"Then I shall make it easier on you, Callysto. You don't want us to be together...fine." She sounded a bit childish, like a young girl pouting on the last word.
"I won't make you love me...like I have, and will always love you. You can go lust after whomever you want. I won't stop you." Tears welled up in her eyes again, and she gasped and shuddered a bit as she concluded; "A-and hurry up and clean up the blood...it's going to stain." She turned her back on Callysto and walked, stepping over the small puddle, to the door. She halted for a moment, not turning her head, but kept walking, slowly, as if expecting, and half hoping, Callysto to run and catch up with her.

"If you didn't want me to go, Callysto" Lillian said cruelly, still not forgiving the elf for what she'd done tonight, "Then you should've been there at the altar. I can assure you if you had been, we would not be in this mess."

She still hadn't turned her face to Callysto, for she didn't want Callysto to see that it was covered in tears. She was going to walk about with her head held high and proud.

"Well if you kenw that in the first place, then WHY would you have proposed! WHY lead me on, when...when you KNEW I've already been hurt so badly!"

Lillian remained standing still, like she was frozen, the only part of her moving were her hands, balling themselves up into fists.

"I felt like a FOOL! Do..do you even KNOW what...or..how, I've ever felt about you?! DOn't you understand, I LIKE taking risks! Not life-threatening, not extremely dangerous ones, but I've traveled the WORLD! My life has been in danger before, and I think...I think I can handle dealing with someone I love..for love's sake!"

Why should I feel bad? Lillian thought as guilt consumed her. It was Callysto that left me at the altar...I didn't do anything to her. She stood ME up. If she didn't want me to leave her, then why would she desert me? Isn't that just double-standards?
"If..If you didn't want this..Then you should have never left me in the first place. I'm not crawling back to someone who..who doesn't want me..or..or love me unconditionally. If you t-think I deserve better, than it only proves you don't understand that..that there IS no one for me but you..and..and until you can accept us..then I'll let you be. But..but don't lead me on ever again. Don't cry when I leave, don't say you love me, if you stood me up. "
She said this, her voice shaking, in an attempt at voicing her feelings, but they didn't come out right. If Callysto had truly loved her, and would've let her mourn her loss and not come after her in the corridors, not letting her be, and still refusing to marry her.

"Of course. Which is why I was there tonight. Would you marry me, though? Apparently not." With this, Lillian began walking down the corridor a bit faster this time, holding her gown up a bit higher, careful not to trip and stumble again.

"No. You wouldn't. Because you turned down the chance when it was right infront of you. And Superman is supposed to be a hero, loyal and trsutworthy...I don't know if I can trust you..not with something as important as my heart again. But I will always love you, whether I want to or not. And I'm glad you sound happy" Lillian trailed off, not understanding Callysto's laughter to be because she was distraught since Lillian had her back turned, "Because I can't be. At least one of us is."
She hung her head down low, scuffed the floor with her shoe and waited for Callysto to say something.

Still refusing to look at Callysto, still too hurt, she said quietly, "Nothing you say would make me stop loving you, Callysto."

Lillian struggled to keep her face impassive and not look at Callysto, but as the long seconds passed, she couldn't help but look down into Callysto's eyes. Lillian's own eyes were red and puffy, swollen-looking, with dried tears still caked on her cheeks.
"They were abusive and terrible to you. And I already told you.." She took a huge swallow now as though her saliva was stuck in her throat.."What's life without some risk. I don't believe you'd kill me Callysto."
