Moni smiled some in his sleep at his back was rubbed, inhaling slowly and exhaling. He didn't wake until several hours later, opening his eyes and seeing Swiftfoot. He petted her gently before remembering that there had been a hand on his back. He turned and saw Fryma.

"Good morning. I trust you slept well? I would be careful with Swiftfoot. She is still a wild animal," he added kindly as the wolf took a playful, but still hard, snap at Moni's hand.

Moni moved his hand in time and smiled at her, being respectful and not trying to nuzzle her or anything. He again realized that he was once again covered in feathers in front of Fryma and got up, working at picking them all off.

Fryma smiled and patted Swiftfoot's head. "Time for a formal introduction. Moni, this is Swiftfoot, the new leader of the wolf tribe from yesterday. Swiftfoot, this Moni, the human I have chosen."

Moni blushed. Something about the way he said it, the human, made it sound permanent for him... but he'd die eventually, right? He couldn't just leave Fryma alone forever after he died. Moni smiled and waved a little to Swiftfoot, glad that she'd taken place as the new leader.

"Swiftfoot's been my loyal companion for a long time. She's one of the best friends a spirit, or anyone really, could have. She's kind but brutally honest, and she doesn't hesitate to let you know if you're wrong or if she doesn't like something." Fryma smiled as the memories of all the times the wolf had snapped at him for one reason or another came back to him.

Moni smiled, nodding though the question of his own mortality still nagged at him. Could he really do this, knowing that he would die eventually. And even worse: he would age. Fryma probably wouldn't want him as a middle-aged man or an old man who'd lost his teeth. What could he do?

Swiftfoot licked Moni's face as if to say, "It's okay" then looked at Fryma and nodded. Then, she licked both of them again, grinnig a wolfy grin.

Moni smiled and petted her lightly before cuddling into Fryma's side, putting aside the fact that he would die for later. Right now he would enjoy his youth while Fryma still wanted him.

Fryma smiled and wrapped an arm around him, kissing his hair. "I love you, Moni."

Moni blushed, snuggling close before getting a handful of feathers, spelling out his question. 'What about when I get older?' He looked up at him, looking lost and helpless.

"What do you mean? Are you worried that I won't love you when you're old?" Fryma smiled. "Moni, I will always love you. No matter what. Age doesn't matter to me, nor do looks. All that matters to me is you." Fryma hugged and kissed Moni, hoping he was comforted.

Moni blushed and let himself get taken away by the senses of the forest. Smiling some, he nuzzled him before another question came to mind. 'But... won't you be lonely when I die?'

Fryma thought about that for a minute. "Yes," he finally answered quietly. "I will be lonely. However, that won't happen for a very long time." Fryma tilted his head. "Why such depressing questions, Love?"

Moni bit his lip and kissed his cheek. 'I don't want you to be lonely ever. How can one small, human lifetime ever be worth an eternity of being lonely?' He hugged him sadly. His own mortality, simply being human, would hurt Fryma in the future.
