Chief looked up gravely, answering questions in the order they had been given to him. "I don't know, Fumi," he sighed, using her name for the first time. "It was a stupid mistake, Ryan. Monica didn't have full training, so she didn't see the tripwire. She walked in, and the unit thought she was Ricky and attacked. Friendly fire." Chief was quiet. "It's... it's my fault. I'm the one that put her on the Madman case too early." He looked up, dark eyes blazing. "If you want Monica to have even a small chance at survival, and I know this will sound crazy, we have to find Ricky. Before he left TEAM he was working on... something. He may still have it."

"I-I'll try sneaking around since my ribbons won't be much help bloody," Her voice wavered as she spoke. She stood up and walked to the door way where Fumi was.

Chief pulled a LifePak from his bag- the latest invention from InventorsGirl. He pushed the blue tablet into Monica's mouth and forced her to swallow. It wouldn't save her life, but it would buy some time.
Monica gasped like a fish out of water as the tablet's effects swept through her body. The tablet numbed her pain and contained electricity to jump-start her heart a bit. "Wh...what's going on?" she said weakly. "I thought I was dead."
"It's okay, Monica," Chief said. "We're working on it."
In five minutes the effects will wear off, Chief thought worriedly. If Ricky doesn't show up, she's good as dead.

"I'm gonna go first alright?" Tsuki looked away from Monica.
((who wants to find Ricky first? i has a whole convo for tsuki and ricky planned out cuz i like to be prepared >.> just in case...... need duct tape on monday >.<))

Tears started to spill over her cheeks as Chief gave Fumi the indefinite answer. "No..." she murmured, half to herself. "She will survive... no, she will... she... she must..."
Fumi watched with tearful eyes as Chief gave Monica a blue tablet. She spluttered and weakly opened her eyes. Fumi jumped then, and gripped Monica's hand tightly. "Monica! Y-you'll be alright! I promise! You must survive, understand me? You must!" Fumi noticed then how tightly she was gripping Monica's hands, and hastily released it. Just then, Chief spoke, saying that the only way Monica would have a chance at surviving was to find Ricky.
Fumi blew up. She leapt to her feet, eyes bulging. "Find Ricky? Find Ricky? How the hell are we supposed to 'find' Ricky? He didn't even show up to this damn hell trap! You want us to find Ricky in five minutes? I know, Chief! I know when that damned thing wears off! And you want us to find him in that time? To hell, he could be in Botswania for all we know! And you want us to find him?!" she shrieked. In one corner of her mind, she knew that this much screaming wasn't helping anything, but she was just so angry.
Fumi stood, trembling with rage. She stalked over to the open doorway, paused, and turned back to Chief. She'd never spoken this harshly to him before. "I'll go. I'll try to find him. But if I don't, and if she-" she pointed to Monica, "-dies while you're still here..." Fumi hesitated, not wanting to continue. Deciding not to finish the threat, Fumi turned invisible and ran off.

Fumi stalked through the vegetation, still trembling. Find Ricky, Chief had said! How the hell was she supposed to find Ricky? Summon him with a whistle? Call him on his cell phone? She hadn't even thought about Ricky since he'd left T.E.A.M! In her frustration, Fumi focused all her power and thrust the air toward a sturdy, fat tree. Moved by the rage that powered her telekinesis, it creaked, snapped in half, and fell to the ground with a might WHUMP!
Fumi glared at the tree for a long moment, imagining it to be Ricky, then stormed off in the other direction.
((@ Banshee: You can find Ricky. ^_^ I'd rather just have Fumi storm around and destroy the forest. XD))

Monica struggled to turn on her side, but only succeeded in looking like she was having a seizure. "Wh-what's going on?" she whispered again. Already her newfound strength was ebbing.
"It'll be okay, Monica," Chief said, a little forcefully, but he couldn't even convince himself. Monica was probably a dead girl breathing.
