Spent my days with a woman unkind,
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine.
Made up my mind to make a new start,
Going to california with an aching in my heart.
'Catherine' felt ten times more awkward in the moments that they were dancing over there, but was glad that they had found a lead on the Faun's location so soon.
"Hungry dear?" James asked Chris, offering her an appetizer from the tray a server was carrying by. Evros, meanwhile, was eating his own, and his face didn't appear pleased.
"Excuse me," the doctor tapped the server on the shoulder. "This is disgusting."
"O-oh?" The poor boy with the tray stuttered.
"I demand to see who cooked this abomination. I have a few words for him."
After a heated discussion, the server led Dr. Evros over to the kitchen - Malcolm taking Cairndeer and Chris along with him.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Chris took a bite out of the Appetizer and sighed,
She was glad that she had food,
She finished eating it while they walked toward the kitchen.

A tiny stirring of the air signaled the movement of the unseen nobles, slipping into step behind Carnideer and Evros. Both were smiling at his method of gaining entrance.
Rather unorthodox.
But creative, you must admit.

Remus took note of everyone walking off towards the kitchen, but he stayed back for a bit longer. A big group of guests shuffling off into the kitchen would look a bit suspicious. Remus mingled along with 'Catherine' for a little bit longer. After a few minutes, he nodded to her and started heading off towards the kitchen himself.

Once they were all there - after Evros had to explain to the poor server that they were just looking for a friend, he seemed to understand and didn't give them any trouble, but instead went off muttering something about 'sticking it to the man' - the kitchen staff was far too busy to notice them. Servers were rushing about getting trays to carry out, and the cook was in an almost unshakable state - only able to see the stoves and counter-tops in front of him. Some servants were tasting the food and receiving small disciplinary shocks from their bracelets.
In the midst of all of this, a brown-haired Faun was leaned over the sink, peering in.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Chris resisted to call out her name in joy.
"I think we found her!! Oh god let this be Kaokie!!"
She nudged James and whispered,
"Is it her?"

Upon seeing her, Remus wanted to rush in, break her bracelets and drag her back to the lab so that they could put Kaok back together again. However, he remembered the disappointment they had in the last place and he stopped himself.
"Easy now, Remus. There could be a million brown haired fauns out there." the Golden Gladiator's robotic voice droned in his head.

Emma darted into the crowds, lacking Remus' restraint in trying to reach the Faun. It had to be her. She had come too far for it to not be her.
Meanwhile, Hrothbert was taking the more sensible approach and delving (undetected, hopefully) into the Faun's mind from a distance, rifling through memories and emotions to see if it was Kaok. More importantly, if it was the right Kaok. The Window showed alternate realities as well, this could be a Faun from a different timeline or possible future.

The crowd of staff would easily be parted to reveal the girl. She stood up full height, and was approximately the same height as their Kaok - there was no way that she was the full Faun that they were looking for.
"Jason, I think that ring of yours is lost foreve-." She turned to address a fellow servant that wasn't there. Instead there was only a Emma. Her eyes darted to the floor in a rapid attempt to avoid eye contact.
"I'm sorry, ma'am."Someone told me theres a girl out there

When the faun turned around, Remus had a glimmer of hope. He didn't believe it fully, but he he could still hope. Since Emma could scan the girl's mind, he decided to wait until he had she confirmed it. He had a feeling the faun was the one they were looking for, but he wanted to be completely sure.

She felt if she was going to burst if she didn't make sure it was her friend.

Hrothbert turned and shook his head. Emma stiffened, giving a choked cry of something that sounded a whole lot like despair.
"No, my mistake. Sorry to have bothered you." the enchantress turned before the Faun could see the tears stinging at the corners of her eyes.

You've upset her. The girl winced, expecting a shock to come any moment. "N-no, I'm sorry."
James sighed. She was Kaok, this was for sure, but other versions of the Faun wouldn't help them, only the other half of their Kaok would.
"It's fine." The elf told the nervous girl. "You're not in trouble."Someone told me theres a girl out there

Chris felt terrible,
For this not being the right Kaokie, And for poor Remus.
How it must feel for him,
If this had happened to James she would have snapped by now,
"The poor man..And Kaokie, Where could she be..."
Again her mind wandered to the dark room and she shuddered.
"Anywhere but there, ANYWHERE."
