Some had already died? A shiver overtook her body at those words, but what came next scared her even more. The tone in the woman's voice sent a chill down her spine. What sort of herbalist was she? That she would speak so to a child. Nevertheless, she had been given a chance to gain the necessary means to save whoever was still alive back home, and she was not going to waste it by allowing her fears to get the better of her.
She managed to stammer out, "I promise. I will tell no one of your help. I will do whatever you ask of me." She watched the woman take the book from the shelf and move behind some sort of stand, and waited to be told what to do. She wasn't sure what to do about the flowers she still held in her hand.

If there was one thing Tiri dispised it was thieves...lack of knowledge and of course others taking advantage of her kindness. If everyone knew she would help them when they were ill (wither they could pay or not) she would be in debt and a ton of proverbial hot water! This child was good to be scared; and why shouldn't she be? pretty soon she imagined the town would be aflutter with rumors of the witch in the tower to the west...Hmph.
"Put the flowers on the table, then take the blossoms and JUST the blossoms off and place them in the bowl beside you," she spoke coldly, even tone not sour but not sweet to the ear either.
"Crush these herbs," she opened the book in front of her and looked into the empty cauldron. She poured two jugs of what looked like very pure water into it before hissing of the fire began beneath it. The seemingly dead fire sprung to life without so much as a spark, but it rather provided its own! It roared beneath the black fo the pot which seemed to swallow the light and soon enough the early concauction looked like a boiling pot of water. It turned colors as she added this and that...a bit of spoiled dill joice and a sprinkling of Ninth Cloud as well as a Frog's Ear or two. The pot bubbled and hissed as she added apple peels and finally she looked, rather impatiently back at the child. "Are you ready yet?" she scowled this time, potion making was not for the feint of heart and it certainly was not for those too young to realise most of the effects the cauldron had were temporary such as the deep red fog which seemed to emanate from it now and cover the floor in a blanket of sweetly smells like flowers and spice.

She did as instructed, and took only the blossoms from the flowers, placing them in the bowl on the table. She then began to crush the herbs with a pestle she found on the table. She had watched their own healer enough times to know what she was doing. As she ground up the herbs, she shot quick glances at the woman called Tiri. She'd never seen a cauldron as large as the one she currently used. She almost jumped out of her skin when she saw the fire roar to life without so much as a stick of wood being laid on it. She knew about magic, but she had never seen it first hand. She caught quick glimpses of strange things going into the pot, and hoped she would not have to sample the final product. When the red fog started to rise up, overflow the edges of the cauldron, and creep across the towers floor, she knew that all she wanted was to get whatever potion the woman was making for her, and flee the tower, never to return.
She quickly gave the herbs one more spin of the pestle as she replied, "Yes ma'am, I'm done."

Tiri's eyes and hands followed her path up to the cauldron, she was indicating to throw them in, the final ingredient.
"When you are finished tossing them in, bring me the stool you were on," she nodded, her demeanor calmer now that she had all but finished a potion. The fog dissipating almost the second the flowers were emptied into the pot. it was instead leaving the room a sickly sweet like cherries candied and pineapple sours were melted together.
Tiri closed the book on her pedestal and put the book with a pile she had retrieved it from. The potion was, luckily, a simple enough one to create. The fire pit had all but disappeared into the coals again as quickly as it came.
The potion was a deep pink, almost like a not-right in ripeness plum and it darkened as it cooled.
Tiri went to her cabinets and grabbed a bag of clanking glass and corks. They were all the same size, little round glasses with little remnants of previous contents or nothing at all on their sides and some without corks.
"You will wait, with me, and when it cools we will bottle it and send you home." She huffed, grabbing at her mane and tossing it from her face. Potions...magic...it was all only any good if used for the right purpose and she knew Winevae and Elen would be watching...and the last thing she needed was her wisdom and talent for it taken out from under her.

Desi did as she was told, and placed the ingredients into the bubbling cauldron. She almost choked as she breathed in the sickly, sweet aroma of the mist rising up from the liquid in the pot. After she stepped back, she brought the stool over to Tiri and waited as the woman collected a store of bottles. She assumed that she would be taking all of them back with her when she left, but she wondered how she would carry so many without breaking any of them. If she had any hope of saving more lives, she would have to increase her speed on her return. It was not an easy road back to her village, and she would need to traverse some rocky patches, and cross a river to reach her village.
She stood beside Tiri, waiting for the potion to cool and said, "Thank you Miss Tiri. I give you my solemn word that I will not reveal to anyone who it was that I got the potion from. I will take it with me to my grave." She knew there would be questions about where she had gotten the potion, but she would not say a word about Tiri and her tower. She would come up with some other story that didn't include a woman or a tower.

Tiri looked harshly at the bubbling cauldron, and she nodded, it seemed cool enough. A large funnel with a long tube at its end was near where the bottles had been placed. The liquid turned a final color--sweet scarlet swirl. It was a sweet smell like the tower had been a bakery or a confectionery.
The two of them were able to quickly fill the bottles and cap them all. A Large tablecloth was made as a sack to carry them to the girl's village.
"Tell them it was a gift from Elen*" Tiri said, waving the girl down the road with her sack almost as big as she was full of a single dose for each of the people in the village.

Desi thanked her for all of her help, hefted the cloth sack carefully over her shoulder, using her pitchfork to keep it aloft, and away from her body, and left the tower behind. She traveled quickly, without stopping for water or rest, but it still took her more than a day to gain her village. The stink of death was in the air as she approached from downwind, and she prayed to the Goddess that her parents still lived.
She headed straight for their home first, and upon finding them still alive, gave each of them a dose of the liquid that Tiri had made. She then headed over to the healers home, leaving her parents questions as to where she had found the cure, unanswered. It didn't take long for her and the other teens to distribute the vials to all of those sick, and still alive. She steeled herself for the barrage of questions that was sure to come, and readied her story of having received the vials from the Goddess herself. It was a lie, and she didn't like lying to her parents, or anyone for that matter, but she had given her solemn word to Tiri, and she was not going to break it.

Spearmint & Wildflower PotionTuncay escorted a beautiful female to the tower. He wanted the female to be happy with the foals they were about to have. The musician was delighted Lilac had chosen him first. He was doing everything he could to ensure her happiness. Rumor had reached his ears of a possible potion that would allow an extra foal.
"Hello? Is anyone home?" Tuncay politely called at the door of the Tower.

Spearmint & Wildflower PotionLilac Star leaned against the bronze stallion, her belly was slowly starting to grow and it made it harder to walk and balance. She lightly rubbed her belly with a hand, while the other was around Tuncay for support. At this time her wings weren't helping with her balance, she took in a breath and blew it out. Who knew carrying foals would be taxing, but she was looking forward to them so she wasn't complaining. Curiousity nagged at her mind as to what they would look like.
She glanced at the musician "I hope, someone answers shortly" she said as she glanced at the door of the tower as well, her tail swishing to and fro idly. The two waited for a answer. She lightly brushed a strand of stray hair from her face.

Tiri Ithil had been working on her various potions. She was dipping candles at the moment when a knock distrupted her zen-movements and she had to hang the candles over the cauldron as she went to the door.
It opened in the dark of the clouded morning and drizzling rain she noted two...unannounced guests.
"Yesss--?" Tiri looked over the couple and gestured them come inside.
"It is raining--come inside for a bit," she spoke clamly, her tone always even and almost cold like the outdoors. Tiri did not like the rain for anything but its regenerative properties. it was more of a problem than anything else.
((just so you know only the mother needs to post but you're welcome to both post ^^ ))

Spearmint & Wildflower Potion Lilac star walked into the tower nodding politely "Thank you Ma'am" she answered as she walked in through the door way. Her tail swishing to and fro idly. She glanced around the Tower, it seemed a lot more roomy when it was hosting the spring festival. She leaned against Tuncay for support as they talked to the older mare.

Spearmint & Wildflower Potion (Oh. XD Well Tuncay wouldn't let her go alone. >.< Yeah.)
"Thank you My Lady. Your hospitality is welcomed." He gave a bow to Tiri and gestured for Lilac to proceed him. His harp was tucked carefully under his wings to avoid getting it wet. Tuncay stepped in after Lilac and took a look around. It was certainly a nice place.
"Pardon our intrusion My Lady. I had heard rumors of a potion that ensured an extra foal." He glanced fondly at Lilac then looked back at Tiri. "Would this by any chance be true?"

Tiri Ithil watched the two meekly enter her domain. They were like bright fireflies the one glowing ever so much brighter than the other; then again pregnancy has that effect...
"I could create such a thing...You would be required to participate of course." she gestured to the female who seemed flustered by this.
"Formalities are not a necessity here--if you don't mind. I met the both of you at the Spring Festival, correct?" she nodded, remembering the good playing the male had done and the female who was..as she is now, very shy and reserved. With a nod Tiri went to her stand and her book, opening a few up and looking for something.
((Quite alright ^^))
