We are the Sirens of Spain...

Giving a nod to understand the woman's answer, she was mildly surprised to be told that the girl knew Spanish. Well, she supposed that the mother might have moved into their city, and that perhaps the girl was a first generation child. After another moments, she determined that that had to be the reason, as she was certaintly half Siren. Giving her attention back to the adult as her prior question was answered, she nodded again, then told them, "Okay, I am Yolinda and I will be waitress today. I'll be right back with your waters." She set down two menus, then moved to retrieve the requested drinks.

Once in the back, she was stopped by a man, a fellow employee. He, unlike her, spoke no English, and talked rapidly in their native language as he asked the waitress, "Do you not know who those girls are?" Yolinda shrugged, but her mind was working to provide a decent answer. They did look familiar, but after a moment, she shook her head to answer. As she filled the glasses, the man spoke again, excitement in his tone. "How can you not? That woman has pink hair. Remember, the princess' mother has pink hair and is human. And the girl is half human." Raising her brow, she searched his expression for a joke, finding none. Sighing, she brushed off the words, as he was well known for exaggerating things. Quickly, she left the back, her steps smooth as she delivered the drinks to the correct table. "What would you like to eat?"

Tabby looked at the menu while the woman was gone. She could read a little Spanish and Yvette had helped her with most of the stuff. It was amazing what the girl knew already. "Yes I would like some Basque country and Paella for me." The woman then looked up at her daughter for her daughter to pick something. "I want some Chorizo." The girl answered as her mother fold up the menus to had to the waitress.

We are the Sirens of Spain...

After setting down the drinks, she slipped a notepad from her pocket, and pen appeared from her behind her ear as she listened to their orders. Scribbling the dishes down quickly, she flashed the two a smile, then retreated back into the kitchen. The cooks got to work, and before she could leave to start on another table, the waiter stopped her once more. "Did you ask them who they were?" Yolinda frowned, shaking her head as she said, "Of course not." She crossed her arms over her chest, one foot tapping as if daring her co-worker to stay in her way. The more table she waited on, the more tips she was likely to recieve, and she didn't need this man to keep her from her work. When he didn't move, she pushed him aside, walking back out into the open as he trailed behind, his voice a whisper as he insisted that those two were the princess and her mother. When she went back into the kitchen after retrieving the drinks of three more tables, he finally stopped being her shadow, as his own section of the room had new customers for him to deal with.

Picking up the plates for Tabby and Yvette, she swerved her way through the kitchen, then back into the dining room and at her table. She set down the dishes, but spoke sincerely to the child as her Chorizo was set down. "Careful. Plate is very hot." Leaving for a moment and then returning, she set down silverware and set about refilling their glasses with water. As she did so, she spoke lightly, amusement in her voice. "My friend has been telling me that you look like one of our princesses." She winked to Yvette, then continued with her attention on Tabatha. "And that you are like her pretty mother. He is right. You two are very lovely."

The woman looked unhappy by the thought of her daughter being a princess. There was no way she was going to let her father be around her for a long time. "My daughter will never have a chance to be a queen." The woman answered. Another thought came to her mind. She had to make sure that her daughter and her would be left alone. "I would feel sorry for the mother of his first child. I mean she must have been just his play thing. What kind of man sleeps around with women and doesn't take responsibility." Those words were have degrading herself and she kind of felt that way.

We are the Sirens of Spain...

Noting the expression of the woman's face, she wondered why it would be anything other than the usual flattered face seen when she gave compliments to customers. That was odd, but she wouldn't say so aloud, not when she wanted her tips. Instead, she listened as the woman continued to speak, almost laughing at the mention of being queen. Of course she wouldn't be queen, there was no prince young enough for this girl to be seen by; in a few days, there would be no princes at all. Before she could respond, the woman was speaking again, causing Yolinda's expression to shift to one of defense. "Crown Prince is not who he used to be. But sí, the lady must have hard time. Good thing he care now. It was risk to keep secret from us all, but he did." She was refering to the fact that he had had a child at all was not known until two years prior, a thing that outraged the citizens for several weeks; until they realized that such a thing was one of dedication. They all believed that his dedication would serve them well. Plus, Sirens were always fond of romanticism, and such a story was recieved well.

Tabby shook her head. She was going to disagree. "You have your disillusion about your royal family. If he really cared for his daughter then he would make her the crown princess." The woman commented. "It's showing that he takes responsibility and he cares for the daughter." Tabby just noticed her comment was a little political. That would place her in the center of power. "I mean. I'm proud of my daughter now matter how different she is, but because of political choices that the ruling family makes, my daughter is without a race. Wizards and witches label her as a siren, she doesn't have any witchy abilities, only siren, but Siren's label her as human."

We are the Sirens of Spain...

After a moment of listening to this woman speak, Yolinda's brow rose. It was only the fact that insulted customer left bad tips that kept her from snapping at the woman. Who was she to insult her king, god rest his soul, her queen and her prince? Remaining silent as she allowed another waitress to take the pitcher of water, she surprised herself by not excusing herself, and instead stayed where she was, listening as the woman continued to speak. "I under impression that he did want the princess Yvette to be heir." She didn't mean to start rumours, but her sister was a guard in the castle, and has told her of what she'd overheard. Plus, she had said such in English, meaning that none around her would know exactly what was said. Apparently, the crown prince was unwilling to wait for the birth of a male; yet another risky move that she was sure proved his determination. "Nevermind. I only mean to say that you and daughter are very pretty."

Tabby was just fuming because of her meeting with Seth that she had just had. "Well to someone who isn't a siren it is an insult to not pick someone just because they are full blooded. That choice alienates all those who aren't Siren's and living in the kingdom." The woman said before she started to stuff her mouth. It was her way of shutting up.

Rather confused by this woman's statements, she refrained from responding. There was no need to speak of politics with a customer, as it was her duty as a waitress to keep those eating happy. She gave a short nod when they began to eat, then flashed a smile to the young girl. As she left the table to tend to her other duties, she couldn't help but think that the girl did look a little like the princess Yvette. However, she knew the thought had to be wrong; Yvette would be happy to be of royalty, she assumed, and that familiy seemed to think of their government as anything but happy.

Yvette wasn't very happy. Her parents were always fighting and she was right in the middle of it. Even then she would not be her daddy's number one anymore. There would be a half sibling. At least her mother's boyfriend was asking her permission to date her mother and she was sure that if they ever got married he would ask her again. Her father always just told her what was happening. "I don't want to be a princess."

We are the Sirens of Spain...

Despite his co-worker's claims that the pink haired woman and her child were not the princess and her mother, Yago was convinced of teh opposite. Who else would fit the description and walk about with a half human, half siren child? When it was clear that Yolinda was busy with her other tables, he signaled to the manager that he was taking his fifteen minute break now. While he usually spent it eating a snack and taking a short walk, he was willing to spend some of the time talking to these strange customers. Taking off the apron and coat that signified him as a waiter, he made his way toward the table. Granted, he wasn't blatant enough to approach and ask what was on his mind; he simply walked up and decided to try his luck at flirting with the woman. If he was somehow wrong in his assumptions, perhaps he could score a date with this lady. She was beautiful and without a wedding ring. "Excuse me miss, but I couldn't help noticing your beauty from across the room."

Tabby turned to her daughter who translated for her. Tabby looked up and then turned to her daughter and told the girl what to say. "You and thousands of other people. I'm taken and I'm in a serious relationship." The girl answered the man. It was clear by the woman's tone of voice that she was annoyed and wanted the man to go away.

Unfortunately for Yago, it seemed that this did not speak Spanish as he had hoped. However, that only increased his suspicion about her identity, as it was known that Tabatha Kent did not speak Spanish. When he was given the response, he sighed, though he had to admit that the most stinging part was that a child had delivered the sentence. "My mistake." he told the two, though he knew that it was the girl who would be translating. "Though may I ask if you are a Siren? It would be odd elsewise. You're really very beautiful, and my race is easily made jealous." he was attempting humor, though this woman was making it difficult. Usually, he would give up, but he was just so sure of himself, and if the princess was in this resturaunt, he would be thrilled for weeks.

"I'm half siren and my mother is human." Yvette answered the man about their family. She was answering the questions without even asking her mother. It was clear that she knew who she was more than any other girl around her age.

When it became clear that the girl would be speaking without passing along his compliments, Yago made the choice to avoid any more such flirtatious comments. Instead, he rose a brow at the girl's words. She'd confirmed what he already knew, though to have it actually said by her made it seem like his suspicions were truer than he'd expected. "Then may inquire your names? Surely lovely ladies such as yourselves have equally beautiful titles." He'd kept the flowery manner of speech, but such a way with words was common in the city, where gossip and flamboyancy was a staple of the society.
