Lis had already started away but as Kalay spoke she paused in her step.
”….you have too much faith in me sometimes.” She said softly, apparently in reply to his first comment about her having no trouble finding him. She glanced over her shoulder as she heard him sit up, sending Carbuncle tumbling off him which drew a faint smile from her lips. The revelation about the gf’s gender caused her eyes to widen slightly in surprise. ”He’s a…she? I-I never could have…Kalay, that is a mean trick.” She chided, but she was still smiling a little. She’d had so much bad news tonight that this seemed kind of harmless, which mildly amused her. To further her surprise Kalay got up and came to stand by her, looking as relaxed as always. Carbuncle had wandered over and was nudging her leg so, as Kalay had suggested, Lis knelt down and picked her up, cuddling the gf gently in her arms whilst still managing to hold her shoes.

Kalay spoke again and Lis glanced up at him.
”Ah…thank you…I’d like that.” She said quietly, nodding. She hadn’t wanted to ask him to walk her back since he and Carbuncle seemed so at peace, but since he’d offered she figured it would be bad manners to refuse. And knowing him, he would stubbornly refuse her refusal anyways, so it was just easier to accept his gesture. He was kind of strange like that…but she liked that about him. The white haired girl fell into step beside him as they made their way across the field. ”It’s yours too.” She said, taking note of his little joke with a faint chuckle. She went silent after that though, staring ahead into the dark grass as she walked as if lost in her thoughts and stroking Carbuncle’s ears gently.

They saw no one in the garden as they made their way to the dorm area so it was unusually quiet. When they finally reached Lisanna’s room she carefully put Carbuncle down and opened her door. She hadn’t locked it since she didn’t want to be bothered with carrying her keys tonight. Besides, she didn’t have anything of value worth robbing…and she didn’t believe any student or teacher here would do a thing like that anyways. As she pushed it all the way open a thought came to her.
”Ah…since you’re here you can help me with something, if you don’t mind…?” She said, glancing at Kalay in a questioning manner before stepping inside, leaving him to enter and close the door behind him if he chose. She moved over to a table and turned on the lamp that sat on it, filling the darkened room with light. Then she turned to face Kalay, biting her lip with a sheepish expression.

”Mmh…I feel a little awkward asking but this dress was a little difficult to get on by myself. The zip is a nightmare, you see. So…uhm, I guess…would you help me…?” She placed her shoes down on the floor and walked slowly back over to him, looking rather nervous. Her hand went up to brush her hair over her shoulder and out of the way, and she turned around to face away from him and waited, taking a shaky breath. Her heart started to beat faster for some reason and suddenly all her cares from the earlier evening seemed to vanish. ”…please?” She was glad he couldn’t see her face as he tugged the zip down because she knew she was blushing, but only for a moment. Once he’d finished she also knew she’d have to face him again. It wasn’t exactly proper for a young lady to ask such a thing and she was keenly aware of how close he was. ”Th-Thanks…” She said quietly, sounding a little embarrassed but grateful. The dress was still held up by the shoulder straps so at least she still had a bit of dignity. She turned around to face him slowly. ”I…I suppose we should say goodnight…” She bit her lip again, watching him intently. Lisanna seemed to be coming to a decision and after a moment she placed a hand gently on his chest and stepped closer.

”Though, uhm…since it may very well be my last night on this earth…I’m not sure I want to spend it alone.” She breathed softly and leaning up a little, almost as if she meant to kiss him...

”Kalay…stay with me?”

Yuka

User Image

Gentle rays of light were peaking through the window blinds in the early morning when and alarm sounded next to the bed of Yuka. There was a string of muttered unhappy sounds, the figure in the bed tumbling out of bed in an attempt to turn off the alarm without leaving the bed, which clearly failed. She hit the ground with a thud, letting out a string of curses before unplugging the alarm clock from the wall with a sigh. Her heterochromatic eyes glared with contempt at the alarm clock as she got herself to her feet, rubbing her head as she looked around at the mess of her room as the nights events unfolded in her mind. She was pretty sure she's drunk far too much for her own good judging by the pounding headache she was feeling in her head, but who could blame her? Everyone had been having fun last night, even more so judging by the sounds she had heard from the hallway on her way to bed in the late hours of the morning. "Oh I can see today is going to be long already."

It was some thirty minutes later than Yuka managed to fix her disheveled room. Clothing had been thrown this way and that way, a memory of her getting ready for the ball, and her dress had been left in the middle of her front room suggesting she hadn't actually had the sense to get out of it in the bedroom and had just dropped it whenever she could to get to sleep. After cleaning her room, it was time for a shower and after that, preparing for the day. She did note the absence of her roommate, which suggested a whole string of things she really didn't feel like thinking about, given her roommate's interests. After forcefully ejecting the thoughts from her mind, Yuka finally managed to leave her room after almost an hour from getting up. By now it was early morning, which meant others would be getting up and stirring as well, however she needed to get somewhere before they were all up and about, which was why she took off at a near sprint down the hall as soon as she was out of her room.

The Garden itself was rather quiet after the long evening given that classes were not in sessions so most could be resting soundly in bed. There would be those whom were not so lucky to be sleeping, namely the new seed. By this point they would need to be getting up and gathering, least the want to miss their ride. This was all of little concern to Yuka though whom knew nothing of the mission. Instead, she was doing what she did every morning which was met by the sound of the PA system suddenly coming to life in the halls and sitting areas. "Good Morning Winhill Garden! It's me Yuka and I'm here to give welcome you to the morning with the news of the Garden and weather. Starting first...."

Riyel "The Silent Flame" Vicaria

Now I think I understand
How this world can overcome a man
Like a friend we saw it through
In the end I gave my life for you
Gave you all I had to give
Found a place for me to rest my head
While I may be hard to find
Heard there's peace just on the other side

Not that I could or that I would
Let it burn under my skin, let it burn

{Current Theme Song: Dear God- Avenged Sevenfold}

He had been up since the sunlight touched the tips of the Garden, his eyes wide open and his senses alert. Honestly, he had gone to bed quite quickly after his own little piece of alone time. It was the only thing he could do. Riyel was pretty sure that no one on his team would desire to hold a conversation or speak their mind to him after the little escapade that had occurred between Salem and himself. Could he honestly blame them? No. He could not Riyel had become a victim of his own actions, as so many others had before him. All he could do was try to wipe away what he had done and attempt to continue on with a clean slate. As soon as the sun had passed the backdrop of the landscape, its light striking upon Riyel's room, he was up. Perhaps it was nerves, as others would certainly have upon the beginning of this...'mission.' Anxiety was something everyone surely felt upon the start of something on the edge...dangerous. Or was it excitement? The pure adrenaline rush that would surely embrace Riyel's senses was something that certain individuals might find elating and a drug, making them seek danger to fulfill their hunger for that feeling. No, it wasn't it either.

As soon as he had fully awoke, he had gotten dressed in gym clothes and went down to the training room, simply to stretch. Last night had left him slightly sore, and thus, he felt the simple need to make sure that he wasn't too stiff...in case anything that involved fight and flight occurred. It was funny, he thought as he sat there and stretched and made sure that nothing felt stiff or ill prepared. Last time, he hadn't done any of this. Last time he did not care. The nerves were all that he felt during the beginning of the mission, during, and even upon the impending explosion. But now, he just felt a sense of preparation. Certainly, fear was there but it wasn't intruding upon the rest of his emotions like last time. What had changed? He only shook his head at the thought. Did it matter? No...what lied ahead was what mattered and that road was thick and twisted, covered in thorns of all sorts.

Of course, after that, he had gotten something to eat, not desiring to face death on an empty stomach. Nothing heavy of course, something light and basic as to provide him with the carbs that he required. So he didn't feel heavy. He had been alone in the cafeteria, except for passing Yuka in the hallways as she went off to do her usual morning wake up call. He sat there and listened in silence, relishing the definitive sound of another individual's voice for that split second. Funny, it might be the last time that he ever listened to Yuka's warbling ever again. Was that a blessing or a curse? Riyel only thought about it with a smile and a laugh, standing as he left the cafeteria to the same spot where they would all meet...the same place where the last mission had started, he presumed. It only took a couple of minutes but he was back at the same spot, this time sitting out in the open rather than off to the side, his Gunblade on his lap as he polished the glistening metal and sharpened its edges, greasing the gun part of the blade.

Riyel was using a spare cloth, himself changed into clothes this time around but rather...the articles were quite different than what he usually wore. Minimalist this time. Now, he wore a simple cut off leather overcoat, plain black with a fluorescent design etched on it, if the trained eye would look upon it. His hair wasn't combed, but rather left the way it was after the shower with all of his earrings taken out and left in the room. The only pieces of jewelry was perhaps a ring and a necklace that was held around his neck. Even the necklace was simple, just a chain and his grandmother's taper earring on it. A blue handkerchief adorned his neck, hiding the back of the chain...perhaps people would notice but he didn't care. Events were occurring about them, everything felt like changing and for once today...Riyel felt like going along with it. Even as he sat there, making sure his weapons, his Gunblade and the two pistols he always had in his room were ready for combat, he came upon the realization of why today felt different than any other time...it wasn't nerves...or fear...or excitement. Riyel Vicaria just wanted to be ready.

I hope it's worth it
Here on the highway, yeah
I know you'll find your own way

The ones who walk beside me, yeah
I hope you'll find your own way
When I'm not with you tonight

"I win~"

With only a few rays of sunlight streaming through the window, the room was rather dark and made it hard to actually see much of anything. In the darkness, Carbuncle was contently curled up against Kalay, being rather smug for whatever reason. She gently got up after a moment of rest and stretched though, clearly in a fine mood before turning her ruby eyes to the head of the bed and sitting. There was a faint mumble before a hand visibly pulled down the covers enough for Carbuncle to see his face, watching Kalay as the young man looked around with what appeared to be moderate confusion. 'What are you even...' Whatever Kalay was thinking back to Carbuncle was cut off as he focused next to him. 'Oh.' This was self explanatory to Carbuncle whom climbed onto Kalay's leg, watching the figure sleeping soundly next to him before looking up at Kalay. Kalay rubbed his eyes sleepily, watching Lisanna sleep quietly next to him.

It didn't take much for memories of the previous night to replay, Kalay wondering for the moment if she had planned to get him into her room as she had or if it had been a spur of the moment decision. It didn't seem of vital importance to figure out though. Instead, Kalay sat up and stretched as Carbuncle climbed between the pair and curled up against Lisanna as if she were going to go back to sleep. Kalay shook his head before gently reaching out and nudging Lisanna's shoulder. "Hey, if I'm not allowed to sleep in neither are you. We've got places to be." He teased, yawning as he did so. Carbuncle just seemed to ignore Kalay, savoring the warmth she seemed to be getting from laying next to Lisanna as Kalay climbed out of the bed. After taking time to find his clothing and get decently dressed to where he could make it back to his room without attracting attention, Kalay stretched once more to try to get his body moving fluidly again.

"Carbuncle, I task you with making sure she gets ready." He stated bluntly. Carbuncle didn't even stir from next to Lisanna as Kalay spoke. And, if Lisanna was up, she'd probably find his decision amusing. If she wasn't, Kalay had little doubt that Carbuncle wouldn't wake her up as soon as she was nice and warm. As for Kalay, he couldn't very well stay in Lisanna's room. As nice as the thought might have sounded, like Lis he needed to get ready. They did have a mission to prepare for, and neither was prepared in the slightest. He didn't leave right away though, as Kalay found himself lingering by the door for a moment as he watched Lisanna. He didn't say anything for a length of time before finally a smile found it's way to his face as he watched her. "Good Morning, Lis." And he was gone, leaving Carbuncle curled up against Lisanna.

Kalay didn't waste much time in navigating to his room, getting the occasional glance from others as he went by. This was most likely because Kalay getting up at any time early was unheard of. It didn't help he hadn't been able to locate his shirt, though he had managed to locate his vest which was resting in his right arm as he went along his way. Eventually he got to his room and was quick to clean up in the shower as well as get dressed in clothing more suitable for the mission. It was only after he got changed and had gathered his things into the chair of the room that he took a moment to stare into his mirror with a serious gaze. Carbuncle was still with Lisanna, so he couldn't very well talk to her at the moment so he just thought, letting his mind wander. It wasn't long before he came to what the mission today likely entailed, but... he wasn't concerned. "I'll do what I have to do. It's not like it's anything different from normal." Kalay stated firmly, pushing back from the mirror and going over to his things. He didn't have much when he got to looking at it, but it wasnt' really like they were going on a holiday trip either.

Kalay silently pulled his sword to his waist, strapping it there before grabbing a communications device, pulling it into his pocket, and finally picking up the necklace that was laying on the chair, pulling it around his neck before he stood up. Black button up shirt and dark pants with a vest over top, hair pulled back with dark gloves. This wasn't how he normally looked, but given the mission he didn't really want to look the same as he did when he went to Aurel. The only thing missing was the pole staff that usually rested on his back. It was too bad, really. He hadn't had time to request a new one with any intention of having it finished, so this would just have to do he guess. At some point in his preparations he heard Yuka's announcement start up, meaning others would likely be getting up as well about this time. For a moment Kalay wondered if Sou-ho would already be at the gate waiting for them. It was still early, but not so early that such a thing was impossible. With that in mind, Kalay started to the door, surprised that when he opened it there was a young man standing on the other side with his hand outstretched as if he were going to knock.

"Yes?" Kalay asked, giving the young man a strange look. Seeming hardly fazed, the young man held out a staff. "Your request was seen. Your sister said to send you this as soon as someone was available. She also said that your request for Lisanna was also being fulfilled. I don't know if she finished it though. Either way, there you go Instructor Laytos." Kalay blinked as he took the pole staff, nodding lightly. "Thanks." That was all Kalay offered as he pushed past the young man and closed his door behind him. The pole staff appeared to have a sheath of some kind, or rather a clasp that held it against the leather strap that it was attached to. "She's very attentive." He mumbled, pulling the strap over his shoulder and walking down the hall. He probably needed to figure out where Carbuncle and Lisanna had gotten off to.

Lloyd's eyes snapped open at the sound of the feminine voice over the intercom. The sunlight streamed into his room and somehow the entire scene seemed mellow. Had this been a normal day Lloyd would have panicked and jumped out of bed about something. However, today was...Lloyd shook his head and glanced at the clock on his wall. He laid back in bed and gazed at the ceiling at the events of last night came back to him.

The night had slowed to a crawl and Lloyd worked vigorously on anything just to keep his mind off of the mission. Down in the vehicle hanger he met with Kyrrdis, who had been given a mission. His teacher had a heart to heart with his student which helped Lloyd immensely. Eventually Lloyd came back to his room and exhausted from the days events allowed his body a good night's rest. "Why am I so anxious?" he thought aloud then finally forced himself up once more.

The daily preparations went by slower than usual and Lloyd seemed to keep staring at himself. "You're gonna come back, simple as that" he couched to himself than finally got dressed. He wore a fitted white shirt, black jacket and dark pants that were a bit loose. He then pulled on his fingerless gloves and strapped on the pilebunker to his right arm. It was time. Lloyd pulled out a special glass case from beneath his bed and opened it. Within rested the 'legendary' spear of his family. Every Nipal man was said to pull of amazing feats with this at their side, and Lloyd sure as hell knew today would need a miracle.

Truthfully, deep down Lloyd was hopefully and grinned at the prospect of such a challenge. He pressed his fist to his chest and could feel the power of his GF present. However, since today could be his last day there was something he needed to take care of first. Lloyd strapped the spear to his back and exited his room and realized just how early it was. "Wow, my nerves must be shot if I'm up this early" he laughed to himself. The young SeeD made his way to the elevator but chose to curiously head to the 3rd floor.

Upon exiting, Lloyd made a beeline for the office. Within was Yuka doing the announcements as usual. As if oblivious to everything in his way, Lloyd approached her, put his hands on her cheeks and planted one hell of a kiss on the air. After a few seconds he broke the lip embrace and stared directly into her stunned eyes. "I really like you. Alot." He said then turned and left as abruptly as he came. With a joyful smile on his face he entered the elevator and headed to the first floor to the meeting place. Now he was ready to face utter doom.

An annoying sound buzzed from the side table. Tae was going to ignore it and go back to blissfully enjoying the warmth within her bed, but no it continued to buzz. With a sigh she turned over and fumbled with some papers and what felt like a piece of clothing. What was that buzzing sound anyways? Peeking an eye open her vision was a blurred mess.

"It's too early..." she grumbled accidently pushing her alarm clock onto the floor with a clang. She might have been more worried if the sound hadn't stopped when it had fell. "Ah... thank you for shutting up..." Though, come to think of it she didn't remember setting the alarm when she went to bed last night. No matter it wasn't a dire need to know how it was turned on just that it had stopped now.

Wriggling her limbs that had been exposed to the air back under the warmth of the blankets she'd turned back over and placed her arm where it had been before. Resting over a figure's waist that wasn't a stuff animal or her sibling, as they had at one time before shared a bed but not that she would remember.

A content sigh slipped passed her lips. She could lay like this for the rest of the the day. Unfortunately for her someone was speaking over the intercom that seemed more like they were yelling in her sleep deprived head. "Yuka... why must you be so loud?" Everything was loud this morning.

With almost an irritated sigh she nuzzled the figure's neck. "Good morning..." Tae paused long enough to open her eyes half way to look at the figures face, "Ellale."

Last night was wonderful. The ball over all was nice and the time they'd just spent gazing up at the stars and to pick out the different consolations was perfect. From there they'd gone back to their rooms only to find out they hadn't wanted to part from each other. The memories brought a smile to her face before she started to sit up and eventually get ready for the new day and the start of their new mission.

Unlike her partner, Ellale has no trouble sleeping through Tae's alarm. When Ellale's alarm went off, it shook her room to make sure she got up, so given that Tae's alarm was much softer in comparison, the girl slept soundly through it, curled up under the blankets with a content look on her face. Of course, she barely noticed when Tae moved to turn off the alarm, and only stirred faintly feeling an arm wrap around her bare waist. Without conscious though, Ellale wiggled closer to Tae, relaxing against her without so much as a sound to suggest she'd actually woken up. It wasn't until after Yuka's announcement had long since started and Tae nuzzled her neck that Ellale stirred, blinking her sleepy eyes to look up at Tae for a moment. For a moment, confusion was evident on her face as she stared at Tae, almost like she didn't remember anything. She continued to stare at Tae up until Tae sat up, revealing Tae's bare back. It was about that time she realized it.

"Uwah!" The sound Ellale made was hardly lady like as she grabbed the blanket and quickly pulled it to her chest, blushing brightly as she sat up. Looking around in a flustered daze, Ellale could make out her dress and under clothes laying in the corner of the room, which really only made matters worse for her as she buried her red face into the blankets she held to her chest. It made sense, though. She hadn't exactly brought any bed clothes to Tae's room, so... of course she didn't wear anything to sleep. That didn't explain why Tae wasn't wearing anything also, but in the flustered state of mind she was, Ellale could hardly put anything together in her head as she replayed the evening quickly in her head. She remembered looking at the stars with Tae, returning Tae's room, and not wanting to leave. When had she gotten undressed?! "Taaaaaae. It's cold." Ellale whined, pulling her red face from the blankets to look over at Tae.

So there was little she could do about being embarrassed at the thought of climbing out from beneath the blankets, and nothing to help about seeing Tae in a similar lack of clothing, but it wasn't like she was uncomfortable. Just flustered. Very flustered. She managed to calm herself enough to sit up and plant a faint kiss on Tae's cheek before relaxing with a slowly fading blush. "Okay.... shower." Ellale mumbled, taking a deep breath. Now that her flustered moment of surprise had passed, she realized what time it was and that they needed to get up. "I don't want to get up." Ellale whined, wrapping her arms around Tae tentatively, resting her head on Tae's shoulder. Alas, regardless what she wanted to do, they needed to get up and as soon as Tae was up, Ellale was set to work at least gathering her clothing together. She needed different clothes to wear, but that didn't mean she couldn't linger and get ready mostly in Tae's room. Who knew, perhaps Tae would want to go with her back to her room to get clothes after getting cleaned up for the day.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Lisanna was soundly asleep when she felt someone shake her shoulder. She stirred but did not yet wake up, not even as she felt something warm and soft snuggle beside her, and the quiet noises of someone moving around did not seem to register in her mind. It was only when she heard the click of the door closing that she blinked awake and sat up, clutching the sheets to her chest and looking a little confused. Then she heard the faint sounds of breathing next to her and looked down. What followed after that was a loud shriek and a good deal of flailing as she scrambled backwards in surprise and fell out of the bed, landing with a thump on the floor. ”C-Carbuncle!” She gasped, staring up at the little gf that was now perched on the edge of the bed looking down her curiously. The sight of the creature had surprised her so much because she did not immediately remember what had happened last night.

As her sleep befuddled mind attempted to find a reason for Carbuncle’s presence in her bed it started to piece together the events of the evening and the girl blushed deeply and hid her face in her hands.
”Kalay…oh god…” She knew now that Kalay must have already left and wondered what on earth he must think of her after her spur of the moment decision to ask him to stay. To be fair her decision had been because of her long withheld feelings for him, but he didn’t know that. He probably now thought she was some careless harlot or something. Lis let her hands drop and looked up at Carbuncle hopelessly for a moment. ”What have I done…I need to explain to him but…” She hesitated. To explain would mean she’d have to admit to him certain feelings that he may not be interested in hearing. She’d been content with just friendship but this…this could change everything.

The girl sighed and stood up, clutching the sheets to herself to protect what was left of her modesty around Kalay’s gf. She somewhat awkwardly patted Carbuncle on the head before making her way into her bathroom to shower and get ready for the day ahead. Twenty or so minutes later when she emerged Lis felt refreshed and clearer headed, but still rather anxious. It didn’t help that she knew she needed to concentrate on the mission. It would be dangerous enough to try and get through without her head being all messed up with her stupid feelings as well. Carbuncle had curled up on her bed again and seemed to be napping so she left the little gf to it as she got herself ready, finding clothes and so on. She settled for black boots, a white skirt with a sash and a long sleeved blue top, and left her hair down as usual but with a lavender bow. After that she grabbed her substitute bow, accompanied with her arrow case which she slung over her shoulder along with her short sword in its sheath. She had to try hard to ignore how strange it felt not to have her normal bow which had been lost in the last mission.

’This one is just as good I expect…’ She thought to herself disconsolately. Holding the new bow in her hand she finally wandered back over to the bed. Carbuncle’s ears perked up as she approached and the rabbit gf sat up again, tilting its head as it looked at her.
”It was nice of you to stay with me, so thank you. I should get going now though, and I guess Kalay will want you back huh?” She said, smiling a little. She stroked Carbuncle’s ears for a moment before turning away again and heading for the door, letting the gf jump off the bed and follow at her feet. It was with slight amusement that she spotted Kalay’s shirt on the floor nearby and leaned down to pick it up and fold it, laying it on her table next to the lamp. Had Kalay really gone back to his dorm shirtless? She chuckled a little at the thought. He could come back and get it later…if there was a later. Lis shook her head to keep her thoughts on track and grabbed an apple to eat for breakfast before opening her door and stepping outside, making sure that Carbuncle was still with her. ”Come on then…we’ve got a mission to complete, I guess.” She said, taking a bite of the apple and starting to walk, Carbuncle trotting along beside her.

She wasn't sure what it was about the skin to skin contact but it felt nice when Ellale had wiggled closer to her. The warmth of their bodies combined was like a nice cocoon. No wonder why the caterpillar's enjoyed their nice beds during the winter. But no matter, one had to get up eventually.

As she had sat up a smile tugged at her lips upon the sound of Ellale and her attempt to pull the blanket up to her chest as fast as she could. She wasn't sure if she just found it amusing or if she found it rather cute. Perhaps she should have at least wore some undergarments to bed this time. Normally she didn't wear anything in favor of feeling the sheets against her skin, but then again normally she didn't have bed guests.

"Yeah, it is a bit chillier than it normally is in here... wonder if the heater went out or something. Or could be just cold out side..." she spoke softly. She wasn't an early riser so didn't really notice how cold it was at this time in the morning. Though, there wasn't much she could do or really offer the other girl as in terms of warmth. After all they needed to shower. At that thought Ellale gave her a kiss on the cheek making her lean into it.

A soft chuckle emerged from her lips as Ellale wrapped her arms around her. A hand came up to cup around the other girls arm. It was a vague gesture in a return hug. "Neither do I..." she mumbled back before a yawn broke through. "However, I don't know about you, I don't want anyone else finding me in this state to check up on us."

Honestly, Tae wasn't even sure if someone would indeed come to find them in her room. If they didn't show, perhaps they would think they were backing out, even though Sou-Ho was pretty clear last night that they didn't have that choice after he'd given them a chance to do just that. "Come on...let's go get ready." Tae stood up and held out a hand for Ellale to take before going to the shower. No point in wasting the water in taking turns.

She would find something for Ellale to wear back to her room when they were done taking their shower. Perhaps it was a real chance of dying in this mission that she didn't want to spend unneeded time away from Ellale. It could have been a number of things but in honest she didn't really care which one it was.

Not looking back at Ellale she headed into the bathroom pulling her partner inside before closing the door. Heading to the shower that look to be just big enough for the both of them to stand in she had released Ellale's hand to turn on the water. "How hot do you like your water to be?" She asked her over her shoulder as she turned to the knob on switching back and forth between the hot dial and the cold. She liked it just shy on the hotter side but if Ellale didn't like it too hot she didn't mind.

Once the water was at the right temp she picked up Ellale's hand noticing the blush that had occurred upon her face and the uncertain look in her eyes as Tae pulled her into the shower. All Ellale had to do was say no and Tae would leave her be. "It'll be quicker to share a shower so as not to be late for the mission. And it'll give us enough time to head to your room to get yourself ready. I should have some clothes for you to wear in the mean time after we're done here." She wasn't sure if it was the heat from the shower as the water splashed against her skin or if it was something else that made her own cheeks flush. There wasn't anything to be shy about really in Tae's opinion. They both were girls and had the same body parts. She had never really been the shy type about her own body. Even the scar that torn an ugly white line down between her chest, her side, and around her back. Perhaps it was that, the small fear of Ellale hating that one imperfection about her that was eating at her right now. Pushing it aside she turned her face into the water wetting her hair down and the rest of her body.

Between the two of them the shower didn't take long at all like it would had they took turns to shower. Any of the shirts Tae had were long on Ellale, but that was okay because it wasn't like she was going to wear them on the mission. She also gave Ellale a pair of shorts to wear as well.

After getting herself dressed in a dark green, long sleeve shirt, dark jeans, and a pair of boots she pulled on her swords. Grabbing a green ribbon she slipped it into her hair after drying it out first of course. When that was all said and done she turned to Ellale with a smile, "Ready."

The fact that Ellale could have watched her dress didn't really seem to faze Tae one bit. It might have been the nerves that were making her stomach twist in a knot and her chest tight to almost be considered painful. None of these emotions were revealed upon her face though.

Kalay had made a pass around by Lisanna's room to see if she was done yet, but judging by the fact that he received no response to his knocking, either she was already out, didn't want to answer the door, or was too busy to even notice he'd knocked. Either way, Kalay only waited for a short while before he moved on, heading on his way out of the dorms as he listened to the announcements being read through the intercom. Really, Kalay hardly bothered with retaining any of the information given by Yuka aside from the weather, but he did come to a stop just outside the dorms when he heard Yuka stop mid sentence. He blinked as he looked up, listening as he heard Yuka make what sounded like a yelp, followed by a familiar voice giving her a confession, and then silence. Kalay waited, mentally counting the seconds in his head as he waited for some sound other than silence to come over the intercom. Finally after almost 10 seconds, "He kis- The intercom...!" and the click of it going off. Holding back a laugh, Kalay continued on his way.

Kalay hadn't had anything to eat as of the moment, but he also needed to check on something else. Putting the "something else" in higher priority, Kalay changed course, making his way around the outer circle walkway of the Garden, heading to the mechanic wing to see about Lisanna's bow. It was some time later but Kalay returned empty handed, yawning as he made his way towards the cafeteria next. He was moving about without much direction, but at least he had the sense to enjoy this time. He wasn't worrying about the mission, or at least not visibly on the outside. It was weird not having the little companion he usually had with him, but Lisanna probably needed her company more than he did. He did occasionally see a strange look from people whom noticed him without Carbuncle in tow, mainly students who were used to the GF even sitting in class while Kalay lectured, but most just crossed it off as a strange occurrence and moved along their way.

Finally, after going through line and finding a place to sit, Kalay sat down for breakfast, taking slow bites out of a bagel as he stared across the cafeteria. He really didn't have any idea where everyone else was at, but he could assume they were getting ready. It made him wonder just what Sou-ho was doing at that moment. That man had more invested in this in terms of stress than anyone else. Whatever happened was on him, he was the main leader. Just how was he going to handle it all? Granted, Kalay certainly remembered what Sou-ho said to him. Perhaps Sou-ho was hoping that Kalay would help in keeping things from turning a suicide mission for the new SeeD. 'Good choice.'

Meanwhile, Carbuncle had remained silent while Lisanna had been getting ready, napping as much as possible before sitting up as Lis spoke to her. Carbuncle watched Lisanna for a while, giving a faint shake of her head at Lis's question before jumping off the bed and following her. They were out and in the hallways after a short while, Carbuncle following beside her contently. "Kalay is in the Cafeteria, if you're looking for him. Don't worry so much about all the stuff. It'll be fine, I'm sure." This was perhaps the first time Carbuncle's soft voice had ever made it's way to Lisanna, but Carbuncle didn't even stop as she continued along her way, as if her speaking to Lisanna was something as normal as the sun rising. If Lisanna stopped, Carbuncle would stop, but in general, Carbuncle was just following her. As it where, Carbuncle returned to being silent as she watched Lisanna, following her as how Carbuncle would usually follow Kalay.

It was clear to Ellale that the longer she was in contact with Tae, the easier it was to not turn as red as a rose and the easier it was to not be flustered thinking about it. In Tae's defense, it was a cool morning outside, and her window was open slightly, so that probably explained the chill in the room. Either way, Ellale didn't say anything as she relaxed with Tae. It was nice that Tae leaned into the kiss on her cheek, helping Ellale relax as she rested her head on Tae's shoulder. Ellale went right next to blushing when Tae mentioned someone finding them in their current position. She had an image of Kalay walking in and... safe to say it flustered her all over again. It was good for her though as Tae climbed out of the bed and took Ellale's hand, pulling her after her. Ellale was too busy being flustered about someone walking in on them to realize where Tae was leading her, which was probably for the best.

Ellale blinked, seeming confused for a moment as Tae pulled her into the bathroom, closing the door. It was painfully evident that the situation had not quite crossed Ellale's mind until Tae turned on the water and asked how hot she wanted it to be. With a faint flail, using her arms to cover herself realizing she was just standing there. Unlike Tae, Ellale was pretty clear that she was flustered about being naked in front of Tae. Ellale just watched Tae with a deep blush as Tae spoke mentioning the benefits of the taking a shower together, and with some trepidation she let Tae pull her into the shower. Now that they were in a well lit room, Ellale could see a scar that cut a strange line from Tae's chest to her side and around to her back. Ellale stared at the scar for the moment, barely taking notice of the water falling on her as she watched it. Tae didn't seem to notice it, but Ellale reached out faintly as if she were going to touch the scar starting at her side before realizing what she was doing and pulling her hand back quickly, her blush having faded in her moment of surprise.

After that, the shower went with a rather shy and flustered Ellale. Every time Tae made contact with Ellale, she'd shy away for a moment with a blush before relaxing. It was rather evident that Ellale was not used to contact like this. The fact that they were in a shower together though would have revealed something to Tae that she might have never noticed before. On the back of Ellale's shoulder was the strange twisting mark of two wings intertwined on her right. Ellale didn't seem to think anything of the mark as the two showered, but in return she tried to not watch Tae's scar. Eventually, with a lot of flustered moments, the pair managed to get clean and get out of the shower to get dressed.

It took Ellale only moments to get the clothes on, Tae's shirt almost long enough to not need shorts, but Tae provided them anyways. Ellale was quick to get dressed, gathering up her dress and underwear before watching Tae get dressed. Her gaze was soft, almost as if she wasn't sure it was okay to watch her because Ellale's eyes focused on the scar when Tae wasn't looking. It wasn't that the scar bothered Ellale, it was that she wanted to understand it. Tae was done soon though, and the pair made their way to Ellale's room so Ellale could get ready.

Ellale was quick to putting her dress aside once they were in her room before digging through her drawers to get clothing out. After making sure Tae had closed the door, Ellale undressed and redressed in new underwear and clothes quickly. She pulled on black shorts and a under shirt before pulling on her top. She was keenly aware that if she held her arms up, her stomach was visible, but she didn't care as she pulled on her gloves. After getting on her leggings and shoes, Ellale quickly combed her hair and grabbed goggles from next to her bed. With that, she was done, turning to Tae with a smile. "There! All ready!" Ellale said in a happy tone, taking a moment to put her daggers on her hips and pull her rifle over her shoulder. She finished this up with pulling a small bag over her shoulder before holding her hand out to Tae. Tae could probably tell what was in the bag without even looking into it. Rounds for her rifle. Ellale was a sniper after all.

"Lets get something to eat, Tae." Her usual happy mood had clearly returned as she smiled at her friend.

The night hadn't quite been uneventful for the stranger to these halls, staying after to speak with the man who seemed to have been placed in charge. For a while the two spoke and at length came to terms with a few things, Varitas coming to understand a good deal more about the background of this mission he'd elected. Following this extended discussion, Varitas made his way to a warehouse Sou-ho had suggested, whereupon he found a few crates with some new clothes. Clothes far finer than any which had before graced his skin. For a few hours he scoured through the boxes before finally finding an ensemble which both fit, adequately, and allowed the man to keep a sense of himself. The outfit he'd selected wouldn't be donned until the following morning. Following this exercise in vanity, he found his way to the room where the man Sou-ho had informed him he could stay. It wasn't particularly difficult, matching the strange symbols on the key with the signs on the doors, once he'd figured out their pattern.

The sky had not yet given in to the warm piercing rays of the sun when the man's eyes opened, his blade, resting sheathed across his lap, where he sat on the floor leaning against the foot of the bed. This had been a peaceful night, no monsters, no intruders, He'd managed to get a full four hours of sleep. Though this man had long since given up on remaining unconscious any longer than that. Even in such a well and "safe" place, his body had gotten used to it and in fact expected it.
Standing, Varitas found himself wandering into the smooth room with the hard floors and pipes. Though not accustomed to such luxuries, the word crossed his mind. 'Bathroom.' A brief bit of follow-up led him to turn on the water, the temperature of which remained un-regulated and thus cold. The grime of a long journey and an old life were scrubbed away, without soap. After drying himself with the rags which had kept him covered perviously, Varitas donned the new outfit. The novelty of such hadn't worn off yet. New clothes... Loose fitting, well cut brown/gray pants, over new black socks and solidly tied sandals, each feeling against his skin like fine silk. A fine pristine white sleeveless shirt buttoned up his chest, over the top of an undershirt he'd fashioned from what might've been a very ornate shawl, the point of which draped neatly over his leg concealing the sheathed daggers tied thereabouts. Finally, over the top of these articles a fine white coat, with a green checkered print in the lining. The fit allowed great movement and would allow a flourish which might make an opponent firing at range hit the clothing rather than the body. Finally completing the outfit by strapping weeping heaven in all her glory to his back, the ornate hilt sticking up over his left shoulder.
Ready now to confront the day he left the room in its darkness, and wandered over to the reflection pool where he would await the sunrise, chewing occasionally on a dried morsel from his packed provisions as he sat cross legged his visage and stature reposeful and contemplative. As anyone facing a dangerous task he had many things which wresled in his mind. However by this point they wrestling was not of things to do before the mission, or in case of death. His mind contemplated life in its many forms.

with the coming of the golden sun and the bronzing of the skyline, Varitas' meager consumption of the nearly military provisions left him energized. the first peaceful night he'd ever spent with his thoughts left him calm but combative, a sheen of conviction would be evident in his eyes. After some time he noticed the green haired man he'd seen interacting with that strange monster he'd seen earlier. However this time, without his monster. By now the night had been claimed by the trappings of a bright blue sky and a glimmering yellow sun. the change really did happen quickly. In the background the voice of a child reciting information droned on, but Varitas' attention remained on following the man. This involved taking a place in the line in the cafeteria, and while he'd never been in this situation, lines for provisions were not a foriegn concept. though the "food" certainly had been. very few meats which head been entirely abnormal. He'd grabbed one thing though, a cup of a strong smelling bitter black water, which seemed to sharpen his senses. something about the bitterness seemed to match the mood of the morning. And so, he took this cup and strode up to the instructor from behind so as not to alarm him, taking a position at least on empty chair away from him. He'd give things some time, observing him peripherally and periodically taking a drink of the bitter liquid.

The Blonde SeeD stood in the elevator and smiled feeling the warmth of the sun on his skin. For his possible last day alive, this was a really nice start. He was actually very content, after all he confessed to Yuka and stole a kiss out of that situation. That's when he reflected on last night's events again. Sophia. His smile slowly shifted to a frown as he tightened his fist a bit. That night on the balcony he confessed all he felt for her. From the desire to keep her safe from harm to everything that went through his mind during that final attack during the examination.

But...in the end those feelings weren't reciprocated. Though she was grateful and flattered by his feelings, Sophia expressed that she didn't think of him in quite the same way. To her, Lloyd was akin to a guardian who was always protecting and taking care of her. Needless to say, that was a severe blow to Lloyd's heart but the moment it began to show he bottled it up and smiled understandingly. He didn't want to be selfish and make her feel bad so he just took it in.

The guardian and protector huh? It fit who he was. The goofy guy who had a serious side to him and at times seemed too fragile. It was all true. Lloyd was just a cheerful guy who tried his best to adapt to problems and situations presented to him. More than anything though, he valued and loved his friends. He believed that anyone who abandoned their friends were nothing but garbage. He lived by that loyalty and honor. Perhaps it was a curse, but Lloyd didn't mind. So what if he could end up alone? As long as they were safe then he would gladly sit by the sidelines and cheer them on while his heart ached. "It's alright with me" he said quietly to himself closing his eyes.

Still though, he confessed to Yuka. Honestly, with the situation he found himself in he did something he'd thought about doing every time he saw her. They had some of the same classes and talked from time to time. Perhaps it was a childish thing, but Lloyd found a bit of solace in that act of releasing all his self restraint just for a moment. If this was his last day then he wanted to leave with at least one regret off his mind. The chime of the elevator grabbed Lloyd's attention and he snapped out of his thoughts.

With a breath he stepped out and began to walked around the reflective pool. "I should go eat something" Lloyd pondered before slightly altering his direction toward the cafeteria. He noticed Riyel and gave an overly cheerful wave to his friend grinning. Once out of view he felt a few stray tears fall from his eyes which surprised him. He wiped them away and took a deep breath, "No time for a breakdown Lloyd, everything is fine" he nodded to himself and quickly regained his composure.

Upon entering the cafeteria he grabbed about 2 bottles of apple juice, 2 bottles of orange juice, his favorite cinnamon muffin, and a single strip of bacon in his teeth. This should be enough to keep him fueled today. He cradled the material in his arm and noticed Kalay and the odd looking guy from last night. He approached the instructor and company with a bit of pep in his step. "Oyyye Mayvey!" he talked through his currently occupied mouth. He placed down his breakfast items next to Kalay and plopped down next to him. He quickly gobbled up the bacon strip and let out a satisfied sigh. "G'mornin comrade!" he greeted and took a bite out of his muffin before popping the cap on his apple juice.

As it were, Kalay didn't seem to take notice that he was being followed nor did he seem at all curious about the strange man whom had started following him somewhere around the reflection pool. Kalay didn't even seem to take note of him as Kalay went to his seat and sat down, content to enjoy his breakfast in peace. It wasn't until Varitas made his way from behind that Kalay shifted faintly, but he didn't stop in eating his breakfast as he gave a sideways glance to where Varitas sat. It didn't take more than a few moments for Kalay to be aware he was being watched as he nibbled on his food. Nothing was said for a span though, Kalay finishing his bagel and going to drink the orange juice he had gotten with his food. Finally, "So you're the guy whose coming along with us." Kalay's tone sounded bored, even his expression seemed like that as he looked over at Varitas. " I don't care much for straight black coffee, usually I add at least milk."

After offering his impression on Varitas's taste for coffee. After that, it actually looked like Kalay was done talking, taking to drinking his drink in silence. This might also have been for the fact that just moments later Lloyd sat on Kalay's other side. Kalay gave Lloyd a slightly amused look before going back to slowly drinking his drink as he shook his head. "You're as lively as ever. The joy of being young again." Kalay said with what might have been a chuckle on his voice. Kalay wasn't old in the slightest, so it was rather clear he was being sarcastic. He seemed to be in a good mood though, as per usual for Kalay. "So, confessing on air to Yuka?" There was definitely a smirk on Kalay's face as he glanced over at Lloyd, his yellow eyes watching the young man for a reaction before going back to his drink. So, Kalay has clearly put two and two together. There was a chance he wasn't sure though, given by how he looked at Lloyd for a reaction. Perhaps he was seeing how Lloyd reacted to tell for sure.

"So I may know your name, but it seems improper. My name is Kalay. I presume you're Varitas from Centra." Kalay said with a yawn, resting his head on his hand while his other hand held his drink. Kalay almost wondered what the man thought of him. Almost. It wasn't any of his concern if Varitas didn't like him or not, so long as they didn't end up at ends with one another during the mission which was unlikely.

Varits remained silent until the man spoke breaking the silence, he'd been carefully observing how alert this instructor remained of his surroundings. Indeed the slight shift when he came up from behind let Varitas know what kind of man he'd found himself dealing with. "The unpleasant taste kind of seems to fit the mood of the morning, and the bitterness reminds me of back home. But it's good to know what they call this beverage." Varitas remained stiocally observing the man with his peripheral vision even after the excitable youth ran up and plopped down beside them. His cup slowly had drained down his gullet and now lay useless and virtually empty on the table before him. Vaitas seemed to be staring at it intently. PErhaps attempting to will it back into being filled.

And again abruptly the man spoke. "Yes my name is Varitas, I am from Centra, Kalay Laytos. It is good to actually meet you, as we may end up spilling blood together soon..." A momentary pause as with a soft pawing motion Varitas slid the near empty mug off to the right and out of the way. "I respect you, Kalay. You seem to be a man who understands the world and his own limitations. In short, I know that with you around, so long as you can keep your subourdinates in line, we should all live through this." The soft morning light filtering through the windows of the cafeteria silhouetted his face, adding a more dramatic, philosophical air to his almost nihilistic tone of voice. "But remember you have plenty to live for, so don't let me catch you trying to die out there. We are all in this together, and you have a nice home, and a good way of life you owe it to everyone to come back to it... whereas I... I have made my peace, and have lived the fight." Varitas remained stationary never once looking into the man's face, his voice was low and so it would be highly possible that only the man right beside him could hear what he said clearly.
