Sammy turned watching as Rain made her way over whistling ever so slightly, "Have a bit of a fall Rain? That's a nasty gash..." She reached over gently prodding the edge of the wound. "If we have a needle and some wire or something I can try to stitch it up, Cricket will have to do the rest for you when we get home."
If we get home
Turning away from Rain for the moment she watched Christof drop to the floor scribbling away like a madman, the more she watched the more she had to say she was impressed. Maybe inside of that messed up head the patchwork actually was learning something from his 'keepers'. "Well it seems like he's got this, the question is what comes next? We go where? And what do we find?"

"Uh.. yeah. I was in the water when the waves came. First, our ship crashed into the rocks, then I did. I was dragged behind them. Don't remember some of it. Suppose the ocean was feeling a bit kleptomanic because I awoke on the beach with my shoes, bandages and pigtail ties gone. Could have been worse, I suppose. I could have found myself at Davy Jones Locker. Nothing like sweaty socks to make a ghoul sick. Hope you fared better." Rain smiled at her Sammy, trying to lighten the mood some. Just because she felt and looked a wreck, it didn't mean she should act it. She would have to find her optimism again. It was really good at hiding lately.
"Anywhere but here is an improvement," Rain commented. The Cove, isn't that what the patchwork had said? The Cove didn't sound like it would be a dangerous place. She hoped that would be the case but knowing their luck.. there would probably be reaper ninja elves or something waiting for them.

"Dr. Hyde drugged half our ship telling us to eat and drink what ever he offered or we would ahem.." she paused to put on her most bland yet serious face, "Diiiiiiie." It was a rather good Hyde, you just needed to sound semi serious while having the look of complete disinterest to do it right. "So when our ship went down I ended up tumbling through the sea for a bit, woke up, passed out, woke up again. No real damage unless you count me still having half a lung full of water..." She smirked at the Davy Johnes comment, it would have indeed sucked to be stuck underwater for all eternity in a ghost pirates closet.
"Well we made it, and it seems that the patchwork has gotten something down, so we might just get out of here after all..."

Calder in no way took the threat from Sammy seriously. Pointing her weapon at him only caused the kelpie to narrow his eyes at her and glare. The fact of the matter was that Riley wasn't here, and if she wanted to swoon over the purple-skinned ghoul, she could when their lives weren't at risk. Right now, it was just them, and Calder felt they could at least muster up a response.
Carry, despite having been here and escaping, was no use. She was completely clueless and, sighing, Calder guessed there was no way to get any answers from her. Instead, he stepped aside from the keypad and went over to look at the paper that everyone was glancing at. It was nothing more than weird squiggles. Oddly, he sort of reminded him of his own native language, but he couldn't make heads or tails out of it. It was some secret code and, can you believe it, they had to decode something to get free. Running through a crumbling building just wasn't enough.
Thinking to himself, he tried to think of any possible answer, but it was Christof who was working out some strange wording and math. Seeing as the Igor was surrounded by smart people and was rather bright himself, Calder wasn't too surprised. Still, when he got up and thought of an answer in a short amount of time, Calder was blown away. Screw thinking Riley was a genius! Everyone should have been giving their praises to Christof instead. Why the heck did he need masters and mistresses when he was this bright?!

Carthusia stood by quietly, watching as the patchwork boil had entered in the code. Pride was very busy in her own head, trying to sort through, uncover and otherwise defog the rest of her memories. Whatever came from the jacket was very familiar, but she couldn't place it. She couldn't place any of it, none of the emotions, none of the feelings, nothing. She shook her head and walked over to Sammy and Rain, hoping to take her mind off of what was happening around them. "I'm glad you both made it down safely." she said, voice not quiet, but terribly exhausted. In truth, she envied the undead. They didn't have to feel tired. "The sooner we make it out of here, the better. I don't want to lose anyone else."

What ever glare Calder had aimed at Sammy it had little effect, mostly due to the tired state she was in. She and Calder could fight about nothing at all later. Right now she wanted to patch Rain up, go home, get the water out of her lungs and sleep for a long time.
Turning towards Carry she offered a small shrug, "I'm glad most of us made it period to be honest, I mean, I'm sorry about your friend who didn't make it, and I feel horrible about what happened to Emily. I had no idea that might have been her I heard shouting in the fog and stuff on the way here or I would have tried to help..."
Her voice trailed off and she looked down at her hands switching which was holding the handle of the mace, back and forth as if lost in thought. "Do we really want to leave here? We have to keep following that reaper and Jack knows what he has waiting for us on the other side of the portal." She paused again looking up at Carry dead in the eye, "You heard the recording, what ever happens now, we need an army and let's face it. We're one shitty rag tag army if we can even call ourselves that."

Carry looked back to the jacket in question, wishing something would come to her. Obviously she knew the man from the recording, or did at one point, but it was all lost to her now. Did he rescue her once, and now it was her turn to do the same? If so, why were they even here to begin with? What did these people want? The demoness shrugged and hoped Christof had gotten the password figured out. Pride wanted some good, old-fashioned revenge, and then a nice warm shower. She cast a look back at the portal, hoping something would come to her. "Maybe something good will come of it." she offered, hoping it was the truth. She wanted to try and lift the mood, just a little, with some positivity. Jack knew they all needed it.
Pride knew she was all but useless at this point and had nothing to offer to the others in terms of information or even raw power. She was Pride! She was supposed to have been slightly more powerful! But no, she felt just as helpless as a toddler throughout most of the trip. The demoness raked another hand through her tangled hair. "Whoever they were, they said they'd be watching, but what did all that mean..." came a mumble. Carry's eyes stayed focused on the ground. "I just don't know what they meant."

"What good will come of what? Us going through the portal? Odds are the reaper is still waiting on the other side. Forgive me for being negative, but sadly we still need to face him, for Emily."
Shrugging sadly she shifted to sit on a desk taking a seat, "Who ever it is, they probably have something to do with the Reaper who attacked us, and for that they need to go just as much as the Reaper."
For a moment silence fell between the two before Sammy raised a hand towards Carry, "My name is Sammy by the way, we've never met till now I guess."

The demoness shrugged at Sammy's question. What good would come of it? How in Jack's name would anyone know? She was supposed to be the one with all the answers, and yet Carry knew no more than anyone else in the room, and she hated herself for it. "Odds are... they're waiting on the other side." Her voice seemed hesitant as Pride gazed at the portal. Would Pesty be there? Would his friend? Was she playing right into their hands? What did this all mean? She wished she had a crystal ball, or the ability to time travel so she could meet her past self and give herself all the information she desperately craved.
Carry bowed slightly to Sammy in respect. "I'm sure you already know my name, but I'm Carthusia. Call me Carry."
The portal then flickered, causing the gazes in the room to focus squarely on it. What was that? ....low battery? What did that mean? Carry's first instinct was to look for a power cord. "What in Hell's Bells...?"

"Well I guess it's nice to meet you then Carry, I hope we both don't die before this is through and done." For a moment everything was semi okay, that was till the portal hummed to life and started to blink with a low battery sign.
"Oh you have got to be kidding..." Dropping her mace to the floor Sammy turned to look around the room. She noted the shelves, the desk, and the jacket on the table. Walking over she grabbed the jacket checking its pockets for something that might help.
"Rip this place apart till we find something that can charge this stupid thing!"

The Portal The symbol began to blink and then finally disappear, the humming growing softer and then... "Energy Syphon initiated. Source: High Tower. Estimated time: 10 seconds...9....8..." The humming grew stronger and the portal began to glow more brightly. "...3...2...1" "Charge complete. Opening translocation to: Dark Cove."

Carry's stomach felt like it dropped through the floor. The portal whirled to life after Sammy had sprung into action, emitting sounds she had never heard and yet found familiar. She shook her head and stepped up to the portal, gulping down the knot in her throat. "Here goes nothing..."

Barth started to give the portal a tentative tap when the message changed.
Oh. Good. Working again. Well, it wasn't any use staying in the crumbling laboratory with a fire raging overhead, he supposed.

The puzzle had been too confusing for Belladonna, so instead she had contented herself with hovering near Alessa and Siliya, standing over them to make sure nothing else happened because Siliya was already hugging the girl and the witch didn't want to interfere. She wanted a hug too, a really big one and certainly a few from a number of people, but right now was the time to hold everything in and try not to cry. Or break down completely. Something along those lines. So when the first portal had popped up with a low battery, the witch only gritted her teeth, dug her nails into her forearms and waited. And finally it recharged. And then it opened. And it was time to go.
"Alright ladies." She began, one hand reaching down to both girls. "You two ready for this? We should go now." She offered them both a smile before leading them over. "See you all on the other side." Belladonna looked at each person left, before nodding once and stepping forward and into the portal. Time to go indeed!
