Mihira held up her spear at an approaching soldier and gulped when she saw that he obviously was not listening to her. "Eeeeyah!" She closed her eyes and then thrust out her spear. When she didn't make any contact with anything, she opened her eyes blankly and saw that the soldier was on the ground bleeding from a neck wound. Mihira blinked in confusion and looked around and spotted the raven laguz darting off towards the next foe. "Um... thanks..."

Mihira turned back to Darius and saw that the wyvern was getting to its feet. "Ah! Are you.. alright? You can move?" The wyvern grunted and wavered, but managed to stand straight and stretch its wings. "Thank goodness..." Mihira gave him a hug and then got back atop him. She then looked around and saw that the Estarcian commander was being attacked. So many horsemen would be hard even for such a strong warrior! "Come on, Darius, let's go help him!"

She whipped the reigns, and the wyvern leaped forward. He couldn't really fly well, because of his injuries, but he could glide. As the first two cavaliers passed Horatio, Darius grabbed one of them in his mouth and clamped down as Mihira speared the other off its horse. Darius roared as another cavalier with an axe was coming. Mihira looked up ahead and saw the paladin heading for the officer. "Look out! Ahead of you!"

Horatio
▫ ▪Altiplos Warrior▪ ▫

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Horatio's fellowship split up, and the warrior thought he could hold his own against the enemy reinforcements. He figured out, however, that maybe it wasn't a wise decision on his part to try and take on so many horsemen at a time. He might have gotten away from the paladin with the dreaded axereaver, but the others were coming in fast.

There would be no way he could hold them all off and hope to save Chince, but he was going to try anyway. Keeping the grip on his hammer steady, he grinned to hide just how nervous the overwhelming odds of this battle made him. "Come on, make my day." He said out loud, holding up his mask of confidence. The redhead was prepared to live up to the fiery reputation all warriors from Altiplos were known for, even if it was a risky move. For some reason, the pull of war itself overtook him, and even the promise he made to Cyric seemed to be forgotten as the all-familiar feeling of an adrenaline rush guided his movements to the pull of battle.

Horatio made his first swing to knock a spear-wielding cavalier off his horse. He went to swing at another, but his sword-wielding opponent was far too fast to be hit by the warrior's slow movement. The cavalier wielding the steel sword was just about to have a jab at him, when suddenly a sickening crunch sounded and the enemy screamed. Horatio gasped, taking a look up at the wyvern and its rider that landed nearby. He didn't even see them coming! Where did they come from?

Before he could start asking questions though, the rider gave him the alert that the enemy was on their way. Just in time, he managed to side-step the paladin's blow. "Thanks for helping me out, sky rider! We'll have to keep on our toes! Mordache's mounted troops are nothing to take lightly." He only wish he would have taken his own advice, or he wouldn't be in such trouble. Facing the direction that would be Mihira and Darius's blind spots, he launched forward, smacking another cavalier with his hammer. If they watched each other's backs, there was a chance they each might make it. There was still a chance he'd see King Cyric again.

- Kierkess Renvald -

Kierkess, his body and mind fired up from the heat of the moment, sidestepped the oncoming lance slightly by grabbing the part right under the blade and shoving the entire thing away. He had barely even lost any momentum when the admittedly imposing knight had blocked his unskilled lance thrust. Still, Kierkess was a (reckless) wrecking machine when he allowed his anger issues to run unchecked over the battlefield. He was pissed the hell off for the prison thing, naturally, but also for the fact that out of the three blasted weapons in that famous triangle he could have come across, he got the one he couldn't use.User Image

Not particularly caring if what he was doing was stupid, Kierkess rammed the knight head-on and wrestled the soldier to the ground as he pulled at the lance the other man was trying to bring up to impale the frenzied red knight with. In response, Kierkess let go of the weapon in his own hand and thrust his open palm right at the armored knight's face plate, effectively holding him down and surprising the person with the sheer unexpectedness of it all. He then took the opportunity to snatch the lance away from the soldier's hand and stood up, kicking away his own that he'd dropped seconds ago just so that the guy didn't get any ideas. Holding the lance now at the subdued knight's head, Kierkess called out behind him without taking his eyes off the person. "Could someone do me a favor and take this fool's helmet off? I'd like to spear him through the face without that pesky armor in the way." Even though he said this, Kierkess kneeled down as the heavily armored knight began to struggle and found that the helmet the man wore had just enough room for a weapon to go through...

"Ah, never mind," he murmured, forcing the pointed spear into the opening before the downed soldier could put up too much of a fuss. Again he'd wrestled the weapon away from an opponent and again he'd executed said opponent with their own weapon...he was starting to feel quite good about himself at this point. Stepping off the stilled armor knight, he frisked the corpse briefly and found a keyring attached to the waistline. Smiling at it, he straightened himself up and fitted it into the doorway. After a few moments of trying different keys, he threw open the entrance of the storeroom and looked back at the group accompanying him, waiting for them to come in as well.

After the man had unlocked the door to his cell he did what he believed was the smart thing to do during this whole mess. He stayed inside his cell and waited for the fight to subside before he opened the door and walked out unscathed. Once the fight had finally subsided he opened the cell and walked into the hall and stretched a bit. "you guys sure took your time with this mess," he whispered as he looked around at the dead bodies on the floor that the warriors had taken out. He was sure there was a dark mage somewhere and if he were to continue on he'd need a weapon.

Eventually he came upon the shaman's dead body and spotted a tome near the corpse. "I'll be taking that," he said as he picked up the tome and opened the pages. He grinned as he identified it to be a flux tome. This will do fine for him now that he can fend enemies off. With that he closed the tome with satisfaction and followed the group as the continued down the hall.

As the group continued down the hall, in the distance were torches lit. Eventually they got close enough to see that it was a knight guarding a door. "That room might have my summoning tome," he thought. With that thought, Kione quickly slid to the front of the group. "I'll take care of this, he said to anyone around him as he walked past the group and closer to the knight. He soon stopped once he felt he was at a good enough distance from the knight.

"You! You're in my ******* way and I can't let you live for that!" he yelled at the knight as he pointed at the knight with the tome opened in one hand. The knight caught sight of the summoner and began it's charge at him. During this Kione quickly began to whisper the incantation written on the pages. Within his other hand a black orb began to form as he kept reading. Once he finished the incantation he looked at the knight that had almost reached him and let out a maniacal laugh. The magic from his hand bursted and then engulfed the knight instantly killing him.

With that he strolled over to the knight's dead body and spotted what he wanted, the door key. He took it from the knight and continued strolling over to the door it was guarding and unlocked it. Inside he saw chests inside which he assumed held their belongings. He turned back around towards the group and yelled. "It looks like they might be holding some of our gear in here!" After letting the group know, he went in to check if his summoning tome was inside.

Without knowing I'm alone underneath this moonlight
I've got a feeling that fragile things are being moved far off
By the power of always believing you'll be near me

I called out only your name

Inside this light...
On nights where it's like I can't catch hold of anything
There isn't a day I don't think about it

-Cyric-

Cyric lead the group down the hallways toward the north. At least toward where that sage had pointed to earlier. If what she said was true, then it was likely they all could retrieve their weapons so it wasn't just a few of them fending off the soldiers that kept coming. The king himself had taken the liberty of knocking down a few soldiers that got in the way, with the help of that cat laguz of course. He skidded to a stop, noticing a large armored knight standing in front of a door. Behind that..could it be..? Just before Cyric could take another step toward that soldier, it seems the summoner wanted a go at it. He hesitated for a moment, but slowly stepped back as the summoner..Kione...was it? Took this chance to completely obliderate the knight....he never stood a chance.

For a moment there, Cyric actually felt sorry for the poor man...only for a moment before he ran through the door where there were a few chest. There was no way to determine which had his items. There were three chest...the king knelt down to the chest that was closer to him and threw it open. Not his weapon, instead it was..a black book? Cyric couldn't tell..but perhaps it belonged to that summoner. "Hey" he called, picking up the book as he casually tossed it to Kione before moving to the center chest. He threw it open once more and there with a full quiver..was his double bow..the one he dropped otuside.

If anybody took a look at the king's face right now, they could see just how relieved he was to see that they didn't damage it too bad. However, this just meant that he was going to get serious...I mean...really serious. Mordache has pushed his last buttons..so how about a little pay-back, hm?

Cyric stood up, turning to face the group, confidence returned. "Gather your things in this room and the next, I have an iron spear here that I will have no more use for. Use it as you see fit. Those of you capable of fighting, retaliate, those who are not, keep to the back and simply give us support." He paused, listening to the noise in the hallways. The enemy was coming at them again. "Quickly!" Cyric demanded as he pushed through the crowd, straping his quiver to his side, double bow in his left hand and ready to combat anybody.

The wind sage had quietly followed behind everybody. She tried her best not to get in anyone's way. After all, there were only a few people who had weapons and were capable of fighting..at least..that was until the King himself and that summoner joined the frey. There were still no sign of a weapon for her to use and--Oh great, armored soldier in front of a door that possibly had their stuff. However, that was taken care of in a split second. The summoner volunteered to get rid of him and boy did that pent up rage kill that poor guy off in a heartbeat. The King, summoner and herself went into the room. In this room, there were three chest. Cyric ran to open the other two chest, leaving Venetia with the far chest on the right.

She knelt down in front of it, creaked open the chest a bit before throwing it completly open. Venetia picked up the item and ever so happily held it over her head. Now that you have the elwind tome, lets kick some serious a**, shall we? No more being helpless at the very least, now this wind sage can show she's not useless.

((Obviously I played something a little too much this past week. Don't judge me XD. ))

Quentin raised an eyebrow at the outburst from this foe. He was speaking in riddles, even though he was a soldier. Was he smarter than a normal soldier? No, wait...

He just told Quentin he was planning on attacking!

Fighting the urge to start calling Sergeant Tanner something less appropriate, Quentin hunched over and laughed as the sudden whine of the javelin barely missed him overhead. "Hahahaha! Oh, oh dear! What kind of fighter are you, announcing that you're going to attack, especially at a blind man? You're less of a Sergeant Tanner and more like...Captain Obvious!"

Suppressing his laughter, Quentin stood back up, only to have Tanner's words hit a nerve. "H-H-Half-breed?! Why, I never! You, sir, have never even met a man of my noble heritage! My family has been serving Estarcia for generations as aristocrats, nobles, generals...to have you call me a half-breed is an insult beyond comparison, you, you...quarter-breed! Have at you!"

With that, Quentin charged forward, ready to slash at the first opportunity.

One of the soldiers took the spear, while others rushed into the storeroom to arm themselves. They didn't know who the man was that was rallying them, but his words and demeanor compelled them somehow.

The knight that was on the ground with the cat was struggling to keep the beast back. His armor was thick, but his movement limited and there was no easy way to get himself back on his feet. One knight ran out to help.

The other knights took a step forward towards the cat, but stopped as they saw an elegant man holding a bow approaching. Others were with him and it was obvious that they could get quickly overwhelmed. They lifted their shields and acted as a human wall as they awaited their opponents to come to them.

User Image The cavalier with the axe reared upward as the wyvern roared and the rider diverted its path around. The paladin had also missed the Estarcian and so swung at the wyvern as it circled about to once more swing at the warrior. The man could dodge all he wanted, the paladin still had the upper hand and would just keep coming back. His attack on the wyvern rider also surely distracted her enough so that the last cavalier would have enough time to head back and chop at the flying beast.

"What did you- I did not announce-!" Though baffled, the blind man's taunts proved to anger Tanner more. And then he got more confused and was just plain irritated. "Quarter- what?! I was talkin' to the bird- nevermind!!" After glancing at the raven, Tanner focused back on the blind man and blocked the slash with his lance. He shoved the blade away and then prepared to block the other blade with the other end of his lance.

You may call me useless for the fact that I am learning swordsmanship with my left arm

Well, even without Lena's help, it seemed they were able to take that knight out. That was good for them. He moved over to that store room, and took a look inside. "All right, go collect what you need. If you see any useful weapons take them, since the other group may need them." He said, grabbing a couple keys from Kierkess and unlocking a couple chests as well.

Kierkess had his axe, and there were a couple other items they had gotten as well. Things were looking good, so they left the store room and continued in the direction they had been going. It wasn't long before they could hear the sounds of a fight, and of course see some dark mages in the area. "Well, seems we have a welcome party. I'm sure you guys know what to do. Take out the enemy quickly and avoid getting hurt."

I say that this is just another challenge for me to overcome while my arm is recovering

- Kierkess Renvald -

Kierkess nodded and sped off to see if his beloved axe was in the room. He was getting sick of lance-wielding and punching soldiers. Sure, the latter was fun, but sooner or later he'd get someone who could punch back. "Aha!" cried Kierkess, seeing his beautiful halberd in a weapons container. He could tell it was his by the way it shone out among all the generic weapons that sat in the background of this horribly plain storage area!...Well, and he had his name on it. User Image

Before grabbing it and running out of the room to begin his quest for the jailer's head, Kierkess vaguely recalled the swordsman fellow's request for more weaponry for the others and snatched a couple of swords lying nearby. With a poleaxe in one hand and pilfered blades in the other, Kierkess exited the storeroom and shoved the blades into the nearest guy's hands. He was quite ready to go, as likely anyone could tell just by looking at him. Ziaram came soon after, moving the group forward right into the waiting arms of a unit of knights.

Now, Kierkess was all for chopping up enemies, but dark magic was something he wasn't quite familiar with dealing with...and he could see clearly that barrier behind them. Sure he would be a bit more gung-ho if he were on horseback, but for now he was pretty confined to his feet. "Uh. Hey, light guy, how about some cover?" he asked, looking towards the Monk that had somehow missed his earlier shot.

(Sorry for the wait and the crappiness of this post. The last of my Finals are on Monday and things have been crazy at school.)

Verruckt looked over when the angry red armored guy, who until recently had been using a lance or his fists to kill soldiers, said something about light magic and covers. "Of course my light magic tome has a protective cover. Only an idiot doesn't do that sort of thing! I don't think this conversation is terribly appropriate considering our situation. We have more important things to do besides discussing the merits of protective covers on spell tomes!" At that moment a javelin flew right past his nose and, showing his cat-like reflexes, he jumped backwards after the javelin was already past him. Shouting an incantation he pointed a finger at one of the knights and a beam of light lanced from just beyond his finger and struck the knight in the middle of his chest. The knight was sent flying backwards a few feet and landed on his back. "Stupid knights thinking their armor can protect them. Pshh! Fools!"

-Cyric-

It took only a moment for the King to thoroughly plan out their escape route. There were soldiers coming from behind them, not often as they were before, but there was also a wall of army blocking their way to what seems like the exit. Cyric raised an eyebrow, taking into consideration the weakened soldier he had with him including Learania's people...

First and foremost, the knight that was on the ground. Before he could say anymore, it seems the cat had gotten to him before hand. No matter, Cyric drew an arrow and just as he raised his bow, the human wall raised their shield. This didn't stop him, he quickly scanned around and released the bowstring, letting one sail through the air. It struck a soldier, one that was toward the center in the thigh area. A shame that it didn't struck him in the knee. Without much delay, the King let out a small 'tweet' as a signal for the others.

He let another arrow fly, not particularly aiming anywhere this time but only to allow an enemy to be thrown off-guard as it hit the center of his helmet and bounced off.

"Don't rush in! Our supplies are low, but don't attack recklessly!" Cyric knew how some of these soldiers operated and a majority of them would charge in head first, not caring how their life ended up. However, things were different, they're in Cyric's hands and by damn will he do what he can just to bring them back alive. He stood still for a moment, looking for an opening in the small war zone crowd. Obviously, they weren't doing so well but at least they had support from Learania's people as well. The king drew another bow, flicked it in between his fingers and nock'd it on his bow. A few seconds to breath in and the arrow flew quickly through the air, piercing a Mordachean soldier through the helmet, killing him dead on the spot. Once cleared, Cyric took the lead once more.

Clara had noticed that the soldiers were getting more defensive. With the line of armor and the barrier the myrmidon need to attack with a bit more planning and caution. She then saw one Cyric's arrows fly and hit a soldier.

Clara was just about to charge in when she heard Cyric say to not rush in. She quickly looked for a spot to go for a charge and headed forward.

Quentin was starting to get irritated at the constant mention of airbourne creatues. "What is wrong with all you people? First one of the ladies were talking about a flying person, and then you start talking to birds!"

As their swords clashed, Quentin snarled. "Has everyone lost their minds? People don't fly, birds don't talk."

Sparks flying, Quentin had somehow managed to close the gap between the two of them. No longer was it a fight between two long weapons (although Quentin still wasn't sure he was actually fighting a long weapon), as the close quarters combat he was engaged in made his weapon more unwieldy.

At first Quentin was going to strike with the other end of Mortymer, but decided against it. Now that they were this close, he figured he could change stance yet again. Instead of just striking with the other end, Quentin quickly pull a tiny lever on his weapon, and a distinct 'click' was heard from the handle. With a quick thrust downwards with his wrist, the bottom end of Mortymer disconnected, splitting the handle in two, leaving each hand with one half of the weapon. The top half still in contact with Tanner's lance, Quentin spun around as he tried to strike with his now newly attained one-handed sword, hoping the angle would become too awkward for the Sergeant to parry..

Velkan hissed, snarled, bit, clawed and spit at the unfortunate Knight underneath him as if the poor man was a can of anchivoes. The cat didn't know about the knight behind him charging towards him, so intense was his focus on killing the man beneath him. Velkan's claws finally penatrated the thick armour leaving a line of deep scars in the metal. A little more and he'd be through to kill the human hiding inside.

"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET IT OFF OF ME." Screamed the terrified man beneath him at his comrade, the knight who'd rushed out to help him was directly behind Velkan, the cat was still unaware of his prescance as the knight hefted his spear preparing to run him through.

It was at that moment that three things happened in quick succession, first there was a thunk sound as the man behind him took an arrow to the face causing the weapon that had been about to take Velkan's life to drop from dead fingers, second Velkan's transformation bar ran out and the knight who was underneath him breathed a sigh of relief (his mood had gone from panic to relief to back to panic to relief again,) as he found not a big cat trying to get through his armour sitting on his chest but instead a very surprised Velkan nomming on his helmet. Thirdly, the dead man behind Velkan became the dead man on top of Velkan, both Velkan and the knight who was underneath him let out shouts of surprise as the dead guy pinned Velkan's body to the unlucky gaurd.

Velkan tried to squirm his way out of this awkward sandwich but found himself to do little more then flail his left leg and twitch his tail a bit, it was even worse for the still living knight who found himself unable to move at all. The two had ended up with their faces close enough to kiss.

It was quite awkward since the pair had been trying to kill eachother not five minutes ago.

"So uhhh... come here often?" Velkan asked trying to break the ******** you, monster!"

"Well that's not very nice" Velkan responded and then bit the man on the nose.
