The ki ball exploded prematurely behind her head. for whatever reason, her ki was now unstable. she compensated for this failure, and tried again, forming the ki ball, and drawing it back behind her right temple. she was so close, and she wasn't about to give up now.

Selena brought her ki ball across her body in the traditional back hand method, and crushed her ki ball in half. the pieces flew off towards the tree with all haste, and re-instilled vigor. the halves flew in a looping double helix pattern, 'feathers' trailing behind each half. the left half hit first as usual, leaving a large crater in the face of the tree. the left half looped away, and started circling the tree like a shark. the right half hit next, and hit opposite the first crater, this recent crater being on the rear side of the tree. the halves were circling at a 12 and 6 pattern as the tree was oozing sap like hell, trying in vain to heal the ferocious wounds this psychotic woman had inflicted on it. the halves continued to circle as they rose in the air, increasing their speed and tightening their orbit until they fused together above the tree. the fused orb launched itself straight down at the tree with unforeseen velocity, ripping the tree in half, and exploding, reducing the remains to toothpicks.
Selena had already set up a ki ball and was currently aiming at her next target. she held no expectations for this attempt, she just hoped it worked.

Selena felt her ki ball melt from her grasp. she had felt it almost reach adequacy, and then wane at the last second. she would not fault herself or her ki for apprehension, and began to power up. she needed more ki to perform this technique, so she could learn it.

She flashed a ki ball into her left hand, watching the feathers swirl around her as she brought the sphere behind her right temple. she was so close, certainly two more successful shots would be enough to have mastered this technique. she took careful aim, and prepared to fire.

The instability of her ki once again presented itself. Thankfully, her ki could not hurt her in this state, but the insult was there. she could do nothing but swallow her pride, and try again. she brought her left hand (armed with a ki ball) behind her right temple. she took aim at the tree that was currently eluding her, and prepared once more to fire.

She witnessed the halves she crushed fly off towards her leafy foe, and could practically see the splinters flying already. however, fate once again pulled a cruel joke as the ki ball halves dissipated harmlessly at the last possible second of impact. she looked on in horror, and still managed to bring forth a ki ball, and position it behind her right temple. Where does my ki get off pulling this s**t?! I will NOT be Denied!!! she took aim at the very lucky piece of foliage, and prepared to fire.

Selena backhanded nothing, and crushed her ki ball in half. it flew in a double helix pattern once again, and flew true. her ki would take no more of this tree's jive.She watched as the left side hit first, striking the front of the tree, making a large crater in it. the impact was so fierce that it left a head sized crater in it. the half just stayed there as the right half did the same on the opposite side. the tree was positively GUSHING sap, and looked very pale at this point.the halves seemed to do something weird, as they established a magnetic link, and proceeded to pull together, burrowing their way through the tree at a rapid pace. once they fused back together, the reformed ki ball exploded, cutting the tree in half. Selena powered up the whole time, knowing that she needed more ki for continued attempts. one more to go.

Selena prepared herself for what could possibly be the final shot. all her efforts had culminated to this one moment. she had trained long and hard, harder than she had EVER trained before.she had suffered through HOURS of failure and regret. several trees had given their lives for the fruits of her labors. she put her left hand in front of her face, grasping at the ball she always knew was there. Angel feathers fell from her hand as she culminated her ki, and swirled at the familiar 45 degree angle. the speed this time was a mighty typhoon of wind, making the feathers inside look like a golden-white blur. all the feathers in the tempest came together, and formed the ki ball. she stared at the ki ball for a long time, remembering that once, even THIS simple task was out of her reach.A smile was brought across her lips as she thought of how angry she was at her ki and herself, that such a simple task was being so difficult. she brought the ki ball back behind her right temple, feeling the calming presence that her ki had. how many times had she done this very motion, only for it to end in failure and crushed, inadequate, ki balls? more times than she would like to admit. she scanned the landscape for one last tree. trees, what did she have against them anyways? 11 trees had died for her cause. the first had it easy, it was a quick procedure. later trees got entertainment by watching Selena repeatedly fail to hit them, and on a few occasions, watch the ki ball travel the distance to them, and just go away.So close. one more, and this nightmare can end. she took a deep breath, as she aimed at the tree she would destroy. it was a perfect tree for this. it was 3 ft. thick, and 10 ft. tall. ti was a full, healthy, stout tree. one that wouldn't break easy. she would relish in destroying it. she took one more deep breath, and prepared to fire.

As Selena brought the ki ball across her body, she could swear she saw it grow eight mini wings. the wings were folded across the 'face' of the ki ball. As she crushed it, she smiled and said the words she needed to say: the name of the technique."Seraphim's Embrace!" she crushed the ki ball, sending the two halves flying towards the wayward Tree. the halves flew in a mighty double helix, feathers flying off of them like a bad pillow. the left hit first, punching a hole straight through the front of the tree. sending splinters flying behind it for a yard. the left half looped back around after it passed through, allowing the right half to punch through the tree sideways. the tree now had one hole facing each cardinal direction, and the center of the tree was oozing thick blue sap through hopelessly destroyed ventricles. the coloration did not however fade as the others did. it was too big for that. the Ki ball fused together above the tree, and once ti did, the wings on the ki ball opened up, and began flapping. it pointed straight down, and the wings bent back behind the ball, as it plummeted with astounding speed. it punched it's way all the way through the tree, and rested in the cavity the halves had created. the wings folded one last time, and opened with tremendous force for such small wings, as it exploded in a concussive blast that had a good 3 yard radius. The tree had been blown in half by the blast, cleft in twain by the Seraphim's Embrace. Selena smiled with joy as her tail flitted about wildly with glee. she walked back at a brisk march, satisfied that she had completed her training. "Now my son. It's your turn."

Lite woke up from his long sleep, stretching his lean muscles. he did a few squats, and generally did a full body stretch. he took a few steps outside, and saw the blue terrain, reminding him that he was not on Nexum. he took a short look around, and saw Selena waiting patiently for him, fully dressed. "Hey, Mom! how's it going?"
Selena smiled as she clenched her hand "Lite,my son, I am going to help you learn a new technique. It is called vanishing." Selena described the technique in full, and in terms that Lite could understand. once she had explained in full, she adopted a offensive pose. "Prepare yourself!" and with that she charged at Lite, giving no further warning.
Lite fell into a defensive pose, and prepared for the coming onslaught. he knew that his mother wasn't going to take it easy on him.

It was clear how out of practice she was at fighting actual opponents. She tripped seconds before she reached the defensive form of Lite, and she saw him see the opening. she was too off balance to resist the in-suing blows from her son, and she only briefly saw a flash of white and black as he took advantage of the opening.
He waited for the impact from his mother, as he concentrated his ki into his muscles to give him the agility he would need. he saw her stumble, and knew he had to take advantage of this opportunity. he attempted to vanish towards his stumbling opponent, and surprisingly, succeeded. He lept forward in a blur of movement, his ki propelling him faster than he ever had moved in his life. he readied his left leg, and delivered a sweeping high kick to Selena's face, and followed through with a mighty, and momentumous, right hook. this sent Selena flying, spiraling in a corkscrew several feet away, and landing her on the hard ground. Lite wanted to rush towards his mother, but knew that would not be met with praise. as such, he instead charged his mother, and found her charging right back at him. he prepared to counter her blows as he prepared to Vanish again

Selena couldn't land a hit. the tiger genes in her son made him lithe and quick. she couldn't keep up with his movements. all she could do was take the hits that came, and try again. she was happy that her son was having more luck with his training than she had with hers.
He felt the Ki within him assist him in his training. he felt completely in tune with his body as he dodged every attack his mother threw at him. he proceeded to once again give momentum to his attacks by using vanishing. he flipped several timed in the air before delivering a flying missile drop kick to Selena's chest. using the momentum of the jump, he dashed forward, grabbing Selena by her right shin, and slamming her front-first into the ground behind him like a large hammer. he could feel the mastery of this technique course through him like blood, and prepared himself for the attacks to come.
