It was sort of a relief to see Jane taking it so well, but she still wish she had brighter news to tell him. It seemed somehow cruel to find out about your father only to find out that he wasn't around and was presumed dead. Blinking at the odd question, the bot rolled them to a stop in a lovely clearing that was surrounded by wildflowers of different shades and kinds. They were in the shade of a tree, leaning back more in her chair as she folded her hands together, touching them gently to her lips.

"Twelve years..." She murmured softly, forcing her mind to turn back to that time. Her head jerked ever so slightly as she heard that familiar giggle, a flash of a memory brushing past her eyes. No, don't focus on that. It wasn't what she was looking for. Her expression softened a little as she shook her head, "It's ok Jane. I understand your curiosity and I can't blame you for it. I just wish I had more pleasant news." She went back to her thoughts, only ending up with brick walls so to speak.

"I'm afraid I don't remember anything big happening. I mean, my parents were generally absent so it's not like I'd know if something major was happening and they made my brother and I were kept busy." She finally answered his question, her expression apologetic.

Jane smiled softly. "It's fine. I shouldn't expect all of the answers, all at once." He looked out at the flowers, wishing he could pick up a couple. Maybe he'd give them to her, as an apology. The boy sighed lightly, not sure what to say next. His fingers raked evenly through his hair, which had been washed once or twice since the last base.

His eyes looked over Nico again, wondering what it would like to be in her situation. She knew full well who her parents are, who they were. She had always known her name. But then again, she had to deal with who her parents were. Honestly, he didn't know which was worse.

"Still. Wish I could offer more." Nico insisted, wincing as she shifted the wrong way in her chair. As silence fell over them, she felt herself slipping into her thoughts. That giggle again, over and over... The smiles, the embraces, the tears, held hands. Her eyes shut, hearing the laugh. That little adorable infectious laughter. A gust of wind blew past them, the robot looking at her again. Shaking her head, she forced such memories away, knowing she couldn't do that forever.

Opening her eyes slowly, they remained half-lidded, staring at the stream off to their left. "In the end, I know you'll figure it out. If we ever have to go after Anton, I'll let you know. Perhaps you could question him. He is your uncle after all." She murmured, trying to make herself focus on his problems lest she drift too far. Her eyes opened all the way as she saw that flicker of movement out of the corner of her eye. Jane probably wouldn't have seen anything, her attention focused on it for a good couple of moments. Was she losing her mind? That cackle again. God, what was going on in her head?

"Are you alright?" Jane questioned suddenly as he saw the way she was moving. The light look of a memory. When the wind gusted, he thought carefully. "Is something troubling you?" He asked softly, honestly wanting to know. It was his turn to help.

Nico had to blink, snapping out of her concern over her current mental state, looking to Jane at his sudden question. "I... " She sighed, and debated on whether or not she should tell him. Honestly, she'd really rather not. As sort of leader, she'd rather them not see her weak or out of control or something. Then again, as her team mates, and friends, they deserved to know. Looking to her almost empty plate, she took a deep breath and made a decision, raising her eyes back up to Jane.

"My younger's power was his connection to a dragon he called Kaoru. They were hardly ever apart. So.... now my brothers gone. But I keep...." She ran a hand through her hair, brushing her bangs aside again. "I keep... thinking, that I see Kaoru fly past the very edge of my vision. Whenever I look to get confirmation, he's gone. I... I don't know if I'm just losing it, or if he's real. Things keep getting so fuzzy, and..." She lowered her eyes again, the bot observing the two of them silently. "Don't worry yourself about it, I'll figure it out." She murmured, still not comfortable with the thought of letting people into her life. It seemed to end... badly.

Jane sighed lightly at her response. His eyes glanced over her, and he suddenly grinned. "Does it matter if it's real or not?" He asked, thinking carefully. "If you believe it is real, then it is real. It is there. If you believe that it is imaginary, then it is imaginary. It isn't there. So...it is your decision. Perhaps if you decided, you might really find out."

What the heck had he just said? He was suddenly clueless, trying to figure out what he meant. "Please tell me you understood what I said more than I did." Somehow it made sense...but he wasn't sure what exactly he had been suggesting.

His response caught her off guard, tilting her head when he asked if it mattered. Well, to her it mattered. What the hell was he.... She stopped herself from leaping to conclusions, instead listening to his explanation. It made her smile, the briefest hint of sadness flittering across it. "Basically you were saying it's a matter of perspective and what I believe in. The only problem with that is, I have no idea what to believe." She answered, the bot moving to wheel her closer to the water.

She started to move to try to get up and the bot's eyes flashed a red, moving forward to stop her. "Just let me try." She muttered to it, wincing a little as she managed to ease herself to a half standing position. When she tried to stand on her own two feet again though, it was the same as before. Pain shot up her spine, her bum falling straight back into her wheel chair. "Ah well, it was worth a shot. Anyways, maybe once I figure out what I believe it'll sort itself out. Though, I get the feeling I get the fun pleasure of doing soul searching." The sarcasm practically bled from her voice at the last sentence, looking back to Jane with a smile.

Empty halls. Everywhere he looked was empty halls. Was no one there? Was there a reason for the void? No. Passing by an open room, he noticed Rob fuming. Smirking, he was surprised she'd listened to him. Shrugging, he continued walking. Was this his life now? Day in, day out, just walking empty halls, or sitting in his room? What was there to do anymore? He had no idea. Life was boring. Correction, his life was training, then boring, then training again. No change. Where's the spice?

Jane smiled softly as she explained what he had said. Right...that had been the right thing, then. "Might I make a suggestion? If it would make you have if it were real, just believe that it is real. That way, you can be happy." He wanted to add something, just one thing. She was cute when she actually smiled...but he wasn't going to say it. It wasn't his place to say. His eyes flitted as she attempted to stand, frowning as she fell back down. He wasn't about to even attempt, with the amount of blood loss that he had.

"Of course." Nico answered, falling silent as she listened to his suggestion. Her expression seemed to soften, but her eyes almost seemed sad. Though it may have just been a trick of the light. If it were real, that meant her brother was alive and around. She couldn't deal with that. Not again. If it weren't real, then she was hallucinating but at least she hoped Alden was at peace. "I'll think about it." She answered, aiming to at least be polite towards his suggestion.

The robot then leaned close to her ear and murmured something, making her sigh. "Well, it seems Gladys would like to remind us we should probably head back to the medical wing to get looked at and rest. Especially you. You were, and are, in worse shape than me. I'm sorry that I didn't do something sooner so that your injuries could have been avoided." She apologized again, the robot already moving to wheel them out of the gardens towards the elevator. From there, they would be off to the medical wing.

Jane frowned lightly at the fact that they had to head back. "It wasn't your fault at all. If it was anyone's fault, it was my own, for not retreating as soon as I found that they could shield against my power..." He seemed thoughtful, wondering how they did shield against him. Did it have anything to do with his uncle?

Nico sighed, and they were back to what was troubling her. "Still. I do wonder how they figured that one out." She murmured, glancing up to the regular beeps as they arrived on the right floor, their wheels soft on the smooth floor.

Two nurses came bustling up, all flustered about the two of them being gone for so long. "I'll see you later Jane. Rest up." She smiled and gave him a half-salute, the robot returning from whence it had come. And now...... ugh. She wrinkled her nose as she saw the hospital type beds roll by. She hated hospitals. She hated them so much. She wanted nothing more than to vanish back to her new room than have to stay here till she got better. Too similar an environment. Made her damned uncomfortable.

Jane, having relaxed his defenses while they were alone, concentrated again on not letting the nurses feel his pain, though the slightest bit still released. "It is worry some." He sighed lightly. "You get rest too. If Rob yells at you, send him to me." He grinned, winking to her as his nurse began to wheel him off.

He had taken a liking to the cieling. Well, rather, he found it more interesting than the empty hall. It was so pasty. So white. Squinting to see more detail, the dots in the tiling were brown, not black. Running into the wall, he gasped a little as he bit his tongue. "Gah...bawwit," he cursed unintelligibly. Closing his eyes as he felt the blood trickle out, he closed his mouth, swishing his saliva around the wound. The blood tasted like iron. The bleeding didn't stop though, he must have bit the vain. Cursing again, he headed towards the medical ward.

Begrudgingly, she moved into her bed, the nurse immediately moving to check her wounds. The woman began muttering about people being irresponsible and numerous other things what she believed was Japanese. If Nico were in a better mood, she'd be chuckling. But there was this one issue. She loathed hospitals. Always had ever since....

Closing her eyes, she wished she hadn't left her lap top back in that tech room. It didn't matter that it had been years, she still wasn't past it. Looking over to the bed next to hers, it was curtained off, but she could hear the rhythmic beeping of the monitor. She felt the flash of that memory, her hand clenching at her side. The nurse looked up, dabbing at the wound in her shoulder before redressing it.

"Come now dear, don't look so glum. We're doing the best we can for everyone. Is there anything I can get you? A book, your music, something?" She asked kindly, only the faintest trace of an accent in her voice.

Snapping out of her trance, Nico blinked and looked at the woman, bringing up a smile though she didn't feel it. "Um... Music and a book sounds great. Thanks. oh! Actually, could you also bring me my pistols, rapier, and daggers? I want to check and clean them if thats alright. Gladys can tell you where everything is." She asked, knowing at the very least she could drown out everything with her music.

The request was sudden and unexpected, the nurse almost starting to comment, but decided it was best not to. "I'll talk to her right away. It may take a few minutes." She answered before hurrying off.

Sighing heavily once the woman had gone, her head smacked into the pillow, staring up at the ceiling. Right now, she'd kill for the ability to work off stress by training. She was restless, her emotions were turning to dark places, her team was a mess, and she had no idea where she was going with all this. Where any of them were headed towards. Her music came by first, or rather, her datapad did. She reached around to the one side of it, seeming to draw out a hologram of a wire, clicking it to her ears. Headphones formed over her ears, immediately playing an old favorite. Flipping through some of the files, she settled upon a book, trying to quell her frustration at everything by diving into the story.
