After a ridiculously long and particularly sweaty boat ride (though she supposed it must have been more so for those rowing) Katherine finally set foot on dry land. Well, relatively dry as the fine white sand below the tideline was rather damp under her booted heel.

Taking a deep breath and ignoring the grunting of the men heaving the wooden boat up the beach, the captain surveyed the island they had landed on. The long stretch of pale sand curving around the bay, the thickly forested hills giving way to twin peaks and the clear blue water stretching just around the horizon combined to form a disgustingly picturesque view. No doubt there would be clean water and an orchard just over the next hill, swarming with wild pigs.

Katherine rolled her eyes and turned back to her crew. "You, you and you. Go that way. The rest of you go that way." She made a single sweeping gesture and revelled in the confusion that followed. After picking a direction for herself, she grabbed her nearest officer (the master-at-arms) and headed off to find something fresh to eat.

Rachel gets grabbed by the captain, "what the..." she says to herself as she follows the captain, not knowing what the captain was looking for. She realized that Gabriel wasn't given any job to do, but she was sure he wouldn't mind, it was a great time for him to explore the beach.

Rachel, still following asks, "What are we searching for Captain?" She felt as if she should know why they were going alone in a different direction than most of the other crew.

" You'd better hurry, Mr. Morgan. " Jamie's soft voice sounded behind the male as she hopped out of the boat, almost knee deep in the water due to her her shortness compared to Nicolas. She then made her way past him and to the shore, her heels slightly sinking in the sand. That was the most difficult thing to conquer; walking in the sand in heels.

Securing her footing and glancing towards the Captain, Jamie Gallows paused. It didn't seem as though any particular orders where given and so she looked towards the vines, large trees and brush that beckoned her towards the jungle ahead. The curvy woman turned, looking to Nicolas once more with a half smile. "Or I'm going to get all the gold before you. " Her light blue eyes lingered on him momentarily before she turned, skirt twirling upwards, and made her way deeper into the unknown island.

Surely she needed the gold. She only had what the past had given her. And that was little. She needed new clothing. Anything a bit more suitable for movement or perhaps storage. Jamie hopped over a tree stump, glancing to the abundance of forgein vegetation. Keeping her ears open and aware she ventured forward, neither worried nor caring for the rest of the crew.

Gabriel, and the monkey who happend to hitch a ride on his head, grab one of the ships for a moment, remembering he forgot something important on the ship, he climbs the rope ladder and gets on the deck to see Mr. Graves coming out of the Captains Quarters.

"Hey!" he yells out, "What were you doing in the Captain's quarters?" Gabriel looks at the man curiously, His hands at his hips allowing him to grab his dagger if need be. He awaits the man's responce, since Gabriel thinks of Katherine as an type of aunt.

Katherine turned now to smirk at the officer she'd brought with her. The girl looked strong enough.

"We are not looking for anything. I am going to sit under this tree and you are going to bring me whatever fruit this godforsaken island has to offer. If any angry natives come, you're going wave that big shiny sword and scare them off."

With that, the captain took off her sea worn coat and settled under said tree. The skimpy corset and scrap of shirt left offered little protection from the sun or wandering eyes, but Katherine was not the kind to be concerned by either. With a contented sigh, she leaned back to enjoy a moment of time away from the demands of command.

Having no real knowledge of what might be out there john had opted to stay aboard the ship, after all there was nothing worth doing on an island and he was starting to get used to being the ships cook. Besides his position kept him away from most of the crew and thier hormonal urges.

Wandering up onto the deck he spotted Johnathan he headed over to the other man walkign slowly so as not to appear as if he was barging into the conversation that was already in progress.
