With the night descending and the air growing colder, Blade shivered lightly in his sleep. However, he remained in a relatively restful state, not stirring for the time being. A myriad of dreams invaded his mind, with nothing really settling there. The events going on in his head simply shifted from one to another, whether it was good or bad.
Eventually, he did awaken though, thanks to the hunger and thirst that plagued him. It took the man a moment or two to remember where he was and what had transpired that day. There were no windows in his line of sight, but it wasn't hard to tell that the land had darkened around them. Travelling out there now would likely be suicide for him.
At first, he was about to get up, but refrained as it seemed Riyo was still asleep. Instead, he just lifted his head slightly, watching her while thinking of a few various things. Troubles that had washed away what seemed like ages ago were now trickling back to him. If only they had stayed away, for now the moments of bliss before seemed rather surreal.
But for now, he just took in a deep breath and continued to relax. He was still fairly worn, and there wasn't anything they could do at the moment regarding food. The thief also had to wonder if anyone was seeking them out... whether they were friend or foe; either was possible at this point.
It'll turn out alright.. he tried to tell himself, Just.. gotta take this as it comes.
Lightly, he placed his hand over Riyo, hoping her dreams were at least less troublesome than the thoughts running through his mind.

Riyo's eyes reopened when the sun decided to peek over the horizon. She would've slept longer, but like Blade, her stomach was completely empty and about to start eating itself.
The first thing she saw was whatever she was laying on. This pillow-like object with a more peachy color that emanated warmth. "Nn.." She lifted her head and sat up groggily. It was frigid in this room. Oh, wait. She was naked. That might've been half of the reason.
Her mind slowly started to tick with memories of the previous night. The day didn't seem to matter anymore, or even where they were.
"Oooooh, Riyo's a bad girl now." A masculine voice taunted.
Her tail curled up around her lower form while her legs came up to her chest. She rested her head on her knees and stared off into space. The actions from last night echoed through her head... Though she couldn't quite tell if it had been a dream or reality anymore. Sure felt like it was real, considering how sore she was.
So was it good or bad? She'd gotten what she wanted... And gotten herself into quite a quandary in the process. Yeah, it had been nice. More than nice, she supposed... But could she really keep doing this with the risk of getting so close to somebody with the chance there'd come a day you never saw them again?

For the rest of the night, Blade was drifting in and out of sleep. It was hard for him to stay asleep with his body deprived of food and with a number of things going on through his mind. So when Riyo moved from his chest, he stirred and looked up at her. With a groan, he pushed himself up into a sitting position, feeling sore and hungry.
Glancing to the side, he took note of Riyo's posture. She seemed to be relative deep thought.
"Riyo?" he said softly with concern. His voice was a tad hoarse, seeing how he did scream and shout a fair deal the day before, "Are you alright..?"
Shivering, he rubbed his arms lightly before gingerly stretching out some. A few of his joints popped from the movement. Aside from all the activity yesterday, sleeping on a cold wooden floor did not make his body very happy.

Riyo's head turned around just enough to look at Blade, though her mouth was hidden behind her arm. There was something odd in her eyes that wasn't usually there, though it was hard to pinpoint exactly what it was.
Without so much as a word, she stood up, cringing slightly and wobbling a little before trying to walk. Her underwear was thrown back on rather quickly before she finally turned to face him. In a split second, she was right next to him, on her knees, pushing Blade down on the floor with her hands pressed on his shoulders. Riyo's eyes hadn't changed. They still held that somewhat creepy look about them, and they were looking directly into his.
"Lets dialog for a sec, Blade." It already sounded like it was going to end poorly. "What we did last night? I'm not gonna lie, that was pretty grand. Never felt so alive in my entire life. But here's the issue..."
A small smile crept on her face. It wasn't necessarily fake, more like one of those smiles of disbelief that just seemed to mix with the creepy stare for an added effect. "The more I think about it, the more I realize that while we can 'make love' in a literal sense, emotionally I have nothing to give you. Woman is a very hollow term for what I am, and doesn't even scratch the surface. One thing I know I'm not, though, is a lover..."
Her hands slowly let up and moved some hair off of his forehead. "I'm not a very stable person, Blade. Even now my mind is a heap of bad thoughts mixed in with conflicting childish ideas. So... I don't wanna get too close to you..."

Tilting his head, Blade tried to figure out what that look in her eyes was supposed to be. What was she thinking about? While he tried to figure out, he quickly found himself being pinned down by her. His dark red eyes widened a bit as he stared into hers, still rather unsure where this was all going. Whatever it was, it didn't sound like it was going to be good, though he didn't struggle to get out from under her.
"Riyo... you're my friend," he started softly, "That's already more than what I could ask for."
Even with that, he wasn't too certain where she was going with this. And that had him a little worried for what it could be.
After she had let up on his shoulders a bit, his gaze was cast to the side momentarily, "Unless.. you're saying that you don't even want that.. But... just to let you know, I don't care if there isn't or there will never be any romance involved. That's not what I'm looking for.. at least I don't think it is."

"Good." Riyo said simply and stood back up, a real smile leaking out from behind her serious expression. In a swift motion, she picked something up off the ground and tossed it at his face. "Might wanna put those back on." It was his boxers.
"Anyways..." She walked over to the fireplace as she spoke, grabbing her articles of clothing and slipping them on. "If I don't eat something before we start moving again, I'm going to fall over dead. So, I'm gonna catch something for us to eat instead." Zipping up her coat, she took a few steps towards the door and looked back. "Any requests?"

As Riyo let up and tossed his boxers into his face, he grabbed them and sat up. Blade was still a bit confused as to what brought all of that about but he went ahead and jumped back into his boxers.
"Anything edible is fine," he replied. The thief was starving as well, though unfortunately he wouldn't be of much help in terms of getting food in these lands. Hopefully Riyo would be able to manage that on her own. Though, before she could step out, he said one other thing.
"Riyo? Just remember, if you need someone, I'm here."

Riyo had been about to open the door until Blade made his little comment. She paused, contemplating a reply, but quickly walked out and slammed the door behind her instead.
Within the next 30 minutes, the door re-opened with a kick. Under one wounded arm was a pile of firewood, in the opposing bloody hand, the corpse of a previously white rabbit, and hanging from her mouth was another dead, blood covered bunny.
She wanted to just eat the damn thing so bad. Eating raw animals was no big deal for her. She'd done it many times and, though it didn't always taste the best, it filled her up.
Carefully, she tossed the wood down next to the fireplace and took the rabbit out of her mouth, holding both of them down to Blade. "... I dunno how to skin or cook them." She hesitantly admitted.

Cringing at the door slamming, Blade wondered if he had upset her with that last comment. While she was gone, he examined his wound, blinking as it appeared the cut was now sealed. Most likely he would risk reopening it still but the stab wound shouldn't be closed like that already, even with the stitches. Strange.
When Riyo had returned, the thief was completely dressed once more. The sight of the two dead creatures was quite a welcomed one too, even if they looked rather bloody at the moment.
Taking the two, he nodded to her before reaching back for his dagger. Blade paused when he remembered that he didn't have his weapons on him. That made him a little uneasy, and he was wondering where his sword was now... Not to mention that would make skinning a little harder.
Sitting down by the fire, he worked at trying to skin the rabbits by hand. It was definitely a messy job, and it would have been easier if he had at least a knife, but it wasn't impossible. He didn't really have a way to cut up the two critters either so he more or less tore them up. Using some of the firewood she had brought in, he skewered the meat and place them over the fire.
"It shouldn't be too long I think," he said as he looked down at his bloodied hands now. He thought of going to wash the blood off... but that would require him to go into the snow to do that. So... it could wait a little while.

Riyo silently observed Blade as he prepared the food, every action making her want to rip it out of his hands and just shove it down her throat. Her tail beat against the ground, and her eyes were big as saucers.
In order to distract herself from it, she began to lick the blood off her hands and face, grooming much like a cat would. When she was done, her eyes caught the red on Blade's hands as he looked at himself. "Aren't you going to clean yourself off?"

Glancing towards the side at Riyo as she addressed him, he paused for a moment as he saw how wide her eyes were at the moment. Shaking his head slowly, he watched her lick the blood off of her hands and face.
"Eh... I'll do that later," he said, "I'm not too eager to get back outside in the snow.."
The scent of cooking meat soon began to waft through the air, which triggered a rather loud rumble from Blade's stomach. Shifting in place, he waited for the meat to cook a little longer while resisting the temptation to just eat it right there. Pretty much the only thing that was stopping him was that he didn't want to end up getting sick out here from eating undercooked meat.

"B-but.. You don't have to go outside." Riyo's stomach seemed to respond to Blade's as it made it's own loud cry for food. "You can just lick it off, see?" She held up her squeaky clean hands as an example. "Or is blood another thing humans avoid for fear of sickness?" She asked in a rather unimpressed tone. Honestly, wasting good food like that...

"Not really.. I've just never really..." blinked Blade as he looked down at his hands again. He hadn't exactly ever thought of eating or licking up blood before. A good portion of that may have something to do with the fact that most of the time, the blood belonged to a person and it was splattered all over the floor or a weapon. But this was rabbit's blood. If he could eat the organs of the beast he should be alright with the blood too.
Hesitantly, he brought up one of his hands and gave it a lick. Well it had an interesting flavor to say the least and it seemed to be gamier than from what he's tasted of his own blood. Had he not been starving so much, he probably would pass on continuing to clean himself this way... but that wasn't the case. So, he just slowly went on to licking the blood away. He wasn't doing too great of a job of cleaning though.

Riyo watched rather carefully as Blade tried to clean off his own fingers. It was very amusing to watch him, since he didn't seem to be very good at it. Though she tried to hold it in, a soft giggle escaped her mouth.

Stopping as he heard a little giggle coming from Riyo, Blade slowly drew his hands away from his mouth. While he had gotten off a good amount, there was still a fair amount of blood left covering them.
"Ah.. that's.. good enough I guess," he uttered, feeling slightly embarrassed. He figured he probably looked a bit goofy while doing that, whereas it seemed almost natural when Riyo cleaned her 'paws' earlier.
