Coraline looks at the paint buckets. "I'll help. But where exactly are we going to paint the sign?" Coraline thinks, they cant paint on the side of the building. Maybe the windows or the front door on the outside.

((I know my character can't read minds, but you made a good point. So I'll just have Xavier bring up that idea razz )) Xavier thinks for a moment. "Hey, I never realized. We can paint on the windows. Like, one word for each window. I haven't checked the other apartments though. We need to be very, very careful!" he warned Coraline. "There were giant brushes in the maintenance closet, so just grab one. I'll paint the word 'alive' on the first 5 windows, and you paint 'here' on the last 4 windows, ok? Just watch yourself when you're entering the other apartments." He explained.
Xavier then exited the room, and went on his way to begin painting giant letters on the apartment windows, all of which seemed, for the moment, abandoned...

With some hesitation, Natalie retrieved the .45 tucked into the waistband of her skirt. She flipped the safety off and aimed at the ground, giving herself a mental pep talk even as chaos broke out around her.
Hands steady, she reminded herself. Somehow, she heard the words in Max's voice, back when he first taught her how to shoot. Don't lock your elbow. Don't anticipate the recoil, or you'll jerk and miss the shot. Why hadn't she grabbed the .22 or the .38? The metal felt heavy, bulky, and cool in her hands, doing little to buck up her spirits. It didn't help that there was a psychic next to her, sending shards of glass into zombies with nothing but her mind. If Natalie hadn't already felt weak in the company of the wonderful St. James brothers, she certainly did now.
Two months ago, you could only work a camera and colored pencils, she scolded herself. And, okay, for some reason she was still more comfortable in a skirt than a pair of jeans, but at least she wasn't wearing wedged heeled sandals. Now that had been an awful fashion choice when the outbreak first began. She was learning, right?
"Jasmine," she said, her voice hushed but firm, wanting to get the other woman's attention without spooking her. "There's a door opening. Do you see it? Make a run for it, and I'll follow a few steps behind and cover you. I have a homemade silencer, but it's good for only one shot, so the noise is gonna draw us a crowd."{{Sorry! Monday is the longest day of the week for me. In the future, if I'm not around for a few posts in a row, feel free to have Natalie just follow or separate them. Also, messing with my post style to try to make it easier for y'all to read.}}

Verra shook his head, sneering at Blondie (as he'd now officially dubbed her in his head. The whole group was terribly creative at coming up with names.) "Well-ssspoken and sssmart are two entirely different thingsss, mademoissselle. I wouldn't be ssso quick to judge me, essspecially sssince you know nothing about my ssspecies."
His head snaked around to fix Tora with a glassy stare that could have been attempting to show just about any emotion. "Tora, sssweetheart, hunger cures grouchinessss. What sssay we force-feed our new friend here?" He nodded towards Blondie, smirking as he was wont to do.
"Joking -- or casual business plans, as it were -- aside, I'm ******** ssstarving. And I really don't think I need to get much ssskinnier, do you?" Though his tone was light, teasing, as always, Verra watched carefully for any sort of reaction from Blondie, to see if she had looked over at his words at all. It was generally accepted that advertising your weakness was a grade-A really goddamn horrible idea, especially if the situation was one that called for survival of the fittest.
However, Verra wasn't unfit. In fact, when running away wasn't an option, he could be just as deadly as most, and more so than many. He'd proved that with the many humans he'd sliced open in his time before the outbreak.
He just didn't need his new human pals knowing that.
Look at me, love me, don't feel the least bit threatened by me, welcome me into your care and never suspect a thing, my dears...

"Hey! I remember the arrows pointing to a corner around here some where!" Desirae yelled looking back while trying to keep pace. "Up there! Take a hard left!" she ordered."You got it!" Tina replied and slid to slow down almost losing her balance but caught herself and shot off to the left. "Oops, that would have been bad!" she said to Kary as she laughed it off and..."Oh great! Hey, sis. Its a dead end!" she exclaimed kicking the wall. "You can't be serious!" Desirae complained with Ventes on her heels. Arachne had scurried and jumped to block them in. "Running up the building would take too long, we'd just smacked down." Desirae commented setting down Saya.(( sweatdrop I'm going to call her Saya for the moment, sorry.)) Setting down Kary, Tina got her axe ready. "The head right?" she asked ready to strike, but Arachne was already on the offensive with a mighty swing of her right arm/blade. Tina, quickly flipped her axe to the side like a paddle and caught the attack in her axe blade. "Not good!" she grunted; "What I would give to be saved by Aunt Elle right now." she mentioned The sound of rapid clicking was heard on the roof tops as a woman with a calm demeanor, high heeled boots and a decent sized bow, ran from roof too roof until she came upon, Arachne. As soon as she noticed the beast she flipped into the air and spun while upside down. In that brief moment she managed to fire three of her special arrows into the beasts back. "I can't believe you managed to get cornered. Has my training been for naught?" asked herself as the arrows exploded. "Oh no way! I knew I saw something that moved like aunt Elle!" Desirae shouted in excitement as the beast, however, shrieked in pain and withdrew her arm. "Now's our chance! You ready Mr. Hero?" she asked Ventes "Tina, toss me into the air!" she commanded as she jumped up.Tina, had slid under her with her hands at the far butt end of the axe. Desirae landed on it and she swung hard, sending her sister flying high above Arachne.

Ventes AllaratusxxxxxVentes smiled when she said it was his chance. He was about to take off running, but he got a really good idea, or at least, it seemed so at the time. He sheathed his sword and closed his eyes. He focused on compressing a large amount of air behind him, and as he did, a weak gust of wind was heading to him from all directions. Ventes opened his eyes and jumped into the air. Once he at just the right spot, he released the compressed air, and shot off like he was shot from a cannon. As he was flying towards the spider he curled up his fingers and thrust his palm down towards it, sending large waves of pressurized air to smash it. Ventes slapped his hand together and held them close to his chest and pretty much stopped moving, using extremely fast moving wind as a hard surface. He made finger guns and started "firing". None of his attacks were too effective due to its large body and thick hide. Frustrated, Ventes stood up and jumped off his airy plat form and almost made it to the roof, but was barely short. As he fell he was only a couple inches away from the wall. He put his hand near the wall, and it was sucked on. He then placed his feet on the wall and slowly come to a stop. ventes put his left hand on the wall and drew his sword with his right hand. He winced a little, because now his hand hurt from sliding on the building, but it was nothing that a little bandage couldn't fix.

After Xavier said the instructions and exit the room, Coraline took a paint brush and took her axe. She walked down the hall to count where Xavier was going to paint and then her. Then she checks the rooms making sure there safe. Then she goes to the first room and starts to paint, keeping her axe at close hand.

Sydelle WestYou're not a hero, you're a liar...
"Yes, I'm sure your species is the grandest is the universe." Sydelle said sarcastically as they moved toward their dinner. "However, since I am not one of your kind, I can't say I care all that much about it." Grr followed behind. He only understood that the smaller beings in front of him were having some form of angry discussion. But, being of little intelligence, he kept to himself.
...you're not a savior, you're a vampire.

Icarius looked at the buckets with some curiousity, but the thing that really surprised him was that humans still manually applied paint. And with what seemed to be brushes made from hair. Now that was primitive. He picked up one of the brushes and ran his finger over top of it. He smiled slightly before he said, "I'll help you paint the five windows. The lettering should be clear to the others, so when we lay down the letters on the windows they should be backwards to us," he said with certainty, having the spacial capacity to see that if they painted the letters from the inside, they would look different on the outside.
As Xavier mentioned that the rooms may not be vacant, Icarius donned his helmet once more and made sure his gun was ready and loaded. "We shouldn't make much noise then, no need to get killed while making a message," his speaker-like voice said warily.
He took a bucket of paint, and though surprised at its weight, he found it easy enough to carry with hsi gun in his other hand. He watched Xavier's back as they walked upstairs to a high enough floor so that they could paint. Coraline had gotten there before them and Icarius could hear the soft sounds of a brush on glass. It was a foreign sound to him, but easy enough to get used to and recognize as they passed her doorway.

Jasmine Langdon Jasmine looks over to Natalie, nodding. Tho some of the zombies began getting too close for comfort, but to where she's scared enough, the worry about getting eaten by one. She wonders why they're gathered in the parking lot, too. All of a sudden, a zombie within her 30 foot radius spew green blood, shooting from the corpse, it's limbs ripped part from it's torso, and thrown around. She frowns as that happens. Oh no.. That could attract more, couldn't it? She looks at the rest. their attention seeming to turn towards them."Natalie,"She replies, "If you shoot, I can make a few cars around us crush the others and we can run, making it easier for us to run, and run fast."She quickly checks herself, for no straying clothing. Nope, the only thing would be her hair. She gathers it up, putting it into a pony tail, making easier to handle. Waiting for the signal. She feels Natalie is nervous about the gun, sighing, humans can be such a pain without the certaintiy. So she calls back over her shoulder, "You can do it, Natalie.. Just hurry with it, too!"[[Alice; sorry I didn't respond last night. Storm was making my internet whack.]]

✘✘Dr. Howard✘✘ You can trust me.. Alice looked up and chuckled, "You know, tribals would eat the heart of their victoms in order to gain their powers." He looked over at the telepath, What a wonderful idea she had. Of course she had been joking but he took it seriously. Though how would he be able to get close enough to her without her using telekinesis on them. "Evelyn, do you have your equipment?" She patted at the pouch them hung by her side. "As always." Howard grinned, they might actually be able to pull this off. ..I'm a doctor.

Saiyaku had been rescued just at the last moment; but in being snatched up, her mother's brittle wrist had snapped off and was then held by Saiyaku. "Moooooooom!!!" All Saiyaku could do was cry about her mom being left there to be raped and killed by the gangsters, but she soon realised that they weren't after her mom. She continued crying until she saw the giant spider creature chasing them, and then clung to Desirae until she was set down.
"I can't believe that we left my mom behind... How can you be so mean to my mom, who's never been mean to anybody?" She was still physically holding on to her mother's hand in her free hand, but in her mind, it was free. She had no clue she was holding on to it. Her complaints were quickly cut off when the girls went into action against the creature that had been chasing them. All she could do was watch, not knowing what to do at all.

Taking Icarius's advice, Xavier painted the letters on the first five windows, making sure to paint them backwards so they would be visible to any survivors. Setting the paintbrush down, Xavier admired his work. He hadn't rushed it. He wanted to make sure the letters were thick and very clear. Easy to spot. With a sigh, he let the brush drop out of his hand and fall softly to the floor. Not point being clean in this day and age. The world had already gone to hell.
Xavier headed back into the main room, and instead of taking his normal post by the window, he sat down in an armchair, on the opposite side of the room, waiting for Icarius and Coraline to return.
He was deep in his own thoughts. So many things racing through his head. Spacemen from the future, zombies, all those people gone...
No. Xavier scolded in his own mind. He wouldn't let the thoughts return. He had to remain strong. Not only for his own survival, but now for those who had come into contact with him. He couldn't give up. He couldn't give in...

Jasmine Langdon As soon as she hears the shot ring out, sticking one Zombie in the head. as if cue, 2 cars rise off the ground. She flings her hand out and the cars knock the remaining Zombies down."Come on, let's move!" She calls to Natalie as she runs over to the main building. She can't believe it worked! Her heart is pumping with adrenaline as she see's the Nurse and Doctor, "Hey!" She calls, grinning, there was survivors in the building! But, would they lend them some supplies? Or would they turn them away? The zombies in the parking lot seem restless. Whatever that was there, is gone now as they scout for another food source.

Coraline took a step back looking at the paint. She wipes her forehead then sets down the paint brush. She looks at her hands, full of green paint. It really dosent matter if she gets dirty as long the work is done. Coraline picked up her axe with the bucket and brush and starts to walk back to the room. As she gets into the room she sets to bucket on the kitchen counter and her axe. She sits on the counter looking at Xavier "you finished faster than I thought you would."
