Real Life StoryThis is my baby Callie, she passed away due to an illness a couple months ago.
The night I met her was probably one of the most special days of my life.My first ever filly right before my eyes. Days passed as we spent time together when I could actually make it down to see her. Being in school and illnesses, it was hard enough before she came to make it down to see the others. Watching her become a year old, then two years, then three, was the most wonderful experience of my life.
Watching her be a playful filly along with the adult horses was priceless.Feeding her carrots out of my hand and helping her get used to us was wonderful.
The photo below was the last day I seen her healthy before she passed away. My mother and I went down to visit her one day,and there were a few people there. The owner of the horses recently got into a terrible car crash and was in a wheel chair. One of the people there I was speaking to told her all about Callie and how wonderful she was.The woman tried to give her medication weeks before this [I was not aware that she was ill,I never got a call] and she smiled right to my face and laughed with me.
I went down towards the field to see them. There was her mother,Soup, and Muncy,No callie...? I shrugged it off thinking maybe she was just inside the barn.I was brushing off the other horses when my mother came down and explained to me that Callie died of an unknown illness, they tried to treat her.But we suppose she was just so weak under all that spunk. Her mother before Callie gave birth to a dead foal,so we think her mother just can't ever produce healthy babies. But watching Callie for three years was probably the best experience in my life, even if she didn't live as long as I would've liked her too.
I miss you Callie,I hope you're looking down upon your family and I <3
