The Striped Punnet Family

Owners - GunSniper (Father)
Hoshi Lockhart (Mother)
Zakiax (First son)
Thalion (Second son)
Names - Acanthus (Father)
Hulda (Mother)
Torque (First son)
Kobian (Second son)
Personalities - Acanthus: Acanthus is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Or at least acts it. He prefers the horses around him to always be in a good mood and does his best to get a laugh out of anyone he is near. Unlike the rest of his herd he has an appreciation of the land dwellers and likes to watch them accomplish what he cannot. It's a change in scenery. Acanthus hates things to be dull and would prefer if the world were always changing for the better. When things don't change in a positive way or he is confronted with negativity he tends to become more of a fool in an attempt to make things better.

Hulda - A rather stubborn mare, Hulda has a small rebellious streak that comes out when people of authority over her tell her she can't do something. Like in the case of her parents telling her not to go see anyone from the other herd near where her own herd lived. To her, there was nothing wrong with what she was doing. The little colt she met never harmed her, so she didn't understand what her family was trying to tell her. So what if there were stories surrounding his herd? Hulda was the kind who needed to see things with her own eyes before she'd form an opinion about it. And God help you if you try to sway her opinion. Or you'll find a brick wall in the shape of a horse blocking your path and not listening to a word.
Never one to be very brave, where Hulda is being stubborn is the only time she has any courage. She has a habit of, when things go terribly wrong beyond her control, running away from it and hiding until it's over. She was never one to be very good at confrontations and preferred to be in the back, far away from it. Her stubbornness is merely a little bit stronger than her skittish nature.

Torque - Torque tries to be humorous yet most of his 'jokes' tend to backfire on him. Often times he will hid his true self by being cruel to others, hence where most of his 'jokes' come to play. Yet beneath all of this he's quite kind and strong-willed. He's willing to put himself at risk to protect those he love as well as his own beliefs.

Kobian - Kobian is soft-spoken and solitary. He cares for his family, but he tends to keep to himself more often than not. He's thoughtful and inquisitive, but he rarely shares his thoughts with anyone else. Most see him as brooding and unfriendly.

And a little RP -
What does this couple enjoy doing together? Acanthus and Hulda both like to escape the herd to the more secluded areas of the lake where the grass grows longest near the shallower waters. From there they like to engage in games such as Tag, hide and go Seek, and watch Acanthus try to be quick witted. Hulda usually gets the pleasure of playing that game along with the others. At times they also briefly enjoy peeking out over the water's surface and watch the sun set from a different perspective. They only do this when they are out later than they should away from their little herd. Avoiding dangerous predators is not on the list of enjoyable outings.

How did they meet?
Acanthus had wondered away from his herd's territory when he was a young foal and became tangled in seaweed and other plant life. Hulda wondered away from her herd and caught him flailing about in a pathetic attempt to free himself. She was able to get him free after a while of trying to get him to calm down. Since than than they had continued to meet in private without the knowledge of both of their herds.
The two were the children of the leaders of their separate herds. Like Romeo and Juliet, they were never meant to meet. And certainly not to fall in love. The two herds were in a constant battle over territory. Hulda and Acanthus always got a pleasure from seeing how far they could push their parents. Always going that extra mile to get on their nerves and show they wouldn't simply stop seeing each other.
One day, the patience of both herds was pushed beyond the boundary. A massive fight broke out while the two lovers were away. Upon their return, they soon found most of Hulda's herd had been killed, along with Acanthus' parents. Hulda's parents, now utterly fed up with the actions of their daughter, turned tail and fled to the farthest edge of the lake. Though Hulda has searched for them, she couldn't find them. She assumes they are either dead or managed to get into the river and flee further. Heartbroken-and now pregnant-she returned to Acanthus, to the last person she had to count on.

Tell us about their first breeding?
Right after the birth of their sons, Hulda went missing. Most assumed she had merely run away, not being very brave when it came to any confrontations. It was known she didn't feel ready for a family. That she still wanted to live her days, carefree and playing. In truth, she would have settled and learned to deal with it. But she told no one of this, so when she disappeared, most assumed the worst. What really happened? Someone from Acanthus' herd, sour from the war the two had caused, found Hulda wandering alone to regain her strength in silence after the birth, and managed to spirit her away. Wrapped her tightly in seaweed and pulled her painfully along by the tail. Thus, the children grew up without a mother.
Acanthus was clueless as to what was going on most of the time. He knew he loved Hulda and it seemed right. He lead her away from both of their herds for a while so that nothing could come between their romantic experience.

What are their plans for the future?
Hulda wishes to make right by her family. After she managed to escape from her captors with the help of a passing creature, she quickly made her way back to her family. Hoping they didn't hold any hard feelings for her disappearance.
All the mare really wants for the future is to make up with her family. Hulda would also like to have more kids, in an attempt to right the wrongs she did in the past by showing she won't run away this time. Not that she ever did in the first place. She has no desire to search where her parents went, just to focus on her own family.
Acanthus wishes to find Hulda and make everything right. When she fled and left him with the foals he felt that he had done something terrible. Once he finds her he plans on never letting her go again and promises that whatever he had done will be righted.
For Torque, he just wants to help his father find Hulda, with the reasoning that it was in spite of his mother for leaving them alone. He cares for his father, something he really won't show too often. More or less it would be that whole situation where he grew up with a mother which causes him to act up from time to time and play his cruel 'jokes.'

Forestlace Family

Owners - Faithofthefallen (father), Toleranth (mother), -[The Spoof]- (daughter), Akuma_kessaku (son)
Names - Roarke (father), Eva (mother)Cordelia (daughter), Liam (son)
Personalities -
Faithofthefallen/Roarke
Before he met Efa, he was a thrill seeker. He once stole a cursed ruby necklace from a sea witch and the results have not been kind to him. Currently enslaved by her, he can only be with his family one day every five years or else his mate will grow sick and die. He is fiercely loyal and follows his heart. Sometimes he doesn't think things quite through, but somehow they seem to work out in the end.

He has spent the last five years looking forward to the day he could see his mate again and also trying to think of a way out of his curse.

Toleranth/Efa
Mild tempered, dislikes authority and tends to shy away from it as much as possible, Efa has been known to be stubborn on some things, but caves once enough pressure is applied. She loves children and is constantly around hers even when they don't want her to be.

Efa grew up loving the forests, but left them in search of a better things. Her travels brought her close to the sea, and while she walked along the sea gazing off into its endless horizon of water she came across her future husband coming ashore.

-[The Spoof]-/Cordelia
Gentle - She loves to swim in the ocean and believes in the philosophy of 'live and let live'. She is very caring and would like nothing more than to see her mother happy again. For as long as she can remember her mother has had a deep sadness and she longs to fix it for her.

When she was young, she was afraid to step on the grass for fear of killing the bugs and grass itself. Her mother and brother do not let her live this down to this day.

Akuma_kessaku/Liam
Animated Hero... he's brave, charming, and kind of a goof... he knows when to be serious, but tries to make light of the situation even in it's darkest moments.

Liam has watched over his mother, and tended to her illness when it flared for many years, but soon his thirst for adventure pulled at him. Knowing the feeling, his mother did not want to restrain him, and told him to go enjoy his life... But he never forgot where his home was. He often returned, with treasures and potential cures for his mother, but nothing seemed to be helping for long...

And a little RP -
Once upon a time...

Efa first laid eyes on Roarke while scouring the lands for her lifemate. Her travels brought her many places, but nothing compared to the sea. She strode along the beach until she happened upon a kelpi staggering out of the water. Efa, having been raised in the forests most her life, was shocked to see this. She had heard of Soquili that lived in the water, but never witnessed such a thing. transfixed by such a sight she approached him.

They began with small talk, but as the day progressed they shared tales of each other's adventures. The sound of his voice teased her heartstrings. She calmed her rising attraction with cold logic, did she really want someone who could go where she couldn't follow? Not only that, but what about children, he was clearly different. Still he clearly looked interested in her, as they spent the day around the beach.

As the afternoon changed to the evening, Efa could clearly see a disappointment tugging at him. Efa heart sank to her stomach, had she done something to change the mood? frustrated, she rose to her feet, and demanded to know what troubled him. Roarke was clearly taken by surprise in the change of Efa's mood, and how she completely misunderstood his reasons for sorrow. Though it was rather beautiful to see this strength welling inside of her. Avoiding the subject he gave Efa a stunning ruby necklace. Efa seemed speechless at first, it was beautiful, and like nothing she had ever seen sold or made.

In the shade of an oak just yards from the beach, Efa finally succumbed to her rising attraction to Roarke. Worn out from the days events Efa watched the sun set at her lifemate's side and slowly drifted to sleep curled around him. When a stir of wind rustled the dry leaves that made their nest, she woke to see him gone, but the necklace still remained. Being half asleep, Efa figured he had gone for a morning dip, and would return to her side shortly. She laid her head back down and drifted back off to sleep.

Years had passed since these star-crossed Soquili met. Efa had birthed two beautiful foals for this Kelpi, raised them into fine adults, and has fallen victim to a mysterious illness which threatens to claim her life. Still, she returns to the beach that sealed her fate, and still, he did not reappear above the waters. She settled uncomfortably in the sand with her fat belly digging down into the ground. The ruby necklace that hung from her neck felt heavy with the sorrow she bares. Some days she wondered if he were even still alive.

"Roarke" she whispered to herself, brokenly.

A home had grown from a small cave and a gentle hill that led to the beach, under the same oak that had sheltered their first night together. The shallow cave was homey, with its soft piles of leaves and grass, dried so they would not smell. Liam watched after his sister as she dreamed on, unaware that their mother was at it again. Watching the coast with a faraway look in her eyes, Efa still spent every sunset down by the beach awaiting their father's return.

Roarke had spent the last five years in the service of the witch from whom he mistakenly stole the ruby necklace for his mate. He'd done every task she asked of him since then, without much choice in the matter. She had placed a curse on him, if he approached his mate before the first day of the fifth year, she would fall ill and die. He wasn't willing to risk that, considering everything else the witch had told him had been true. It was just minutes before midnight, and his heart ached in his chest to be with his lover.

He waited patiently for the sun before breaking the surface of the chilly waters. shaking his whole body vigorously to rid him of the excess water, he shuffled his hooves through the sand... he was home.

Pondering the whereabouts of his lifemate, he followed a distinct trail of hoofprints up a hill away from the beach. How novel it was, to be in the open air once again! The underwater cavern served as a place for him to sleep and rest, but it was nothing compared to the sun beaming directly down on him for the first time in five years.

Roarke cracked a smile as he discovered a shallow cave nestled into a small hill under the shade of the very oak he shared his first night with his love. He eagerly strode forward to see the love of his life once more, only to stop dead as he saw the two full-grown soquili that could only be his children. They were a perfect blend of him and her, and despite being caught completely off guard he felt an instant bond with the two still sleeping.

Efa mumbled in her sleep, as if sensing her long lost lover was near. She cracked an eye open and blinked a few times at the site that greeted her. It was obviously another dream, she thought to herself.

"Efa, my love. I have returned." Roarke whispered, having moved to stand next to her with his head bent, muzzle next to her ear.

Efa mumbled; "Why did you go? I waited every day, staring out at the sea, but you never returned." Efa picked her head up looking at her husband, tears ran from her eyes. "Please don't leave me again, it's been so hard. Cordelia and Liam deserve to know their father. They need more than the stories I can give them."

Sitting bolt upright, Efa's stern side came through, "You need to stay with us."

Roarke lowered his head, not wanting to speak of the curse, "I-I know...things have been difficult, but I am here now. We may only have today, but I promise to do my best to make up for lost time."

And so, Roarke spent the day with his family and getting to know his children. He had never felt so complete. He learned of his daughters efforts to enhance her lung capacity to become more like himself, but was sure to note that the ocean is nothing like the land, and to not take the sun for granted. His son, Liam, was a traveler, like his mother. Visiting other lands, meeting the many species of Soquili and Familiar alike, Even came across a tribe of Kawani natives. He spoke of an illness Efa had. The news troubled Roarke, but he knew she was in the vigilant watch of their two beautiful children. Liam had sought out cures for this mysterious illness, but has found none on land thus far... Which gave Roarke hope that he could find something in the ocean. He only hoped he could get it to her in time.

His time spent on land filled him with such joy that he did something he will soon regret. As the sun began to set on the horizon he followed his family to their den and began to snuggle in for the night. Just as everyone became comfortable and he began to hope that maybe the witch had lied, a sharp jolt of pain struck his chest and he shot up.

Efa too, seemed to look deathly ill, she gasped for air and became very weak. Roarke rushed to the beach. Efa staggered after him with the support of Liam.

Cordelia rushed to her mother, concerned when she seemed to sag and lay in the sand, panting, clearly in pain.

"This is why you left, what have you done, and why now do I suffer?" Efa used Cordelia to push off of to turn herself so she could see Roarke.

Roarke turned back, "I regret each day I spend down in those cold depths, but if I return before the first day of the fifth year... we will die. I make the sacrifices I do to keep you alive... But I overstepped my boundaries and now I must return. I am so very sorry Efa." he slipped into the water and disappeared beneath the waves.

Efa cried out in pain, not from the curse or illness, but from the pain in her heart. Another five years would pass before she saw her Roarke again...

Liam's face held a look of worry, worry that this would greatly impact their mother's will to survive her illness. He urged her to stand, then guided her back to the cave where they tried to settle in once more.

Days pass and Cordelia paced the cave, worried. Mother hadn't gotten any better since Father had left, even though he said she would. She knew it wasn't his fault, the stories mother had raised them on painted him as a good person and he would never do this to their mother on purpose. Besides, he had been in just as much pain as Mother. She glanced at Liam out of the corner of her eye and leaned into his side, offering silent comfort.

"Liam, I have a plan..." she whispered so that their mother would not wake form her fitful sleep.

He lifted his head and stared at her through half opened eyes, "What is this plan of yours, dear sister?"

As their mother stirred, she tried to communicate that he should follow her with her eyes as she eagerly ran from the cave, to the beach, and into the waves lapping at the beach, the water swirling around her legs and she was quickly up to her torso, moving with the gentle rocking of the ocean. Looking behind her at Liam who was hesitating, she gestured with her head that he should follow.

"You know I'm not nearly as good a swimmer as you, plus I lack your extra appendage that propels you through the water with such grace..." he added as he attempted to follow through the lapping waves, that got increasingly rougher as he made his way from the shore, "So do pace yourself... for me?"

They swam together for a while, occasionally diving down to see if they could find their father. Cordelia knew she could last a long time under the water as she had been slowly increasing her lung capacity her entire life. She loved the ocean and if it were up to her, she would have gills so she would never leave it.

Trudging along behind his sister he peeked under the surface of the salty water to see nothing, once his eyes adjusted he was able to see small fish, but otherwise darkness. lifting his head he shook his mane out of his face, only managing to get it mangled in his antlers, "This swimming is a lot harder than i remembered it to be..." he wheezed, "Are we almost there? It's too deep so i can't see a thing."

His sister didn't give a response, but she dove again, leaving him treading water at the surface. taking a few shallow breaths he took one last deep breath and plunged into the depths.

The sea floor became more clear as Liam made his way to the bottom, he noticed a kelpi like figure slithering into a cave and figured his sister must have found something, so he planted himself on the roof in a studly like manor and shook his mane, 'Don't worry Cordelia!' he announced in his deep adventurous voice, 'I've got your back!'

He tried to keep his straight serious adventurous face, but soon cracked a smile, then giggled his way up to the surface as the air escaped his mouth. Liam finished his good laugh and dove back down, keeping watch atop the cave.

A dark figure lurked inside the cave and Cordelia shivered looking at the way the light seemed to stop a few feet from the figure. It was like she was sucking it in. Liam was off somewhere else, probably getting air. Despite her weariness, and something inside her telling her to turn around and never come back, she hesitantly asked if the being had seen a purple and blue kelpi anywhere.

"You wish to find your father, yes?" the witch crooned as her figure shifted in the darkness.

"Where is he?! Do you know? Tell me!!" Cordelia demanded, moving forward despite her uneasiness.

"Why would I tell you anything, little filly? You are in my home, breaking down my door, and demanding answers to questions that do not concern you? Hmmm..." the witch taunted, a smirk evident in her voice.

Cordelia growled as well as she was able underwater and became conscious of the fact she was running out of air. She needed to end this confrontation quickly, "Just tell me where my father is. I need to find him, our mother is deathly ill. He might know how to help her..."

"Oh no, he knows nothing of your mother's illness. At least, not how to cure it. Tell me, dear, what would you do to save your mother? Your father?" Cordelia caught a glimpse of slimy black skin and beady yellow eyes. She shivered.

"Anything." was said with a tone of finality.

The witch paused as the word processed and a smirk spread across her muzzle, revealing glinting pointed teeth, "Very well. Your father is within the cave behind me, unconscious but unharmed. Take him to your mother and get your brother off the top of my cave or he will lack eyeballs in a moment..."

She glanced up at where her brother was posing, surprised to see him. He must have come to find her after regaining his breath and been waiting to see if she needed assistance. Hoping her eyes had communicated that he should follow her, she moved swiftly past the witch and into the cave.

Liam's cheeks bulged as the air escaped his lips again, and he made one final trip to the surface, before diving down and following her into the cave. It was dark and he couldn't really see anything, he ran into the wall rather hard with a sharp hiss of pain. "Delia, where are you?" he called into the darkness.

"Here!" she called from ahead, having found their father prone on the ground. She bent to look at him, tiny air bubbles escaping her nostrils reminding her that words should be few down here. Making the motions of a sigh (but not letting out the precious air required), she knelt and finagled her father onto her back.

"Come on Liam, let's take him home to mother."

The witch watched with a smile on her face. It was not a nice smile, made up entirely of her yellowing, pointed teeth. She would allow her stallion servant to leave her service, but the daughter would have a delightful surprise when she reached land. Maybe the would even figure out what was wrong with the mother, the fungus growing inside their home would eventually be the end of all of them if the did not.

Link to our plotting thread ---> [x]
A lot of this was worked out through skype chat, AIM, and PM's. Also we all got together irl and verbally plotted out some.

Some future plots:
1. Finding the cure for Efa, perhaps getting a healer to come and look at her who realizes there is a deadly mold/fungus growing in their cave that is actually the cause of making them sick.

2. Sea witch - find a willing mer-soq and have them try to take one of the children of either Roarke/Efa, or Cordelia or Liam in further payment for releasing Roarke.

3. Couples' Retreat - since Roarke and Efa really have only known each other for about a month now, they have never had to live with each other. Despite having children together and pining after each other for five years, they are beginning to realize differences between them? Possibly go on a 'honeymoon' to see if they can make it through?

Owners - JetAlMeara : Father
~Kiana_Nala~ : Mother
Revel1984 : Daughter
Thaliawen : Son
Names - Abraxas Forestlace (Father)
Calliope Forestlace (Mother)
Aradia Forestlace (Daughter)
Dorian Forestlace (Son)
Personalities -
Father
Abraxus - Abraxus is a Narcissus, theres no other way to put it to be honest - he's egotistic, vain, selfish and full of conceit. To put it in his terms..he is the best and so he deserves the best and he doesn't think theres anything wrong with that sort of thinking. unfortunately for those around him all of these aren't the best personality types to be around in even a decently morally bound creature...when you combine them with a stallion whose moral compass is very firmly in the grey edging to dark then you have real problems. Abraxus is very much that morally grey stallion - and he's really good at justifying all of his questionable decisions too and thusly feels that he always has a reason and he's never wrong. He's a sweet talker when he wants to - though he usually only wants to be when theres something in it for him. He likes to 'collect' things..perfect, pretty and wonderful things and he'll go far far out of his way to claim, steal or talk his way into having them. Beautiful horses should be surrounded by beautiful things...including beautiful mates

Mother
Calliope is a very friendly and reserved soquili. She does not like to argue, or cause any type of disturbance with people, with few exceptions. However, over her journey Calliope becomes more open and mature although, at times she may become frustrated with her situation. After she finds Abraxas she becomes more friendly and loving towards everyone she stumbles upon.

Daughter
Aradia is quite set in her ways, she loves the water and feels most at home when in it. But it is more then just a home to her, she looks upon herself as the protect of both the water itself and the other creatures who share her domain. Any who enter the water uninvited will be run off due to her over protective ways. The water is her sanctuary and so only those who are invited are allowed to enter freely. Once reunited with her father Aradia will notice how well her mother can control the stallion through her songs and believe this is the way it should be. She will make it a habit to practice the differant ways of bewitching stallions that she has deemed worthy of her company, attempting to lure them into her watery abode and keep them hidden on a private island she has claimed as her own. Her drive for perfection will ensure that she becomes successful in this and any other aspect of her life.

Son
Caught between his heritage and the lives they represent, Dorian is at an impasse in his life. Having grown up knowing only his mother and his sister, both so different and yet alike to himself, he doesn't have much basis to go off of to know what he should do with himself. He's a momma's boy though, devoted to following and protecting her, and this has given him a cause in his early stallion-hood. Curiosity about his sire burns in him, which is why he never protested their constant journeying. Indeed, he's curious about seeing new things and new persons, though he does have hopes of one day settling down in one place. In general Dorian is a gentle, soft spoken stallion, observant of the world around him. He's slow to anger, but likely to hold a grudge for a long time, without letting it show.

And a little RP -
Calliope stood among her family in silence. Her belly was large with foals; foals that her parents wished to have sent to close friends once they were born in order to escape the ‘evil’ she carried within her womb. The herd believed that Calliope had fornicated with the enemy, Abraxas. This was true; however, she did not believe she was the only one to blame. She would have never had fallen in love with or even met Abraxas for that matter if her parents and the rest of the herd had not sent her as a trap to lure him back to their herd where they could ‘dispose of him’. At the time she had agreed, knowing that there wasn’t any other option at the time. Sure she had heard of just how evil he was, but she could never harm another creature. She shook her head at the thought of hurting her new mate. None of this would have happened if she hadn’t been able to lure Abraxas with her voice. For some reason he believed that she was a siren, one that was sent to him by the gods to help him in his quest to conquer the Kawani lands. Calliope knew she was not a siren; however, it made him happy to believe so. In fact, she was his only weakness. He could never turn her away when she appeared on his island singing and seemingly in search of someone to capture. Or at least that was what he had believed. The truth was she was forced to return to him nightly if not more, so that he would fall in love with her, and then be lured into the trap the herd had set for him. Over time, Calliope started returning to her herd less and less. Eventually she had stopped returning all together. She was completely happy living on the island with only Abraxas as company. Abraxas was as well, in fact, he had stopped attacking the herds around him. However, her family would not allow their only child to (as they saw it) be captured by such a horrendous creature. Not only was he an evil creature, doing God knows what else on his island to their dear Calliope, but he was also a Kelpie. Her herd of Ceyreni’s believed that Kelpie’s were Ceyreni’s long ago cursed by the sea god Poseidon for not properly worshiping him and his siblings. Kelpies were always chased away from the herd when they wandered out from the water onto the land near the herd. These Ceyreni’s were intent on protecting future generations from ‘contamination’. Calliope collapsed on the ground in pain. Her foals would soon arrive and shortly after that they would be taken from her. She would not allow them to be taken from her like Abraxas had. Before Calliope’s belly had become swollen and before she could tell Abraxas she was pregnant, her herd had stormed his island and taken both her and her mate back to the mainland. She was kept separately from him in her parents den where she could be closely watched for any signs of disobedience. Her herd had waited until night when they decided to finally ‘dispose’ of Abraxas. However, when they had gone to get him from the tree where they had trapped him earlier, they realized he had escaped just minutes before their return. He had somehow broken the tree roots and ran away without anyone ever realizing he was gone. Well, except for Calliope. She had managed to get away from the guards that were set in front of her parents den in order to keep her from getting to Abraxas. While she was on her way to free her mate she realized he had escaped on his own and was running north in search of a hiding place. She never thought he would never return for her or that she was simply something to bide his time with. Calliope knew Abraxas loved her and that leaving her behind was not an easy thing for him, however, he would have been captured again if he had looked for her so he ran. As Calliope came back to reality she stood and breathed as calmly as she could. Her parents had stepped out of the den in order to give their daughter the space she needed to bare the abomination foals she carried within her. Little did they know, she planned to use the side entrance to escape. She walked as fast as her legs and body would allow her, not stopping until she was a good seven miles from her home. Calliope hid within the dark forest, where if her herd members had managed to track her this far they would not be able to find her within the forest. As soon as she had reached a safe place she instantly felt intense labor pains. “No….” She said to her belly as it moved. Quickly she pulled large banana leafs onto the ground beneath her. With several loud screams and absolute agony Calliope had given birth to two foals. She quickly placed them into baskets and pulled them close to her. She would not be able to leave this spot until they hatched. Calliope put her head between the baskets, one blue with green splattered all over it and one brown with and a bluish green splattered all over it. The baskets appeared to have the markings their father had upon his body, which made her both happy and sad. She was happy because every time she would look at them she would see Abraxas in their small faces, but she was also sad because he would not be around to share in the joy they brought. Well, he wouldn’t be around for quite some time. She briefly wondered if she would ever find him. However, she quickly shook that thought from her head as she listened to her small children whine within their baskets. Her heart burst with new found hope and happiness. Months passed by in an endless blur. In that time her children had emerged from their baskets into beautiful foals. The blue basket popped open and a girl whom she named Aradia appeared. The brownish basket also popped shortly after and a boy whom she named Dorian made an appearance. The girl Aradia was a beautiful blue kelpie who reminded Calliope so much of Abraxas. Her personality slightly resembled her father in his set ways of doing things. Dorian on the other hand, seemed to be more of a perfect mix between her and Abraxas. However, his personality matched more of Calliope’s even though he seemed even more reserved then her. After her children had some time to get used to walking, Calliope decided it was time that the quest to find their father began again. Aradia and Dorian didn’t seem to understand at the time what all the journey encompassed, however, they excitedly agreed. Maybe it was due to them wishing to know their father? Calliope often asked herself. As they walked across the Kawani lands Calliope was able to teach her children all about the world around them and how to find food and water when there seemed to be nothing but dead earth around them. This pleased her because she knew that the knowledge she was able to instill upon them was invaluable and that they would be able to find their way back to her or at least survive on their own if they were to ever get separated. Time flew by and it was not long until Aradia and Dorian grew into wonderful adults or at least that is how she saw each of them. They continued to wander the Kawani lands in search of Abraxas together, with the exception of when Aradia would wander off a bit too far. Not that she wasn’t allowed to, Calliope just simply worried that Aradia would abandon hope of finding their father and therefore leave. She knew Dorian would never leave her alone but that was mainly due to him believing that someone needed to stick around to protect her or take care of her. Or at least that is what she thought. Aradia watched her mother as she slept beneath a tree in silence. Ever since she was a foal her mother had dragged her and her brother Dorian all across the Kawani lands in search of a father they had never known. A long the way she had told them the story of how they met and also of how their relationship had begun. Aradia often wondered if her father was dead or simply just a story made up by her mother to get them to follow along with her. She loved her mother, however, she often found herself questioning her mother’s sanity. It was quite possible that she was simply crazy. However, Aradia believed her mother anyways and tried her best to understand her need for finding their father Abraxas. Was it love? She wasn’t sure about this due to her mother telling her the story of how she had lured their father to her by simply singing. Maybe love wasn’t required, maybe it was just some made up feeling that would hope alive within foals. Aradia sighed. She was about to head off on another short walk for a few miles alone. Mostly, while on these walks she would encounter some kind of body of water in which she would begin to do what she was born to do. Swim. Her mother had not been able to teach her due to her inability to swim beneath the water for longer than a moment. However, it seemed to be encoded within her genes. As soon as she sat her foot in the water excitement and adrenaline filled her blood. Something about the water made Aradia at peace with life and the predicament she was currently in. Dorian laid beneath a the shade of the trees that lined the bank of the river that was laid out before him. Laying here looking out at the water he could feel a light jolt of need pulse through his veins. He felt as those he needed to be in the water, just like his sister needed to, however once he was within the water he felt less at ease then when he was on land. Not that he never swam, he just preferred to spend the majority of his time on land with his mother. That was also another reason why he never really swam. Every time he did so he felt as though he was leaving his mother behind. She could not swim like him or his sister and she would often become frustrated with the time spent swimming instead of walking in search of their father Abraxas. Yes, life had begun with a journey and he secretly played with the idea that it might end with one as well. He shook his head lightly, letting his hair flow around him. If they ever reached his father he knew that he could never be able to really abandon his mother. He was indeed a momma’s boy as his sister often teased him of being. However, Dorian just loved his mother and didn’t see it as much else. Maybe a bit to protective of her, but that was normal. All young stallions wish to protect their mothers and sisters from all danger and he was no different. Or was he? Dorian seemed to have a lot of inner conflicts with himself over his life and the life he hoped to have one day. He often saw himself either with his mother and father or near them. He also could not help but think of himself as having a mate one day with lots of children and grandchildren frolicking around him. Was this normal for young stallions to think about? Was he possibly becoming a little crazy due to the lack of contact with other soquili lately? He wasn’t sure of the answer to either question and couldn’t help but wonder if when they found his father if he could explain these feelings to him. Dorian hoped that it was simply youth getting the better of him. After walking for a year Calliope and her two children stumbled upon a large island that was covered in lush trees and moss. As they looked at it from across the water they could see a Kelpie figure just barely visible on the other side. Calliope could not hold back the tears that welled up in her eyes as she gazed upon Abraxas her mate Abraxas stood motionless upon his new island as she looked out at his mate across the water. He noticed that there were two soquili attached to either side of her and he knew instantly that they were his children. His heart was swollen with an emotion he couldn’t quite explain. Whenever Calliope was around he would get this feeling, regardless if she was singing to him or not. Abraxas knew it was love, however, he never really knew if she truly loved him as much as he loved her. As he continued to look upon Calliope and their children he could not help but wander back to when he and Calliope had first met. She had been walking on his island singing the most beautiful song he had ever heard. Abraxas believed at the time that she was a siren, sent by the sea god himself to help him in his quest to conquer the Kawani lands. At the beginning she would only appear at night which further led him to the conclusion that she was indeed a siren. Finally, Abraxas could no longer take not being close to her. He wanted her to only sing to him forever, even though he planned on using her to sing other soquili they encountered in order for him to take over the land they possessed. It was not long before he began to get a feeling within his heart that caused him great grief and—joy? Abraxas could not understand the feeling she gave him every time she was near or looking at him. Calliope brought joy into his life in many ways. Both in her voice and the way she seemed to stir something within his heart he had never believed existed before. Before Calliope had come into his life, all he did was plot about taking over certain lands that local soquili possessed or went out and actually battled soquili for their land. However, Calliope brought a new found hope with her, one that he could not allow himself to harness as they grew closer. That was until the fateful day when her family appeared on his island and took them hostage. Calliope had tried to explain the night before that her family had wanted her to use him; however, she said she could not bring herself to do it. At first he had felt anger and shame, shame in believing someone could love him unconditionally. While he waited in the tree prison for Calliope to come rescue him or for his fate to be sealed he noticed that one of the roots to the tree was broken and that he could easily slip through. Once he had slipped through the broken root he looked around for any sign of Calliope. However, he knew he couldn’t look for her due to guards coming back to take him to his fate, his death. Abraxas steeled himself as he closed his eyes, not wanting to do what he was about to do. Quickly, Abraxas opened his eyes and ran as fast as he could through the trees and into the sea. He would leave Calliope behind, knowing that he didn’t have another choice. Guards were probably guarding her as well and he could not allow himself to believe that her own family might kill her. As he ran he could feel a wet sticky tear roll down his cheek. He had never cried before, especially never for another person. However, leaving Calliope broke the little piece of humanity and compassion for another within him. Months went by before he found an island that reminded him of his old one. The one he had shared with Calliope. Even though so much time had passed he could not help but think of her and the life they could have had. He made a vow to himself that day that if Calliope was to ever find him again that he would never take for granted each day she spent with him. As she ran towards him, and he towards her, neither one could help but to call the others name in joy. Months passed and Aradia had wandered off on her personal quest, Dorian was beginning to try and explore himself and Calliope and Abraxas were happily living upon the island together. Life felt complete as it was or at least that is what Calliope believed, however, the idea of having more children was always floating around in her head.

Names -
Father: Ruehil
Mother: Florinda Hyasinth
Daughter: Enakai Vailea
Son: Visuelle
Personalities -
Tempers:
Ruehil: Vindictive
Florinda: Vixen
Enakai: Vivacious
Visuelle: Vain

Ruehil: A vain and crude creature without an edge of forgiveness, Ruehil is your less-than-friendly run of the mill Kelpi. Lurking in more shallow waters than others of his kind tend to stray, he spends equal time on land and in the water, due to his love for collecting toys and trinkets that he stashes in his underwater lair. Among these toys he claims, there are even Soquili he puts his name upon. A lust for possessions and greed has corrupted him, and he has grown possessive and frighteningly so. Those who take away his precious collectibles are thrown into an unspeakable amount of danger, for Ruehil has no trouble stalking and hunting them down to torment and make their lives miserable. Vindictive, virulent, and vengeful, his obsession is not only perilous, but potent. He does well with his craft of vengeance, and has never failed yet to deliver his dues to those whom choose to defy him.

Florinda: Florinda will not ever let another have the last word, and given the chance will make them regret crossing her, even in a good mood. She's gentle and caring to her loved ones, but hell hath no fury as they say, and she is no exception. She also has a bad tendency that when one tells her she can't do something, she will go out of her way to prove them oh so very wrong.

Enakai: While Vivacious in nature she's out going.. full of life with an undertone of her parents.. she's not above arguing with others if she's dead set in her own opinion. She's got moments where she'd try to convince you the sky was green and the grass was pink if she was so inclined to think such. And as such, she's slightly color blind. Green actually does look pink to her. Blues and yellows she sees without issues. She can hold grudges for a while and brood on them when she's been struck the wrong way. Much like any kid some of her personality comes from her parents, however for the most part, she'll almost never show show her brooding side.

Visuelle: He is very proud of everything he does, though what he does never comes out correctly. He often tries in vain to succeed in being anything other than a serious failure. He feels his beauty makes up for his failures as a stallion, and depends greatly upon his looks when trying to get anywhere.

And a little RP -
The meeting:

Florinda had once again gotten into a fight with her parents. They were constantly telling her that she would lifemate with a strong buck, and that her lot in life would be to raise her foals and keep them strong. This irritated the mare no end. She argued till her teeth felt as though they would rattle out of her head. Finally she had stormed off, screaming at them that she'd pick her own mate, not them. She was full of spite as her delicate frame ran through the forest to the edges of her parent's herd's land. Her long legs were graceful, and despite her dainty frame, she had a mean kick that many a buck was on the receiving end of. She would be no male's pretty little breeder. She wanted love, worship, devotion to her, and in no way would she ever be satisfied with a buck who thought he could boss her around, and didn't have the strength to take her on. Florinda was headed straight to where she knew she would find something nasty enough to be her equal, he was mean, he was nasty, and probably part of it was her fault, but he was the only one strong enough to put an end to her parent's ideas, because as far as he was concerned, she'd been his since she was a foal. Granted she argued the fact, made him angry, but his colors flared when he was angry, and she found it beautiful. Her mind wandered back to when she'd met the foul water dwelling creature.

----------------------Flash Back-------------
She had found herself shoved into a murky disgusting pond that held who knew what in its depths. Her short red mane was stuck to her face, and algae was staining her hooves a hideous green color. She stomped and whined about being pushed into the horrendous stench. Florinda was not going to stand for such treatment, especially not from some idiot yearling who thought he could break her because she was his betrothed. That would last five seconds longer and then she'd break his legs and leave him for the Kalona's. Her small frame stumbled into a sink hole of muck, and she squeaked. Frustration was making it harder for her to move with a purpose. She was starting to want to give up. There wasn't much fight left in her now, but her hoof struck something hard, she pushed hoping it would be solid enough for her to get her footing and get out of the muck.

Ruehil growled to himself as he felt the water around him get disturbed, and lifted his head from his little underwater cavern for all his mini trinkets. Glaring up at the small hooves entering the muck of his pond, he kicked off the mud at the bottom of his lair and batted the water with his tail, swimming swiftly up with his strong flipper and fins, and slowing as he broke the surface, only peering over the water. While he was annoyed with the intrusion, he wasn't so stupid as to charge headfirst into a situation that might get him killed. He was young, and while his tail was nothing to laugh at when it gave a nice slap in the muzzle, he still couldn't hold his own up against too big of a threat.

He nearly laughed though, as he saw the struggling filly and her captor trying to force the foal into the pond. Perhaps they had heard the rumor of his existence and reign here, and the male was trying to foolishly enter the water with the younger female, trying to prove bravery, and stupidity. He ducked back under the water though, and swam fast back down into the murk, before kicking off a rock from the bottom again, his curls flying behind him as he lept straight out of the water and gave a swift turn of his rump so that he slapped the other male silly with his tail. Baring his razor sharp teeth in a grin, the murky water creature challenged the buck silently with his eyes, and the two ensued on a match that ended triumphantly with a Kelpi giving a swift kick to the hindquarters of a bruised, battered, and cut up male Cerynei.

Tossing his wet mane, Ruehil smirked and then remembered the filly, turning his head boredly to the creature he formerly had little interest in, until he took her under further inspection. Another grin met his bloodied teeth and he approached with a confidence that didn't go unjustified. After all, he did just give a swift beating to a buck without sustaining any injury worth mentioning himself.

"What's a pretty little filly doing entering muddy water?" He asked, having cut her off from retreat with his fight and now, with his approach. "Got a name?"

Florinda had nearly lost her footing again when the rumored monster of the depths had appeared. He was stunning to her, his colors that of the wildest flowers she'd seen. Green eyes looked up from between the soaked and mucked red mane that stuck to her face, and watched as he flattened the idiot her parents wanted to pair her up with. She was happily enjoying watching that nasty buck get put in his place by a creature that was swiftly becoming fascinating to her. It was as though she was already drawn in to the colors on his body, as she stood there still as death so she wouldn't disturb the fight, or miss a groan the buck let out.

She watched in strange rapture as he flicked his wet mane and looked back at her, that grin on his face only served to intrigue her even more, the confident smile of a deadly creature. And the eyes that watched her were a color of blue she'd never seen, so it took her a moment to register his questions. With some effort she pulled herself out of the murky water to where it only came up to her ankles, "I got shoved in by that idiot you so neatly beat nearly to death." With a tone that could have frozen over hell fire, "You should have killed him." With an irritated sort of snort, she flung her short mane out of her face, revealing fine bone structure that would age well as she grew, those green eyes looking at him as a savior, not a predator, "The name would be Florinda. Not the most awe inspiring name, but it's not bad." Green eyes seemed to turn to flames, "However those that seem to think it's too long shorten it to "Flori" and get a swift hoof to their face." There was a confident beyond her age sort of smile, "And what is your name, as monster of the lake seems a paltry description."

Ruehil smirked lightly as she told him how she had come to slide into his waters, and gave a flick of his tail to shave off some of the muck that got on him as he broke the surface of his pond, disliking how it dried from contact with the air. Her tone intrigued him, such a little foal being capable of such malice. Even more than that, she was female. A trait he so loved in his 'toys'. "Wasn't worth the effort." He chirped, showing off razor sharp teeth that could've easily found it's way into flesh that wasn't the meaty hip of the buck that had long turned tail and fled.

"Besides, what fun would it be to chase a corpse?" He added, imposing his own, repugnant logic on the filly. He stepped into the muck and circled her curiously, observing her half wet, half dry pelt, the way her muddy mane flopped against her. A part of him liked the way it clung to her coat, and thought of pulling the female into his waters with him. Then again, that would end the fun too soon. He didn't want to accidentally drown the doe in his admiration of her soaked form. That and a hoof in the face didn't sound so inviting either.

"Florinda? I do like it." Ruehil shook his fins, and laughed when she mentioned how much her shorter name bothered her. "Well, perhaps. Why do you detest it so? Giving such a fair warning however, only provokes the monster of the lake, you realize." He chuckled a bit darkly, his tone playful, but there was an air of truth behind his words, so tempted to let that taboo slide from his tongue and see just how powerful those thin, lanky hind legs were. "As for my name, those few who I've found worth knowing it, call me Ruehil. Feel free to keep addressing me as monster of the lake however. Unlike a certain flower here, I don't mind aliases." He chuckled again, his narrow eyes and drying curls bringing a sort of alluring sense around him, even if his sharp fins gave off a dangerous air that shouldn't be dealt with.

She snorted at his commentary of it not being worth the effort, "But the satisfaction of watching that wretch breath his last would be far more satisfying than chasing him. Besides, there are much more interesting things to chase than some fool buck." She wasn't exactly intent on making him think of her in a manner as such, but she could give the water breather a run for his money. She might not be the best swimmer, but she was one of the fastest runners in her herd. Second only to her own mother. She quirked her ear to the side as he circled her, showing no feeling of dread or fear, he was looking at her as many a male had, though she was young she was a looker for a foal, soon enough she'd be fully grown, and males would be more insistent on gaining her attentions.

Her ears twitched in delight as he spoke her name. It was something that sent chills up her spine, something she wasn't quite sure about. And though she wouldn't admit it, the thought of him calling her by the shortened version made her curious. She frowned a bit as he called her a flower, but she was quite enjoying the attention, despite everyone else who'd pushed to get on her good side and showered her with attention, his dangerous aura was much more attractive than the vain attempts of the bucks who tottered about on pride filled hooves, "Ruehil, quite a name." There was a small smirk, and a glimmer in her green eyes, "I only mind the name because it seems to me that most call me that because they seem to think they are close enough to me that I allow them affectionate pet names." The glimmer was something dangerous of her own, she didn't like the way others assumed she was so easily swayed by pretty words, "I prefer people earn things rather than assume it as a given."

Though the doe had spoken the way she had, Ruehil reacted in a way that caught her off guard. He dared to call her by that name, and when she gave her customary kick, he'd simply blocked it, and grinned at her. Claiming her as his. Florinda had been furious, and Ruehil enjoyed her fury. Delighted in it even, but none-the-less he'd made his claim.

---------------------------------------------------End flash back--------------------------------

Florinda would find Him, make that evil monster stand up for his claim, and put her parents in their place. She was more than old enough now, and she knew his cravings well. She smirked to herself. She spent so much time in the waters that her fluff about her hooves was green with algae. She'd kept close to him, never revealing that she knew the monster of the lake, never letting her herd know what she harbored in her heart for this vile creature. Oh, but they would see. They would know. And then they'd leave her alone.

Months passed by, and Florinda bore two foals. A female and a male. The female bore resemblance to her father, in some of her quirks and her love of water, and all things collectible, while their son was far too vain without the motivation to obtain what he wanted through hard work. But the pair were much more kindred with their parents than with their "kin" in the herd. Ruehil found a strange enjoyment in his daughter's attempts to keep up with him. He also found irritation in his son, and in Florinda's defense of Visuelle's paltry attempts to swoon females with his charms. The pair grew up, watched their parents argue, fight, and still in their own twisted ways, care for one another, though all those around felt that the family was disturbing at best. As they grew, the children grew to their own interests, Enakai of course had grown in her obsessions with collections.

The sun pierced through the murky water she'd been making her own lair in. She'd been born here, learned to swim here. A nice underwater crevice is what she'd found. This would do nicely for what she needed. The sharp pointed doe like hooves she'd been born with proved useful for kicking, digging and otherwise cutting at the stone to widen the crevice for her own uses. Turning under the water, she slapped at the crevice opening with her tail in order to widen it, make it something... more useful. She just wanted it to hold her beloved trinkets in.. stash away what little objects had caught her eye like a magpie obsessing over something that glimmers and shines. Turning, she looked back at it once more and seemingly satisfied, she pawed a few of the smaller rubble out of the way and inspected her work even further before returning to the surface to look about. Her head barely broke the surface as she glanced about. the water was still for the most part. Slapping her tail once more, she swam for the edge of the water and looked over the pile of bobbles and shells and other thing she's spent the morning collecting. she counted them coolly, a rather happy smile on her face over a collection well made. She'd rival her father's collections she wagered.

Dark auburn curls seemed to float around his head as he laid there in the slivers of the morning sun ignoring the thought of getting up to do anything. Unlike his obsessive and early rising sister, he much more preferred the late afternoon to evening hours. Slowly, dark aquamarine eyes looked over at where his sister was busily piled her bits and pieces of what she felt was treasure, then he slowly rolled them in ridicule. Oh how that creature he was related to spent her time on pointless things. Like competing with their father. He felt it was the silliest thing for her to do, but in his own way he somewhat admired her...obsessive nature. In his own way, Visuelle was competing with their mother...more so for the attentions of the opposite sex, but he wanted the attention whereas his mother abhorred such fancy. Stretching, he snorted a bit and stood, he was a half hand shorter than his sister, but he was still large for a buck, much larger than his grandfather, and in his opinion much grander. He slipped towards the water, and admired himself in the reflection, there wasn't a mare alive who would be able to resist him. His confidence spoke volumes, despite his somewhat narcissistic tendencies. He sighed, but did not decide to speak with his sister, as distracting Enakai from her gathering had often earned him a swift kick or a nasty smack with her tail. So he'd simply sit back and watch in silence, till his crazy sister was finished with her toils of the morning.

Often Visuelle and Enakai are seen together by the waters edge, lingering around and waiting for some lost traveler to fall into their midst, and be their entertainment for the day. If you find the whole family together, the bickering of the parents can be heard for miles around, Ruehil's voice carrying loudly, and Florinda's shrieks making banshee's envious. The unlikely set of misfits giving any traveler in their territory a rather odd introduction to their little family that came to be out of a doe's desperation and a stallion's obsession.

Striped Punnet:
Owners
Teamedwardcullenation (father)
Magnadearel (long haired son)
Silversheildwolf (short haired son)
Katsura Zanshin (mother)

Names
Father: Ichthian
Short haired son: Clover
Long haired son: Koralo
Mother: Menthe

Personalities
Father's name: Ichthian (Ichthys is ancient greek for FISH)
Personality: Ichthian is a brave Seathi, he loves his family and strives to protect them from all dangers, real or imagined. His father raised him to be bold and protective of his lady and his family and he strives to raise his sons in the same values. He chose his home on an extinct underwater volcano so he could keep an eye on his offspring when they were young, as well as his mate.
When danger struck in the form of a wandering predator the cliffs and hollows of the volcano protected his family and in gratitude the Seathi protects his territory from others who would claim it and takes good care of the other life on the mountain, his home, and his mate. Ichthian tries to keep in touch with his sons now that they are grown but has trouble occasionally with Koralo who insists that he needs his space. Ichthian only partially understands his sons obsession with gardening. His other son is quite amendable to the occasional visit from his father and/or his mother if she decides to tag along. Icthian is a fierce,(but small) fighter and a loving, doting father. He is also headstrong and has been known to argue quite vigorously on occasion.
In his younger years he set out to prove himself against larger, stronger opponents and happened upon Menthe who became his mate through many arguments and his endless devotion and worship. For him it was love at first sight. He finds her kind, loving and a great mother and is quite proud he found such a great mate to help raise his two cherished, (if difficult on occasion) sons. It is a relief to have Menthe around for support when being a father becomes a little trying. Icthian hopes that his sons will also find love and nudges them in that direction when he can. He is positive that that will mellow Koralo out. But as of yet his long haired son has not shown any inclination whatsoever to go and meet decent young females. Of less concern is his other son Clover who simply seems distracted by a variety of things and Ichthian is just waiting for one of those things to be a beauty of a young seathi.

Mothers name: Menthe
Personality: Energetic and helpful. Loving to friends and family

Short hair son: Clover
Personality: Likes to keep in touch with his family. He enjoys playing some pranks on his younger brother. When he isn't there, Clover is following smaller sea animals around. The brighter the color the more likely he will be there to check it out
Clover enjoys hearing how his parents met.

He hopes to find a mate that can handle his Oh shiny... What was I doing? way.

Long haired son: Koralo (coral in Esperanto)
Personality: Koralo needs his space and will aggressively defend it. He loves working with and growing underwater plants. His passion lies in his immaculate garden. Always Koralo is on the look out for something new to add in; non-living objects to give accents and coral/living plants to expand his garden.

Of his family, he does care for them. All the touchy-feeliness gets on his nerves fairly quickly. He will tolerate it slightly more from his mother than his father or brother. His older brother's pranks are trying at times, and Koralo has sworn to get even some day. It has yet to happen. Koralo would never hesitate to defend any of them if a situation called for it; no matter how much they irritate him.

Koralo privately has no interest in seathi mares. He never has and doesn't understand the fuss Ichthian(others?) makes over it. To appease them he says he just hasn't found the right one yet.

Plots- He will not know he's gay until he finds the right seathi stallion. ^_^

RP:
Ichthian entered the small sea cave that served as a shelter and a living room for him and Menthe. Fresh from the mornings grazing, he was looking forward to some much longed for family time as his sons were both visiting for the day and night before returning to their respective territories. He scooted over to his lovely mate and nuzzled her a "good morning". "Good day dear. How are our children, off gallivanting for the moment I see." he said glancing about his humble abode, devoid of offspring for the moment. "Hopefully off mare hunting, although there are not many in the vicinity, more so stallions than anything come to think of it. Although a young silver haired mare has been about, nice sort that one. Ooo a father can hope." a devious smile crossed Ichthian’s face.

Clover waited for his brother to enter their childhood home. A small smirk on his face as clung to the coral above the cave entrance. This will be the best... Oh shiny. He starts to drift off towards a sparkling silver fish, completely forgetting about spooking his brother for old times sake.

Koralo sighed. It seemed he could put it off no longer. He had promised Ichthian that he would come spend time with the family when they got together. If only he could find a way to keep them from getting all love-y on him...

The seathi rippled his fins leaving the cozy comfort of his garden. The location his father had picked for his home was excellent for growing plants. Living nearby, but not too close, gave Koralo that same benefit for his garden. Soon enough his familiar childhood home came into sight. Nostalgia stole over the young adult as he gazed at the plants spread about. Was that one there new? He didn't recognize it.

Swiftly he went inside. Not noticing his older brother lurking around. "Father? Mother? Are you home?"

Menthe smiled at Ichthain. "Clover was just outside, waiting for Koralo to show up. You know how he is." It was good to have their boys visiting at the same time. She shook her mane at her mate’s need for the boys to find a mare.

"Silver haired and nice, huh? Are you looking for someone new?" nuzzling him as she knows he is looking for the kids.

"Not for me, no dear you hold my heart everlasting. But our sons are old enough to settle down you know that. And that long-haired son of ours resists me at every suggestion, drives me up the cave wall", he nudged his mate, assuring her she was the only mare for him.

"In here son" Ichthian called, squirming in delight that he hadn't had to bodily force his son to come to the mini family reunion. He scooted closer to the outside of the cave pulling Menthe with him. His son deserved a proper loving welcome, even if the lad never did keep his hair at a decent length. He grabbed a small rare plant in its small decorative pot as a welcoming gift. He knew his son loved plants, but to have your entire life revolve around your garden was a little much. Any way he wanted to start this encounter off on the right leaf.

Koralo wiggled his fins. Oh he really hoped he wasn't interrupting anything. >.> Still when his parents appeared in the room he put on a big smile. "Mom. Dad. It's so nice to see you again. I thought Clover was to come too. Has he not shown up yet?" He noticed the plant his father grabbed; his eyes widen with interest.

Turning at the sound of his father's voice, the young seathi pushed himself back to the cave. He missed this chance to put the 'rare' plants at the cave entrance and watch Koralo inspect the squirming life. Grabbing a purple rock, Clover entered the cave.

"Mom, I brought you something! Hi Dad."

"Mrrf," Ichthian said, mouth full of plant pot when, he saw both sons, at his door, he deposited the plant before his son and scooted away, saying over his shoulder, "That is for you Koralo, Tapenweed I believe it is called, very rare and has medical properties, so I have heard. Clover, I have something for you as well, he picked up a shiny black piece of obsidian a type of volcanic glass and deposited that in front of his other son.

"I know silly." Turning she gives Koralo a huge grin. He looks so happy. "Clover will be... Right here it seems. What did you bring me this time?" Even as a little seathi, her oldest boy seemed to be easily distracted by shiny objects and never grew out of it. "Your dad was just looking for some females to introduce to you boys." A small twinkle in her eyes as she looked to her mate, "Right, dear?"

Clovers eyes widen at the stone. "I have been looking for something like this every where!" He would have found it too, if the sun hadn't glinted off the water that one day. "Hey Koralo. I left your item out in the plants. This if for you, mom." dropping the rock he brought in.

"Ahem, sadly I only found stallions close by, a female here or there, actually there is a silver haired beauty not far from here..." he trailed off as he caught the respective bored and distracted looks from his sons. "Hey I'm trying to help here."

His brother came in right on cue it seemed. Koralo shot his brother a glare. He didn't have anything to give his mom. Drat him. Maybe he could do something instead. Against all instinct he went up and affectionately nuzzled Menthe. "Good to see you mom." It wasn't an item, but she should still like it. Trump that brother. Koralo smirked. He was then surprised when Clover said he'd left something for him out in the plants.

Reverently he curled his tail around the small plant. "Wow dad! This is great! I know exactly where I'll put it too. I've heard about these, but never thought I'd actually have one for my garden. Wow, I can't believe it." He cooed softly at the plant and watched it wave a moment. Glancing up he spotted the piece of obsidian Clover was getting and snickered.

"What?!" Koralo squeaked with alarm. More females? "Not again dad." He just couldn't get why his father insisted on him meeting female.

“That female is just to the left side of your brother's garden, not that he notices her if my mention has brought no reaction." he said.

"Why don't you to go find what Clover left out in the garden, your mother and I need to discuss something". Ichthian, brows furrowed, retreated deeper into the cave his mind's gears grinding away there was something here he just wasn't seeing, maybe he was purposely not seeing it, what if... NO that couldn't possibly be it... could it? Twitch...well that would explain the long hair. "MENTHE HALP!", he screamed to his mate.

"Silver?!" Looking up at their parents, one yellow hoof on the obsidian. He looked at the plant his brother had, but it held no interest. His checks did get rosy at the thought of a silvery seathi. "What mare will want to be with a gardener?" He smirked at his little brother.

"Where is this female at, Dad?" Giving Ichthian a nuzzle and his tail a squeeze, he looked slightly interested. Just not at the reasoning behind what else could happen with a mare.

Menthe tried to hide the giggle bubbling inside at how fast her mate went to talk about finding mates for their boys. Koralo's nuzzle shocked it out of her the giggle and she returned it. "Happy to see you too, son."

She gave a casual smile at Clover's gift. "Another one? You shouldn't have dear." Maybe Ichthian's mate searching wasn't a bad idea, the more she thought about it. Their oldest might be able to bring more around, then shiny rocks.

At her mate's call for help, Menthe shoos the boys back out. "Let us talk for a bit and then we can have a family swim or game of tag."

Koralo gave his father a curious look. First Ichthian insisted that he come, and now he had permission to make himself scarce. His parents sure could be odd at times. "Sure dad."

"Thanks for the gift... I think." With his father out of the room, he stuck his tongue at his older brother. "What mare would want a stallion that only wants shiny things?" With that he fluttered out to the yard.

Ok, Clover said it was an item. That meant it wasn't a plant. Koralo looked around for anything obviously out of place. He did several complete circles before realizing it. "Darn it Clover. Where is it?" Suddenly he had the suspicion his brother hadn't brought anything, but only said he had.

Clover shifted his eyes back and forth between his parents, something was going on and he wanted to know what. A quick nuzzle to his parents, he swims back out next to Koralo. "Have you met a mare that doesn't like shiny things?" Shrugging past his younger brother, Clover waited for the prank to start.

Laughing against the rock, Clover pointed towards some of the denser plants. He had placed the little animals on there, but they could of moved slowly away.

As his mate approached, he tried to hide the pained expression on his face he just couldn't hide it well. "Menthe have you ever noticed exactly how uninterested our boy is in girls. I mean it just clicked that he might... well he might be..." He whispered the last few words. "More interested in stallions, than mares." The proud seathi cringed. "Between him and Mr. Shiny I may never have grand children, but there is hope for Clover, if the girl is shiny enough, oh my word I'm too old for this mess." He looked imploringly at his mate asking with his eyes for love and support and perhaps most of all advice.

Koralo huffed at his brother and tossed his mane, letting the long locks float for a moment on the current. "Nope!" He could honestly say he hadn't, not for his father trying. "Have you?" He really doubted it. Clover was too busy looking for shinies to notice another looking for shinies.

"Ugh, why did you place it over there?" He swam over and nosed through the dense plants. It was so hard to see though them. "At least give me a hint. What am I looking for?"

Sensing something in her mate, Menthe nuzzled him. "No need to rush them into anything, and if he is... into stallions, will you love him any differently?" Her mother had told her that it was the males who craved children or grandchildren more than the females. "As for Clover, well we might have to put the mare in the right light. Don't worry, honey, you will have your grandchildren. Someday." She placed her check long his neck to soothe him.

"I have seen a couple looking at the ones I have grabbed." He didn't mention that one of those times, he grabbed something not so nice. "You are almost on top of them, brother of mine." A smirk along his mouth as the sea slug was inching its way towards Koralo's tail.

"Why do you think they needed to talk about without us?" He turned back to the cave, about ready to enter it to find out.

"Of course I won't love him any differently", now that he thought about it he wouldn't love Koralo any differently. "It just makes it that much harder to get grandchildren with... two stallions..." Ichthian put on a sulky face.

"Uh-huh." His brother was uttering non-sense again. Koralo wasn't so sure. Still he pushed around the fronds. There wasn't anything here but common plants. Looking up he shook his head. "Who knows? If it's a surprise you'll ruin it by going in."

The seathi watched his brother, curious if he would really go in. Completely distracted he didn't notice the sea slug until it touched his tail. Koralo yelped, "get it off! Get it off! Get it off!" He frantically zipped back and forth across the yard trying to keep the slug, now clinging to his tail, away from the plotted plant.

"Where is my strong stallion that I love? That sulk doesn't belong dear." Menthe moved back to regard him and smiled the small smile. "As long as he is happy, we should be happy for him."

Clover moved into the cave, lingering against the shadowy area, he looked back and snorted. Curiosity getting the better of him, the blue haired seathi moved farther in to see if he can hear their parents talking.

He just barely catches his father saying something about two stallions and grandchildren, when the yelp from his brother brings him racing back out. Clutching his stomach and spinning around while cackling, Clover somehow puts the dots together.

"I am, I am." He tried to put on a brave face in the realization. "Your right Menthe. Do you think he'll change his mind if we find the right mare?" Ichthian looked hopefully at his mate.

Koralo made a horrible face. It was icky and it clung to him. "What are you laughing about?! A nice brother would come over and lend his sibling a hoof!" He squirmed and tried to shake the slug off again.

Gasping to stop laughing, "But..what... would be the... fun in that?" Tears roll down his face, Clover finally swam towards his brother. "Stop moving so much." Reaching down he grabbed the poor slug with his teeth and placed it on the ground.

"That wasn't so bad was it?" He tried to hold back the giggles again, and failed. "You should have seen yourself!" Goes off mimicking his long haired brother.

She smiled at him, "You can hope it does, but I am not sure I would put to much in it." She turned sharply to the cave entrance as the yelp echoed in. Her eyes furrowed as it sounded like a mare caught in one of Clovers pranks. Menthe flitted out of the cave, searching left, right, and up for the mare. Seeing only her sons, she swam up to them.

"Did you hear a mare screaming?" Her brows furrowed even more at Clover as he started chuckling. "This is not funny. You should be helping that mare out. I know your father taught you better than that."

Koralo stared at his brother and knew he’d been pranked again. One of these days he’d get even. When his mother came out and started asking about a mare, the seathi stallion gapped at her wide eyed. It had been him screaming that whole time.

Ichthian followed his mate back out. He pondered the scene of his sons in the yard. It would have been like Clover to pull a prank on his brother about this time. Seeing the look on his younger son’s face, the proud seathi despaired.
