Inu-Mitsu

PostPosted: Sat Jun 25, 2011 1:55 pm

Mitsu had wanted to do what Shun said. She wanted to relax, she wanted that very much..but she had certainly overestimated her ability to handle a crowd. With a bit of a sigh she made her way over to the food table with the reaper eyes sweeping over the expansive display. The Prom committee had certain gone all out on making food!

The lupine did her best not to move far from Shun, grabbing a plate to pick up some food items, but it seemed something would always catch her eye taking her further and further down the table. What should she choose first? There were so many things. The thing that caught her eye the most though was the desserts, the wolf girl had a weakness for sugar.

Once she had a plate of a few random things Mitsu made her way back to Shun waiting for him to get what he wanted. Her eyes in the mean time traveled over to the table watching the others as they continued about dancing or getting food themselves. The dancing looked so fun, Mitsu wished she could join in.

Once they were at the food table, Shun looked it over briefly before grabbing a plate. There certainly was a nice array of different things, though he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the number of meat entrees there were. That didn't bother him, but it was kind of amusing in a way he supposed.

After giving everything a look, he went on and picked out a few things here and there. Some fish, some noodles, and a couple other things. He also grabbed a cookie for later on.

Once he had his things, he glanced over at Mitsu to see what she had picked out. He noticed her gaze lingering over towards the dance floor where a few people were dancing. Some of the people included the ones they were hanging around a few moments ago. The song had changed, as per requested by Lizzy it seemed.

The reaper didn't think much of any of this and grabbed some utensils for both himself and the wolf girl.

"Ready to head back?" he asked.

The ghoul was on the dance floor. What to do now? As Jericho tried to awkwardly handle the tatzel, Levi in turn wasn't quite sure of what to do at first either. Sure, she'd danced with her Pa when she was just a wee tatzel but that wasn't much to go by.

Let's dance a part of her whispered in her mind.

Levi took up the reigns with a heavy sigh. It was a sigh directed at her own situation and not at the dragon boil who'd just been trying to act gentlemanly given the situation (or at least that was her interpretation). She gingerly took Jericho's hands and placed them at her waist. Then, she placed her own hands over his shoulders and began to sway her hips a bit in tune to the music. Hopefully, the red dragon could keep up with her pace...

...the ghoul had rhythm. Ya'll right now, Jericho?

Pulling her gaze from the dance floor Mitsu looked toward Shun and gave a slight nod. "Y..yeah I'm ready." The food had been a pretty good distraction, she didn't seem as flustered at the moment.

Taking her plate, Mitsu made her way back to the table the group they had been with was sitting out. Taking a seat she started to eye her items trying to figure out what to try first. She had grabbed a variety of things mostly meat items though she had grabbed a piece of cake too. Couldn't resist the cake.

"All the food looks so good," Mitsu seemed in awe, her eyes wide and excited. This would no doubt be the tastiest thing she'd had in a very long time.

Perfect! His bait had worked. He smirked, which soon turned to a pleased grin. "It is on, Levi." He said devilishly. He was not a mean boil, but he did know how to pretend too be to get his friends to step out of their shells, apparently.

He hit the dance floor with his partner, taking her hand and placing his other hand on her hip. Ah the slow dance~ Nothing to it!

Ash knew it wouldn't last long but sometimes the slower songs were so... boring. She preferred things more upbeat. Something with a tempo that she could move and groove to. As it was she was even more at a loss for anything interesting to do because she was stuck behind the booth. She couldn't even ask Sparrow for a dance back here.

With a sigh the banshee shuffled around behind the crescent booth, poking around idly. Maybe if she glanced out on the dance floor at all the people not dancing she could will them to come over and talk with her. Aislin was distracted momentarily when she felt a little tug at the back of her dress, whipping around immediately in preparation to seriously yell at who ever would yank at something so delicate. Before she could register much, though, someone very short shoved a note in her hands before retreating, muttering something about disgruntled postal service workers.

She opened the paper and realized it was a request. She went about setting up the next song to play, falling back into idle boredom when that task was finished.

Jericho's skills with dancing were shown in a pretty obvious manner as his movements were incredibly awkward compared to Levi's. Damn she could dance! The boy was having some trouble keeping up with her and even stumbled here and there as a result. But at the very least she was controlling most of the movement so he was doing his best to not falling over for the both of them.

He at least was able to use his wings to help keep him balanced.

"Uh.. yeah. I guess so. You're really good at this," he said, "Sorry I'm.. not really used to dancing."

---

Once they had come back to the table, Shun glanced at the two existing plates there. This school was full of straight up carnivores wasn't it? Shaking his head to himself, he took a seat and looked over his plate.

"It does," he agreed with Mitsu before trying some of the noodles. They were rather well made.

"Seems like we have some good chefs for peers."

"Natural." Vaith repeated, knowing that his defnition of "natural" was something along the lines of sitting in a chair for the rest of the evening, enjoying the festivities from .. Well, a lazy position. But either way-- Xiu's hopes of everyone having fun looked as if it would come true. Vaith would find some sort of fun, whether he was in or out of that chair.

Speaking of smiling and snapping photos .. Vaith's frown deepened as he realized something incredibly important.

"If you take pictures the whole prom, you're not going to have any photos of yourself." With an experience that betrayed his manner and demeanor, Vaith's hands smoothly encircled Xiu's neck to lift the fabric that held the camera around her neck. He bent low to accomodate the shorter demoness, one hand holding the camera at a height that could take an image of them both. Somehow, Vaith knew exactly what angle to take the picture from because if Xiu looked through the camera, it'd turn out to be a pretty nice picture.

"Click!"

Vaith still wasn't quite smiling.

"There. You've got me in my tux and yourself in a dress. You hungry yet?"

Tomoko waved after Ren as he took his leave, beaming like an idiot. It was fortunate she wasn't the type of creature to be in a group and suddenly flail like a moron. Well, it wasn't beyond her to flail like a moron, but she was doing well to not panic in a packed room.

The kitsune squeezed Jove's hand as they headed off to search out some of their other friends, practically bouncing at the boil's side. If nothing else, she was enjoying the black lights and how it made her hair give off the barest illumination (perhaps that was natural, however).

Her own tails began to wag as she spotted Junko and Seiji dancing, squealing more. It was likely Junko and Tomoko would resume squealing and waving their arms and spewing japanese at each other out of excitement. The two did have a lot of enthusiasm between them. It may have been a ghoul thing, though.

"Are you going to dance, Jove-kun?" she inquired, looking at the boil with a light tilt of her head.

=====

She had to try and not make a face at the slight..spray from Christof's lisp. It wasn't like the hunchback intended it to be so difficult to speak. In fact, she hadn't actually been expecting him to talk. So there had been shock. Lots of shock.

More convenient than that chalkboard of his, however, so perhaps it was for the better.

"Oh..I... I wouldn't know..I ..didn't go to the last dance.." she admitted. Shehk hadn't actually felt left out for not going to the valentine's dance either...but part of her wondered if she was at prom to simply be bitter. It was quite possibly she was being bitter. Entirely bitter. Actually yes. She was being bitter.

She wanted Nuk to see her there with another guy and be jealous. Because being jealous was enough proof to her that he still cared in some sort of twisted way.

"Thank you.." she said, taking the package, but seeming to pause before realizing she needed to open it. That was right! People put things in wrapping and stuff, didn't they?? She was..used to squirrels...on the doorstep...as was.

Hmmm.

She argued with the twine a bit, pulling it apart carefully before giving significantly less care to the brown paper, finding a seam to rip it at and pulling it apart... Better than children at a birthday party, however.

Christof beamed at her hopefully, still twisting his tie between his mismatched hands as the present was revealed...

it was... almost a corsage. Sort of. the center was a spare Lepus skull, not quite a squirrel skull, but small enough to fit on her wrist, decorated by carefully snipped (and dulled with a file) flower petals made of tin flashing. One had to hope he hadn't stolen or borrowed the flashing from one of the school building roofs, but regardless, it shined in the swishing lights of the auditorium. A soft leather band had been attached, the straps tied into a bow on either side, and a padding underneath the skull and metal hot glued into place so she wouldn't be uncomfortable wearing it.

His smile twitched at the edges, "Er... w-want me to er... um... try to ah... p-p-put it on you?"

"You're as great a slow dancer as when you were dancing to a fast paced song," She complimented Mot, a faint blush on her cheeks as she smiled fondly at him before turning to look at their 'opponents'; Levi was doing well, but Jericho not as much. She giggled, gently nudging for Mot to move towards the other dancing couple.

"Mr Jericho, you did better in Scarentine," She teased before turning to look at Levi, beaming at the ghoul, "You're a great dancer! I'm impressed with your skills in this dance off!" She nodded before pausing; the song was coming to an end although she wanted to dance to it more. It was a nice, slow song and meaningful too! Then again, she was biased.

"Shall we stop for now and commerce round 2 later?"
PostPosted: Sat Jun 25, 2011 2:45 pm

She had almost immediately responded with 'it looks delicious', but bitten her lip, instead taking a moment to turn the 'corsage' in her hand in a sense of admiration. "This is really impressive.." She said with a sort of awe, running her fingers around the edges of the metallic flowers.

There was a moment, before she looked up at the hunchback; "Did you make this?" she asked, "It's beautiful..."

Even if she couldn't eat it.

She smiled back at him, before offering it back to him.

"Yes! Yes! Please!" She seemed earnest, offering him one of her wrists at the same time, tail wagging a bit.

Enoh Love

She was late. So horribly, horribly, horribly late. Maritess would have been wringing her hands in consternation and having a conniption and just being herself (but multiplied by like a fifty million times) were it not for the two boxes she was carrying. Arriving at the door, she tried her best to smoothen her hair, frowning that it was no longer in an updo, which she'd spent so much time on. Though she tried her best to look dignified and "fashionably late", it was obvious from the stray strands of thread from her red and black dress' hem, the pinch-marks and litte scrapes from sharply manicured nails where her skin showed that Tess had better days. Spotting the tikbalang friend of Lizzy's Tess just gave him a quick nod before she flew in to apologize ten million times to her date for making him wait.

Petro had given the winged ghoul an equally quick nod before he once again set to waiting by the door. In each hand her held a boquet of flowers, one full of bright yellow blooms, the other a combination of red and black roses. From what he'd learned on Groanspring, he was expected to present the two ghouls he would be escorting to Prom with flowers and a corsage. Truthfully, the corsages were something he'd gotten help with.

He was dressed in the elegant and surprisingly comfortable black jacket Riley's tailor provided and the special bahag his mother had sent. Back squared, polished metal bracers on his arms and wrists every so often glinting from the light when he moved, brown eyes alert for either ghoul. He'd hoped they hadn't already gone inside but if they had, he was going to have to make sure to make it up to them for making them wait.

The Igor flushed, but the smile stabilized in relief at least and he reached forward to gingerly attempt to tie it in a bow. "Ah... y-yeth, I um... didn't hawe the heart-" courage, really, " To athk for um. Money from Mithtreth tho I um... well, I uthually end up making my own thingth anyway tho I thought um..." His claw got stuck in the bow, and he had to give it a tug to free it before tightening it more gently around her pale wrist.

His heart was racing. He WANTED her to be happy, she was a friend, after all, but he couldn't help but shake the feeling even if he did like her like her... well...

He knew how that movie they had watched ended.

The hunchback never got the girl.

Besides, what he had in mind for whatever girl he managed to snag... he wasn't entirely sure he wanted to do that to Shehk.

It wasn't until she noticed that Vaith had the camera pointed at them that Xiu realized what the reaper was doing. Fortunately, instead of having her blank, confused look captured, she managed to put on a smile just in time for the picture.

It didn't really matter that Vaith wasn't smiling, because Xiu was probably smiling enough for the both of them. "Thanks, Vaith! I knew I was forgetting somebody." She laughed, looking a little embarrassed. The Baku was so caught up in taking pictures of her friends that she forgot that...well, she kind of wanted to be in some of them. Ah well, she would amend that later in the evening, or even at the end of prom. If she could help it, she was going to drag everyone in for a big picture.

"Well, some snacks wouldn't hurt. I do crave something sweet." But then again, she was always craving something sweet. Her sweet tooth probably played a part in her dream-eating habits too--there was a reason good dreams were called "sweet".

"Besides," she continued, "I'd like to see how everyone is liking the food!" The ghoul paused then when the song suddenly switched, and a grin pulled at her lips upon learning it had been requested by Lizzy. A dedication to her friends, was it? That was just like the sweet spider demoness!
