As the island fell, he found himself pretty much wondering if this was what it felt like to fly, and if so, how sad he was at the fact that he could never do this again. Of course, the fact that the Four Clan islands had been destroyed caused him to wonder - for the first time since they appeared on the island - what exactly the hunters were capable of; those islands were, after all, home and possibly headquarters to the Horsemen, the supposed harbingers of the 'apocalypse' to the human world... Ironic how the Horsemen faced an apocalypse first, brought on by the hunters.
It was a pity though; he rather enjoyed the Island of Death.
"Xiu-" He barely greeted her before his familiar cut in, extending out to give the ghoul an affectionate nuzzle on her cheek; while they had only met once, Biskoto just simply had enough love for everyone. Besides, she had been so sweet to her during their first meeting that the snake couldn't help but feel both glad and relieved to see the Baku alive and well.
Sure, there was a giant angry grey phoenix flying above them, but at least Xiu was fine now! That was all that mattered at the moment!
"Do you know what it is made of?" He looked up, watching with mild interest as the mermaid launched an attack at the flying beast, "I've never seen anything quite like it before."

His mind was drifting. One moment the punk boil was tuning his guitar just because he had thrown it (it did some serious damage to his tuning, okay?) the next he felt so lonely that he wanted to cry. Surrounded by people, Roch was alone. He looked around, his eyes catching on the statue of Riley with Shehk. She'd left them. It wasn't her fault, he knew, but she'd left them.
He had sworn he would play for her again, he thought. So, feeling lonesome and completely NOT focusing, especially since they were all going to die from phoenix fury at any moment, Roch started playing one last song. Riley's song.
Which didn't convey his sack of sad NEARLY well enough, if you asked him.

Rin felt helpless right now, she was stuck looking at her shoes quietly as she continued to struggle to catch her breath. ******** rotting corpses. They aren't allowed to actually scare or hurt her. Her hands tugged into tightly wound fists about Byr's handle.
It was a comforting thought he had her back and as the blue of her fingers finally disappeared she struggled to stand again.
It's true her skin was still oddly grey, but that wasn't about to stop her from trying to return to Reps side. She was okay, really. She was going to pull through this and she was going to do it while having his back. Even with Byr having a conniption in the back of her thoughts.

When the island started to fall, she got that 'falling in a dream' feeling in her stomach, except that this was a hundred times more uncomfortable as there was no way to 'wake up' from it. When the island finally stopped falling, she was surprised to find herself still anchored to the ground, weapon clutched so tightly that even through her gloves, worn to protect her hands from the burn of her weapon's chains, there were probably bruises forming on her palm.
The next thing that caught her attention was someone yelling 'Boss'; it could have been for Jordan - that guy was truly deserving of such a title, unlike her - except that she recognized that voice. She recognized that pitch, that way he yelled it.
She grew anxious for a second, whipping her head around towards the direction the voice had came from- And then she saw him. Before. Months ago, she would have ran towards him, give him a smack on his back, toss an "encouraging" phrase at him (Grow some balls already); however, this was not months ago. He hated her guts, probably, and calling her 'Boss'... Well, it was probably an accident.
She looked at the two for a little while, trying to be subtle, looking nonchalant. Like looking their way was a complete accident... But there was no hiding that look of mild concern she had for her companions, even if it lasted only for a few seconds before she concentrated on the giant grey bird... And tried to nail it with her balls by tossing her great balls.
Except she missed despite the huge target.

He had found Candace at exactly the wrong time.
For the past few moments Gale had been quietly making his way around the dilapidated island, steering clear of the enraged, Insane phoenix circling above their heads, as well as the Halloween creatures that surrounded them. He could still feel the ache in his chest from his attack, could still feel the unexpected pang of loneliness and grief - and he did not want to acknowledge it. It hurt too much - and he hated that it had suddenly swept upon him so suddenly when he had just managed to get himself out of the endless mindset of rejection.
I had just managed to feel better about myself.
But now was not the time to remember it - now was not the time to think about it. He needed to find the ones on the island that he cared about and make sure they were okay. He had already seen Jordan, and had passed by Bix and Before in their reunion, but Gale had yet to see either Eva or Candace. In fact, he had not seen Candace since their parting at the Amazon Base.
Please let her be okay.
His mind was like an endless loop of memories, thoughts, and feelings, none of which he wanted to be a part of at the current moment. So he kept silent and moved quickly, some part of him desperate for the knowledge that those he cared about were not injured and that they were still alive and still fighting.
But he found Candace too soon. Gale started towards her, a few feet away, his heart filling with relief at the sight of her -
And then he wished he hadn't found her at all.
"...Was his name Stacey?"
Gale stopped dead in his tracks. His thoughts seemed to come to a screeching halt, his heart slamming against his chest unexpectedly hard and fast. Up ahead he could see Candace with her phone, holding it tightly in her hand, and Gale's mind went to his own, somewhere in his pocket.
"Perhaps...but if I were you, I'd worry less about who's dead right now and maybe worry about the ones who are currently alive."
Gale's mind, which had stopped, shot into overdrive now.
"hi, there's a sale going down at the holistics-mart they're selling bag of winds there you interested yea?"
"lol stacey yea totally um anyway u busy this afternoon??"
<< Gale. >>
He did not say a word, did not even respond to Jinhai's voice in his head. Gale took a step back, away from Candace, away from the Halloween creatures she was talking to, and turned without a sound, disappearing back into the crowd of students, hunters and horsemen.

"I'm fine, m'fine," Jerry was still giggling, finding Sammy's empty threats ridiculous. She was vastly outnumbered, even with the creatures snapping at Harrison. "Looks worse than it is," He spat some of the blood out of his mouth, hefting the scarf to his battered nose. Wobbling, he tried to drag himself to his feet, although it was proving difficult.
Let the Fear Shield swallow it. Ignore it. You aren't a normal human.
"But someone seriously... needs to put that zombie down," He glowered through his good lens, expression dark and angry despite the manic grin planted on his face.
