Chi bit her lip again but kept a hold of Vale. Using one arm to hold him up slightly, she hooked a finger under his chin with her free hand and turned his face towards her, hopefully so he would look back into her eyes as she stared in his. "Va-ale?... Tell me what's going on... I need to know..." she said softly. Of course she noticed he was going blind, but that's not what she was talking about at the moment.

Chi flinched when Vale started coughing. Without asking if he was ok, and once the coughing fit had temporarily stopped, she took the hand he coughed in and turned it so she could see the blood in his palm. She was silent for a good few minutes before resting her hand in his and bringing their hands up to her forehead, closing her eyes as if praying. "Just as you've helped me find my cure... I'll help you find your's..."

"They're liars. You do deserve it. You have the right to live," Chi said softly, lowering their hands from her forehead and opened her eyes, staring back at him gently. "I owe my life to you... I won't let you be forgotten..." She wiped away the blood at his mouth with her thumb, but she didn't wipe the blood off on her clothes or anything. Instead, one of her rib bones close to her heart stuck out of her chest, and that's where she wiped the blood off her thumb. She proceeded to cover the bone itself with the blood she got on her other hand, and the bone didn't go back into her body until it was almost completely stained red. "That's my way of making a blood-bound promise..."

Chi couldn't help a smile and nodded. "Good. Now for a while, you're gonna have to lay still. I need to start somewhere about this cure, and the best place to start is by examining what it's doing to your body in the first place." She made sure Vale was laying down on his back before shifting herself so she was kneeling next to about the center of his chest. From there, she took his left hand lightly to move it to his side before letting her hands rest over his chest. Her hands started to glow a soft green as she focused on her medical ninjutsu, starting her examination.

Chi took about ten minutes, which seemed much longer than that. When she finished, she sighed and leaned back slightly, going over the information in her head. "It seems that the illness is attacking the organs... most illnesses do, but your's attacks your body in a strange pattern that I've only seen once before..." She scratched the back of her head for a bit, then persisted to do another examination to make sure she wasn't mistaken. This time it took about only five or so minutes, but it still seemed to take forever. Chi sighed as she finished and pulled her hands into her lap, thinking.

"Hm? I guess it's happened multiple times then, now that I think about it," Chi muttered, mostly in thought and to herself. "Wanna know something weird? Judging from the patterns the illness is attacking your body, it's really similar to my own illness..." Then she paused again, thinking out loud once more. "Kimimaro suddenly came down with the fatal illness, but the rest of the clan never showed any symptoms. The original theory was because Kimimaro was like the only one in the Kaguya clan with the actual Shikotsumyaku Kekkei Genkai... I contracted the illness from him... If Itachi went through the same thing, and because you're an Uchiha, it's possible you contracted the illness from him just by being blood-related..."

Chi looked over at Vale for a few moments before getting to her feet. "Then we're going to the hospital immediately. I need to talk to my friends there to help alter the cure so it adjusts to normal bodies, rather than my Shikotsumyaku body." Without waiting for an answer, she pulled Vale to his feet carefully and wrapped one of his arms around her shoulder so she could help support him.
