Magith was going to end up being one of the smallest of the clutch.
I might be small, but I am smarter.
He chuckled. "Yes, you are. Do you need more meat?"
The blue thought for a moment. No, I am full. I am tired though.
"You can rest soon." He caressed the hatchlings head, looking over the rest of the group. There were more females than males who had impressed, though it didn't really matter, and he couldn't help but think that he had gotten the best one.
I am the best one.

Hekate was most certainly the odd girl out amongst the candidates her richly colored clothes standing out at the table alongside the white of the other's candidate robes.
And there were so many of them though she had no doubts that there would be mutterings about a drudge impressing a silver of all colors! A scowl played along Hekate's lips as she caught a few disapproving stares from her former fellow drudges whom now worked to bring her and her Devith food.
Pay them nomind. Came Devith's voice cutting through her mind like a flashing knife even as he stuffed his face in each offered piece of food she put before him only pausing briefly to lick his bloody maw. Likely a frightening sight to those whom were attending to the demanding silver.
We, Mine, Are that of which Legends are made of. The dusky silver assured her in a low rumbling croon as Hekate reached out running her hands over his hide with a dark smile. Devith's voice for all it's power echoed equally with love, a rather demanding possesses and egotistical love, but love nonetheless as the hatchling's eyes whirled a rich blue and green the meat Hekate carefully picked for him helping to ease his hunger.
"Of course and the Harpers will sing our praise Devith." Hekate whispered to her lifemate her amber gold eyes bright with love and pride. Running her fingers over Devith's eye ridges the silver crooned leaning into his rider, his weight heavy against her in his exhaustion and sleep courting him hard against his will.
It would though not due to appear ungainly before his subjects.
Asthey should. He replied with a derisive snort as if the fact that harpers might consider singing of anything else was a thought far beyond foolish. He was after all clearly superior to any other dragon.

"Ah, I see," S'koi replied, amused. "I imagine he and that silver might have gotten along swimmingly then. That or started competing over who stood out the most, perhaps." The greenrider didn't particularly have any tendencies towards such shows of vanity himself. As it was, the majority of people still likely thought him very much female. No, it was best to stay under the radar and simply observe.
Of course, with the last of the eggs hatched now, it didn't seem there was much left to observe here. "Shall we be going?" Their day was only just starting after all.
