Kishi was not comfortable in this old place. It looked it could fall over on top of her at any minute. She tried to appreciate the beauty, serenity and majesty of it, but it wasn't natural to her. It wasn't Laisidhiel.
The scariest thought however, was that she'd turn a corner and discover the nest of those little blackholes. She did not want to encounter those ever again.
"Shoot, but I have to find proof of them, I think." She thought aloud.
Coming to an entry way to what looked to be a room, or used to be a room before the far wall and ceiling fell in, Kishi took two steps inside. "Corners. I bet those lil blackhole things are like wasps. Maybe I could get an old nest or something."
She reached up to move a low-hanging vine out of her way, and a very large spider dropped down right in front of her face.
"aaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" she panicked and screamed. The shiver of fear visibly made her fur ruffle and she turned to bolt out of the room.
Who woulda thought a naturalist was afraid of spiders?
Not spiders, I thought it was a blackhole.

So he was another who had been selected as part of the council? Alistiar took a deep breath and let it out as a sigh before smiling. The fact that this other faun seemed confused about his new postion as well, soothed him at least a little. It was good o see he wasn't the only one.
"Well...nice to mee you Gulliver, I'm Alistair" he gave the other faun a smile, "I'm afraid I'm not at all sure what you do as Captian of the Rangers, I'm afriad." He laughed, then, "but it seems we're in the same boat. I'm not too sure as to what I'm supposed to be doing as a Grand Geomancer."

Thara followed the faun deeper into the temple. Silently she stalked Kishi, though she knew deep down in her heart of hearts that she could have made all the noise she wanted. The faun was loud, too loud. Her hooves clamored and echoed to an extent reminiscent of a stampede, and she talked to herself. This was too easy. The odd fae floated along behind, regardless, her wings fluttering in rapid succession, her knees bent slightly to avoid trailing her feet on the ground.
Black hole...wasps? What in Telrunya was this chick smoking? Thara would feel her right eye twitch once. Uh oh. That was not good. Was that a sign of psychosis? Had she been alone for too long? True, she should technically be more excited to see another living being; however, from past experience she knew that meant trouble. Boy, did she not need more trouble right now.
The teen followed the faun into the room. Suddenly the faun shrieked and spun on Thara, taking her completely off guard. "ACK!"
Oh s**t, did I just scream? Good job being fierce there, oh fearless leader, her brain chided her.

"She is very beautiful, Sir." Mo nodded in agreement to Rais. "I was merely marveling." he'd chuckle then nodded to the change in topic. "Yes. It's a very interesting process. Though I find it curious that you can't go find a suitable bride on your own, Sir. I thought that was half of the fun..."
He seemed a bit perplexed at the idea of a trial. "Still, I can see some sense of it. There are certain attributes that are necessary to rule over a species. It makes sense to find out which of these lovely ladies hold all those talents."

"Alistair,... nice ta meet you" Gulliver raised a single brow hearing the male to be in the same boat as himself "I see, yeah I don't know much about archers so I guess we'll see soon enough... I certainly didn't expect to be selected at all, I guess it's just the will of Laisidhiel. I wonder what a geomancer is, I've not heard of the term... I guess we'll both find out soon though" he smiled and glanced towards Rais who seemed now to be in conversation with another male and a bald female. "Least I hope it's soon, suspense would drive me batty if I had to wait for some special event like star alignment or what have you" He fingers the glowing pendant, something he often did when he was unsure or a little nervous

Amadorine reached out and carefully took the small bid into her cupped hands, holding it gently to her chest in a protective manor. "I'm sure one of the fauns there will know how to fix this little guy up. I'll make sure he's good as new, and that's a promise." She flashed Ivy a grin. "And I don't go back on promises; I have to much pride for that."
She felt her heart drop a little though at Ivy's expression as the Elder touched the crown. "Really? Where is the Fairy Queen. Could I... could I maybe convince her for another one for you?" Or was this really going to be the end of her experience?

"I want those stones b'dly!" Caleigh sighed. She was tired of being pushed around, shoved, and yelled at for something she couldn't controlled. Her nerves were on the brink of being snapped, and she was vicious when she snapped. She took a deep breath. "High M'triarch, I want just one of those stones, that's all!" she said, raised her voice just a bit higher. "I tired of people pushing me around, calling me stupid, and no good. I am good just like them! I want one of those stones. It is not for something stupid, it is for a quest I in. I cn't take it anymore!"

"I don't know about finding the Queen of the Fairies..." Ivy said as she looked at the faun, and could tell she was upset that Ivy didn't hand over the crown. She knew that the girl would only ask if it was really needed. "If you take care of the this little guy, could I maybe give you one rose?" One rose wouldn't hurt, she just couldn't bear giving the whole thing.

"Earthmother just must want to find the best match. I hold to the rituals, it's how the faun live and have lived for a very long time." Rais didn't admit that he didn't know this ritual was coming up this very night. He wasn't sure he was completely ok with it, but he stuck to what was done. He glanced back at Belvah and wondered how much longer before they knew who was going to be his wife.

Belvah was busy trying not to freak herself out with horrid thoughts of her not being good enough while she was being talked about.. Words did managed to drift their way into her hears..
Okay so it wasn't all bad.. The silvery gray female blushed, looking away from Mo. She was blushing still when Rais looked at her. She really was hoping this wife contest would be over soon. She wanted to claim the chief for herself. So the rest of the faun would know he belonged to her, not just her own thoughts.

"Well, roses or no roses, I'll be sure that this little guy gets the care that he needs. My daddy raised me right and taught me the importance of promises, so there's no worries that this bird will get the best treatment I can find." Even if it meant butt kissing, buttering up, and doing just plain hard labor to pay off whoever took over the care.
At the mention of receiving only one rose, Ama frowned a little, clearly not sure if it would be acceptable. "I was told to bring back a crown of roses..." And then a light lit up in her eyes. "What if I were to make a crown of roses with your help? I could put in a rose or two and explain that even though it's not the full crown it does have flowers from you!" It could work, and this way Ivy didn't have to part with what was clearly a treasured belonging.

Ivy nodded, now that was an idea she could work with! Ivy took one rose off her crown and set it on the ground. "I can make a few to create a crown, they won't be as shiny, as that was fairy magic." Ivy moved her hand over the ground and smiled, roses started to pop up and grow in a circle with the one from her crown in the front. She closed her eyes and asked that the flowers be as beautiful as possible for the faun to please whomever she needed to please. She opened her eyes and there was a crown of roses in reds, pinks, and a few other colors so it didn't look the same as hers, but still beautiful. "Do you think this will work?" Ivy asked and she picked it up and handed it to Ama.

The faun's jaw dropped as she watched Ivy's magic at work; it was incredible, seeing the plants move right to the other's will, and it took her a few second to regain her mind. "Y-yeah! It's gorgeous!" She took the crown with a trembling hand, still holding the bird close to her in the other one.
"Miss Ivy, thank you so much for doing this for me, I really appreciate it. I hate to run off so quickly, but there still some ceremonial stuff going on back at the Great Tree and I do need to get back." Bidding Ivy farewell, Amadorine slipped the crown onto her arm and used both hands to hold the bird close to protect him while making her way back. Her pace was much slower this time, due to her precious package, and by the time she returned to Leisidhiel she wasn't sure if she'd made it in time.
Her eyes searched the crowd quickly, locating the familiar figure of Rais. Striding up to him, she gave a nod to his company, then held up the crown of roses. "Though it's not the one that graces Ivy's head, it was made and gifted to me from her and it does have a rose in it from her own crown as well." Her attention then turned to the little bird in her hand. "I also need to find some medical attention for this bird as well; I promised Ivy I would do everything I could to take care of this little one. Cheif Rais, are there any fauns here who might be able to help?"

The High Matriarch's eyes glittered, then she let out a loud, merry laugh. "Atta' girl!" she cheered, fluttering over and ruffling Caleigh's hair as one might a small child. Considering the size difference, this was probably quite an amusing sight for those not involved. "That's the spark I was looking for."
She winked, then moved to hover some distance away. "I just wanted to make sure that you really wanted what you stated you wanted. If you were only going through the motions, or had any doubts about your quest, well...not worth my time," she waved her hand dismissively. "I wanted to see a little fire, before I let one of my precious stones go." She chuckled, snapping her fingers and sending another set of Faelings darting off. They returned shortly with a bucket between them. The Matriarch peered into the bucket, then nodded in satisfaction. "A carrying aid, dear, since being lava rocks for my sauna, they are quite hot. One should do you just fine."
"Now, before you go," she lowered her voice, sounding more like a friend about to share a secret, rather than the matriarch she was giving grand orders. "Remember what you learned here today. Even when your world seems out of your control, you still have control of yourself. Reach down, grab the strength you have inside, and seize control of your world again. No one can ever take that away from you." Then she smiled, backing away with a slight nod of her head. "Now, dearie, you go claim your prize. Take it for your own and show them all what determination can do."
She started to leave, then called back over her shoulder, "When this is all over, dear, you really should come back for a full spa treatment. I insist." It didn't sound like an invitation. Then she chuckled once more and exited, signalling that Caleigh was free to go when she wished.

Caleigh's eyes shot up wide. She thought she was going to get her butt kicked or set on fire for giving attitude to this High Matron. Instead she got her hair ruffled and was told a piece of advice. "R-r-really?" the female asked, adopting a rather shy look that was completely foreign to her. Wherever it came from, it was temporarily as it had went away soon as it had popped up.
"Oh? I'll bring a friend! Belvah loves having her nails done!" she chirped. "I got the Matron position, so I get to play match-maker and teach Rais future kiddies," she nodded. "Thank you so much!" the female said, doing a skip before she gave the high matron a hug, realizing a bit too late that she was probably squishing the poor thing. She let go and grimaced. "Sorry, I got over-excited," the spotted hyena said, giving a nod. "I come back soon!! Thank you!" she squealed.
That was the last thing she said to the High Matron before she went running out of the Healing House. She was excited, and over-joyous that she finally got one. It, however, took her a while to get back up to the tree providing all she had to do was make a trip up north and cross the bridge. The lava rock in the bucket was a bit heavy, but she did not mind that at all, keeping the High Matron's advice deep in her head.
Her feet hurts, but Caleigh kept on persisting as she crossed the bridge to the Great Tree. Only there did she marched up to Rais and set the bucket with the lava rock. "I went to get a fire element. She told me, lava rock is a fire element."
