There was a note left on the post near the main elevator to the student dorms. It was a simple note, written in charcoal on a slab of carefully peeled woven bark to form the mockery of parchment:
Quote: Think you've got what it takes to be on par with a War clansmen? Come test your courage, strength, and willpower! Follow the bloodied claws.
Nearby, someone tied a skeletal paw with its claws still on it, curled in such a way to mimic a pointing finger. Now the question is: do you follow it?

Demon_Pachabel Text to Shehk: you could say that --- Shifting off of the hammock, Shun grimaced as he went to take his pants off for the time being so he could bandage up his leg. He also grabbed a nearby cloth to at least clean off some of the blood prior to wrapping it up. As he worked on that, he paused briefly at the mention of the carvings on the wall. Slowly, his gaze moved over towards the Pricolici. He took a moment to think about how much he wanted to say. "It reminded me of something," he said quietly. It was the truth, but he wasn't willing to speak further on it in the open.

Nyyrikki hadn't returned to the dorms right after finding that room. Something about stumbling into an area filled with a bunch of other students went he could barely walk on his own two legs had seemed... weak. So he'd waited until he'd gained some of his strength back and didn't feel like collapsing. He'd also managed to empty his stomach, though he wasn't yet sure if that had made things worse or better.
By the time he was walking among the hammocks, he had a bit of his normal Rikki-confidence back, but he looked tired. He was so sick and tired of being tired all the time. When he spotted Danny and Roch in the same hammock it looked so comfy he couldn't resist. He flopped right into the hammock next to Danny, sprawled all over Roch like a zippery mattress.
"Hi guys," he groaned, though it was muffled by what was either Roch's shoulder, or his a**.

She flashed between smitten smiles and worried frowns a bit too much as the conversation went on, brows furrowing together. "I think I'd be immensely more bothered if it had reminded me of something. I'm not going to ask what it reminded you of, though..." She didn't want to know.
The images on the walls had just been...
Bothersome, she'd say. Yeah, bothersome was a good tame word for how graphic those depictions had been.

Roch grunted at the boil dropping right on top of him, shoving him just enough so he wasn't sprawled all over him. "Giddoff," he muttered. "If I wanted sprawled on, I'd prefer it with someone that isn't flat as a board."
But it almost flipped the hammock over--it DID send it swinging a bit wildly. "Jack, if my bed collapses I'm takin' yours," Roch told Rikki as he grabbed onto the hammock to keep from falling out.

Danny, ever innocent, just curled up next to Roch and said, "Not my fault if it breaks." She was looking at Rikki and smiling though. How they were fitting three people on a hammock was something only Jack knew.

For some reason Alexander was not stopping. Yin was tempted to accidentally spine him or bump into him or drop the phone so he had an excuse to get up and just leave. His mother...Lady Van Rotte had...she talked to Alexander about these sorts of things? Because she knew that he liked him? It was all rather mortifying really. He really, really, needed to stop talking. Or at least, stop talking about that. But the longer he talked the less Yin seemed to be able to find anything to say, his gaze darting between the zomboil, the phone, and anything else he could see and shoulders beginning to hunch. He even tried to edge away but the hammock and gravity simply pushed him right back into Alexander.
It was almost like it did not want him to escape. Alexander was laughing, somehow, about his mother giving him charms when they were visiting his home. After realizing that Alexander liked him. Did that mean...she thought they were...his face was a mask of crimson, unable to even think of all of the implications. Bad enough that this was a mating ritual, even the thought of Alexander's mother thinking that they...that they would...
At least Alexander had set it straight. Of course he would not need them because...his voice was trailing off. Why was his voice trailing off?
After the whispering it was like a shout in his ear. No. Alexander. Do not say that. And he...he wished to be kissed? Yin was mortified at the idea. Why were they even talking about kissing in public? Alexander. Needed. To. Stop. Talking. "Not here," he hissed at him, eyes darting around to see if anyone was watching them. He quite obviously meant not to talk about it here, though he had no idea where there would even be a good place to talk about this.
He now tried a new tactic. He tried shoving the eyephone into Alexander's hands. Give him something else to focus on because obviously talking to him had not gotten through the last time.

Of course Alexander needed to stop talking. He had obviously needed to stop long before he'd even begun. But with that last thing said he had actually stopped, falling into a stony silence, refusing to raise his eyes, refusing to acknowledge the boil sitting next to him even as the hammock pretty much made sure that Yin was practically sitting on top of the zomboil, no matter how much he tried to inch away.
He stared at his hands, stared at the old dried blood and dirt beneath his fingernails, studied them like they were the most interesting things ever. Everything he had just said was burning in the forefront of his mind now, and he was so embarrassed he wanted to just dig himself a nice deep grave and bury himself in it.
Not here.
His gaze slowly rose, his eyebrows raised in question. Not here what? He didn't mean...no, of course he didn't, this was Yin after all.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled, miserably, as his eyephone was suddenly being dropped back in his hands. He didn't really think about it though, not right at first. It took some time staring at it to realize what they had come back to the dorm rooms initially for, and in that time he continued rambling. "I'm not good at this. I'm really really not. I wish I was, but...no. And...you know I'm just happy with things the way they are, right? I don't want...I'm not trying to push you or anything. I'm not...like that.." Yes, he should probably go back to shutting up, and so he did, wishing desperately that Yin would say something so that he could stop feeling like a complete idiot.

(Entering!)
When they left the dorms they had been in mostly good shape. Now as they returned, they were in such a shape that bad seemed to be an understatement. Amrita looked like she was about to pass out at any moment, slouching against Calder, the pair of them using each other as a crutch. Each step drew either a flinch or a hiss of pain from the Vetala, whose limbs had yet to fully recover from the FEAR draining and the near-dissipating death she experienced.
A few steps in and she couldn't keep on her feet anymore, sending her thumping unceremoniously to her knees. When she knew that she wouldn't be able to stay standing she tried to untangle herself from her friend, but she wasn't sure how successful she had been. It was hard to judge when your entire body was on pins-and-needles.
"Calder." She said shortly. "Don't ever do that again." Ever. Never ever. No more going to places that people specifically warn them about. No. Done. Over. "Stupid."

He had fallen with Amrita, and where she stayed on her knees, Calder slid to lay face down on the ground and lay there by the doorway. He could only offer a chuckle at being called stupid, but that hurt his body. "...but it was just getting good." He joked through gritted teeth, even talking sounding painful.
At least the floor was safe and comfortable. Yeah. Good old, safe, floor.

Yin had not even been contemplating that Alexander might be unhappy by the fact that they had not...had not kissed yet. But once the words were out of his bonded's mouth the idea took root. He was...he was failing his bonded. So now, instead of being horribly embarrassed he was now horribly embarrassed as well as utterly miserable. Of course Alexander was not trying to push him, he was so patient with him and what did he get in return? Someone who barely endured being hugged.
He had to do something. Try to fix it somehow as Alexander was clearly not able to function normally at the moment. "And I appreciate that you are not like that Alexander," he managed to whisper as he reached over, inwardly feeling almost nauseous but fighting to outwardly remain calm. Trying not to let his distress show. He had to do better. One clawed hand rested on the zomboil's lower thigh, tightening ever so slightly to squeeze in what Alexander had claimed was meant to be a reassuring manner. He mentally counted all the way six before he pulled his hand away, turning his head to stare at something, anything. Great Mantis why had anyone ever created displays of public affection?
If Alexander was digging graves to be buried in he wanted one.

--- Finished with bandaging his leg, Shun promptly put his pants back on before glancing at Shehk. It seemed she didn't quite recall what Stacey had said, but he wasn't going to say anything on that. Besides, Amrita and Calder had returned. It sounded like they had gone to the place after all. Seeing how they both looked completely exhausted and collapsed... yeah. "...Welcome back."

Or it was simply that Shehk's RPer was thinking with a different character who happened to be a pony.
Still, she seemed bothered on some level when Amrita and Calder returned looking worse for wear, yet trying to not look like she was going to frown in disapproval at them into submission for actually having gone to investigate.
"Nice to see you two back." she greeted, turning her frown at her phone instead.Blade Kuroda Text to Jericho: OMJ, you are so teasing me right now! Stop it!! Or else she'd deteriorate into excited giggles.
