Hive Bomb- D
A Capsule-device about the size of a large water bottle, the Kikaichuu hive is able to hold and preserve a swarm of Kikaichuu insects. When held by an aburame, the insects are able to move freely into the hive, keeping it full at all times. Can be given to teammates, or hidden in tactical spots and then released (by remote or manually) to attack whoever it is aimed at. The swarm can latch onto an enemy and drain their chakra. (As if it were an E-ranked jutsu) The capsule must be pre-charged with D-rank chakra to keep the kikaichuu fed.
---------
I was thinking of the Bikouchuu quest from the series, and wondered. Wouldn't it be cool if Aburame could get other bugs to use as tools like that? Some of the bugs might be pushing it, but I thought it would be an interesting system and tool set. I'll make more, if this system would be a welcome addition to the POTS verse.
Would require an actual Bug-forest thread somewhere...
Quests:
C-ranked
To collect any bugs C-ranked or higher the collectors must go to the Bug Forest. Needs at least one Aburame to collect the bug. Once they make it there, they have 5 posts to find the bug. Every turn, they are to roll dice. If the proper number is rolled, the bug(s) is found. Can search for up to 4 total bugs per quest. (5 posts each)
Dice rolls:
C Rank - Roll 4 sided dice - 1=bug found
B Rank - Roll 6 sided dice - 1=bug found
A Rank - Roll 8 sided dice - 1=bug found
S Rank - Roll 12 sided dice - 1=bug found
Bug Container- D
A box used to hold up to 4 unusual bugs. Can hold any necessary food and/or water, to keep the bugs alive. Container has separate slots for each bug to keep them from attacking each other and allow them to be released one at a time. If destroyed, all bugs are killed. Only bug users can put bugs in container. Any ninja can carry.
Bikouchuu- B
Requires a quest to collect
The species lays eggs on very rare occasions, during a certain breeding season; a day following a rainstorm. Soon after one hatches, it goes into the pupa stage. After this, it is not long before it metamorphoses into an adult. Bug users are drawn to the bikōchū because of the fact that the first scent that the beetle detects after its metamorphosis stays in its memory, so whenever it smells it again it tries to get to the source of the scent. This is what makes Bikōchū coveted, since it can be used as a formidable tracking device. Once collected, the finding village must wait at least 1 rl month to collect attempt recollection. Bug automatically reacts to the strongest scent present at birth. Egg hatches at the end of the 5 posts.
Sunset Butterfly- D
Can be located in Aburame Compounds using Mushi Yose no Jutsu
A common bug, the Sunset butterfly can be used outside of combat to calm a target. When released, an Aburame can guide it towards a target. When the butterfly lands, it releases a aroma that soothes the target.
Demon Tracking Spider- C
Requires Quest to collect
The jumping Spider is the natural predator of the Aburame's Kikaichuu beetles. When released, it will target any nearby kikaichuu bugs or females. This can be an effective method of finding bug spies. Any of the user's bugs must be withdrawn for them to remain safe. The spider cannot survive against a whole swarm, only 3 at once. Is faster than Kikaichuu beetles, so prey cannot easily escape.
MoleBug- D
can be located at Aburame Compounds using Mushi Yose no Jutsu
MoleBugs can burrow through the ground, leading up to 1 swarm of Kikaichuu. This method can be used to attack enemies from behind, or inside of natural hideaways. Can only burrow through dirt, sand and rock.
StinkBug- E
Can be located anywhere using Mushi Yose no Jutsu
Releases a strong odor if scared or damaged.
