"If you want to see the newest addition to the ranch," Daeron suggested, trying to be helpful, "Alyse and Timaeus have another daughter, Brooke ..."
"Ah, yes," Earendil beamed. "She's a sweetheart, a bit quiet like Jasmine but very sweet once she gets to know you."

"We saw her for a small bit when we first arrived," Lin explained, "She's very adorable."
Though they didn't stay long enough to get to know Brooke long.
"Maybe we could drop by the stable again and see if Aethos is done his lessons and maybe chat with Elberon... maybe."
As long as he didn't ask too many questions, though she would think he would have run out of questions by now.

Earendil chuckled. "She is. We could check out the stable again, Aethos might be done by now - and you would be interested in seeing him, I think, he's so different now from what he used to be."
He grinned. "So, the stables it is, then?"
"Have fun!" Daeron smiled.

"We will," Lin grinned back as she took Miyuki's hand.
Miyuki in turn reached out for her ada's hand, she liked it when they were all together like this.
"See you later!" the little girl told Daeron.

"Bye," Daeron waved at Miyuki. "Come again!"
Earendil chuckled. "I'm sure we will," he grinned.
Miyuki's hand in his, he led the way out of the barracks and back outside. A brisk wind had picked up while they had been inside, and he pulled his cloak a bit tighter around himself. Clouds had rolled in, and he looked up at the sky thoughtfully.
"I think it just might snow this evening," he murmured softly.

"It does look like it doesn't it?" Lin asked looking up at the sky.
It had been a long while since she had seen enough snow to play in.
"I wonder how much."

"Not a clue," Earendil had to admit. "I haven't lived in areas like this nearly long enough to be able to predict snowfall. It just smells like it to me."
Though he was certain it would snow.
"We could ask Elberon," he added as they headed into the stable once more. "He would know. He's been here half a century already."

"Yes, he would know," Lin agreed.
The moment they stepped inside, she looked around for any sign of Elberon. He was always a lot of fun to talk to, even if he was sometimes to Lin a bit odder than Halmir. Of course, as an adult, Lin knew she only thought that because Elberon's curiosity once cost him a finger or two.

Earendil looked around as well, and when he spotted Elberon leading a horse towards the stalls, he pointed him out to Lin. Aethos was also there, on the other side of the arena, looking as if he were on his way out.
"Who do we catch up with?" Earendil chuckled softly, looking down at Lin.

That was a good question, both men in question they would have plenty of time to catch up later, especially since they all needed to brush up on their horse back riding.
"Hmm... how about Elberon?" she suggested finally.

"Works for me," Earendil agreed. "Come on, then, there's a shorter way to the grooming room."
He led them into a different hallway and down to the room where Elberon did all of the grooming, and by the time they arrived, he had already removed the horse's saddle and was in the process of brushing it down.
He looked up from his work as they entered and smiled at them. "Afternoon," he greeted them warmly. "Long time now see. How have you been?"

"I've been doing well thank you," Lin smiled.
Miyuki looked up at Elberon, he seemed really friendly and at this point she was getting quite comfortable here. So she waved at him.
"Hi, I'm Miyuki but you probably already know that."

Elberon chuckled at Miyuki. "Indeed I do," he agreed. "I have learned quite a bit about you, I have to say. You are quite adventurous, it seems. Would you like to help me to brush down the horse? He is quite tame."
Earendil smiled down at his daughter. "Go on," he urged her. "It's all right."

The horse was huge, and what Miyuki didn't know was that these horses were probably larger than the ones that existed in Gaia. It would make sense after all, elves were tall beings, they needed bigger horses.
"Okay!" Miyuki replied stepping forward.
She hadn't seen a horse since she went to Amon Darthir.
"What do I do?"

Elberon grinned and reached to the shelf behind him where there were other grooming tools.
"Here," he said, holding out a brush to her. "Hold this and brush like this ... good and hard."
He moved the brush in short, firm strokes against the horse's leg, showing Miyuki how to do it.
"You have to put some strength into it so that it feels good for the horse," he explained. "If you don't, then it's an irritation. And it's going to smell a bit, but we have to brush until all his sweat is gone."
