Petro looked downright scandalized by Tari's suggestion of any female wanting to ride his back. Well, not so much scandalized inasmuch as outraged. He was about to wrench his arm free from her grip when she let go. Before he got to tell her that no, no female in her right mind would ever want to ride him, the sphinx had announced she was leaving.
As was the marid. He handed her things back, seemingly no longer wanting his help. His anger properly dissipated, he spied Tahki resting. "Y'gonna be okay? D'you want me to wait up for you, 'fore I head off to the island?

The gryphon gave Petro the kindest smile she could given her beak. With a yawn she got up and padded over toward Petro and gave him a nuzzle to the head in thanks. Pulling away the gryphon gave Petro a look with her eyes that could almost say 'I'll be fine'.Oh how Tahki missed her voice. Funny she never thought she would miss the dang thing. Tahki hardly ever used it.
If any trees attacked the gryphon was almost confident in her ability to protect her self. Strange, Tahki felt a lot braver in full monster form.

The spiked maned boil gave the gryphon ghoul a small grin, not doubting she would be able to fend for herself. After all, if he managed to deal with one in his human form, surely she could in her more impressive real form, couldn't she? All the same, he wished her "Be safe." And then he left for the Island of Misfit Toys.

Whether the figure in front of her really was a student or some odd reflective mirage, Adelle quickly lost sight of it, halting in her steps and casting her gaze around. The tracks were even more muddled here, and she sighed and scrubbed roughly at her scalp, letting her hand rest in a tangle of hair near the base of her skull while she leaned over to check. Smatterings of further battles showed, slushy where something had fallen and crawled away. What were they battling all the way out here? She licked her lips, tongue flickering out longer than the gesture required, but the cold was killing her sense of smell, and the deprivation proved unnerving.
A rustling at her back had the girl whipping around on reflex, brandishing her wreath and trying not to overbalance. Stupid, that's what she'd proved herself to be by leaving her whole flank open to attack. She loosed a bone-shattering hiss of warning, silently hoping her pack would add more padding in the event of a skirmish just as something massive emerged from the cover of trees. Her extended arm dropped a few inches in shock, eyes flying wide as the behemoth thing tottered gracelessly toward her. The gorgon wavered between taking a step back and holding her ground, having little time in which to decide. It took those sparse seconds for the strangely arranged features on the face to register, longer still to spot the eyepatch hanging dismally from an ear fin, but it was his enthusiastic greeting that confirmed everything. "... G?" Her tone was guarded better than her body, because his nudge sent her falling back into an awkward sit, momentarily dropping her weapon to grab his face and hold him at bay. "Okay, yeah, hi, good to see you too." The words all blended together, one of her fingers dangerously close to poking into a slit nostril. Sniffing was socially acceptable and all, but only if he didn't do it to her. "I'm fine G, lay off for a second, would you?"
When he fell back slightly, she wiggled into a more comfortable position, unabashedly observing the changes that had been wrought with a penetrating curiosity. He was taller than usual by a number of feet, and definitely wider than she recalled. A little more feral in some aspects, but otherwise not all that incomparable to the swamp beast she'd come to know. This version wouldn't have fit in the train car if he'd curled into a ball and rolled through the door, that was clear. His question made her pause in her thoughts, glancing over her shoulder to where the tracks continued. "No. Don't think so, though. Signs of fights in a few places, but nothing too bad. What happened to you, anyway? You're sorta... hulked out."

The break had proven to be a good one. No trees had dared attack the gryphoness and that aws just fine with Tahki. Her group mostly seemed to have headed off to the island of the misfit toys so the gryphon figured that would be the placed to head to.
Wings spread out and Tahki had gone off, gliding toward where her friends probably would be.

Whoops. When his face was clung to with small, agile hands, the swamp beast reluctantly held himself still so that Adelle didn't have to fall over all the way and land in the cold, white stuff. Maybe it might have been fun, though--G was distracted enough to give it an appraising look and another snuffling snort, but ultimately decided there would be time for that later. What was important was that he'd found someone, and apparently she was just fine!
He took another awkward step backward when her words really sunk in, offering a guilty bang of his tail while still somehow managing to not look very sorry at all. This was all very good, of course!
"Fights?" The proud expansion of his fins promptly wilted, and the monster uncertainly glanced around. After the Battle of the Bands, Gargantuan was done with fighting forever, he hoped. The train had been an exception, but whatever the hoofed creature had been, well, it had ran away! G guiltily remembered that it would be good of him to say sorry if he ever saw it again.
After all, he'd been smacked a few times for showing up unannounced, too. That meant he had a special bond to the bedsheet ghost!
There was a bewildered rumble at her question, and Gargantuan paused to eye himself a little more closely. "Dunno. Pin not work. G look like this outta school." His toes wiggled happily in the white fluff at the thought; it was really too bad that he couldn't be this way all of the time!

At least he was quick to listen, Adelle reasoned, lightening her grip and finally taking her hands back when he became distracted by the snow. Snorting under her breath at his darting focus, the gorgon slowly drew back up to a stand, watching him out of the corner of her eye in case he got excited again. His tail thumping against the ground earned a shake of her head as she dusted the stingingly cold flecks off her flank and leggings, leaning to grab her pack and the dropped wreath when she was done. Despite his obvious discomfort, Adelle answered his question in an even tone, not entirely certain what his problem was. He'd been one of the first to rear up in the train car and fight back, after all. "Yeah. With... something. Might be more of those four-legged ghosts, but I can't tell." She gestured to the strewn tracks, inviting him to come up with something more concrete if he could, though she rather doubted it. Hard to follow prints without eyes, but some sense had to work as a substitute, even if she wasn't sure which. His ability to detect through smells seemed pretty likely, constantly inhaling to get a feel for the area. "You're gonna get that stuff up your nose." She warned, adjusting her wrinkled scarf and glancing out ahead. Definitely no movement there anymore. Jackdamn it.
Soft rumbling drew her back to her companion's scrunched-up face, and his explanation made her own brows knit, turning once again toward the beaten trail. His pin wasn't working? Then that might have meant that no one's was, at least not the way they were intended. That solved her confusion regarding hoof and pawprints somewhat, but not so much the furrows where the earth had been churned up and tainted the pristine whiteness of the upper crust. Not unless G had been circling around for a while, stopping to roll around every now and again.
"Name suits you even b-better now." She remarked offhandedly, almost biting into her own tongue when the cold elected to settle into her jaws and make them rattle. A muscle jumped in her cheek as she brought it back under control, clenching her teeth hard enough to create a dull ache. Just perfect. If she bit off her tongue, she could be mute and he could be blind. They'd be a crippled Christmastime crime-fighting duo.
"Let's get going. S'friggin' freezing." The words came out as a snap, brooking no argument as she started trudging forward, head down to watch her feet. Moving was the best way to warm up again, her hands flexing to keep the blood circulating. If they kept going, they would have to find their destination somewhere up ahead. Eventually. That grudging thought was imbued with all the optimism she could muster.

What...I don't even....
The were-beast stirred suddenly from her keep, shuffling and ripping apart the tents innards until deep blue fur flickered between strips of brightly colored latex--Or was it plastic? Either way the tent was in ruins and she, Natalia, flattened out on her back for several seconds in quiet, sweet relief.
"Air..." her voice, deep and slightly muffled, was also very hoarse from slumber. The monster was glad to have finally escaped her enclosure but was, as most are with sleep, at a loss. Finding it entirely overrated, seeing that she had missed almost every attack and with them her chance of helping, the were-lemur jumped to her feet and scanned the area...
No one.
Not a soul--but there were remnants of them, left along the soft soil in the form of foot prints. In an attempt to not be left far behind, the girl took to the trails on all fours.
((Off...to somewhere. I'll edit this when I figure that out XD))
