Slipping the weapons tablet into her pocket, Sydney kept flashing the light around, stopping as it caught on something that reflected it. She made a face, certain no one else saw it, and reached into the water hesitantly, pulling out the object.

It was an off white piece of shattered... something. Her fingers ran over the curve, feeling how brittle it was to the touch. She had no clue what it was, but it wasn't a tablet. Well, she'd found one, at least.

Marcus sighed in relief. No death just yet. Still, going down into pits as pictures on the walls provided less than comforting images. Totally awesome. Totally. Checking to make sure yes, the FEAR detector was indeed, 'ON', Marcus asked Dis what he thought.
Now you ask for my thoughts?
Should I not?
Well depending. I could point out the lovely asses of your fellow trainees, or, point out that you've been gets quite close to Cass all mission.

Marcus frowned at this. He had been staying close to Cass. He'd been- ******** he'd been doing what he wanted to avoid. Letting go, he stepped away from her, moving down into the pit and setting himself to focus on the task at hand. It didn't help that the s**t pond was cold as ******** and nasty all over. Still, she looked visibly shaken and a part of him, a large part, wanted to go to her. But if he did that he wasn't=

FOCUS MARCUS.

Dis's voice hissed out at him.
You can tap that a** later, but now, do your job.
Why are you being so helpful as of late?
Because you're not tapping all the a** like you should. You just tap one a**, you should.

Well that explained a bit.

As Marcus breathed the sharp, pungent scent of rotting s**t hit his nose, making him hold back a gag. He didn't see anything, but he sure as all hell smelled something.

What came next- "Cass?" There was worry in his voice, audible concern. Cass did not call out to him like that unless something had really gotten to her. And from her face, something had REALLY gotten to her.
When she said what it was that had he so upset- He paled.
"Cass." Dis was screaming at him to stop trying and focus, but the second Marcus got by Cass again, he was holding her close. ".....I'm right here okay?" Dis was making all sorts of huffing at him. The idea that what they were walking in- what this was. Block it out. Pulling Cass back, she'd know the look on his face. He was swallowing him emotions, burying them.

"You can do this Cass." He gave her a tiny squeeze. "You can do this."

... You have found ONE WEAPON TABLET! -> Add to Bill's PC?

What are these .. Prompto had no clue what was running through Saya's head, having no previous knowledge of the famous series that had traveled a long way up through the multiple game consoles and series of jewelry-named cartridges.

Unfortunately, there was no Bill's PC availible. Two ten-pound tablets was probably nothing for a male trainee or a experienced female one. But for Saya, carrying those around while searching.. They built up on their weight. Icy cold drops from the top of the cave rained down along her path, boots partially submerged in icy water. Saya winced, the clammy feeling traveling up her body. She could still see the light of the flashlight.

Struggling to hold one of the tablet, tucked in her arm like a pile of books, she ran her flashlight along the walls depicting the horsemen language. She was fascinated-- absolutely fascinated by them. Perhaps .. she could copy them down in her notebook, a symbol or a drawing or two. But she wasn't sure if that was appropriate or the time for it. ?_?

History had always been her favorite class.

Rin continued on, slightly more aware of her surroundings now. Enough she noticed something glinting in the water and deftly picked it up.

She held it up to her face. She couldn't tell what it was. What she did know however was that this was not a weapons tablet and she was a failure in finding one.

He heard the clicking noise again, but he ignored it.

Don't think about it.

His feet felt frozen, his hair damp against his forehead, and his head was spinning unpleasantly with the realization of where they were, horrible, decaying, disgusting memories twisting inside of his thoughts, making it difficult to breathe.

This is not the Incident.

But it was too similar.

It's not.

It is.

Click

He looked up hurriedly, pulse racing, blood rushing in his ears as he held Tracey a little bit closer. "The ********?" He snapped abruptly, before listening with complete attention in an attempt to hear it again. He could have /sworn/ it was that ******** clicking again. He could have sworn.

He tried to relax again and get back to looking, but it was so hard when his instincts were all on red alert.

Candace was digging in her bag for her own flashlight, having given Jerry the one Sandy and Barney had provided, when Harrison came up and nudged her. She jumped, chuckling quietly when she realized it was just Harrison. "Hey. You make it through okay? My coat got a little torn but I'll be alright. I've had worse." She linked arms with her friend after that, needing the comfort of contact from someone who wouldn't push her away. Her flashlight was directed at the drawings on the walls at they ventured further and further into the hall. The pictures were definitely foreboding, and she actually felt like these skeletons now as they continued down the hall that would take them to God knows where.

Apparently it took them to a set of stairs into another endless abyss.

Candace was beginning to notice a trend here. No wonder Caelius ditched them.

She let go of Harrison when she heard the sloshing of water, checking her Fear scanner to make sure it was on and ready before venturing in with everyone else. Oh it..it wasn't so bad! But she could feel the water soaking into her shoes, and it was ice cold. Candace hissed, lifting a foot to kick it a little as if that would get the water out. Cold! Cold! Cooooold! She tripped as she did this, hitting the ground with a squeak and a hiss. What the ******** was that?! Candace turned her light to what had tripped her. Oh! Score! She grabbed the tablet thinking it would just be a simple grab, gasping when it turned out to weigh a thousand ******** pounds. "Holy s**t.." She grunted, lifting it with both hands and then putting the damn thing in her supply pack. It would rip through her pocket if she put it in there. Goddamn.

Moving through the shallow water slowly, the trainee began to notice a change in the surface of the ground. Another step in and the ball of his foot was sinking in. Was this? Dillon traced his foot around the depression, but that yielded nothing. Frowning, he carried on and the ground began to even out again. This was hard. Dillon was beginning to regret not packing a bigger torchlight, even if it would only have helped him out a little bit more in the pitch black darkness.

Rep couldn't focus and there was really no way he was going to stick his hands in that water. What if something GRABBED him? It just didn't bear thinking about at all. He tried to look as if he was doing something but all he really seemed to be doing was keeping an eye on the escape route and keeping Tracey well and truly summoned.

He wasn't scared. Really. He was just being cautious.

Dis was huffing at him now, beratting him for ignoring his own rule and breaking down to go to Cass Like he had but-

Dead hunters. We're walking, standing-
They're dead Marcus
. Dis hissed at him. They're dead and you're not. You're here to pick up what they left behind. They died. The dead don't mourn the living. The dead don't care about what people do to their bodies when they have no need for them. The dead don't care what happens to things they leave behind. It's the living that care Marcus. When they were alive they would have cared. dead? Marcus frowned. The dead don't care.

As cold and cruel Dis's words were, Marcus couldn't fight him on it. He was right. He was alive, they were not. They didn't have a reason to care. They had weapons left behind a hunter could use. To carry on. That was it.

He cursed as his boot failed to get a solid grip, footing uneven. While he thankfully didn't fall, he could feel their general shape. Why the tiny craters rather... how?

As per instructions, Wilson pulled out one arm from his weapon to search his scanner for the button and switch it on. He curiously directed his flashlight toward the pictures engraved on the walls, but after a couple moments of observing the ominous illustrations he decided to turn his light away from it. They began to descend a narrow set of stairs until he heard the sound of splashing up ahead. He craned his neck to look at Sandy until his own feet began to slosh around the water as well. Wilson shuddered at the sudden cold, but forced himself to keep moving. The trainee kept his flashlight close toward the walls or into the murky waters, trying to find a tablet. He briefly paused as he could have sworn he heard the clicking sound again, but discarded the thought and kept searching.

God. That ******** clicking nose was creepy. Unironically, Clerse clutched Sasha's hand as they progressed, using the flashlight with her other hand. The FEAR scanner beeped on her wrist as she turned it on. Woops, probably shoulda done that sooner.

These illustrations were ******** creepy.

Her legs slipped into the ice water, and it felt like being amputated below her knee. ******** freeeeziinggg. Letting go of Sasha, Clerise dug around in the muddy water, and after some time, her fingers closed around a tablet.

"Got one," she called to the lady large and in charge, placing it into one of her coat's deep pockets.

Man, the quarter master was going to be so ******** mad at her for this.

Checking his Fear meter periodically for signs of a weapons tablet, Dillon was starting to get frustrated as the readings never did seem to change. He was also pretty darned sure it was switched on and working... was it?

Can't you sense for something?
<< ... >>

The trainee waited for an answer but didn't get one. Was she stumped too?

Something here smells. The next breath he took stung his nose. Grimacing and covering his face with his scarf, Dillon pointed his torchlight at the area where it was coming from. More darkness. Tracing the water with the torchlight, the mist trainee still could find nothing.

Bad luck.

Dead bodies in general bothered Cass, so realizing she was wading through what was potentially liquified corpses? Disgusting and infinitely more bothersome than just...the dead being gathered or dead animals. She'd been disturbing bones, they were trying to retrieve the weapons of dead hunters.

She just...

She actually flat-out hyperventilated against Marcus. The fact there weren't Horsemen there anymore no longer bothered her. Still, she knew too well that she needed to stand on her own even before he pulled away from her to get back to work.

"Okay..I'm just...I'm going to get back to work, Marcus....I...." she choked down another disturbed noise, but pulled away. "Good luck finding something...." she whispered. If she loomed near him, she'd probably distract his searching, she'd just try to see if she could retrieve something, some weapon.

Maybe.

Scanner? On.
Flashlight? Flicking around from place to place as he looked about rather methodically as his boots sloshed a bit as he moved through the muddy waters. Suddenly he was glad he made a footgear change as much as he disliked close-toed shoes he was starting to appreciate them more and more as each mission came and went.

Wait he caught a glint of something. He went to pick it up and found a dull yellow-white curved object. It seemed kind of brittle. Was it some sort of bone?

He made a face at the thought wondering if he should pocket it for analysis or if it was completely useless.
