Riley's chest lifted in a deep, satisfied sigh, as she leaned into the peck. She was proud of how well she had been taking care of her own addictions, after all.

Her eyes flickered to the newcomers to her booth, and her tentacles released Malodore slowly - no sense in scaring away the new students with too much PDA. She hopped down off the booth, offering Malodore one final hug before moving to entertain her new guests. One of which was yelling about the treatment of cannon cat plushies?

She placed her hand directly on the feline ghoul's shoulder, and tilted her head slightly.

Do not be afraid. They're not real, I promise you. As much as Riley hated cannon cats, she knew any feline student would have a particular problem with killing real cat minipets. They're just toys, for a game. Would either of you like to play?

s**t. Jordan shifted his weight and kicked back lightly to connect with Jerry's ankle, hissing out of the side of his mouth, "Cultural differences don't blow your cover Carrie," and hoped desperately that Jerry would get himself under control enough to calm back down. "Cats," he said, a little nervously, to the tentacled thing now approaching them. "You know how it is, right, hahah?"

And then there was a voice in his head. A definitely female-sounding voice, definitely not Ferros, and seeing as how the purple creature had no mouth, it - she - was undoubtedly using telepathy. He froze for a moment, trying not to let his moment of sheer panic show on his face. Could she tell?

But her voice and words weren't accusing, and she wasn't showing any signs of being able to tell that the two undead ghouls she was speaking two were impostors. Still, Jordan had to cough and clear his throat before responding. "What - ah, what kind of game?"

The world suddenly narrowed into a pin point of white light that flew past hysteria into utter denial.

He was not a buxom dead cat girl wrapped in bandages and gold clinging to a girl who couldn't keep her head on and most certainly had not just been addressed directly in his mind

And that beaked bladed thing had not casually informed him about inhumane treatment towards cats and flashed metal his way and THEY WEREN'T COMING RIGHT FOR THEM-

He was in a nice garden, with lots of lavender and there was a band playing and a gentle breeze and-

Oh, Candlejack- is that really a Mindflayer? s**t, dude, I never thought I'd see one of them in- Roar was casually babbling.

It was too late, though, Jerry's green feline eyes had rolled back in his head and the golem crumpled to the ground at Jordan's feet.

Riley stared at the pile of ghoul on the floor, and then took a cautious step back, looking both left, then right.

.. This could look bad.

I didn't do it. She rasped out quickly. I swear I didn't. Oh, Jack, was she going to get detention for mindflaying someone when she hadn't even done it?!

She looked at the headless ghoul with a gaze of innocence. I promise you, I did nothing.

Malodore blinked as the mummy crumpled to the ground. Hard. "Oh dear... are you quite well?" it sighed, moving over to kneel next to her. Feline features, interesting. It leaned in, putting one clawtip very gently on the mummy's eyelid and pulling it up to study the eye beneath.

Yep. Definitely fainted.

"Perhaps she has, ah, overextended herself?" It glanced up at the other ghoul. She had good fashion sense. It approved.

Jordan pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes for a moment. Then he had to grab at his head to keep it from toppling off. Right. Later, when they were back in their own bodies and things were sane again, on a relative scale, there was going to be a conversation about this. Now? Damage control.

He realized that the purple ghoul thing was actually looking ... nervous? Did she think that he was blaming her? Well, indirectly, yes, but ... "I know," he said, and smiled a tight, strained smile. "H - She's just - very ... excitable?" Carefully, he turned to kneel down next to the masked thing, which seemed to be examining Jerry. He hoped that the golem was sufficiently realistic to pass. "We're not from around here," he explained. "Overstimulated, I think ... "

Malodore's gaze flicked up to the ghoul's head; it caught the wobble and frowned slightly. "Loose stitches? I could help with that, if you like," it offered, politely. "A, ah, service to the community on Riley's behalf. She's running for Ruler of the World eventually, but Student Council President for right now. Excellent practice, don't you think?"

Under Malodore's grip, Jerry groaned, his voice wobbling but coherent at least, "Fish in the sea~ You know how I feel~" Alright, so maybe not so coherent but he was stirring and his eyes fluttered open, "River running free~ You know how I~" And there was a horrible metal and bone and rot and bandages and goggles bird in a red hat crouched over him, bladed hands inches from his face.

Jerry screamed.

This was completely normal. These two monstrous, horrifying creatures were unfazed; it was a mildly alarming event, but no more so than the analogous scene would be back home. Normal. Act normal. He's - she's - it's offering you a band-aid for the minor scratch on your hand. "That would be lovely," Jordan replied, relaxing into the role. "Just let me help Carrie up? She's my friend, and I promised her I'd help her out today, and I feel really bad, I've let her down."

Ferros was laughing. Again. I hate you right now, Jordan said wearily.

The scream made him jump. s**t! "Come on, Carrie - let's - come sit down for a minute," he tried, getting a firm grip on Jerry's arms.

Malodore looked thoroughly nonplussed as the mummy girl woke up. Suddenly. And noisily. "Of course. Perhaps she should not be out in such a big crowd?" it offered, as tactfully as it could manage. It was not used to being screamed at so, from such short range.

"I will be here, I think, should you wish care," it said, then retreated behind the booth.

She was eternally grateful for Malodore - up until the ghoul suddenly screamed under it's care. Had there been a slip-up? She bent down quickly, leaning in to give the ghoul her full attention.

She looked absolutely horrified - but there was no injury to have caused this. What was wrong? Riley slit her eyes, trying her very hardest to get some kind of glimpse into the mind of the ghoul in order to help her, but she simply had no power to do so. As her friend carried her off, Riley pushed herself back up to her feet, looking quite deflated.

I.. ah.. awkwardly, Riley backed up into her booth, bumping into the table and resting her hands against the smooth surface of some of the pins.

.. Don't forget to vote? She weakly murmured out as they parted ways

As though sensing the sudden tension- perhaps it could be the fit the little feline girl seemed to be overcome with, Christof quickly grabbed one of the sparkling plushies and lurched forward to shove it into the little furry ghoul's hands, praying it would shut her up.

Surprisingly, Jerry was so startled by the sudden act and stuffed animal in his hands, he did, in fact, shut up.

He blinked, boggle-eyed down at the thing as though mesmerized.

It was a tiny...

It was almost cute...

"Ahah... ah.. um..." Cover voice. "UM TH-TH-THANK YOU?" He squeaked.

"Yeah, uh, we thought it would be okay, sorry, I need to get her somewhere she can rest," Jordan said hastily, and tried to look apologetic. "Thank you - sorry - " He pulled Jerry back to his feet and steered the ersatz catgirl and the plushie away from the booth, out towards the dark and quiet outside the festival area.

Petro had taken his time in wandering through the booths before he finally managed to make it to the mindflayer's. He hadn't been enrolled yet during the first student council elections and had missed the earlier booths and shenanigans involved so he wasn't certain what to expect. Then again, the concept of elections was still relatively new to the monster horse, having been raised to accept that if someone was more qualified for the job, they would get it.

Spotting Riley and Christof, the horse boil briefly glimpsed some other students leaving the area. "Hey y'," he greeted both the patchwork and the demoness. He gave the retreating plague doctor a nod as well, despite being unfamiliar with it apart from seeing it on the Island.

Feeling a bit dejected from his bad luck streak, Marosa wandered into the booth and glanced around, perking up slightly at the possibility of a game.

He glanced around to see if there was anyone present, and immediately took in a familiar boil he'd seen at the last place he'd been. He slowly made his way over, taking care to keep just enough distance between him and the other.

He gave a slight wave to Petro.
